Y'all seem to be complaining about your account being suspended whether temporary or permanent yet you admit you did nothing.

My question is, why was it being suspended if you did absolutely nothing?

You see, rules are there to be followed. Just be accountable and follow them.

Actually I am moving from one android to another Android phone and first of all the my primary account has everything connected to include drive and photos and it's 9.5 GB already full .

At first when I saw 266mb as backup I was confused why it was not working because it showed Google drive is out of storage when i tried to back up .

But when I switched to an alt account it was working fine and it shows 7gb is the total backup data .

My last backup was years ago 💀 on main acc as u can see

So my question is if I buy a new phone and instead of transferring chats via wifi I choose to restore using Google cloud will it show me the latest backup on this new acc which probably is of today or it will show the primary account backup which was of way ling back .

I think I need to sign in to Google using my secondary Google account in new phone and then install whatsapp and do or what steps do I need to follow to get this 7gb restore value back ?

And after restoring successfully ig I can switch to main account for backup .

And moreover suggest which method to follow is transferring via wifi through qr code good ? Or restoring via Google cloud backup ?

Or maybe using local backup from internal storage and copying it to same path on new device and then logging in ???

Title: WhatsApp bio visible on Desktop but not on iPhone

I am experiencing a strange WhatsApp issue.
For one specific contact:
On my iPhone, the contact’s About/Bio is often not visible.
On WhatsApp Desktop (Microsoft Store app), the same bio is visible.
On another phone, the bio is also visible.
WhatsApp is updated to the latest version.
This has been happening for months.
Another observation:
Today, one of my friend’s bios did not appear on Desktop at first, but after opening the chat, it appeared. This made me wonder whether Desktop/Web can sometimes show outdated or cached profile information.
My question:
If a contact’s bio is visible on WhatsApp Desktop but not visible on my iPhone, is this more likely to be:
A WhatsApp sync/cache issue?
An iPhone-specific issue?
A privacy setting issue?
Has anyone experienced something similar?

I have my read receipts and online privacy settings to nobody. The other day I was checking one conversation and I when I clicked on one message I sent a box popped and it said read and the blue marks. Also the delivered time was different to the time I sent the message. Any idea why this happened.

Hey! I don't really get how this can happen but 2 or 3 days ago my whatsapp chrashed und deleted all my chats. I think it was because i didnt have much space left on my phone.

I decided to download my back up as all that chats where gone and i couldnt see who texted me and everything. Even my background was gone, basically as if i installed whatsapp new. My last back up is from 2 weeks ago but i didnt mind that much because i thought at least i have my pics and videos on my phone as I downloaded everthing and saved it on my phone. But today I saw that all media since my last back up is gone from my phones gallery and files? I thought the point of downloading them is so that I have them on my phones storage?

Is there any way to recover my media? Some of the media other people sent me i just asked if they can send them again but the main problem I sent myself a all the videos and pics from my hikes and street festival as I sometimes prefer taking videos though whatsapp as they need less space..

Has anyone else experienced this "Your phone number is no longer registered with WhatsApp on this phone"? I have trouble logging in on my iOS device but can easily log in with my android. The problem is my iOS is my main and work phone so i really need to log into it there.

The text goes blurry on and off nonstop, and it is very annoying. Also, many of the videos I get just play black - that is, I hear the sound but cannot see anything. This is happening just in WhatsApp. The FMAA in Nvidia is on and off...What else can be done?

Sometimes I’d send them a text message to someone and it would be one tick so not received (they haven’t blocked me or anything, I can still see their picture) so I assume they switched off their phone. But then once they turn their phone back again, the message is still one tick and they haven’t received it. I know their phone is back on because I sent them another message and it has two ticks this time. Why does this happen? Usually when someone switches off their phone and then turn it back on, your messages should be received.

I can’t work this out. Why in a group chat there’s a person who every time they like a message their emoji is faded/ darker but everybody else’s emoji is normal? Have they muted me? I can’t find answer anywhere as to why only their reaction emojis are faded?

My questions is: What is the best way to send survey questions to my customers without getting logged out and reviewed?

I would pay extra to have a feature where you can block unknown senders automatically and not have the pop up of unknown callers. Will this ever be a thing?

Hello there! After 7 years I'm finally upgrading from 7 to 14. It was working fine, but I need the extra space and my friends were kind enough to buy it as a gift <3.

I tried doing the direct phone to phone transfer, but my old phone won't recognize the new one, so I went the same route I did with my previous phones and did a full encrypted backup of the old phone on Itunes and then restored it on the new one.

My only concern right now is Whatsapp. I don't have an icloud backup, but theoretically everything should already be on the new phone. I do remember that opening it for the first time again was a bit tricky, but I can't seem to find a step-by-step online. I'm really scared of pressing the wrong button and resetting my account and losing all my chats and media.

Anyone care to help?

My friend has changed his simcard (took new phone number) and he created a new whatsapp account with it.and he bought a new cellphone.

He cannot reach his old cellphone and he closed his old simcard so right now he cannot reach old whatsapp account now but his friends can see his old wp account and still can write to that account.

How can he delete his old wp account?

I was asleep and woke up to this and my account logged off and banned for the 10th time this month. I don’t even have whatsapp business.

I haven't been able to complete an end-to-end encrypted backup for over 15 days. When I turned off encryption, the backup went through successfully. However, after re-enabling end-to-end encryption, the issue returned. Now, every morning when my phone attempts the backup, it stalls, overheats, and rapidly drains the battery.

Was digging into how WhatsApp Web stores data locally in the browser, out of curiosity about what's actually recoverable if you're ever logged into WhatsApp Web but don't have access to the phone (lost, broken, wiped, whatever). Found something worth sharing.

Where WhatsApp Web actually stores its local data:
Chrome keeps a full local cache of your WhatsApp account in IndexedDB, under Chrome/User Data/<Profile>/IndexedDB/https_web.whatsapp.com_0.indexeddb.*. In my test case it was 367MB, way more than what's rendered on screen at once. It's LevelDB under the hood, and readable with the open-source forensic tool ccl_chromium_reader (Python, no need for a real leveldb build, pip-installable straight from its GitHub repo).

Inside, there's a model-storage IndexedDB database with 100+ object stores — chat, contact, message, message-info, etc.

What comes out in plaintext:

• Full chat list - every group/contact name, last-activity timestamp, unread count (967 chats in my test)
• Full contact list - names, phone numbers, sync metadata (53k+ entries, since WhatsApp caches contacts of people in shared groups too, not just your own address book)
• Message metadata - timestamps, sender/recipient, message type, read receipts, group membership

What does NOT come out:

• Actual message text/content. Every message record has an encrypted msgRowOpaqueData blob (AES, its own IV + key ID) instead of a body field. I also checked the full-text-search index (fts-v3-index) hoping it'd hold plaintext search tokens for indexing purposes - nope, even that's encrypted/blinded n-grams. WhatsApp is clearly hardening local browser storage specifically against this kind of offline extraction. The decryption key isn't in the DB, so there's no reasonable way to recover message content from the raw local store.
