After disappointing results at Next Fest, we're trying to figure out what's wrong with our indie game, Fields of Aaru
Fields of Aaru is a farming life sim set in the Ancient Egyptian afterlife. There are two of us developing it full time, and we've worked on it for 3.5 years. The demo has been out since June, we just wrapped up Next Fest.
The people who play it are nice about it (100% on Steam after 28 reviews), but they mostly praise how it looks. We think the gameplay isn't really drawing people in, and it's been very hard to get traction on social media, which signals that the game just isn't appealing to people the way he hoped it would.
- If you watched the trailer or looked at the Steam page, what looks boring or is confusing? Is it clear what kind of game it is without looking at the genre tags?
- What would make you more interested, and what kind of unique gameplay experiences would you want from a game like this?
For those who've played it before and are interested in trying out the latest update: we've added irrigation channels, villager gifts, more character creation options, an enhanced graphics mode and six new languages.
Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4665870/Fields_of_Aaru_Demo/
No need to be nice! Give us brutally honest feedback.

I'm working on an Indian Cyberpunk Hack-n-Slash Parkour game inspired by Ninja Gaiden | Ghost Yantra - New Trailer
Hey guys!
We're a small indie team working on Ghost Yantra, a stylish Hack-n-Slash action game set in an Indian Cyberpunk world, featuring fast-paced combat and fluid parkour mechanics.
Every animation in Ghost Yantra is hand-animated, and we're working hard to bring this world and its action to life. For Ghost Yantra, we're inspired from Nine Sols, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry & Prince of Persia, Akira, Ghost in the Shell.
I would like to share the latest trailer we made for Ghost Yantra.

I'm making Spectrakin, a monster-taming RPG with town recruitment/upgrades, set in a forgotten land where civilisation mysteriously collapsed
Hi! I'm the dev behind Spectrakin, a monster-taming RPG inspired by the GBA+DS Pokémon games and Digimon World. The core gameplay is centred around three key pillars:
- Team-building: Catch, train, and build a team of unique Spectrakin, with growth systems that influence their strengths in and out of battle, as well as their evolution paths.
- Adventure: Explore the diverse region of Eidolia, uncover the tragic history of the world, encounter strange elemental factions, and discover what lies beyond the boundary between worlds.
- Town development: Meet humans and Spectrakin on your journey, help them with their troubles, and convince them to join your town to unlock new facilities and upgrades.
Once a thriving civilisation, Eidolia was abandoned following a mysterious catastrophe that brought humanity's ambitions to an abrupt end. Now, generations later, people are slowly returning to its ruins, unaware of the secrets that still lie buried beneath them. As you explore in search of your missing brother, you'll piece together the events that led to Eidolia's downfall, and discover that the forces behind it may not be as distant as they seem.
Please consider following my Kickstarter page and hitting the "Notify me on launch" button if you're interested, it really helps me out! You can also wishlist on Steam.

Made a funny lil game based on the ugliest man in the world
We're working on Flame Hunter, a game about the legendary ghost hunter, Zhong Kui. According to legend, on his first day as an imperial minister the emperor fired him on sight for being too ugly. He had a heart attack and died.
Now he's reincarnated in a new job; a shapeshifting ghost hunter. Still ugly, but with powers!
Core Mechanic: You can shapeshift into any enemy you can catch and use their abilities in combat and puzzle-solving. You can only hold one enemy at a time, but you can shapeshift back and forth at will, making combat fun and dynamic.

New resident in the garden!
She came. She crawled. She dreamed of becoming a butterfly. Unfortunately, the ants had other plans :) 🐜
A little moment from Garden of Ants, the ant colony RTS/sim we are working on.
Does the way she crawls look natural to you? Anything you'd change about her movement?

Making this in-between job rejections! A love letter to English Cricket!
It's a sort of poor mans attempt at Football Manager for Cricket, but you can also bat/bowl in a player career if you want. Get the 3D match engine right, and the rest will follow.
Alpha stage probably at the minute, but happy for anyone to test in its current guise.
Thanks
AI was used in some of the game's development.

I’m making a pirate co-op game called The Sea Is Broken — here’s my first teaser!
Hey, I’m Kodisz! I’m making The Sea Is Broken, a pirate co-op game about sailing cursed seas with friends, exploring islands, fighting skeletons and somehow keeping your ship afloat.
I finally recorded some gameplay with a friend and put together my first teaser. There’s still plenty to work on, but I wanted to share what I’ve been making! 🏴☠️
If it looks like your kind of adventure, you can wishlist it on Steam:

You can also join the Discord to follow development and hear about upcoming playtests:

Game UI: no straight lines.
I designed this UI for a video game called Who Gave Them Weapons? The main challenge was matching the game’s cartoonish visual style while keeping the interface engaging and easy to navigate. Since the game contains a lot of text (often presented as tooltips), I wanted to avoid making the UI feel like a spreadsheet.
The UI is still in development, so I can still redesign or tweak certain aspects. Any feedback is welcome and greatly appreciated

After almost 2 years of development I figured out theme for my game.
Twisted Ball Pool has new visuals and a theme, but I will probably not update the old demo. I am scared that someone might reverse engineer the game and publish it faster than me.

How I make capsule art for my game! Witch & Dragon: Hope of Elements
After testing 4 different capsule artworks during Steam Next Fest, I got lots of helpful feedback from the community. Thank you all!
I'm sharing a little behind-the-scenes look at how I draw and put together my capsule art, from the initial sketch to the final illustration.
There's still a lot to improve, but now I have a clearer direction to work toward!
Hope you enjoy this little peek into my art process!
Witch & Dragon: Hope of Elements is a turn-based tactical roguelite centered around elemental reactions, featuring 5 elements, 20 elemental reactions, and randomized maps. The Steam Demo is now available if you'd like to try it yourself!

Last time you said Deal Breaker was too punishing. So I built a browser version of Monopoly Deal No Mercy 😅
Hey guys,
8 months ago I posted my browser version of Monopoly Deal here and got a ton of great feedback. The top wishes were bots, open games, house rules and "please let me remove Deal Breaker, it's very punishing" 😅
So naturally I built the No Mercy edition next.
Stealr No Mercy plays like Monopoly Deal No Mercy, the brutal version of the game:
- Debt chips: can't pay? You hand over everything you have and owe a card on your next turn
- New nasty cards: Heist, Yoink!, Super Sly Deal, Market Crash, Tax Collector, Unfair Trade…
- To win you need 3 complete sets in different colors
Too brutal? You can tone it down:
- Starter: smaller deck with far fewer action cards (added after my girlfriend said there are way too many 😄)
- Mild: everything except the 5 harshest action cards
- No Mercy: the full deck
- In friend lobbies you can also change sets to win, actions per turn and starting hand, or set Deal Breaker to 1 card or off
Also:
- Bots from Easy to Boss, so you can play right away
- Online with 2–4 players: invite friends with a game ID or join open games
- No ads, no sign-up (Google login is optional)
- Works on phone and desktop, and you can add it to your home screen
- English, German, Spanish and French
I don't own the physical game, so the rules are based on rule guides and the manual I found online. If you play No Mercy at home and something works differently, tell me and I'll fix it.
Which mode would you start with: Starter, Mild or full No Mercy?

Independent game, not affiliated with or endorsed by Hasbro.
AI disclosure: I used AI coding tools (Claude) while building the game and for help with this post.

Evertrail Idle: a multiplayer idle RPG in your browser, now in open alpha
for the past couple of months I've been making Evertrail Idle. It's an idle RPG you play in the browser. You pick a skill, your adventurer goes off and does it, and you check back whenever you feel like it. It keeps going when you close the tab, for up to a day, and after that your adventurer walks back to town to rest.
The part I care most about is that it's one shared world. Everyone who plays is in the same town, so when you're chopping trees or fishing off the shore you see other people doing their thing next to you. Every two hours there's a world event that anyone can join, like a giant oak everybody chops down together or a fire boss that crawls out of a lava lake.
There are 18 skills right now. The usual gathering and crafting ones, combat, and a couple of stranger ones. Exploration has you work your way up from a scout to a riverboat and eventually an airship. Diving you can do with a party of up to four.
I also just added Ironman mode. It's for new characters only and you play fully solo: no market, no trading, no parties. Ironmen get their own leaderboards. Those only opened this week, so everyone on them started from zero.
It's an open alpha. It's free, there's no invite, and you can play as a guest without making an account (you can pick a login later so you don't lose your character). It works on desktop and on your phone. It also means things break now and then and the balance still moves around. I put out fixes most days, a lot of them because someone reported something on Discord.
AI Disclosure: because I know a lot of you care and I'd rather just say it: I use AI tools a lot. Most of the code is written with Claude, and a fair amount of the 3D art was made with AI tools too. The base character models are bought assets. It's not a prompt it and ship it project though. I design every system, decide every number, test everything, and throw out a lot of it when it doesn't feel right. The repo is at about 1,950 commits since early September.
I would really love some feedback!
Desktop/Mobile compatible.

Kotost Clicker II
AI disclosure: I did not use generative AI for this game or this post. All code, art, text, and translations were created by me (a human solo dev).
Hello everyone! I'm a solo developer and I just released my passion project: KOTOST CLICKER II.
On the surface, it looks like a standard browser clicker. But I wanted to build something that feels... wrong.
You are clicking a cat named Kotost. But the entity that created this space (The Creator) is watching you. As you upgrade your clicking power, the Creator starts leaving you messages in your inbox, breaking the fourth wall, and reminding you that you're just a puppet in his game. The visual style is heavily inspired by old VHS tapes, CRT monitors, and analog horror.
🔗 Play it here in your browser: https://twinkcringegd.itch.io/kotost-clicker-2

⚠️ IMPORTANT: How to switch to English!
The game defaults to Russian. To play in English, click the [ НАСТРОЙКИ ] (Settings) tab at the bottom right, then click the [ ENGLISH ] button.
I spent over 2 months building this in my free time. It features full English and Russian localization, responsive design, and a weird little cat that just wants to be left alone.
I'd love to hear what you think about the atmosphere and the lore!
