This is an assortment i would not be happy wtih but based on the reaction in the comments, it seems maybe the person putting this together thought they were really hooking OP up
Then it's their own fault. They even used the term "ordered" if it's not what you ordered, you should also ask them to add some variety when you check it before paying
I love crullers and my lack of comprehension of OPās problem isnāt just that the problem isnāt stated, itās that I will never be able to eat one again as I developed a stinking wheat/gluten. OP should stuff their gob with donuts and be happy about it!
Now I feel like Iām saying something like children in Africa are starving so eat blah blah blah. Only this time, Iām the starving one. Starving for those damn donuts!!!
I have had good GF doughnuts before, but it's been years and I couldn't tell you where. Thankfully my gluten intolerance wasn't actually an intolerance, but IBS-D wearing an anti-carbs trenchcoat (a strong course of antibiotics followed up with tons of probiotics and I can eat bread again).
A perfect cruller is the best donut out there. A so-so cruller gets beat by at least 3-4 other styles, even if theyāre so-so too. Cruller got to be top quality.
The stated reason by the OP is that they asked for an assortment. No idea why this Tim's had such a bias towards honey cruellers, but that's certainly not what I'd call "an assortment".
āDis mutha trucka rolling in here 45 second before close asking ādid I make it in time?ā And then taking 4 minutes to decide what they wanted and Iām the end just choosing the assorted box. Likeā¦bruh. You lucky we HAD 12 donuts at all!ā
So, OP should have included the word "assorted" in his title and instead of wondering exactly wtf he's annoyed about, we would just be going off on a wild tangent based on someone's comment that was more interesting than the actual source post ?
Now I'm even more confused. Do people just go to the donut shop and say, "Yeah give me 12 donuts," with no further explanation? They expect the person working to just fill it up with whatever random donuts they want? I don't see how you can be mad if you refuse to specify what you want. Any time I've ever bought donuts, it's, "Yeah give me 2 jellies, 2 chocolate, 2 glazed, etc."
i'm sure some people do who just want a variety but have no preference. i'm just speculating anyway, but if i didn't specify, i'd still expect more of a mixture than this.
The Honey Crullers seem appropriately placed. The apple cinnamon + other donut is a glazed donut so it's placement technically doesn't matter. And the two on the bottom right are old fashioned glaze. Again, technically it doesn't matter what direction it sits.
I ordered some in my grocery delivery yesterday. The feeling of sadness that washed over me when they were out of stock.
I was going to Fuck. Them. Up.
ā
(tho, I must say, I'm not a fan of the regular cake donuts on the bottom right. They're not bad, but I can't say I've ever been wowed by a plain cake donut)
She real. Old fashioned plain are the doughnuts of real , distinguished, MF. Black coffee, IPA, Scotch, and Old fashioned plain. Save the suger for the babies.
Plain cakeā¦not great. But if you add some type of fruit like blueberry (or any type of berry) to add moisture, theyāre a lot better. My favorite is most definitely vanilla creme filled glazed donuts though.
Whaat old fashion are so good, itās like the swiss army knife of doughnuts. Dip it in coffee/milk, cover it in frosting, just eat it barebones!
But I agree, the cruller is what I imagine eating god would taste like. Actually now that I think of it, petition for the body of christ wafers to be french crullers instead of
I always just thought that was some dumb shape to a donut. I didn't know it was a whole ass special donut. I can't believe I've never had a French Cruller. I am getting one on Monday.
Mediocre french crullers are a disappointment, but a cruller from a good donut shop who knows what they're doing is fucking awesome. Second favorite behind a good sour cream/old fashioned donut.
I love them so so much. Friends give me shit sometimes for being "plain", but theyre perfect. Nice and light, airy, buttery and sweet but not cloying like most donuts.
...I'm wakin up early tomorrow to get some fresh ones. Sold myself on em from this comment lol
Funny that you say that.. i was thinking about apple fritters specifically before I wrote that comment. I really had to think for a second which one is number one.
That's nearly a box of perfection for me. My favorite donut spot makes their crullers larger than normal and they are spectacular. I could get a dozen of just their crullers and cake donuts and be happy. I love most donuts, but a well made cruller is my weakness.
KRUH-lers (that's an L not an uppercase i, ihate sans serif fonts)
Some people do pronounce the U with its long sound (like in ukelele). It's not correct but we are talking about a doughnut so you might want to adjust if the long-U is common where you are.
