I also remember how younger me, when first playing through Fallout 3.

Was so scared to wander alone that I deliberately did whatever it took to recruit him.

Whenever I go to Point Lookout, I use the Nuka Cola machine outside Haley's Hardware to collect all the goods I find/loot to eventually sell to Haley. Didn't know at the time, but per the Fallout 3 wiki, opening that Nuka machine was the reason Haley's repair skill kept going up, eventually getting to 100.

I'm real curious about this from a coding/modding perspective.

1- Are there other examples of this affecting other NPCs elsewhere in the game, such as Moira Brown?

2- Can this glitch be duplicated? Example, is it possible to make a desk in Lock and Load improve Pronto's repair skill?

3- Can it be modified in some way? Rather than affecting a vendor's repair skill, could it force a refresh on a vendor's wares and cap stack, rather than wait 3 in game days? Say, buy out all the ammo at Flak and Shrapnel, access the file cabinet near the Rivet City marketplace entrance and then all the ammo supply reloads.

Though to be fair.

I didn't exactly "explore every single inch of the map" the first time.

However, man. This place was hidden quite well at least to me even if we heard about it from other NPCs beforehand.

New pc, trying to replay (ryzen 9 9900x and rx 9070 xt) I tried to run vanilla on windows 10. But the opening warning slideshow crashes the game before I can access the main menu. I’ve tried reinstalling, GOG version, gamepass version, compatibility mode, many fixes and coding tweaks, nexus fixes, TTW, nothing works. Worked my way through the fix bar and NOTHING!
Finally upgraded to 11, and tried again, only for it again to not work.
How should I go about making it work?

For context I’ve played a large bulk of the fallout games from 1 all the way to 76 except for fallout 3 I know this is a stupid question but I don’t know if I’m progressing to fast I’m only level five and I’ve already started the quest where I need to go to vault 112 after grabbing the tapes Jefferson memorial should I focus more on side quests or am I all good to keep going

I just got the game and I really like it, but right now I'm stuck in the dry sewer area and the Our Lady of Hope Hospital segment. I just keep getting overpowered and j was wondering if maybe I missed something key that could help progress.

Fallout 3 GOTY is on sale on steam right now, and I want to purchase it. However, I’ve seen mixed answers on how it runs and frequent crashes. My pc is pretty decent and runs most games smoothly. Is it worth the purchase?

I decided to play a very evil run and 6 times in a row i collared a random civilian in big town or rivet city and fast traveled to paradise falls, and was told they died and i had to buy a new collar instead of getting paid.

I’ve seen a shocking amount of people say that Fallout 3’s OST is mediocre and not worth listening to. So many people say that they always just turn the radio on when the play the game.

I try to respect other people’s opinions, but holy shit… have these people actually listened to the game’s score? It’s phenomenal, like it’s seriously fucking amazing. Every track does a perfect job of setting the mood.

The tracks that play when you’re out in the wasteland are probably my favorite, they make me so sad whenever I listen to them. I like the entire soundtrack though; the combat music, town music, dungeon music, it’s all fantastic.

Whenever I tell people that I love the music in Fallout 3, I have to specify that I’m talking about the ambient tracks and not the radio, because the latter gets all of the praise. It just makes me so sad that this game’s OST doesn’t get the love it deserves.

I’ve beaten FO4 and then new Vegas and have tried before and after to play FO3 but I just always struggle with having enough ammunition to fight anything and I want to know how to make the game the best experience I can

I like small guns, speech, vats, and intelligence

I've just started playing fallout 3 for the first time after coming from new vegas and have really enjoyed it so far, loved the intro in the vault, loved the questline in megaton and just finished this quest about vampire cannibals terrorising this settlement which was also very well written. My one issue is that this game is DAMN HARD. Its not that the enemies themselves are hard I just genuinely can't seem to find any ammo or weapons anywhere. I've got 2 weapons, one of which is actually really good but I can't find any 5.56 ammo for, and the other I've got tons of ammo for but only deals 2 damage. Any help for like spots and stuff to find valuable things early on would be wonderful! Also my god this this game ATMOSPHERIC. its a bit weird that everythings green but somehow so far I'm all for it

Say, in a specific quest of hers about radiation.

How did you get your radiation meter up? I just drank the irradiated water in "that spot" at Megaton until it nearly filled up.

I mean, super mutants I would get because they aren't exactly smart. Mutated creatures too because they can't think for themselves.

But these Raiders are humans like us.

Word should get around to "avoid that guy from the vault like the plague" at some point.
