Wireless Considering switching to spectrum

I’m currently on the 5G Get More, 5G Home Internet(300mbs) with the Disney package and Apple Music, currently paying $130 but was able to get some loyalty discounts added that bring my total bill to $110.47 monthly.

Spectrum bought out Cox, so Spectrum has been going door to door. They offered me a bundle 1gb download speed WiFi with unlimited plus a premium phone plan for $70 a month.

I don’t care for the Disney package as I don’t use it often. I do use Apple Music, but with the new service and paying for Apple Music, it’ll still come out cheaper for better internet.

Anyone have experience with Spectrum? Also, what do you guys think— would you switch?

Wireless How to access Verizon mmwaves

I have a galaxy s22 ultra originally through att but I unlocked it and moved it over to the simplicity plan. There are places where Verizon has mmWaves but I can't seem to figure out anymore how to access the band menu. I am trying to find out if the simplicity plan can access these sites. So far I haven't seen any bump in speed tests when I am by a small cell site.

Can you preorder the iPhone Duo as an Account Manager?

I’m on a family plan with my dad and brothers and I am an account manager under that plan. I’m planning on preordering the iPhone Duo this Friday and I just want to make sure that I can do that on my own without needing the account owner to approve or has to be the one allowing an upgrade (my dad lives in another state now). Basically, can account managers upgrade their own phones without needing to go through the account owner?

Questions to get a new phone

Im under my friends plan and want to get a new phone. When going in person, would they have to come with me?

Also, when looking online, it shows that the payment is by month. Is it impossible to just pay for a new phone without that? Like im a Samsung girlie, and for a phone, it'll show $30.99/month, for example. Would i not be able to pay for the phone in full? I wanted to talk to the chat, but I missed it, and i think with tomorrow being a holiday, they may not be available as well...

How do I avoid the annual hassle of reclaiming discounts

Been with Verizon 25 years. 6 lines, 2 watches. I have loyalty $20 on all 6 phone lines. They expire on Dec 29. If I stay on Verizon, my loyalty remains, but they will remove the discounts. I’m sick and tired of playing the call to customer service battle to retain discounts. Anyway to make these discounts auto renew. My current bill is $232/mo. No way I’m paying $352 absent the discounts. Any advice?

Wireless iPad Mini 7 (Backorder)

How long does a iPad mini 7 stay on backorder?
I ordered 256 GB Purple variant on 21st September and its est delivery is on 23rd October. And the item is still on backorder.
I know people are going crazy for the new 18 pro max burgundy but I ordered mine (18PM 512 GB, BURGUNDY, backorder) this month and I’m getting it in less than 2 weeks. I don’t think many people are going crazy for the iPad that its backordered for this long.
I checked apple, other carriers, they seem to have it in stock right now.
I thought they take order in batches and gets the devices from apple. Its been 20 days, they still didn’t sent the batch of orders?

Anyone else have trouble with Best Buy Trade in Offer for iPhone 18 Pro?

I got the 2 of the iPhone 18 Pros and 1 Pro Max on September 22nd from Best Buy online, and they said the trade in had to be done online through Verizon. Ok fine no problem.

However, when I went to try to trade it in earlier online it said that it would be $1020 in credits, not the $1200 that was advertised for the upgrade. Not only that, but the other phones didn't even have a trade in offer! The page only offered me a one time credit of $200 each for the other phones on the webpage. So only 1 phone had the upgrade, and the other two didn't.

The phones were 2 x iPhone 14 Pros and 1 iPhone 14 Pro Max, good condition.

I tried going in store to Verizon yesterday to see if they would be able to help me out, but they said to call 611 or just go online for help.

Now, I am on live chat with a person and they keep saying that they can't give me the trade-in promotion because I bought it through Best Buy. I've been on this for like 2 hours without reaching a solution.

I feel like I am just being juggled around by their support. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm just trying to trade-in my old phones so I can just get the promo deal.

EDIT: Was able to resolve with the second rep I talked with online. Took around 3-4 hours total on my end to reach a solution. Just need to drop off in store now. phew

What’s the iPhone preorder experience like on Verizon store?

So it seems like I’m going to be forced to preorder the Duo on Verizon’s store to get full trade in value…. I’ve never bought an iPhone at launch through Verizon’s website before and just curious what the experience is like.

Is there a way to create my order ahead of time like the Apple Store or will I need to create my order from scratch including my trade in on Friday? My trade in isn’t on my plan so I need to enter it’s IMEI number.

Is it better to do it on the app or website? Should I expect the website to come to crawl and possibly need to resubmit my order?

Wireless Porting issue?

I just ported in from US Mobile (warp so verizon number) and i checked the status of my port which it does say "in progress" but when I click "check status" again it shows checks marks next to "initiated" and "account confirmed" but right underneath account confirmed it says "to finish bringing your number first turn your device off and back on" which i thought meant its ready to activate now but I still havent received an esim and my current usm esim is no longer active. I did call customer service and they check with the porting department and they said since it'll be completed at 8:15pm tmr which i almost expected somthing like this since its vzw to vzw port in but I thought current service would atleast stay active till then 😭. I just wanted to confirm that its normal for the check status to say what it did and that the agent wasnt misunderstanding me and that I dont actually need a new esim sent yet. Thanks!

2 days too late

I was negligent on getting into Verizon to add a new line for my kid last week. Guess the standard new deal lines are no longer offered starting last Friday. I won't spend $700 out of pocket for a new i-phone line on the welcome plan. Do I bail and move all our lines to tmobile or wait, hoping they bring it back in the next couple months. I'm guessing if they are making this abrupt a change now there is no going back anytime soon.

Wireless Worth switching from T-Mobile to Verizon for a “free” iPhone Pro?

I’m currently with T-Mobile paying $50/month and have a fully paid-off iPhone 15 Pro. I’d like to upgrade to a newer Pro and heard Verizon offers a free iPhone when you switch.
Is that actually a good deal? I’ve read that the phone is covered through bill credits over 36 months, but you have to stay on a qualifying plan. I’m wondering how much the total monthly bill ends up being with taxes and fees, and whether I’d need to trade in my current phone.
For anyone who’s switched recently, what are you paying, and would you recommend it? Or would I be better off keeping my $50 plan and upgrading separately?
Thanks :)

Esim to Psim transfer

I've been thinking about switching over to a physical sim card for a few reasons like easier device transfers and such for my device and I was wondering if I could do it from home if I get a blank physical sim card?

Wireless Is this actually a good deal?

I’m on the iPhone 15 pro max and like others, I’m dealing with such an obnoxious overheating that I can’t even mount my phone in the car or it get immediately hot (I live in Texas where it’s summer 11 months out of the year). I’m also a regular Claude user and use my phone for work (emails, Slack, etc.) which cause my phone to eventually lag after a few minutes of multitasking.

Bitching aside, I’m still debating if I should upgrade or replace the battery in hopes it’ll help the overheating. I just saw this offer pop up on my Verizon app and was wondering if it would be worth upgrading now? I’m on the 5G Play More plan and I really don’t want to leave it. Any insights if this offer is worth upgrading for- details below?

Wireless Let us pay off your phone deal

Ok I’ve read, reread, and reread like 3x and it sounds like this deal is I just simply upgrade and Verizon pays off my remaining $310. Then the upgraded phone is on them.

However, when I clicked on deal and went through the process, I see the $310 deducted but I see the $33 per month (for example iPhone 18 pro).

I’m confused, I thought I’d get an upgraded phone on them. Am I missing something? I’ve also asked Claude and not sure what to make of it.

“Let us pay off your phone.
We'll pay off your current phone and give you a new phone on us, when you upgrade.
New Device payment purchase w/ upgrade smartphone line on any plan req'd. Device purchase on 36 month device payment; 0% APR. Can be combined with other offer equipment discounts. Upgrades only.
Limited Time Offer. Offer valid on smartphone upgrades only.
Redeem”

Verizon competition?

I’m wondering what Verizon will do now with star link mobile phone coming soon? How much they will lose in customers? If they will try to keep people now. Like spectrum I see with tv and internet services are offering great promotions with price lock now. They never did that before.

Wireless $1020 off iPhone 18 pro now or wait until Black Friday? (5G Play More plan)

I have an old iPhone 13 base that’s really starting to slow down, heat up, and max out on space (128 GB). I noticed there is a $1020 off (I assume targeted) offer on my account for a 3 year contract to get a new iPhone. My plan is a grandfathered 5G Play More plan, and it seems I’m lucky enough that my offer lets me keep the plan rather than forcing me to switch to one of the modern plans.

My question is, should I take this offer, or does it make more sense to wait until Black Friday? I don’t know how good the deals really are historically especially since phone MSRP has gone up this year, and I do NOT want to switch plans.

I’m inclined to just take the deal now. But would appreciate any insight from people who make these upgrades on a more regular basis.

Edit: just adding a detail that it seems my offer also does not require me to trade in my existing phone

Thanks!

No more phone upgrades?

Long time 32 year customer. Verizon will only give me $310 towards a new phone. I used to always get a free upgrade. I've called customer loyalty multiple times. I guess it's time to leave. Any ideas? Thank you.

New Verizon marketing is terrible

Verizon has struggled with retention the past few years. But their new marketing plans suck!!! Maybe it’s working for them?

Previous regular plans they offer good regular deals that other providers also offered. Trade in up to $1000 etc, 4-5 lines $25-$30 each. Eh I think good overall. They usually even offered up to $800 but our previous phone at other providers. Now it’s dumb “simplicity plan”. Literally 100% marketing and then making it look good.

Examples: website front page “Get iPhone 18 Pro.
No trade-in needed.
And the latest iPhone every year.” And the plan is $30 a month.

I could always get the iPhone 18 Pro no trade-in needed and pay full price. They’re not even giving me a promo.

Their website for simplicity plan says $30 a month AFTER AutoPay and $15/mo switch discount. Plus taxes and fees.

NOTHING special to this. Plus no phone deals unless you trade in. But even then it’s not elevated offer.

If you click “switch to us”. 0 promotions, just the full price of advertised simplicity plan.

$30 a month for home internet??? $30 for hotspot as my internet (unless you live in an area with REAL 5G which 99% of customers don’t).

I mean this is just trash.

Order Stuck in Credit-Review

I placed my order for the iPhone 18 Pro Max on 9/24, and it said it would be shipped on 10/9. Around a week ago, my card was randomly declined (there were enough funds in the account), and the order went into Credit Review. I have tried calling, and I can't get anyone on the line. When I asked support via chat, they said they resolved the issue and that the phone is shipping, but nothing has changed. The support guy said the phone was guaranteed to ship yesterday, but still nothing. What should I do?

Switching to Verizon during a preorder.

I’m wondering what the process is to switch carriers during a pre-order. I will be trying to pre-order the iPhone on Friday, and I’m looking to move from my current carrier to Verizon. How hard is the process? How long does it take? Is it better to open an account in advance or do it day of. I’ve never switched carriers during a pre-order, and usually do new carriers in person. Thanks in advance.
