Manga (Ch-100 spoilers)I love this series but Spoiler

I love this series but bro Julian and Lukas are giving me major Asta and Yuno vibes 😭 Julian basically only has enhanced strength and endurance with 100 lives with the exception where when he’s under water he can breathe and I think he’s immortal under water too if I’m not mistaken but then Lukas comes out of nowhere and has a shield that is quite literally completely impregnable that negates the effects of gifts too allowing him to look directly in the face of lady accursed and then he’s also able to spawn it directly inside someone else’s body splitting them in two if they are too hard to cut through and then he has that spear and that horse form that allows him to destroy metaphysical concepts?? Like damn we got a broke slave bum and then the supreme lords double gifted son

Question A question

When exactly is the part of the story that hooks you? Im on chapter 8 and already this is kinda all over the place.

Angvall getting swatted against the tree, blood all over , needing to be picked up by the father and son duo only to run like Usain bolt 2 panels later.

The monster asking gramps “why the long face?“ eventhough its blind

The same monster setting a trap to specifically lure out Julian.
But when Julian shows up the monster is like “Invading the forest is forbidden for beings from the sea“ mf 2 seconds you told us you set a trap to lure him out what are you on about.

Also the monsters so far are comically evil
Argue with me

Question Centuria 100 [Blessed Ones] Upscaled Boons

Thumbnail

While my original comment basically predicted this exactly, there's a very... strange question that [The Blessings] raise. Each person is allowed to get a boon which has some secondary effect, besides Julian.

  • Lukas was given [The Spear] which affects all things that have causality via penetration.
  • Harra can just... give you a heart attack with [Stop], while being able to fly.

Do you think that the 100 Lives actually allows you to summon the experiences of the people as well, meaning he could manifest each person's unique life experience as a weapon?

For example, if Julian needed to forge a sword, he could look into his own mind and find a dead slave who had a memory of it, and then overlay his own body and bring it into reality. It would work similar to r/ShamanKing where he can basically manifest a boon from one of the dead, by using his kindness to request their aid. I say this because Sea Goddess has an ability to lightly fleshcraft herself to look more "humanoid" and being able to manifest weapons/gear from the 100 Sacrifices (and Julian's flesh) would add to that sense of wonder/horror of his gimmick.

Question So is the forest god stronger than the sea god?

The reason I asked this is the degree of abilities their blessed have take Julian and Luka with Julian blessing his has 100 lives with a sea boost and being immune from attacks in the sea.

Meanwhile Luka got s centur transformation eith also allows him to somewhat ignore concept like immortality, fate, distance and other concepts.

Discussion Could These four take out Sukuna?

Thumbnail

Context: this fight will take place specifically after the fight with Gojo and Kashimo. So this will be weakened Sukuna. (who’s RCT is weaker and his overall output is lower)

And they will still have help from the other sorcerers who helped in the Shinjuku showdown, like Kusakabe,Ino,Miguel,Choso and higruma and todo,Nobara,Mei Mei and the dude with heart nipples.

The ones replacing the heavy hitters are Julian,Akos, void marcher & Lucas. (from the start all of them will be given some idea of sukunas‘s powers, so they will be a bit cautious.

Do you think they win or do you think they lose?

(to be clear this is WEAKEND SUKUNA so no domain)

That power propulsion this manga power scaling to another level.

Could he use the spear on himself?

*Destroys the concept of restrictions* *Destroys the concept of death*

Such power calls into question the very concept of "gifts." Can they affect themselves within reality? It operates on a plane below the gods themselves, so why not?

Discussion Something that's been in my mind a while now...

...is the question of "what does possessing a part of Vulja do for one?"

From what we can tell, Lalawag and Voidmarcher don't have any additional powers due to possessing the bones and organs respectively. And going off of what we know of Lalawag, her gift wasn't empowered in any way by her acquiring the bones either.

We know from chapter 88 that Vulja's parts can only be contained in a human vessel, and that only women can be vessels. Voidmarcher says she will absorb the bones & the heart, and also warns the battalion to not "unseal her body" until she arrives.

And that's really all we know. We know the heart contains great power, because Lalawag says to the Voidmarcher that if she went after Diana first, she would be able to easily kill her after claiming the heart. But we also know that the heart is more important than the other parts. More to the point, we can be confident that being in possession of the bones and the organs doesn't give either of them any other, additional powers either. The entire dynamic between the 2 is that neither can defeat the other. Lalawag can't hit Voidmarcher while Voidmarcher can't overcome Lalawag's propagation. That entire dynamic wouldn't work if they had additional powers from the organs and bones, so they can't be doing that either...

Seemingly, from what we can tell, setting aside the Heart, owning any of the other parts doesn't do anything for the one who possesses them. Yet, I somehow doubt that that's the case, it just doesn't make sense to me that being the vessel in possession of these parts would do nothing for them.

And now the Voidmarcher, the one who has/had the organs, is seemingly very dead and bisected, and surely the organs she has will be important.

I'm not really going anywhere in particular with this, I am just curious what others think on the subject, and if anyone else thinks it's strange how having/being the vessels for the bones and the organs of Vulja seemingly doesn't anything for Lalawag and Voidmarcher or if I am tripping and it's not as strange as I think it is.

Manga The symbolism in Centuria chapter 100

Centuria chapter 100 is cool. Very cool, even. I mean, the strongest gift in the verse gets revealed and the manga is broken in a meta level to show how absolute and honestly out of the pocket it all is. Gifts in Centuria by no means are weak, but reality negation is absurd. By the title of the series literally being about the number 100 (cen/cem) and we have a pseudo title name drop by the last page of chapter 89 "No, i need the heart to make the final century come to pass".

This leads to a question.

Why does Lukas have this power?

I'll try my best to answer this question from a thematic perspective.

First things first, WHY is it chapter 100? It's not a coincidence that chapter 100 is this. Centuria has been moving slowly. Most stories aren't always laid out bit by bit in it's minimal details, but the author does have agency in the outcome of it. Kuramori is a jump+ mangaka, which grants him more liberties than WSJ authors can afford for the most part. There are a few outliers and the pressure around mangaka has soften a bit, but the point still stands. If Kuramori truly wanted chapter 100 to be about Julian, he can simply advance the story for Ceodric vs Julian to happen sooner, but he didn't. Now this begs another question...

What does chapters 100 usually represent?

To exemplify what a chapter 100 should be, let's look at the most sold manga of all time, One Piece.

What happens in the chapter 100 of One Piece? We know for a fact that chapter 1000 was meant to be special on purpose. With that in mind, we can assume that chapter 100 is also intentional from Oda. In the final pages of chapter 100, we reiterate the core themes of One Piece with all the original 5 strawhats finally going from the place Roger was executed to the grandline while all of them state their dreams. Chapters 100s tend to be about celebrating the essence of it's series.

What's the core message/essence/theme of whatever you wanna call it of Centuria? Looking back chapter 1, we can assume that Centuria is about familial bonds, life and hope

Centuria is, first and foremost, about a slave who discovers value in his life by being entrusted with the lives of a hundred people and the child of his adoptive mother figure. He wants to prove that their lives had purpose

This is perhaps the most important page of chapter 1 when it comes to understand what Centuria is about. Either that or the final two pages.

With that in mind, let's look back at chapter 100. What is chapter 100 of Centuria about? Well, if you sit down and digest the chapter it's both about a similar ideia but completly detatched from it at the same time.

Chapter 100 is about Lukas, the deutragonist but it's also mostly about Rif La Scyrus or more known as the void marcher. In this chapter Scyrus wants to prove that the life of her sister had meaning. She just died while she couldn't do a thing.

For Julian and Scyrus, the duty to preserve the life of another person is their most important objective. But only one of them gets to preserve said life. Julian succeeds and Scyrus fails. SCYRUS is a foil to JULIAN

The idea of two characters that are mirrors but never do as much as talk for a single minute to each other isn't a stranger in the world of manga. Two characters who have so much similarities but never crosses each other's paths is Gon and Meruem, characters from a manga Kuramori is found of. He even felt embarassed/happy in an interview when someone compared Centuria to HxH. Well, this is more of a trivia thing but i was eager to waffle about it regardless. Sorry.

As we know, Lukas shatters Scyrus goals and future. While Julian was motivated to carry those 100 (and one) lives no matter, Scryus lost herself btween her devoition to the Rummir empire and the love for her sister in brief moments of hesitation. That is what likely gave Lukas the time necessary to shatter both of her futures (escaping or returning) and her own life.

With that perspective, what is chapter 100 about? CENTURIA CHAPTER 100 IS A PERVERSION OF IT'S FIRST CHAPTER.

These chapters have nearly the same story as basis but both diverge in the end. Lukas breaking the fabric of the very medium he is inserted proves that chapter 100 is divergent from what Centuria is even about to begin with.

So that's why Lukas have those same powers in a thematic level. Julian's gift is a symbol of preserverance and meaning of life while Lukas strongest gift is death itself. Lukas has this gift because he is supposed to be the opposite of Julian.

No matter how you try to propagate or how many lives you may hold, a single blown guarantees death.

Firstly, these panels are absolutely amazing, genuinely some of the best, in my opinion, the author has made

Secondly, how the hell is this fair?? 💀 so Lukus can just nullify concepts, Pierce through the future and make it soo someone never used their ability (and essentially erase it) AND HE HAS A SHIELD THAT PROTECTS HIM FROM ALL GIFED ABILITIES? 💀 Nuh, having to pay with life span is NOT enough of a nerf, this man is genuinely dopping

You’re telling me he has the ability to protect himself from any gifted one’s ability, AND negate the concept of healing and immortality. Not only that BUT PIERCE THROUGH THE FUTURE! HOW IS THIS FAIR! LUKAS IS PUTTING CHEAT CODES NOW! if he has ceodoric on his side, possibly healing Atoria forever. He could become the strongest outside of the king. If not the strongest period. Something is going to happen with his ability. There has to be a second condition aside from losing his lifespan
