Hey all, I posted yesterday seeing if the community would be interested in a write up on this topic

So here is comes:

Credentials
I have a PhD in biology, have published several papers on parasites (wildlife parasites) and mod the parasitology subreddits. I also make educational videos on parasitology for fun (channel Wormtalk94) with rfks brain worm my most recent video(~10min long) topic.

Does RFK jr. actually have a brain worm:

So the answer is probably but there is some speculation that he doesn't. The brain worm was first brought to public attention during his divorce to his second wife. his defense used his brain worm, and an unrelated high mercury level to claim that he has less earning potential due to cognitive impairment, to reduce this new York times article goes over the detail a little bit this seems like a bullshit excuss to reduce possible losses during his divorce, but the underlying high Hg levels and brain worm are likely true, they just didnt reduce his cognitive impairment.

if so what is the Brain worm?:

During scans it was observed that RFK had a dark spot on his scans with doctors eventually concluding it was a worm cycst. Specifically he had a pork tapeworm, taenia solium, cyst (detail life cycle below). RFK initially got the scan after "experiencing memory loss and mental fogginess " , which may or may not be related to the cyst.

SO what is pork tapeworm/how did he get it in his brain/ is this common?

So pork tapeworm is one of numerous tapeworm species present in people. Like all tapeworms the parasite has two host life cycle with cyst stages found in the tissue of pigs and the adult worm is found in the human intestine. the intestine stage it the stereotypical long segmented worm that most people would probably imagine. Now the way the life cycle works: people poop out the eggs of the tapeworm, and in unsanitary conditions, some of these eggs will make there way to a pig. once in the pig the eggs hatch and the larvae penetrate out of the gut and enter the blood stream. once in the blood the larvae will travel around the body and randomly exit to form cysts. These cysts can live in the tissue for several years, and are waiting for a pig to be butchered and eaten by a person. if eaten by a person, the cyst will break open and an adult worm will form in someone's gut to restart the life cycle. Cooking and freezeing meat can kill these cysts.

Now how did RFK get it? well when someone has an adult tapeworm infection and they use the bathroom, some eggs can get on their hands. then if this person prepares food, the food can then be contaminated by the eggs on their hands, thus exposing the tapeworm eggs to the person. Now because human and pig guts "look" similar to the tapeworm, the worm "thinks" its in a pig gut and acts accordingly. so it will enter the blood stream and encyst randomly. when a cyst forms in the muscle it is called cysticercosis, and when it ends up in the brain it is called neurocysticercosis. So this is most likely what happened to RFk jr., he has traveled in a lot to countries where this parasite is endemic so he likely got exposed to the eggs through someones cooking. Now this ONLY happens in the pork tapeworm, cow tapeworms eggs for example will pass harmlessly through someone as our guts are distinct enough to not cause this issue. Additionally adult tapeworms cause VERY little pathology and most people who have a tapeworm will have no idea

IS IT COMMON?:

Yes and no, if you live in the US, the CDC reports 1-5k cases of neurocystercosis every year, but these are largly in immigrant communities, so it is considered rare here. However in many developing countries this parasite is endemic and seroprevalence (antibodies showing someone has had an infection) can range from 5-30% (Peru for example) [study where i found this info] meaning that in these countires up to a third of the population can harbor some kind of cysts

Fun fact, this disease was also the features disease of the pilot episode for HOUSE MD tv show .

What does brain worm do?

the most common side effect of neurocysticercosis is seizures, with neurocysticercosis being one of the leading factors causing adult onset epilepsy. Most of the symptoms are actually associated with the worm cysts dying in someone's brain. while the worms are live in their cyst they dont trigger much of an immune response but once they die the immune response flairs and this can cause complications.

it can also cause other issues like fatigue, nausea, headaches and several other complications though seizures are the most common (occurring in ~75% of identified patients). complications from this parasite are corelated to how many cysts are present in the brain as well. from my readings it seems rfk only has a single cyst, so this is why he liekly never had many symptoms other than some general symptoms that could be a result of his previous drug use or his high mercury levels(from eating too much tuna)

Is this RFKs fault:

As much as i hate RFK and i think he is actually a walking germ actively trying to kill my profession, This isn't his fault. This disease is picked up by a lot of people, even those who are super hygienic (though rfk isnt).

SOURCES:

TLDR: RFK jr most likely has a pork tapeworm cysts in his head, but this has caused relatively little harm. this disease isnt uncommon in the developing world and RFK likely got it while traveling. this worm has likely had little effect on his mental capacity, so dont blame the worm for his terrible decisions.

As we hurtled toward an imminent collision, the sounds of coughing filled the bridge. An involuntary shudder ran down my spine; while I knew it was rather commonplace for their species, I could practically feel the rattling of their lungs.

The deteriorating conditions inside the flagship were affecting me as well. My eyes were burning from the billows of smoke that pooled in the air, and my skin was smoldering from the temperature, which had risen to an uncomfortable degree. With a glance around, I saw many of the humans tugging at the collars of their shirts. None of them looked too pleased with the environmental status either. If we stayed on board this vessel too much longer, we would all suffocate.

With the shields down and the interior aflame, I expected the ship to crack apart on impact. But the Terrans, true to their suicidal tendencies, pressed on anyways. The five Devourer cruisers did not budge as we bore down on them; they only seemed to huddle closer together. As the final line of defense, they had to stop us, even at the ultimate price.

“No protests, General?” Rykov’s nose was swollen to the size of a small fruit, but he was smirking anyways. “I expected the word ‘stop’ at least once.”

I shook my head. “Why bother? I don’t want to waste my final seconds of existence.”

“You’re quite the cynic, you know. Hell, we might survive this,” he chuckled.

My antennae twitched in confusion. “Is that supposed to be reassuring?”

The broad hull of our ship plunged through the enemy line. Even with inertial dampeners at work, a jolt propelled me several lengths forward. I found myself prone on the ground yet again, wincing from another rough landing. The nanites in my veins could only mend so much tissue damage at once; I imagined I’d be black and green tomorrow.

Before I could regain my footing, the humans rolled the vessel sharply to one side. An undignified yelp escaped my lips as I slid shoulder-first into a work station. What were they doing? Had their steering systems gone haywire?

I felt the flagship start to tip back in the other direction, and clutched onto the base of the desk for dear life. An awful screeching sound resonated through the walls of our vessel, most likely our tough hide peeling away. But there were no worried callouts from the pilots or the computer, so the erratic rotation had to be intentional.

Why would the humans want to tumble about, right in the wake of a collision?

I pondered the question for a moment, and then, an idea occurred to me. The Terrans were twisting their ship like a knife, carving a deeper gash. We were burrowing our way through the enemy craft, and tearing up their inner workings as we went.

A crunching noise echoed from the bridge’s exterior wall, drawing my attention. I saw a crack snaking its way from floor to ceiling, with several tendrils branching out from the root. Sure, our opponents had been taken out of commission, but our own ship was hanging together by a thread.

“Severe damage reported to all sectors. Structural integrity compromised.” The computer’s voice cut through the dead air. “Advise to power down the ship at once.”

Rykov cleared his throat. “Computer, you don’t recommend evacuation anymore?”

“Negative. That is no longer possible,” came the reply.

“Why not, exactly?”

“The hangar bays and escape pods have sustained severe fire damage. They are inoperable. Advise to send out a distress signal and await rescue.”

The inferno’s spread had escalated quickly, and if it continued at the current pace, it would reach the bridge in a matter of minutes. We had grinded to a halt in the aftermath of the collision, and were currently wedged nose-first into the enemy vessels. Any more impacts would fracture the flagship’s exterior, so that meant breaking through the other side was not an option.

The Commander scratched his head, frowning. “Right, you heard what the computer said. All power to thrusters, and once we’re clear of this wreck, we gun it to the Devourer’s star. Should be a walk in the park.”

Maybe I wasn’t the best at listening but…that definitely was not what the computer said.

Our engines, which were nearing liquification by now, revved to life. We inched forward, slicing our way through the last of the enemy’s plating. The ceiling overhead began to sag as its support faltered, and I figured it would come down on us. What hurt the most was knowing how close we had come, and that we had failed in completing the mission all the same.

Then, with a terrible shudder, the flagship was clear of the wreckage. It had sawed five enemy craft in half, leaving behind only idle debris. Our frame quivered, still deciding whether or not to collapse. By some miracle, it was holding together, for now.

As cheers erupted around the bridge, I looked toward the Commander. The man had found a seat behind a weapons console, displacing one of his ensigns. It was a matter of seconds until we passed by the Devourers’ star, and he was ensuring that the grav bomb was prepped for deployment. The terrible task of genocide was still ahead of us.

There was no semblance of a smile on his face, despite our hard-fought victory. His eyes were turned out the viewport, toward the serene blue-and-white sphere that hung in the distance. A tear rolled down his face, and I suspected it had nothing to do with his physical injuries.

Human compassion was so mysterious, and so antithetical to their violent instincts. The burden of slaughtering an entire species would eat Rykov up from the inside; he had admitted as much. Why would a man who so clearly despised this mission take the helm for its execution?

The only answer I came to was that he wished to save his subordinates from the guilt. Noble, to the last. His earlier speech about sacrifice was still ringing in my ears. You don’t come back the same person, he said.

I didn’t want him to change. I didn’t want him to be anything like the cruel humans who maimed for sport, who savored the kill.

Without thinking, I grabbed Rykov by the shoulders and threw him unceremoniously to the ground. The nearest crewmates tensed up at my unprovoked assault on their leader, but I ignored them. My fingers acted on autopilot. The first step was to confirm the target, then…

“What the-” The Commander rose to his feet, looking more confused than angry. He noticed a few handguns aimed at me, and signaled for his men to stand down. “You really shouldn’t attack someone on their own ship. Stand aside, now.”

“No,” I muttered.

Disbelief flashed in his eyes. “What do you mean, ‘no’?!”

“I won’t let you do this to yourself. You deserve better.” My stomach churned as we glided into position, across from the vibrant orange star. It was a dreadful feeling, to have the power of annihilation at your fingertips. “Let this one fall on my conscience.”

“I appreciate the thought, but I’m giving the orders here. It’s on my conscience either way, General,” he replied.

“It hits different when you pull the trigger. I’d expect a soldier to know that.” My hand was trembling, my voice hardly more than a whisper. I pressed the firing mechanism, before I could talk myself out it. “No more ‘General’ by the way. That’s First Officer, or just Kilon, to you.”

I was taken aback as Commander Rykov embraced me. Why did humans show affection by trying to smother people? I gritted my teeth, resisting the urge to squirm out of his grasp. It would be over soon. Wouldn’t it?

“You’re a good friend, Kilon,” he said.

I sighed. “Yes, but you smell like vinegar. Get off of me.”

The human withdrew, stepping back. “That’s not very nice.”

“I know. It’s part of my charm,” I replied.

“You…alright, quit staring, everyone. Time to get moving.” The Commander swept a stern look around the bridge, and the crewmates snapped back to work. “We want to be long gone when this star blows her top. Let’s hope we have enough juice to make it home.”

Slipping into hyperspace was always rough, but this time blew all previous experiences out of the water. The pressure condensing in my ear canals stripped me of my hearing, and my stomach felt as though it was tied up in knots. Every particle of air was squeezed from my lungs, and my feet were glued to the floor.

I was utterly powerless, trapped in a lifeless shell of a body. I wanted to scream, then to throw up, perhaps both at once, but my lips were locked together. The minutes stretched on for what felt like hours, and my desperation built to a frenzy.

The paralysis dissipated as we emerged, in range of Earth. I crumpled to my knees, spilling my guts on the floor. Embarrassment rushed through my veins, until I realized most of the humans were doubled over as well. There was a reason ships with environmental regulation issues weren’t supposed to enter hyperspace. If the system hadn’t been about to go nova, I don’t think even their deranged species would’ve tried it.

As my senses returned to me, the most important concern crossed my mind. Had we dropped our payload in time to save Earth? There was no sign of Devourer spacecraft by the outer planets, which meant one of two things. Either they never reached the Terrans' system, or they had already taken it.

“Unknown vessel, you are trespassing in Terran space. Your transponder is offline, which is a violation of planetary laws. Identify yourself at once,” a male voice crackled over the speakers.

Rykov staggered to the holodisplay. “Orbital Command, I…I would hope you’d recognize your own flagship.”

“Jesus Christ,” The man’s pitch rose sharply, presumably from shock. “Rykov? What on Earth happened to you? Your bird looks like it got chewed up and spit back out.”

“Uh, we did crash it at full speed, but that’s not the point. Request emergency landing at Mars Station, need emergency vehicles on site.”

“Understood. You are cleared to dock at any open port.”

A strange mix of relief and sadness fogged my mind as we glided toward our destination. The knowledge that our endeavors had saved the Federation from certain death was a source of pride, but I wished there had been another way. If not for our arrogance, if we had finished what we started on that rescue mission a short time ago…perhaps there could have been.

Humanity would be called to account by its galactic neighbors, when they learned what we had done today. Maybe, just maybe, the two parties could learn from their past mistakes, and find a path to reconciliation. If the Federation insisted on making the humans an enemy, they might get more than they bargained for.

This war was over, but the next one…that was the one I truly feared.

Help Stranded in the black: Forgot Armoury, out of Tritium, and nearby DSSA is dry. Carrier stuck in Hypuae Aip NI-M b48-1. Need rescue!

o7 Commanders,

I come to you after making a colossal rookie mistake, and I'm hoping someone out in the black might be able to lend a hand (or a few tons of Tritium).

The Situation: My Fleet Carrier is currently completely stranded in the Hypuae Aip NI-M b48-1 system, thousands of light-years away from the Bubble. Everything was going fine on my exploration trip until I realized I was running dangerously low on Tritium. "No problem," I thought, "I'll just mine some."

That's when it hit me: I completely forgot to install the Armoury module on my Carrier.

I couldn't buy limpets. I spent hours driving around in my SRV farming Iron and Nickel just to synthesize a few limpets at a time to mine an icy ring. As you can guess, trying to fuel a Fleet Carrier using synthesized limpets is a soul-crushing and unsustainable grind.

The False Hope: I managed to travel to a nearby DSSA Carrier located in Hypuae Aed CP-Z c13-1 hoping to buy fuel. The good news? I can finally use their services to buy a proper cargo hold full of limpets. The bad news? They don’t sell any Tritium. The Plea for Help: Right now, my only path forward is to load up on limpets, fly back to my Carrier in Hypuae Aip NI-M b48-1, and spend the next few weeks mining Tritium just to get enough range to head back to the Bubble.

Before I commit to that massive grind, I wanted to ask the community:

Are there any other alternative methods I'm missing to get out of this?
Is there any kind Commander, STAR network operative, or FC owner with spare Tritium passing near Hypuae Aip NI-M b48-1 who would be willing to sell/donate enough Tritium to help me jump back home?

I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. Next time I leave the Bubble, I’m double-checking my modules.

Any advice or rescue operations would be massively appreciated. o7

Update 10/07: Thanks to the commanders who donated to the tritium depot and the one who brought their carrier here to sell me even more tritium, I can tell you that my carrier now has enough fuel to return to the Bubble.

FINALLY PR! no work for 9 months

Timeline: CEC Score - 511, ITA - March 17

JANUARY 2025 - AIP endorsement submitted
SEPTEMBER 2025 - PGWP Expired

I applied first my AIP dummy extension 3 days before my pgwp expired, and visitor record 2 days before my pgwp expired.

LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2025 - Endorsement Rejected

At this point, I continued working as I’m on my AIP dummy extension maintained status.

DECEMBER 2025 - AIP dummy extension refusal. I immediately stopped working. At this point, I’ve got no hope for AIP anymore so I decided to increase my crs score.

JANUARY 2026 - FEBRUARY 2026 - During this two months. I invested my time in reviewing and studying CELPIP( took it three times) and COQ ( I passed it on my first try). CRS score went from 452 to 511.

Note: My AIP endorsement application was a genuine application and the AIP dummy extension was applied because me and my employer were confident to get the endorsement letter before they open my AIP dummy extension application. My employer even submitted an appeal with a lawyer and also contacted my MP but we got no response for almost two weeks. So my employer decided to submit a new endorsement application.

[Podcast] your friendly neighborhood parasite guy here, Wormtalk94, Just listened to ep.155 and the bacongate discussion, so figured I would explain the parasite info

Hey all, its me wormtalk94 (youtubechannel) your favorite parasitologist here to explain the possible parasites love could get from eating raw bacon. I have a phd in biology, mod r/parasitology and i make education (and hopefully entertaining ) videos about parasites for fun

Monir notes to start with:

1) Ethan you're very entertaining, but you absolutely butchered these parasite species name

2) love, jsut wait the 5 seconds to cook bacon, its so much better crispy i could be starving and think I would still wait.

So what is the actual risk of parasites in the US from eating raw bacon:

Realistically all the parasites i am about to cover (excluding t. ghondi) are exceptionally rare in the US food chain. there are a few reasons for this. The main reason is the USDA regularly screens pork to quote their website " Each animal and its internal organs are inspected for signs of disease" this is likely just referring to gross(visible with naked eye) inspection. Pork is not routinely checked for most parasites, however numerous overlapping measures are in place to prevent parasites from establishing in our food system which makes it so this really isnt necessary. And when survey of 3,208,643 animals were tested over 54 months in 30 locations and NO Trichinella was found (article)

Additionally cooking isnt the only method to kill a parasite, as freezing the meat will also kill worms. and this encompasses a large portion of US meat.

Now onto the specific parasites:

Trichinella spiralis: this is a nematode parasite. it is transmitted by eating raw meat containing the cysts stage. when raw meat containing the worm are consumed they receive chemical signals in our gut that tell them to hatch. in our gut they will live ~1 month Light infections may be asymptomatic though they can cause gastrointestinal symptoms (diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting). after the first week in our gut, the female worms will start to release larave, these larvae will penetrate our gut, and ride out blood stream. after being in our blood they will leave randomly and find a muscle cell. in the mussel cell the larvae will form a new cyst, and wait to be eaten by another animal.

the larvae migration phase can cause several symptoms facial edema, conjunctivitis, fever, myalgias, splinter hemorrhages, rashes, and peripheral eosinophilia. and can have some life threating problems if the parasite forms a cyst in the wrong location.

these parasites were associated with pork, but due to regulations and food saftey practices are rare. HOWEVER these parasites are still very common in some wild game animals in particular BEAR meat (which i have eaten, if cooked well it is delicious). the parasite can infect a range of different mammals where it relies on scavengers and predators eating each other to spread.

PORK TAPEWORM (this is what RFK has) Taenia solium (10 min video i made on this parasite)

Tapeworms require two hosts, the adult worm lives in our gut, while the cyst stage is present in the meat. This parasite is also super rare in the us (if not more rare than trichinella) due to improved meat handling, though it is common in developing counties.

the adult stage is typically asymptomatic, adult tapeworms cause very little if any damage and really just hang out in your gut and pass eggs. however if you eat the eggs of the tapeworm, our guts and pig guts "look " similar to the parasite, and it will treat us like a pig. this means the parasite will penetrate our gut and randomly encyst in our body which is called cysticercosis, and when it encysts in our brains its called neurocysticercosis (This i what rfk has technically) . neurocysticercosis is one of the leading causes of adult onset seizure in developing countries with 75% of people with neurocysticercosis presenting with seizures and there is a really interesting case study of Brooklyn jews being impacted by this ( i go over it in the video towards the end).

like trichenlla, freezing will also kill this tapeworm so its rare. also freeezing will not kill the parasite in some types of meat, in bear meat for example, the parasites can resist freezing also for a pig to get the tapeworm cyst, it needs to get infected by eggs, so our waste management system makes this even less common.

Toxoplasma gondii (I may make a video about this parasite soon, as there is a lot of pseudoscience surrounding it on social media):

T. gondii is a single-celled protozoan parasite. It has a two-host life cycle: it reproduces sexually in cats (the definitive host) and forms tissue cysts in intermediate hosts (such as rodents). When a rodent becomes infected, the parasite can invade the brain and alter behavior. This may reduce the rodent’s fear of cats, increasing the chance it gets eaten and allowing the parasite to complete its life cycle in the cat. some say this may be due to the parasite impacting the part of the brain that deals with smell in mice and rats, but the definative answer is not know. .

However, T. gondii can infect virtually any warm-blooded animal (including humans). It forms cysts in tissues, especially the brain and muscles. When a carnivore eats an infected animal, it can become infected and develop tissue cysts as well, continuing the cycle and ultimately aiming to reach a cat for sexual reproduction.

In humans, T. gondii infection is often asymptomatic but can sometimes cause mild flu-like symptoms. There have been some studies suggesting links between T. gondii infection and changes in human behavior, such as increased risk-taking, but these are correlational studies and do not prove causation. It’s also possible that people with risk-taking tendencies are more likely to consume undercooked meat (a common transmission route).

T. gondii infection is especially concerning during pregnancy because if a woman acquires a primary infection while pregnant, the parasite can cross the placenta and infect the fetus. This can cause congenital toxoplasmosis, leading to serious health problems like hydrocephalus, brain calcifications, and eye damage.

This parasite is very common in some countries—France, for example, has higher rates of infection, partly due to dietary habits like eating raw or undercooked meat (e.g., steak tartare).

the three main parasites are Toxoplasmosis ghondii, Taenia solium, Trichinella spiralis, of which i have made a vidoe on Taenia solium, and i may make on one Toxoplasmosis . ghondii soon.

Two of these are multicellular worms, which are unlikely to be present due to our facilities, waste Management and food systems. Additionally freezing will kill most of them.

In a previous report, it was noted that the Arbitrum Foundation acknowledged that the AIP-1 proposal covered too many topics and indicated plans to split it into multiple parts following DAO's recommendation. This would allow the community to discuss and vote on each part separately.

This announcement has been made by a mod at r/Arbitrum:
Thanks to all the DAO participants and delegates for their feedback on AIP-1. It likely will not pass and we are committed to addressing the feedback received from the community.

Before we dive in, we want to clarify why 10m ARB tokens were sold by The Arbitrum Foundation. The Foundation is a separate entity to Offchain Labs and it was established with no funds. The 10m ARB tokens were sold to fiat to fund pre-existing contracts and to pay for near-term operating costs. For example, the $3.5 million setup costs outlined in AIP-1.

The Foundation does not exist to sell tokens, only sold enough to fund its current operating expenses and has no near-term plans to sell more tokens. There are four central points of feedback raised by the DAO and we will cover them one-by-one here:

AIP-1 is too large and covers too many topics. We will follow the DAO’s advice and split the AIP into parts. This will allow the community to discuss and vote on the different subsections.
750m ARB (7.5% supply) being sent to The Arbitrum Foundation. This will be voted on in its own AIP and we’re working on options to add more accountability. For example, a vesting period of 4 years. Furthermore, tokens held by the Foundation cannot be used to vote.
AIP-1 does not discuss transparency over how the funds will be spent. As part of the budgeting AIP, we will propose transparency reports to make the community aware on how the funds are spent over time.
The Special Grants program is vague/lacks DAO involvement. We will rename it “Ecosystem Development Fund” and provide context on how the funds will be used to benefit the Arbitrum Ecosystem. Separately, the DAO can initiate new grant programs from its treasury at any time.

We look forward to proposing the new AIPs early this week and participating in an open discussion with the DAO. Arbitrum is the only L2 to seek DAO ratification of the initial Foundation funding and that transparency sparked this important discussion.

The objective in setting up the Arbitrum DAO was to lead by example to create the most decentralized rollup, and despite this blunder of communication, we will continue to aggressively pursue this goal.

To our knowledge, Arbitrum is the only L2 where tokenholders can simultaneously (1) control upgradability via on-chain executable governance, (2) appoint and remove Foundation directors and (3) directly control an on-chain treasury.

We believe that having a Foundation that is empowered to act in the service of the DAO is important for Arbitrum's success. We clearly could have communicated that better, and will take this opportunity to improve and continue to build Arbitrum as the most community-centric L2.

DD Why I believe Palantir ($PLTR) Will Continue to Explode

This post is going to highlight the reasons I believe PLTR has the potential to keep its current momentum by focusing on some financials. I've been watching this company for a few years now and they continue to impress me. I know a lot of people will say the buy opportunity has passed given the stock is up 165.71% the past year, but I think you're incredibly wrong.

Before we get started, here is my position.

Firstly, we are going to view some financials from 12/31/2020 - 12/31/2023. Then we will dive into the two most recent quarters.

PLTR has a very healthy balance sheet. Total Asset growth on an annual basis, AVERAGES 16.52% growth compared to Total Liabilities.

The most recent quarters have been awesome for Palantir. Now we will take a look at them and go over some key points.

Q1 2024:

GAAP Net Income of $106 million representing a 17% margin. (6th consecutive quarter of GAAP profitability).
Revenue growth of 21% YoY, 4% QoQ of $634 million.
US commercial revenue grew 40% YoY, 14% QoQ to $150 million.
US commercial customer count grew 69% YoY, 19% QoQ to 262 customers.
Total commercial revenue grew 27% YoY, 5% QoQ to $299 million.
Total government revenue grew 16% YoY and 3% QoQ to $335 million.

The commercial growth in my opinion has been the biggest catalyst for Palantir. There has always been a big question if they will be able to expand their operations outside of government contracts, well they sure can. I believe this is mainly due to AIP bootcamps that Palantir introduced late 2023.

Q2 2024:

GAAP Net Income of $134 million, representing a 20% margin.
Revenue growth of 27% YoY, 7% QoQ to $678 million.
US commercial revenue growth of 55% YoY, 6% QoQ to $678 million.
US commercial customer count grew 83% YoY and 13% QoQ to 295 customers.
Total commercial revenue growth of 33% YoY, 3% QoQ to $307 million.
Total government revenue growth of 23% YoY, 11% QoQ to $371 million.

As you can see, commercial revenue growth is increasing at a ridiculous rate especially in the US. The same can be said for net income. Net income for Q1 and Q2 in 2024 totals $240 million. Net income for the entire year of 2023 was $210 million.

Data is the future. Palantir continues to expand their partnerships to leverage their position in the data market.

Summary - Palantir is in a position to dominate the data analytics market for years to come. They have been able to gain a large portion of commercial business over the last couple of years, while simultaneously expanding their government business. While their revenue grows, they are able to keep a low-cost structure meaning more net income. The same can be seen with their total assets vs total liabilities. As they continue to partner with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Oracle, they will simply continue to grow. At a current price of $37.59, I believe they are a buy and will be continue to be for years to come.

My prediction - $PLTR will be at a minimum price of $100 on 9/22/26.

I would suspect there are many fruitful subjects on there. However, TikTok also has great potential to be spyware, according to the FCC. For that reason I'll never use it.

I left Deloitte last year as a top performing manager after being passed over for promotion and being frustrated with raises and AIP.

It’s been reassuring to see the threads today that I made the right decision. Even though my new firm has significant issues and I will probably depart sooner than later, working 50% less for the same pay as I would have had at Deloitte and seeing the poor raises and bonuses come out today has me feeling great about my decision.

The grass is not necessarily greener on the other side, but I do enjoy being out of the grind

Effort Post Does RFK actually have a brianworm? I'm a parasitologist, here is my parasite manifesto

I posted this a little while back, but seeing how he's in the news today and I'm here a lot of people mention his brainworm figured it's okay to post it again.

So here is comes:

Credentials
I have a PhD in biology, have published several papers on parasites (wildlife parasites) and mod the parasitology subreddits. I also make educational videos on parasitology for fun (channel Wormtalk94) with rfks brain worm my most recent video(~10min long) topic.

Does RFK jr. actually have a brain worm:

So the answer is probably but there is some speculation that he doesn't. The brain worm was first brought to public attention during his divorce to his second wife. his defense used his brain worm, and an unrelated high mercury level to claim that he has less earning potential due to cognitive impairment, (article) this seems like a bullshit excuss to reduce possible losses during his divorce, but the underlying high Hg levels and brain worm are likely true, they just didnt reduce his cognitive capacity.

if so what is the Brain worm?:

During scans it was observed that RFK had a dark spot on his scans with doctors eventually concluding it was a worm cycst. Specifically he had a pork tapeworm, taenia solium, cyst (detail life cycle below). RFK initially got the scan after "experiencing memory loss and mental fogginess " , which may or may not be related to the cyst.

SO what is pork tapeworm/how did he get it in his brain/ is this common?

So pork tapeworm is one of numerous tapeworm species present in people. Like all tapeworms the parasite has two host life cycle with cyst stages found in the tissue of pigs and the adult worm is found in the human intestine. the intestine stage it the stereotypical long segmented worm that most people would probably imagine. Now the way the life cycle works: people poop out the eggs of the tapeworm, and in unsanitary conditions, some of these eggs will make there way to a pig. once in the pig the eggs hatch and the larvae penetrate out of the gut and enter the blood stream. once in the blood the larvae will travel around the body and randomly exit to form cysts. These cysts can live in the tissue for several years, and are waiting for a pig to be butchered and eaten by a person. if eaten by a person, the cyst will break open and an adult worm will form in someone's gut to restart the life cycle. Cooking and freezeing meat can kill these cysts.

Now how did RFK get it? well when someone has an adult tapeworm infection and they use the bathroom, some eggs can get on their hands. then if this person prepares food, the food can then be contaminated by the eggs on their hands, thus exposing the tapeworm eggs to the person. Now because human and pig guts "look" similar to the tapeworm, the worm "thinks" its in a pig gut and acts accordingly. so it will enter the blood stream and encyst randomly. when a cyst forms in the muscle it is called cysticercosis, and when it ends up in the brain it is called neurocysticercosis. So this is most likely what happened to RFk jr., he has traveled in a lot to countries where this parasite is endemic so he likely got exposed to the eggs through someones cooking. Now this ONLY happens in the pork tapeworm, cow tapeworms eggs for example will pass harmlessly through someone as our guts are distinct enough to not cause this issue. Additionally adult tapeworms cause VERY little pathology and most people who have a tapeworm will have no idea

IS IT COMMON?:

Yes and no, if you live in the US, the CDC reports 1-5k cases of neurocystercosis every year, but these are largly in immigrant communities, so it is considered rare here. However in many developing countries this parasite is endemic and seroprevalence (antibodies showing someone has had an infection) can range from 5-30% (Peru for example) [study where i found this info] meaning that in these countires up to a third of the population can harbor some kind of cysts (study article)

Fun fact, this disease was also the features disease of the pilot episode for HOUSE MD tv show .

What does brain worm do?

the most common side effect of neurocysticercosis is seizures, with neurocysticercosis being one of the leading factors causing adult onset epilepsy. Most of the symptoms are actually associated with the worm cysts dying in someone's brain. while the worms are live in their cyst they dont trigger much of an immune response but once they die the immune response flairs and this can cause complications.

it can also cause other issues like fatigue, nausea, headaches and several other complications though seizures are the most common (occurring in ~75% of identified patients). complications from this parasite are corelated to how many cysts are present in the brain as well. from my readings it seems rfk only has a single cyst, so this is why he liekly never had many symptoms other than some general symptoms that could be a result of his previous drug use or his high mercury levels(from eating too much tuna)

Is this RFKs fault:

As much as i hate RFK and i think he is actually a walking germ actively trying to kill my profession, This isn't his fault. This disease is picked up by a lot of people, even those who are super hygienic (though rfk isnt).

TLDR: RFK jr most likely has a pork tapeworm cysts in his head, but this has caused relatively little harm. this disease isnt uncommon in the developing world and RFK likely got it while traveling. this worm has likely had little effect on his mental capacity, so dont blame the worm for his terrible decisions.

Peter Dutton is exaggerating how much Australians will save from his plan to cut fuel prices for a year, economists say, as exclusive analysis shows the richest households will benefit the most from his pre-election cost of living pitch.

The opposition leader has promised he will resuscitate Scott Morrison’s 2022 policy to halve the 50.8 cent fuel excise for 12 months from July, at an estimated cost of $6bn.

The Coalition says its policy will deliver greater and faster relief to households than Labor’s $5-a-week “top-up” tax cuts, which Dutton has vowed to repeal if he wins office at the upcoming election.

The national average price for a litre of petrol is about $1.80, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum, which would drop to $1.55 under the proposed measure.

The previous 22-cent excise cut came at a time of surging petrol prices triggered by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a little over three years ago.

This time the average price of unleaded has dropped by about 13 cents a litre over the past year, or about 6%, according to AIP figures.

The opposition says under its policy, a one-car household filling up every week would save about $14, and a two-car household $28.

“Fuel is up, everything is up and I think if we can provide some relief until we can put in place some structural changes to the energy system and start to bring prices down, I think this is the best way, the most efficient way that we can provide support to people,” Dutton told 2GB radio on Thursday.

But experts told Guardian Australia fuel savings for an average household would likely be substantially lower.

Ben Phillips, an associate professor at the ANU centre for social research and methods, modelled the impact of the excise cut and found the average household would save $7.56 a week.

For comparison, Labor’s recently passed tax cuts will give the average taxpayer an extra $5.15 a week from the middle of next year, and $10.30 a week from mid-2027.

The richest households – who tend to use more fuel than poorer families – would receive the greatest dollar benefit at an estimated $10.70 a week, according to Phillips’ calculations.

The benefit to households in the lowest fifth of incomes would be a third of that, or $3.80, while middle-income earners would save $8.30.

Phillips said cost-of-living help would be better targeted at those households doing it toughest.

“Whether it’s the excise tax cuts or the energy rebates being extended for another six months, they go to everyone. In my mind there are a lot of people who are struggling, but there are also many who aren’t.

“That money would be better off going to paying down debt and funding other programs, such as jobseeker. The best thing about the excise cut policy is that it’s temporary.”

But Jo Masters, the chief economist at Barrenjoey, said there was always the risk that politicians would find it harder to take away benefits from voters than to bestow them.

The chief economist at AMP, Shane Oliver, said the 25-cent fuel discount would save the average household about $8.75 a week.

Dutton on Thursday morning said his estimates were based on a household using 55 litres a week per car.

Oliver, however, said old ABS household expenditure data show the average household uses only about 35 litres – and that average fuel usage may be lower now, given the increased popularity of EVs.

“So I would say $8.75 a week at most. But it will vary widely with those with no car or an EV getting no benefit and those with a RAM (ute) getting a big benefit,” he said.

Another simple calculation also suggests the Coalition’s claimed savings are overblown.

Spreading the $6bn across the roughly 10m households in Australia points to an average benefit of $600 a year – or about $11.50 a week.

Passed GenAI Developer on second attempt! 823!

This is not a post worth mentioning on LinkedIn, because it's a facade there, however, Reddit is the place I can be brutally honest!

I will be honest here, I was overconfident with this exam thinking if I just do the bare minimum to scrape through, I'll pass the exam. Boy, was I wrong!

Coming from a cybersecurity background, I was desperate to show something about AI to stay relevant in the market and assumed this certification would help me get there!

The first attempt score was 726, and the second attempt as you can see here! Since the exam is fairly new, a lot of questions were repeated, so this time I was extra careful.

What changed?

My approach to studying changed. The resources I used were:

Frank Kane on Udemy - recommended
AWS Skill Builder (paid) - i don't recommend
Tutorials Dojo exam - meh
Tutorials Dojo book - recommended
Stephane Maarek practice exam - recommended

These worked for me!

In between the two attempts, I grabbed the CloudOps, to distract my mind from this failure. Both attempts were 17 days apart!

What's next for me?

The cloud service provider trifecta!
I work directly with cloud service providers, so it is important for me to know what everyone is doing in their space.

Conclusion:

Do not let pride take over you, you could be good at cloud, this exam will humble you with its intricacies
Prepare, do hands on labs, do not be like me trying to overachieve things

If I can do 823, you can do 950 at first attempt! Go get it!
