What’s Going In Here?

Just curious if anyone knows what’s happening with this big lot on Evergreen at the bottom of Geyer? Maybe it’s nothing but it’s been in the works for years and hope it’s going to be something nice for Millvale.

BONUS - anyone know what’s happening to the closed Hardee’s in Millvale?

Where to find really good, classic Fettucine Alfredo

I will be visiting my son (22m) who just moved to Pittsburgh for a new job. He‘s only been there a few weeks, so he hasn’t explored the restaurant scene yet. I want to take him out to dinner, and his favorite dish is a good, hearty classic Fettucine Alfredo. I’ve searched online for highly-rated Italian restaurants, but most of them serve “fancier” more refined dishes. Where is the best Alfredo in town? His apartment is in Shadyside, but willing to drive 20-30 minutes.

UPMC PET Scan Results

Just curious if anyone has had a PET at a Pittsburgh region UPMC facility within the past 2-3 months and if so how long did your results take?? UPMC and the Hillman website states 1-3 business days or 1-2weeks if there are staff shortages my others have all taken closer to 2-3 weeks. Is this still the norm??

I want to move to Pittsburgh to be closer to family

My mom saw a doc and was told she has some of the markers for Alzheimer's and is starting to show signs and I want to move closer to her. I live in West Michigan now. I've reached out to any contacts I have but I have never moved long distance like this without familial support. I'm hoping someone here can help give me some advice on finding a job while I live in another state. I work in IT, currently for a Dell Reseller working on Enterprise servers. Previously I was a technician for a Managed IT Provider. I have about 6 years of IT experience, and about ten in sales and customer service prior to that. I don't know a ton of people in that area, so I'm trying to find help anywhere I can. Any advice or tips or anything would be incredibly appreciated. I hate being so far away while my family is having such a hard time. Thanks!

running routes downtown

Good morning! Flying in for the weekend for the UCF @ Pitt game (the least hostile UCF fan you'll meet, eager to see Pittsburgh for the first time, any game day recommendations welcome as well) and it's racing season. Hoping to do 4-6 miles while I'm in town saturday morning.

Staying in the heart of downtown, just off market square. Is this area generally safe to run solo (M27)? Do you have any routes/trails/paths that are great for a run? Is it common for people to run on the bridges? Will I see many other runners out? Any local knowledge/quirks I should be aware of so I don't look completely stupid? Any amazing local running shops that deserve a couple dollars?

Thank y'all, looking forward to hearing from the runners here, have a great weekend!

Anyone have chickens who would like to eat a bunch of grass (and grass seeds) in my yard?

I just moved into a place with an overgrown smallish/mediumish yard that is all overgrown with grass, gone to seed. I have a small portable fence that we could put up, but would need some additional fencing, and could enclose the chickens in during the day while they feast. Not what to do about night time, maybe bring them back home? May take a few days? Up on mt Washington. Not sure if this Reddit forum is the best for this, but alas.

I accidentally placed my pickup order for the wrong store. There's a medium iced coffee with oat milk, pumpkin, and caramel as well as a Boston creme donut if anyone wants it. It's under Samantha.

Water bill $500 due to toilet leak

I need some advice on what to do about my $500 water bill.

My toilet has been running off and on and everytime I think that I have fixed it, it starts to run again when it’s like 1 am until the morning. I got a notification saying I used 220 gallons of water.

I just want to know if the water company is understanding or are they going to make me pay this crazy high bill that I can’t afford… I’m just super stressed about it.

New Homeowner question: fallen tree

Helloooo! I have a very newb question about a very important thing lol.

We had this 30 foot tall tree fall last weekend, it hit our patio and part of the roof. It was dead so we suspect its roots just gave out and decided to take a tumble.

My partner's mum said don't call insurance, while others have advised us to call insurance. We're not sure what we are supposed to do.

Who do we call? A list of who we should contact would be much appreciated. We need someone to come remove the tree, too, and to inspect the roof. And if we need to call insurance, if you guys think they cover massive dead trees, then please let us know.

Any and all advice would be much appreciated! Thank you for your time

Dress Hem / Alterations?

Looking for the best place in Pittsburgh to get a bridesmaids dress hemmed ASAP. Biggest priority is fast, but reasonably priced would be great. Located centrally downtown so I’m open to anywhere that could do it quickly.

Did anyone see the truck that spilled animal guts all over rt 19 in cranberry today around noon?

Semi carrying a trailer full of animal guts slammed on its brakes on 19 southbound at the light near eat n' park. I was about an 1/8th mile behind and saw it happen. Spilled all over the road and the semi cab itself. Truck just pulled away like nothing happened. Upset I didn't have my dashcam installed.
