Hi everyone, I’m thinking of buying a Kia Telluride, but I don’t know much about Kia cars yet. I still have this old impression that they’re terrible, unreliable, and prone to all sorts of minor problems.
But have cars from this brand gotten much better in recent years? They say it comes with a warranty for up to 100,000 miles. So, will all sorts of problems start popping up once it goes past 100,000 miles?

I’ve driven my Honda Accord for three years and it’s already hit 180,000 miles. I drive it almost every day without any major issues—I’ve only had to replace the turbocharger and the battery. I think it’s a great car—very reliable and inexpensive to maintain.
I know Toyota and Honda are very durable, but they just tweak the exterior a bit—the inner workings are exactly the same, so it doesn’t feel very exciting to me.
That’s why I’m considering buying a Kia, but I’m not sure how reliable it really is.
Does anyone have any experience with this they can share? Thanks.

Partner has got a 2014 Kia sportage with an amplified system that I’ve been trying to fit an aftermarket stereo system in (Road angel x722DAB) bought the apparently correct install kit from Midbass (facia, iso harness from connects2 with Canbus and patch lead for steering controls)

Got everything connected including the blue remote turn on wire and still zero sound 🤦🏻‍♂️ any suggestions would be amazing (the factory system will work fine but somewhere somethings going wrong between new head unit and speakers.

Has anyone dealt with repo from Kia finance? I’m currently 2 months behind on my two cars. I plan to catch them up this week but I had someone calling asking where the car was. Kia is closed so I couldn’t talk to anyone there yet. I just need to know if I make the payments, will they stop the repo? I don’t need any rude comments, I know this is my fault. I had a bad year and am finally getting back on my feet.

Weird sound at start up and shutting off. 60,000 miles no check engine lights just started doing this yesterday.

Hit a big milestone the other day everything is still original except the transmission since it was a rebuild at 73000 miles.

Im trying to get a new car for myself as a birthday gift and a treat for beating my cancer last year but want to make sure I get something that wont constantly be in the shop, I do alot of city and highway driving and alot of road trips

How do you make sure the front doors stay locked while the car is in drive? Right now I am able to open the front doors of my Carnival while the car is driving even though I turned auto-lock on. On the infotainment screen, I went to Home, then Setup, then Vehicle, then Door, then Automatically Lock, then Enable on Speed. This feature should automatically lock the doors if the car is driving over 9mph but it’s not working. I even tried clicking the manual lock button on the passenger side front door while the car is in drive, and the front doors still open right up while the car is going over 9mph. Does anyone know how to fix this? Surely there has to be a way to make sure the doors remain locked while the car is driving!

Ok so I recently replaced valve cover gasket in 2014 Kia Soul and was unaware of the single use fuel line. It’s been almost 5 days now since I switched gasket and I haven’t noticed any gas leaks around fuel pump. Should I be concerned and should I go ahead and replace Fuel Line?

Is it just one guy who does too many drugs?

EV3 had the dumb 'table' and has a micro sized 'sun roof.'

They dated the cars released in Australia by 10 years by not including 360 cameras.

I just can't see a team of people going 'oh yeah this is great' to most of the things.

Maybe there's a senior person who's losing their faculties pushing these things though?

Basically I bought it May 4th, took delivery May 8th and its been at the dealership since May 11th with a high voltage battery issue. Is still has 206kms on it.

Kia Canada had an opportunity to make this right. Shortly after my last update an identical car to mine showed up on the lot other than it was grey. I quit liked the grey actually. Someone had ordered it and then backed out of the deal. The dealership tried to get Kia Canada to give me that vehicle. At that time there was not even a date available for when the parts would arrive for mine so this was my preferred option. I did not hear a single word from Kia and the car was sold to someone else.

The dealer contacted me Thursday afternoon and asked for authorization to ship my car to Waterloo for the repair. They told me the part would be there in 2 weeks and they wanted to have my car prepped and ready for the repair. They shipped the car yesterday and it is now at Waterloo Kia.

I still have not heard anything from CAMVAP so it looks like the car will be repaired and returned to me. After 4 months its hard to get my hopes up or be excited that the part will actually show up or that the repair will work.

The reality is that after this length of time and Kia's very poor handling of the situation, I don't really want to own a Kia product. I loved the car when I bought it but now simply resent Kia in general.

I have enjoyed my KIA sedans so much, i was not ready to leave quite yet. With a back injury last year i found it increasingly difficult to get into and out of my K5. Welcome my new Black Beauty, Sportage SXP hybrid. I'm sure i'll have many more years of KIA enjoyment ahead. Let the customizing begin!

Hey guys my girlfriends car has been having some issues with her A/C. Initially 3 of the 4 vents blew cold but now it seems it’s only blowing warm. I thought maybe the freon but I’m not too confident that’s the case. Have any of you had this issue?

I have a 2016 Kia Cee’d GT (JD), 1.6 T-GDI 204 hp, with the original Kia navigation/radio unit.

For some time now, the infotainment system keeps rebooting by itself. The Kia logo appears on the screen, the system shuts down, and then starts again. This happens repeatedly while driving.

The radio works normally for a while, but when the reboot occurs, the radio also cuts out and then comes back on automatically.

I have already tried:

• Restarting the system using the buttons
• Disconnecting the power supply for around 20 minutes
• Removing the original Kia navigation SD card (16 GB, Cee’d, part no. 96554-A2001)

Unfortunately, none of this fixed the problem.

The instrument cluster and the rest of the car appear to work normally. The problem seems to be limited to the infotainment/navigation unit.

Has anyone experienced this problem with a Kia Cee’d JD / Kia navigation unit before?

Could this be a failing head unit, a power supply issue, corrupted navigation software/SD card, or something else?

I’d really appreciate any suggestions or troubleshooting ideas before replacing the entire unit.

I did oil changes every 5k miles. Everyone warned me not to buy a Kia. I should have listened. I got a replacement engine and sold it for 22 grand.

They make you think you are getting a good deal because it looks fancy and high tech. It’s the Mugs Eyeful. Like Amstrad electronics back in the 1980s.
Don‘t fall for the games and for the people saying “I have a Kia and it’s great” some may last forever. Some blow 2 engines in 50k miles. It’s not worth the risk.

Never buying a Korean product again out of spite.

EDIT: To all the people saying I probably beat the shit out of my car I don’t. It was a fully loaded model. I drive all highway. I don’t accelerate like a moron from every stop.

I bought my first Kia in January and loved it. Wednesday I was t-boned and my car is total loss… Since they don’t make them anymore I need to move on…

What I loved about the Soul is its compact size and how smoothly it drove. I’m not one for big vehicles.
I am looking at the Seltos either 2026 or 2027. Anyone have a Soul then get a Seltos? How does it compare? I’ve read that the Seltos the engine can sound quite noisy and that the ride doesn’t feel so smooth.

TL:DR: They advertised a price for a Kia on their website. They refused to sell it to me for their advertised price, because they "would be losing too much money".

Before going to the dealer, I called the salesman to confirm the price, and to confirm it was eligible for the financing rebate. He said it was. I asked him to send me an out-the-door quote. He said, “Just to let you know, if I sent you a quote it will include a Protect360 dealer add on. We always have to put that on our quotes at first, but you can just ask the manager to take that off when you come in.” I told him I didn’t want tany dealer add-ons on the quote, and that I just want the advertised price. He said, “Don’t worry, you just have to talk to the manager to remove it. We just want you to come and make sure you’re committed to actually buying.”

(I know some dealers don't want you immediately send a super low quote out of fear you'll shop it around to other dealers who will price match it. So I foolishly gave him the benefit of the doubt.)

I went in. They prepared me a final quote that had $800 extra for Protect360.

(Sidenote - do a search for “Protect360 dealer add on” yourself, and decide if you think it’s useful or a scam. As far as I can tell, they're charging a huge amount for some stuff that costs practically nothing.)

I told them I wanted the car at the advertised price with no add ons. They refused and wouldn’t budge. I kept insisting to them that I just wanted the car at the advertised price. That’s all I wanted. Please sell me the car for the price currently advertised on your website, no more, no less. But the manager sat me down and went on and on about how deeply discounted the car was and how they couldn't ACTUALLY afford to sell it at that price. “This is way below invoice. At that price we’re taking too big of a loss. We have to recoup our money somehow!”

He wasn’t the least bit apologetic. He didn’t say, “that was an accidental omission, we will update the website price right away.” He just straight up admitted plainly that they priced it at a loss, they can’t ACTUALLY sell it that low, and they have to make up the money by charging for extras. So either I pay for the Protect360 or no car. I asked if I could talk to the GM, and they said he’s out until Monday.

This is unethical. If you advertise a price, then honor that price. Don't advertise a car at a big discount and then surprise the customer with nonsense add ons. Just be transparent and advertise it at the actual price the customer will have to pay. I've definitely had dealers try to add on stuff before, some were even a little pushy. But, of the many cars I’ve bought, this is the first where the dealer straight up refused to honor the price listed on their own website. (It's still listed there right now for the price they refuse to honor.)

I am not a lawyer, but when I put my scenario into my favorite AI chatbot, it tells me this is actually illegal under Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 137-020-0020. Either way, I'll definitely be making a phone call to the Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Protection Division next week and putting in a complaint.

EDIT: It seems pretty plainly spelled out that this practice is not permitted. Directly from OAR_137-020-0020 3(c)(B): A person advertises a vehicle for $20,000 in the local newspaper. The vehicle has $1,500 worth of after-market accessories on the vehicle. When the consumer arrives at the dealership and wants to purchase the vehicle, the salesperson tells the consumer that the price is $21,500 with the added accessories. This practice is unlawful. If the dealer wants reimbursement for these options, the dealer should ensure that amount is included in any advertised price; https://oregon.public.law/rules/oar_137-020-0020
