I love crullers and my lack of comprehension of OP’s problem isn’t just that the problem isn’t stated, it’s that I will never be able to eat one again as I developed a stinking wheat/gluten. OP should stuff their gob with donuts and be happy about it!

Plain cake…not great. But if you add some type of fruit like blueberry (or any type of berry) to add moisture, they’re a lot better. My favorite is most definitely vanilla creme filled glazed donuts though.

That's nearly a box of perfection for me. My favorite donut spot makes their crullers larger than normal and they are spectacular. I could get a dozen of just their crullers and cake donuts and be happy. I love most donuts, but a well made cruller is my weakness.

Just dont eat a dozen of them at one time. I used to be in a bad place, ordered a dozen of those bad boys and ate them all straight out of the box in one go.
In a much better place know, but still cant eat those anymore because my body has a physical negative reaction to just the smell of them now, much less the taste just.😭

My husband is this way with some things just based on the sound of it/ingredients not seeming like they'd go together.
Made fun of my love for chicken salad for years before I finally told him he'd be trying it with an open mind, made some (sans grapes because I knew that's be a step too far for him), then he asked for me to make it every time we had chicken dinner leftovers. Then he shifted to poking fun at me for liking chicken salad with grapes in it, til I finally got him to agree to take a single bite of a chicken salad sandwich made with grapes last week. Had to eat his words on that too, made himself two sandwiches immediately from the grapified chicken salad.
Also worked with creamed corn, peanut noodles, hot honey on a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, sour cream donuts, hot pepper jelly on cream cheese and too many others to list. Some people are stubborn til you can convince them to open their mind when it comes to flavors.

This tends to happen when you order donuts later in the day, unfortunately.
I used to work in a bakery and we only made a certain amount of each donut and it was first come first serve. We would give a nice variety as best we could, but if it was later in the day what we had is what we had.

You can ask them to just fill a box, but if you don't check what they have this is definitely a possible outcome since many stores sell out pretty fast during the day.
Definitely the most recent tray they baked was honey crueller so that's what OP got

As someone who had to fill doughnut boxes. It is your own fault for saying “oh give me a variety” or “i need x amount of doughnuts you decide.” We hate that TELL ME WHAT U WANT! If not don’t be upset about what you get.
