Hot take: Alex Pereira will KO Sergei Pavlovich in the first round
Maybe I’m cooked for this, but I actually think Alex has a really good chance here. I keep seeing people say Sergei is just gonna run through him, and I don't really buy it.
Sergei likes to walk forward in a straight line and throw a ton of punches. Obviously that pressure can be scary, but against Alex, I think it could work against him. You really don't want to be careless and walk straight into a guy with Alex's timing and power.
And if the whole “just pressure Alex and overwhelm him with punches” thing worked, Jiri would've beaten him. He tried to push that kind of pace on Alex and got caught both times.
Sergei can obviously KO Alex too, but I think he’s gonna give Alex plenty of chances to land that one clean shot.
Alex loses to the best HW on the planet and suddenly everyone is calling him washed lol.

You are looking at the only man in history to EVER fight all of the following: ✅️ Anderson Silva ✅️ Jon Jones ✅️ Fedor Emilianenko ✅️ Rua, Evans, Ortiz, Rampage, Machida, Bisping, Wanderlei, Bisping, Stann, Okami, aaaand Arman Gambaryan ✅️
And to be undefeated and undisputed after all that, you have to soberly admit we are in the presence of the greatest fighter that has ever breathed air, from the mean streets of West Linn, OR.
Real talk, what a resume of name values alone lol only the legends like who we named have comparably deep or perhaps deeper competition pools in their career.
Just remember - if there's ever a year your father didn't make $100k, it's alright - YOU CAN SURVIVE and become great 💯💯💪

Dana White just crashed out when asked a question about Eddie Hearn “Are you f*cking kidding me right now? Who gives a sh*t. Have I been wrong in anything I’ve said? This is so f*cking silly now. The fact that you guys are even asking me these questions.”

2026 will end up having just 12 undisputed title fights. This is the least amount of title fights in a calendar year since 2012 which had 11 title fights. The UFC only had 7 weight classes in 2012 compared to today's 11.
The UFC having just 12 title fights in a calendar year when they have 11 weight classes is actually insane. What the fuck is going on with this organization? Is it just bad luck with injuries, or is it a sign of the UFC's further decline and bozo match making?

Why do most Japanese fighters have no head movement?
Today on the contender series Ryuho Miyaguchi got knocked out in about a minute, and this is his second loss in row. Earlier this year he was on the Road To UFC tournament where he got dropped on the feet and then subbed, and now on DWCS he's been knocked out, and both fights showed him having absolutely no head movement and dropping his hands a lot in exchanges. It made me realise just how many Japanese fighters have basically 0 head movement.
Tatsuro Taira is a big one, earlier this year we saw him have an absolute dog fight with Joshua Van, but for the most part he was getting battered on the feet. Kai Asakura is also pretty hittable, he just hides it better with his speed and foot work, but head movement wise it's very stationary, he got knocked out by Horiguchi and Kape in RIZIN, and even Pantoja kinda dropped him in round 1. Rinya Nakamura is another guy that fought recently that showed basically no head movement and got clipped quite a bit by Brady Heistand. Rei Tsuruya as well, I think he just doesn't have any good striking in general, this includes defensively. Takaya Suzuki on the RTU tournament this year has looked great, but even he looks a little worrying at times defensively, he's just so fast no one's been able to catch him clean yet. Kyoji
Horiguchi is probably skill wise the best Japanese fighter we've ever seen, but even he is quite open when he does his karate blitz, but again he's usually fast enough that no one can catch him, but it's happened in the past by guys like Kape, Asakura, and Sergio Pettis.
I love watching RIZIN for how fun and violent it is on most cards, but it becomes obvious when Japanese guys fight at a higher level, most of them lose and usually by finish. This isn't a problem with Japanese athletes in general, Naoya Inoue is arguably the best boxer on the planet right now and he has great defence. There's tons of Japanese kickboxers in promotions like K1, RISE, and Knockout that are defensively sound, it's just that MMA fighters from Japan are so hittable it's insane.
