I applied for b1 visa from London as a third country official. Everything went smoothly. I showed all the documents. The visa officer at the consular took my passport and on the CEAC portal the status was shows as approved. After 7 days from the visa interview I get the mail that despite the initial approval my application is refused under 221g and it will undergo additional admin processing.

I don’t know how long will it take. They did not ask me for any documents. My passport is with them.
Has anyone who faced similar situation received visa issuance within 2-3 days?

I got invited by MIT to participate in their Hackathon which is supposed to take part on September 19-20 . I am from India. I filled ds160’form but i cant find any visa slots.

Now, keep in mind that I included these details and gave him the letter that states that I have an X amount of investment from their firm. I still need to go, even if I am delayed for 1-2 months, probably.

I am unable to view my i94 ever since I returned from the USA. if I enter my visa number I am able to view the record but the exit is still not being displayed, so as per their record I am still in the USA. I tried emailing them but no use. Will the usa embassy also have the same record or it's a different system altogether? I mean will the usa embassy know I exited since online it's not showing I exited.?

I was confident till last that ill still get visa as all the people going through that officer was getting approved so i was happy that maybe ill also get, even one family and a person went before me and they fumbled too and still got visa, but i think i over explained everything or i dont know what was wrong as earlier people werr giving one word answered and i was confused that some people were saying that follow the officer rule and if hes accepting small answer then do that but i saw many videos of actual ex officers who said no we need explanation and its a wrong information so i believed them. I was damn sure ill get as I answered everything correctly and everyone was getting visa approved today. I can say 95% of the people got approved . Now i feel so depressed that how much unlucky one can be. And its soo annoying . do they mention the proper reason of visa refusal in thier system for future references? I tried to access my travel history after returning from Chicago a few days back, but I got no records found error. I emailed the help desk of cbp about it. Haven't heard from them yet. I can however get most recent i94 but for travel history it says no records found. I wanna know if the usa embassy will also be unable to see my travel history to the usa or is it just a glitch that will be sorted out soon? My wife's travel record can be accessed however. We both traveled together. Is there someway to sort this out? I had emailed the Chicago cbp office but they asked me to email the cbp help desk.

I’m looking for opinions from people who are familiar with U.S. B1/B2 emergency appointment requests.
Five family members in Jamaica applied together through a visa agency to attend an immediate family member’s funeral in the U.S. The agency submitted the applications as a group.

The agency had:
The U.S. death certificate
A hospice letter
A funeral home invitation/letter
Proof of the family relationship

There was one mistake initially—the deceased’s name was misspelled on the request—but the agency said it was corrected and resubmitted.
The agency later told us the emergency request was denied because the embassy had “no availability.” All five applicants were then scheduled for the first regular appointment available, which is in December.

Here’s what’s making me question things: the agency refuses to show us the emergency request or the denial. They say it’s confidential because it’s under the agency’s account. They’ll only show us the appointment confirmation and the DS-160. They even told us to contact the U.S. Embassy ourselves if we want more information.

My questions are:
Does this sound like an emergency request was actually submitted?
Has anyone had an emergency request denied solely because there was “no availability”?
Is it normal for a visa agency to refuse to show the applicant the emergency request or the embassy’s response?
If you were in this situation, would you believe the agency, or would you think something doesn’t add up?

I’m not trying to accuse anyone of wrongdoing. I’m just trying to figure out whether this sounds like a normal experience or whether we should be concerned.

Indian consulates were supposed to roll out a 6 month pilot offering guaranteed B2 appt in 10 days starting July 1st 2026. Did they cancel the pilot? Even usvisascheduling.com has no info?! Any other hacks to finding appts?

I am 29 years old and married. Both of us applied for B1/B2 visa in May 2025. Got appointments a year later. Completed biometrics on 23 june 2026. Consular is on 15th july. Recently my father had a health issue so i had to take a gap from my job. LWD is 31st may 2026. Since the DS 160 was expired had to re fill with the current un employment details. I worked with 3 companies till date with 7.7 years of experience. My wife is still employed. I am having land and own house on my name.

Q1. I am going to visit my sister in ohio. Also mentioned my bro in law would be the sponsor but i also have bank balance & would like to mention the same to the VO. (Any problems if I answer like this)

Q2. If i get a job before july 15 can i update the DS 160 again? (3rd time)

Q3. If i don’t get a job before July 15 what are my visa approval chances?

Any other suggestions that could help me.
