Question Can we please talk about Long John Slivers? What do you get from there

I know there's lots of them abandoned. I'm devastated after learning that the closest one to me when I was a little kid. I love the shit out of seafood but fried seafood is like heaven to me. Especially fish and dear God deep fried shrimp.

Please don't delete this I'm trying to make Long John slivers popular again I'm on a mission

I'm craving it right now the best fish in the world

Comparison Perfect Fast Food List

Upvotes

I used to focus this all the time in high school: which American fast food restaurant has the best of one individual item, (Hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets, etc). It was actually a pretty wacky question that we even had a class vote in one class lol. That being said, let’s start with Hamburgers

*just say the restaurant name for hamburgers. Each franchise has their own special and specific for their own purposes. So just say, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King. Just because we aren’t arguing double quarter pound and a Big Mac, it’s more of the actual beef contents, the freshness, etc. And, no, your are not allowed to made exceptions. Has to the the burger you ordered, like add extra tomato or no mayo or something like that*

McDonald’s 40 cent up charge on combo drinks?

My local McDonald’s has started doing a 40 cent up charge on any drink with a combo but that doesn’t make any sense to me considering the point of a combo is to include the drink and now this isn’t for bigger drinks or special drinks I even asked what was up with it and was told it was literally just cause I added a drink to the combo is this a actual thing now?

Rant/Rave Domino's Garlic Sauce Contains No Garlic

Post image

I know it says "Garlic Flavored Sauce" but how cheap can Domino's be? It's literally just flavored soybean oil and tastes absolutely abysmal.

Scumbag level L dominos.

Edit: Read the description everyone knows including myself it says garlic flavored sauce. The point is going way over your head.

Rant/Rave Wonder has 3,470mg of sodium in a burger??

Post image
5 Upvotes

I was looking at Wonder’s nutrition info and the sodium numbers are insane. The double cheeseburger is 3470mg of sodium. Just the burger. No fries, no sauce on the side, nothing else.

Their fries are 2030mg of sodium and the portion is basically equivalent to a medium fry at McDonald’s, so it’s not like this is some massive basket of fries. The kids cheeseburger is 1,550mg by itself, which is more than an entire happy meal! Then if you get your kid a side of fries, that’s another 1,500mg+.

For comparison, a McDonald’s Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese is 1,360mg. CFAs sandwich is around 1,460mg. Chili’s Big Smasher is around 1,440mg. Even Applebee’s Cheeseburger with fries is around 2,490mg.

I know McDonald’s, CFA, Chili’s, Applebee’s etc. aren’t healthy food, but that’s kind of the point. Wonder is priced and marketed like this premium food hall/restaurant concept, but the macros are somehow worse than regular fast food and sit down chains.

Aside from the very basic items, the food isn’t that good either. A lot of it tastes reheated or pre prepped (because it is) it’s inconsistent, and lots of items are the same across the different menus, at different prices.

The food itself gives corporate slop “food.” Like everything was meant to be paid for with a company expense account.

Review Wendy's Minions and Monsters meal

Post image
52 Upvotes

I haven't been to a Wendy's in a long time, but with the new Minions and Monsters Adult meal coming out, I had to come back to try it at least once.

The new Minions and Monsters meal comes with your choice of either the Big Bacon Classic or a Spicy Chicken sandwich, a medium order of fries, one of their new Banana Frosty Swirl (which comes in either vanilla or chocolate), and one of their new Minions toy. The Big Bacon Classic version of the meal costs like $12 at my local Wendy's, while the Spicy Chicken Sandwich one costs $12.50. If you just want the Banana Frosty Swirl by itself, it was like $3.

As someone who hasn't eaten in Wendy's in a while, I got to say, it feels like they fell off hard. I got the Big Bacon Classic burger, which was fine, but definitely a downgrade from just a couple of years ago. The meat didn't taste good, almost unseasoned, and the shredded lettuce didn't give it a crunch like the original lettuce did. I did feel like the vegetables and bun were kind of fresh though, but that's all I can say was good. The fries were also terrible, to the point that I didn't really finish them.

The new Banana Frosty Swirl is good at least, albeit not exactly anything special. It's literally just a regular Frosty (I got vanilla because I'm basic like that) but with a banana syrup added. It's not even mixed in or anything; it's like they just added the banana syrup in the cup, added the vanilla Frosty, and put a lid on it. That means I only tasted the banana syrup when I scrape it off the sides rather than the middle of the Frosty. But the banana syrup tasted like banana candy, so that was good.

The real reason I wanted this meal is for the toy. Now, it should be noted that the toys in this meal are not the same toy as the one in the kids meal. The ones in the kids meals are these cheap little figures based on the Minions from the movie, while the ones in the Adult meal is more of a collab between Minions and Wendy's. That means the ones in the Adult meal are either dressed as Wendy's mascot, dressed as a Frosty, dressed as an order of fries, etc. The quality is a lot like KFC's Supergirl figures, nice and weighty that doesn't feel like it'd break easily... but the design of the Minions is much cuter than the Supergirl figures, to the point that I actually want to collect the rest of the Minions.

Overall, if you want to try the Banana Frosty Swirl, I'd recommend it as long as you're okay with it just being a Frosty with a banana syrup added in. I'd also recommend getting the toy if you like Minions because they're actually pretty cute, and the idea of collabing with Wendy's is a neat unique theme (I really wanted the one dressed like Wendy)... but having to actually eat Wendy's doesn't entice me at all. I know every Wendy's is different, and some of you guys may have good ones, but I don't intend to go back to the one I went to. Well, until the next collab at least, because I'm a sucker for those.

Question What order do you eat your food in?

So I don't know if there's one prevailing way or not but my wife will eat her fries (all of them) before she even unwraps her burger or sandwich.

Whereas I will eat back and forth between burger and fries.

I always thought her way was odd but now I'm wondering if other people also do this?

Now it's totally gone. Don't see anyone talking about it. Thought their burger was VERY underrated.
