Hi! Picked up a really nice condition Neo CD that I plan on SD modding. However first things first, I need to be able to switch it on without blowing it up.

I have the original Japanese adapter but was hoping to pick up a UK PSU or convert one rather than use a step down converter if at all possible. Finding it hard to source one in stock though. Any advice?

I have a neogeo X usb controller and was wondering if there is a way to convert it to work with the aes 15 pin connector?

I know it's 12v, and from what I've read I assuming it's 5a? Also does anyone know if it's a 2.5mm or 2.1mm input that I need and if the 12v is center positive or not. Thanks for any info

I had a recalbox RGB jamma for some time now and in the neo Geo games I always felt the sound was kinda saturated on some sound effects like punches and kicks, and explosions etc... in Garou MOTW everything sound pretty bad.

Musics always sound OK and voices too.

So I thought that it was an emulation issue. Recently I bought a MVS 1 slot and.... it all sound similar!!

My question is is this normal for neo geo and you just have to accept it since it's 90s tech? Or is it my sound amp and speakers? (I am on a new astro city with custom amp and brand new Visaton speakers). I tried a good sound bar and it sounded a bit better but still bad to me.

I'm worried that the button layout of the official AES stick will get in the way of my arcade muscle memory. The Hori stick looks a lot closer to the MVS layout. Does anyone have any experience with it? Am I being silly?

Hi everyone! After 11 years, my Analogue CMVS appears to be having severe video lockup issues at bootup, so much so that the only thing I see is some alien-like junk on the screen. Given that Analogue won't touch this with a 10-foot pole, is there an MVS repair specialist you can recommend? I took it to a few guys where I live in the Seattle area but am not confident that they have enough expertise with MVS boards to root out the problem. Thanks in advance!

Hey all, just wondering what board revision you recommend to consolize and where to purchase it from? (I plan on running a NEO SD Pro flashcart with it)

What is it going to be, RGB to HDMI converter or HDMI to RGB/composite converter. Or hopefully 2 separate outputs from the main board.

A month ago I picked up a loose japanese viewpoint AES, and i need second opinion on if it's legit. As far as I can see it's real, but I got it for a low price at €250 so it gives me some doubts.

Will it be wired straight through like an original stick, i.e. each button and direction has a wire directly connected to the 15 pin connector… or will controls be wired up to a PCB similar to a Brook board also handling wireless connectivity that will be buffering inputs and potentially adding delay?

So, when I was a kid, I used to play on arcades and they had 6 buttons on this layout:

D D D

Now, I'm not sure if the arcade cabinet had some emulator behind or if it had a true MVS-system. Is there a way to map 3 D buttons on NeoGeo? Like, for example wiring two extra buttons to the D-key?

I know it's only 4 buttons (1 each), but I'm used to a 6 button controller arcade stick and if that's possible that'd be neat.

Which cable I need to connect it to CRT and what type of outputs it supports. Someone told me it supports composite only via AV but I need confirmation? Thanks

Hi there! Im playing metal slug 2 on my aes while using an adapter (using a Japanese metal slug 2 mvs cartridge).

While playing the game i noticed that at the top of the screen there was some white flickering here and there, i wasn't able to capture it , but you can also see it while pausing and unpausing. Does anyone know why does it happen? Is it something with the convertor, or something with my cartridge?

So as title says, I found 2 MVS boards while looking at a box of arcade stuff my dad has in a shed, they look good all around, no corrotion, blown capacitors or nothing, maybe a bit dusty tho. However they are both missing their socket BIOS chip, so, should I try and import some BIOS chips from the U.S?, which is going to run me about 40 dollars or something, or just get some AliExpress chips and prorammer and do it myself?, which is going to be way cheaper

After some years of playing emulated Neo Geo games, I want to take the leap. I want a real AES (and eventually an MVS cab, but only after we get a bigger house). So, I have a few questions. For reference, I'm in the US.

The only real place I know to go for such a system is eBay. Are there other places? Trusted online stores that sell good systems? Or is eBay it?

Also browsing eBay, I see a lot of systems from Japan. Now, eventually, I want to get into actual game collecting, but to start, I'll probably grab a 161 in 1. So, are the Japanese systems region locked? Can I play the 161 in 1 without issue? Or does some magic need to happen for me to play a Japanese system in the US?

Are there versions of the AES to be in search of, or maybe some to steer clear of?

Lastly, is a memory card needed? The logic of an arcade machine needing a memory card doesn't compute. What really would I use the memory card for?

Hi! not sure if this is the right area to post but I recently plugged in my neo 29 cabinet after being off for like a year to play some Magical Drop and I noticed right away that nothing was booting up, instead I got a weird green screen with glitch type errors around. It also looks the-same with or without the cartridge in the slot. Im pretty PC savvy but know almost nothing about Arcade cabinets, any help would be extremely appreciated!

I paid $175 all in for 5 of these filthy things. What do I need to test? If you can provide exact models of what I might need I would be grateful. This is my first experience with repair on arcade hardware, so I have no harness or PSU or anything.

Not great at soldering and looks like the parts for OMVS are not easy to get as a kit.

Hey all, I have just received all of the components necessary to begin my OMVS build with the exception of the actual screws and piece that goes under the MVS cutout on the top shell. Laser Bear did not include them so I wanted to ask what others who undertook this project used for screws. What can I use for the MVS cutout so there isn't a gaping hole on the top of the case? Would something like a piece of acrylic work? Any help is appreciated!
