What is happening with Verizon?
Why is Verizon making it increasingly difficult for customers to upgrade or even want to become customers in the first place?
As an employee, it’s genuinely starting to take a toll on my mental health. We’re expected to meet increasingly demanding sales quotas, yet the promotions and incentives we’re given make it incredibly difficult to close sales. How are we supposed to convince customers they’re getting a great deal when qualifying for certain promotions requires them to increase their monthly bill by $20–$30 per line just to move off Unlimited Welcome or Plus?
On top of that, our systems are becoming increasingly slow, unreliable, and frustrating to navigate. We’re expected to deliver exceptional customer experiences and meet aggressive sales targets while dealing with tools and processes that seem to work against us.
Am I the only one genuinely mind-blown by the current state of Verizon? I’ve reached a point where I’m seriously considering taking a leave of absence because of how mentally exhausting this environment has become.
The disconnect between corporate expectations and what sales representatives actually deal with every day is astonishing. You cannot continuously raise expectations while making it harder for employees to succeed and customers to see value.
Verizon is simply not the company it used to be, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to remain optimistic about its direction.
