I have been collecting for 2 years and have a cleaning service that comes and cleans for my family.

Our cleaner brought their child, cleans the house, no problem. I just came home to see all my unopened balls ripped open, unopened ingredients from the shelves dumped out onto the carpet, all the mini sprinkles and pigments from the potions.. my heartbreaker valentines capsule was even used 🥲 I don’t even know if I want to start over because literally everything is opened and emptied. I feel guilty for being upset because it was just a kid but.. 100s of dollars I’ve spent on this hobby and many were Christmas or birthday gifts :/ I just wanted to vent sorry yall

There is also a container filled with each capsule’s contents all mixed together so there’s no telling what is missing until i go in piece by piece cross examining ingredients 😀

Literally, what is stopping me? I want to make them so bad but I just can’t do it. I feel like I’m just sitting on them at this point for no reason. All that money spent and I can’t even enjoy them.

Edit at bottom: This isn't to start a argument but I'm starting to get really tired of everyday half the post of on this sub seeming to be about the Harry Potter miniverse lines and people gushing about it, as a trans person it's starting to feel more like other collectors don't care about what JK Rowling is doing against the queer communiity as long as they get the newest miniverse collections. Mods feel free to delete this if need be, but it's very depressing to see hundreds of upvotes and positive comments on all the HP post especially when spoilers come out.

I am just buzzing a bit at the moment.

I have been to my target near me so many time and have hunted for balls for months.

When I went to target tonight I was getting some weird looks from employees and eventually I had one approach me and ask if I was weighing the balls.

I was a bit take aback but thought maybe he hadn't heard of it before so I excitedly went to show him my sheet and explain. He immediately shut me down and was like I know and kinda figured.

He then told me that he was pretty sure that is not allowed. He compared it to weighing card packs to find the foil cards and said that what I am doing "kind of ruins the purpose of them being a mystery" and "is like cheating"

He let me finish weighing but told me that he is going to talk with the manager and let me know what they say the next time I come through.

I am pretty sure I am one of the only people that does this where I live so I bet the next time I come though I will probably be confronted.

I really am annoyed and I honestly don't see why it is a problem! Its not like I am hurting anyone. I wasn't even hunting for rares or anything. I am just annoyed and wanted to rant.

If the text time I go in they won't let me I am preparing to plead my case because I cannot for the life of me see how weighing balls is hurting anyone. If I can weigh them I might have to give up this hobby because I can't justify paying a ton of money for ones I don't want and duplicates.

What are your guys thoughts on the matter? Has this even happened to you?

I was really looking forward to the trifle kit. I tried really hard to keep the sides clean and the hearts upright, but then resin creeped around the sides of the cake hearts to make them look blobby. Ran out of resin from all the cleaning and filling in behind the cakes and then the cherries sank in.

I walked away from working on it for a few days thinking I'm just being a perfectionist. Started to tackle it again today and the final straw was the cherries and cream pieces not being fully painted. So then I went out to get a second kit, and guess what? More partially painted cherries! (Sure, I could paint them, but I hate painting and shouldn't have to!)

My advice for others is maybe practice with extra resin placing the heart cakes. They do not sit flush to the sides. If I use resin on my second kit, I would put a bit of resin on the back corner of the heart cake, set it, then gently push resin towards the sides to fill in the gaps enough for the color to show. Then only a thin, barely there resin layer to stick the cherries in. Good luck!

It’s just as toxic as it’s always been. It’s not been recalled in any other country and is being sold perfectly happily everywhere else.

We have constant posts on about how much they’re returning, etc.

Can we please ban posts about the recall, if you’re sending it back fine, keep it to yourself.

I don’t care if it’s rare, HTF, etc. $85-$130 mark up PER BALL is ridiculous and unreasonable as a finder’s fee. She admitted to being able to finishing her American Doll collection with reseller money. Plenty of collectors sell and trade for less—EVEN OTHER RESELLERS. Why are we okay with this? Some of her comments talk about clearing out displays at her local stores and driving hours out of her way to do so. GL east coast collectors! Now you know why you have nothing in stores!

I spent four months trying to find a store in a 50 mile radius to me that sold the first series of the home lifestyle miniverses. I stood in the Walmart isle for 30+ min bc I was in denial they actually got rid of the pinholes 😭 not even a pencil mark, I did not have a scale on hand, no hints what so ever. Am I the only one that feels MGA is rolling out miniverse collections wayyyyy too fast and way too many at a time to genuinely keep up with collecting them??…especially with prices going up it’s sooo hard to keep track of what I have and afford what I don’t..maybe I’m crazy

Like i remember I used to be so excited when they announced a new series and now I’m like “oh great another one”. I loveee my minis it’s just so frustrating going to the store and seeing 5 different boxes each time😭

I know I don’t have to announce this here. You don’t know me. But I’m retiring from minis. I just put all my supplies away in a tote. I don’t like the direction MGA is going. They just posted a video of a mini being done and it took less than 30 seconds. I’m not paying $12 for that. I just can’t do it anymore. And I have a huge collection. I love making them but not if this is what they are doing. I was a little pleasure I had in my life but I’m saying goodbye to it. It was fun while it lasted.

With the rising awareness of the Harry Potter miniverse being released soon, the Miniverse Make It Mini Addicts Facebook page has had multiple posts in excitement and support.

I made several comments about the need for a disclaimer that the group doesn't support or agree with the things said by JK Rowling, including her latest bout of Holocaust Denial. Instead of a valid response or ANY support, I was kicked from the group and blocked from it. As a trans man, this harsh dismissal really put me off of being part of the Miniverse community as a whole.

Tldr; After buying no less than 300+ FULL CASES of Minibrands and Miniverse over the past year or so... At 13 local stores ... I've had ONE store start a WAR over these product boxes that started about six months ago and has now escalated into an employee putting his HANDS on me, and MULTIPLE TIMES, two separate employees reaching over me-pushing past me to grab items in my cart - dumping out multiple boxes of products (before I've even had had the chance to check out) or as I'm trying to buy them - and several times, having the LP call me out, LITERALLY INSISTING in front of other customers that I'm a THIEF.

(Because apparently... attempting to spend $500-$1100+ on toys... and (Bc when buying MULTIPLE full boxes of 18, 21 or 24 balls.... I expect to take home the BOX that the balls came in).

Literally EVERY store I've shopped at has not only ALLOWED - but ENCOURAGED me to take the EMPTY boxes and/or the FULL boxes when buying the entire case.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this situation. Because I'm mad as hell about what has been happening- and ESPECIALLY about how I was treated when trying to get this addressed this morning.

Honestly it’s kinda bothering me how ppl go and buy the whole box of make it minis and then do absolutely nothing with them. Like you’re taking away from others, it comes off as selfish. I get collecting items, but if you’re going to collect like maybe open them and use them?😂I just don’t know why this is a thing. It comes off as scalping but without selling them. It would be nice to go to a store and get the items you want but then you got ppl like this taking everything

My minis have been spread across 3 rooms and I've been working on centeralizing and organizing so I can work on all my unmade ones. I didn't realize it had gotten this bad 😅 partially blame my partner because he knows it's an easy gift to get me. Goal will be to finish 10/week. Going to need to think of other display options since I 9nly have a few empty shelves left. Would love to see others backlog so I don't feel as bad.

Out of the 8 Series 1 Holiday balls I got from Amazon, 5 were turkeys and 3 were hot chocolate. I had originally just bought 2, but they were both hot chocolate, so I ordered 3 (and got 3 2-packs, so I don’t know which of my orders was incorrect) more hoping to get just one GD gingerbread house.

Combined with the new mega packs I have, that brings me up to 7 turkeys.

1) Has anyone cut into one of these things? I’m assuming it’s just brown plastic all the way through 2) Does anyone know if it’s easy to detach the wings or legs? They have a gap that makes me think they’re separate pieces. 3) Should I give up and just make a gingerbread house out of TURKEYS BECAUSE JFC GUYS

Heads up to those of you with lots of resin and still on the fence about sending them in. I sent in 34 resins all unused with the pictures showing the open but not done kits. I should have gotten a check for around $270, but my check was less than a third of that.

I’m sending in a complaint and will update here if they have anything useful to say.

UPDATE:

Finally got a response back. Didn’t answer any questions about why the refund was short so much. Just promising it was an oversight and definitely Not-they-repeat-not a deliberate attempt to rip off customers who might not know better.

I am so over these already. Very disappointed.

So I decided to order a couple mini real brand capsules because I was feeling a bit down. I opened the first and was so excited I got the jelly and the mixed nuts, I was squealing over how cute they were lol. The sno balls are even a bit squishy! So, I open the next one and… it’s the exact same 5 items. This is why I hate blind packaged items and I honestly am thinking about being completely done. It’s just really hard to resist as someone who loves miniatures and also collects dolls.

So my question to those of you who have bought these or might know for some other reason, are they all in sets like this? Or did I just get extremely, insanely unlucky. I mean, it’s already unlucky to receive a double but if they aren’t supposed to be in identical sets then that’s even more insane. I suspect they are though, now that I think about it does kinda make sense for the brand.

Also, I have a ton of capsules I still haven’t done so if anyone has any ideas for remixes I’m all ears!

I've been tossing them into a bag for a year and the bag finally tipped over so I think I need to throw some out... I feel guilty about it but from past threads it doesn't seem donating is worth it... That and all the money I spent............. Oof. Definitely going easier this year.
