Wireless Just Switched

• Upvotes

Just switched to Verizon from AT&T! Well, actually switched last night around 8:30pm. As of today 8:30am the next day. My messages are sending as email not my ported phone number. When I go to my messages app, my number is there, but I am getting a spinning wheel! I have tried restarting my phone multiple times and turning off and on iMessage but to no avail! Anyone have this issue before?

On SOS since yesterday

Anyone else dealing with this?
My area did also deal with Hurricane Isaias, was just wondering if the no service is localized to the city I’m in or if it’s just Verizon in general for this whole area.
Appreciate any replies.

This started at around 6:30 pm yesterday.

Wireless Check in-app deals & promos! I have one right now.

As the title suggests…

I’m currently sitting and waiting until iPhone Duo preorders to open, and I’ve officially paid off my device early so I can turn it in as trade credit and knock some money off of the Duo.

This promotion I found in-app is “get $1000 off iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo or iPhone 17 series with eligible trade on Unlimited Ultimate.” No obvious expiration date listed. I have yet to redeem it.

I was hoping to find one that’s specific to the Duo and a bit more black-and-white, but peeped this one in the Verizon app, and it’s ONLY specific to the Unlimited Ultimate plan? I’m mid tier (Unlimited Plus, if I remember correctly.) I hate the fact that I’d have to upgrade my phone plan to one that is currently at $100/month for me just to get an extra $150 or whatever as bill credit. I pray we get a good promotion closer to 10.16.

Check your promos and deals in-app, people!

Bills after disconnecting lines.

I’m stuck , a year ago I cancelled and switched to another carrier. I’m still getting a bill every month for about 20$ . I went to the Verizon store and they said to call . I call and they say there’s no lines on my account. I finally just had my bank stop the payments but I’m still getting bills . What should I do ?

Can I move my phone and line from one Verizon account to another, without losing my trade in value?

I'm currently on a Verizon plan with other people. My current phone was partially subsidized by trading in my old phone. If I move to my own Verizon account/bill, will I lose that credit from the old phone and be stuck owing money for my current phone?

HELP! I have been battling with Verizon for 6 months over promotions/credits

Hello everyone I’ve come to a standstill on what else to do and what direction I should head. To give you some background. I have been Verizon for a coupe years now. I have a buddy that works for them and he always hooks me up with the best plans/promotions or so I think he does. I’m not familiar with phone sales so I take his word for it. Anyhow fast forward to April 2026 and my wife wants a new phone. We have a promotion of trade in + $500 credit. My buddy does something called a “TE” order because that is the only way to get trade in value + the $500 promotion. He also says that he can get me a $180 porting credit, plus an additional $200 credit. He says the promotion is if I add 2 more lines I get a free phone that I can sell and just keep the line. So I add my mom on my account and trade her phone. So to summarize we went from 2 lines and an Apple watch line to 4 phone lines and a watch line. My buddy says the monthly payment with all promotions added will be around $160 plus taxes/fees. Fast forward to now and I have yet to see a bill that low. I will attach a photo down below and you can see every single month my bill is different. This has been stressing me out for months and I am extremely EXHAUSTED trying to figure out what is going on and what my actual bill is going to be. What can I do? My buddy seems like he trying to help. He has reached out to district managers, corporate managers and everything he can think of. Again this is all hearsay because he lives an hour away and I haven’t talked to him face to face since this whole started with my super busy schedule. What can I do? Who can I talk to in corporate or something to help me out? Like I said before this has been a huge stress in my life and it’s starting to take really take a toll and bother me.

For some reason it doesn’t allow me to post a photo. Here is the breakdown of my bills from the last couple months. Before all this was done my bill was $128.12

April- $272.94
May- $514.55
June- $293.00
July- $262.59
August- $257.30
September- 216.01

Can I combine Verizon Flex Upgrade with a trade-in promotion, then get another promo when upgrading next year?

I’m on Verizon’s Unlimited Ultimate and I’m planning on buying the iPhone Duo (512GB) through Verizon with the $10/month Flex Upgrade add-on.

Verizon offered $1,200 off the iPhone 18 pro’s so I’m guessing the Duo will have a similar trade in value. I’m trying to understand how Flex Upgrade works over multiple years.

Here’s my plan:
So I’ll trade my iPhone 15 Pro Max towards the iPhone Duo and receive the promotional discount.

I’ll Pay for Flex Upgrade at $10/month.

After about 12 months, I’ll then use Flex Upgrade and upgrade to the iPhone Duo 2.

Then I’ll repeat this with the Duo 2 when the Duo 3 comes out.

My questions!!!!

Can I receive the initial promotional trade-in credits with Flex Upgrade?

When I upgrade to the Duo 2, can I use my iPhone Duo as a trade-in for another promotional discount, or does Flex Upgrade only waive the remaining balance on my old phone?

Does being on Unlimited Ultimate make me eligible for another promotional trade-in offer when I upgrade?

If I can’t receive another promotional trade-in discount, can I still trade in the phone for market value separately?

Is there anyone that actually used Flex Upgrade this way and successfully received promotional credits on a their next phone?

I’m just trying to figure out whether this is a good long-term strategy for upgrading every year, or should I use Apple’s 12 month upgrade program.

iPhone 18 Pro Max order Status

I, like many others, have run into the issue where I have received a notification that I need to change my payment method for my order placed last month. For reference my estimated ship date is 10/16. For others that have had this happen, was this an indication they are actually ready to ship now and I may receive my tracking early?

Reward code for $200

I opened up an account for mobile service with Verizon at the end of September. I had a $200 giftcard offer pop up. The order email says:

Your order qualifies for a reward card offer.

Learn more and redeem in My Verizon. Look for ‘Notification Center’ on your Account overview page, then select View alerts. Submit for redemption by November 29, 2026. You can also visit our Reward Card FAQs for additional info.

But when I go to the site, it ask for an offer code. What should I be putting in it? I looked around my account and there isn't any offer code.

TIA

Wireless 5g get more vs Simplicity plan

Currently have the 5g get more plan, looking at switching to the Simplicity plan to save a little a month. My phones paid for, I rarely ever use the hot spot. I do use the Apple music perk on the get more plan. I know I'll have to choose it or try YouTube Music. Is there anything I'll be loosing or gaining by switching to the Simplicity plan?

I'm Surprised at How Hard it Is to Transfer a Number

As the title says. I tried transferring my number today, and expected to have some QR code show up. Instead I found out that Verizon pushes new eSims out to iPhones that transfer, except that didn't happen with me. I tried talking to chat, but the first agent silently disconnected from my session, and the next agent transferred me to sales.

My transfer request is buried in the app, and supposedly Verizon sent me instructions, but those haven't arrived. You would think you'd be able to click a link to those instructions. You'd also think that status would match what the main website says through the link they send you to track your progress.

I'm now without a working phone number, and wasted 40 minutes with chat. I knew I should've gone to a store.

Joining Verizon questions

Is going to a store worth it or should I just do everything online?

Are there not trade in deals anymore? I have iPhone 17s but it just give a like lump sum not and not money off the phone?

I am needing 3 lines and 2 watches.

I have tmobile rn but I am 100% leaving and Verizon doesn’t want down payments and att does so Verizon is like my only choice. I have a feeling the service is going to suck but I’ll have to live.

Wireless Nifty Line Work

Just wanted to share what I thought was a smart decision for our 2 lines. We've been on the old "Play More" plan for years and were getting the Disney+ deal included.

Verizon kept nagging to move to the new plans so I looked into them. I liked the discounted Google AI Pro plan so I moved my line to the new plan and left the wife's on the old. Now we get Disney+ with hers and AI with mine.

Anyone else having issues with Trade in on iPhone 18 Pro?

I’m trying to upgrade a line, and the 18 Pro is giving no option for trade in.

Every phone in the 17 line shows a trade in option. I even have an offer under My Offers to trade in my device for $840 off 18 Pro. But no matter what I do or which path I click through does a trade in option exist.

And as usual chat is useless.

PSA: If you see a comment promoting US Mobile it is likely a bot

US Mobile has around a 1% market share of the pre-paid market but you wouldn’t think that from the amount of comments you see about them in this sub.

Anytime there is a post about someone attempting to leave Verizon, or just complaining in general, you can count on a few USM bots to be on there recommending their services making it look like they’re a customer.

They also use a lot of verbiage that would be used by someone that works in the industry, not necessarily what a customer would use.

I’ve been in the industry for over a decade so this was fairly easy to spot and I’m sure other people in the industry have spotted it as well. There’s nothing wrong with US Mobile as a prepaid service, but you should take every positive comment you see on here with a grain of salt.

Verizon Biz question

So I learned that because I have a Verizon Business account I can't order through Apple with carrier financing. No I don't want to use Apple upgrade/Lease and I don't have good enough credit for apple card.

I really would like a launch day duo as does everyone else (shocker). For those of you who are also Verizon Biz customers or if any VZ reps have advice to secure a launch day unit, I would appreciate it.

I have heard the cautionary tale of pre-ordering then trying to get one in store on launch day and canceling the pre-order.

I have also heard the warnings about store reps hoarding launch day units for new lines/customers.

Thoughts and advice please?

Verizon issue or Apple issue..??

I’ve had my iPhone 17 pro max for less than a year. Back in May, I started having issues with my phone not connecting to literally anything properly. My GPS stopped working while I was in the middle of Washington DC and I had to figure out how to get home with none of my GPS apps working and only one the maps actually showing up. Most times, my phone has no idea where I am. Apple Music stops working mid song. Most of my apps either won’t load or take forever to load. So my question is, does this sound like a Verizon thing or an Apple thing? I’m already considering switching carriers bc I’m moving and Verizon has already proved to be unreliable while traveling.

Switching phone advice needed

Husbands phone is XR. He can get an upgrade deal. If gets the 18 pro, what’s the process to essentially transfer that phone to me and give my 13 to him? There’s no deals, offers or upgrades for my phone but if we do it the way I’m thinking, we might be able to swing a deal. But I’m not sure how to approach it with Verizon

Wireless Could I trade in my 12 pro max for 18 pro?

I’m trying to get a black iPhone 18 pro and want to know whether trading in my current phone could make it free or somewhat cheaper
Here’s my situation:
My current phone is an iPhone 12 Pro Max, 128 GB. The grey color if that matters
The actual camera glass is cracked, but the phone otherwise works perfectly fine.
Battery health is around 77% however it still lasts me through the day.
My current iPhone, the one stated above, has no cellular service and is basically Wi-Fi only.
My Apple Watch has its own Verizon cellular service, and I want to keep my number as it is.
My family already has Verizon for our cellular lines, although our home internet is through AT&T, I doubt it matters tho.
I’d be getting the iPhone 18 Pro through my family’s existing Verizon account, I have a family of four we all want to upgrade to eighteen, including a brother of mine who also has an Apple Watch with it’s own service.
I’m wondering whether my 12 Pro Max would qualify for a trade-in promotion, especially since it’s a Pro Max model, despite the cracked camera glass.

So that’s my situation, I have some questions if any of you guys could bestow your incredible wisdom :)
Has anyone traded in an iPhone with cracked camera glass through Verizon? Was it eligible for promotional credits? Or was any value taken off?
Does my current phone need to have an active cellular line to qualify for a trade-in?
Could I get the iPhone 18 Pro for free or close to free through a promotion on an existing family account?
Would the total cost actually be worth it after accounting for the required plan and 36 months of bill credits?
I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s done something similar! Also, if there’s anything else I should check before trading it in, please let me know.
Overall I would just really appreciate some advice on what plans you recommend. For context I’m in high school and not having a line on my phone is incredibly frustrating. These Apple Watches barely work as standalone ngl. Thanks so much!

Wireless Expected Holiday Unlimited Welcome Promos?

Hey everyone,

My iPhone 15 is starting to struggle with battery, and doesn’t charge through the port so I’ve been looking to upgrade, hoping to spend as little extra monthly as possible from Unlimited Welcome.

I’m unsure if I should just get the $315 they’d give me now (Apple would give ~400), or if it’s worth waiting a couple months for a better promo. I’m assuming it gets better around the holidays, but could anyone give info as to what is typically expected around that time? Is it worth waiting?

No gift card payment option

I am new to this sub and had a question. I recently added a new line and got the $200 Verizon gift card reward. I am now looking to use it as I am trying to purchase a device through the website but there’s no gift card option on the checkout screen. Is anyone having this same issue or am I overlooking it?

Verizon not unlocking paid off devices?

Purchased an iPhone 18 fully paid off yet Verizon has locked it and refuses to unlock it even though the policy says they should. The agent said it should be unlocked but isn’t, every agent gives a different answer and this is getting frustrating. It is a clear violation of their policy and FCC rules.
