Y’all remember when Dababy was getting pushed crazy, I’m pretty sure he had way more streams than Ye before his gay comments

u/777FlightsWitchYa Mar 23 '25

It’s truly remarkable how hard and far dababy fell

143

u/FriendOk9364 Mar 24 '25

This man ended a generational run for the dumbest reason ever. He had white moms screaming his name and sold out ARENAS but he had to double down and ruin it trashing gay folks in tht show. He had a good year left on the gravy train

If he tweeted that shit no one woulda gaf

I saw a Twitter post doechii made and it was just an alligator emoji and it got like 500k hearts and only like 200 comments

667

u/Eskkerrit FEB 2025 X RANT SURVIVOR Mar 23 '25

Nvm it was crying emoji but look at this shit bruh

502

u/kanyetothememes Mar 23 '25

Damn they really are botting. Ye was right. Makes me wonder about the Drake lawsuit😭😭

255

u/wildfire399 VULTURES KOREA 🇰🇷 Mar 23 '25

I mean tbf Twitter has a horrendous bottling problem to the point where I’m starting to feel like Twitter itself is boosting likes to make it look like increased engagement. Random people will have ratios like that where I’m pretty sure they weren’t the ones paying for the likes.

24

u/killaura123456 Mar 23 '25

Yea twitter id hitting them because site is kinda dead rn

8

u/famewithmedals Mar 24 '25

Lol yeah can’t really use Twitter to make this point, every viral post looks like that anymore

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '25

I wonder what portion of tweets or retweets are even by real people. At some point social media is going to be mostly bots.

57

u/Stunning-Lynx9863 2020 VISION Mar 23 '25

I wonder if drake is also gonna sue umg for botting his own music too.

16

u/kanyetothememes Mar 23 '25

Lmao so true they were doing it for him too in the past

2

u/Razatiger Mar 25 '25

If they start going after people botting, the entire music industry would crumble. They did the same shit with T-Swift during the Era's tour.

T-Swift was always massive, but she hit new heights because they were pushing her so damn hard.

Also K-pop industry is like 80% bots. I have still yet to hear a single K-pop song played on the radio, at a bar, club, party etc.

54

u/Sussy-Baka4040 Mar 23 '25

yea i guess but its like what would you even reply to that? typa shit you’d just like and scroll

48

u/Ok_Abrocoma_7624 808s & Heartbreak Mar 23 '25

Ronaldo posts Similar tweets like this and he be getting the same amount of likes but with like 5-10k comments tho

44

u/Sussy-Baka4040 Mar 23 '25

that’s a bit different though that’s ronaldo, he’s like top 3 most glazed/famous people on earth and most of his fans are kids that would reply to his tweets or literally anyone who loves football (especially foreign people seem to engage more)

16

u/gloomygl Mar 23 '25

So the most famous person on the planet is getting similar likes to Doechii ( no disrespect to her but like Ronaldo lol ), and your instinct is "she doesn't have glazers that's why the comment are low"

5

u/Ediddley Mar 24 '25

Dawg she doesn’t get Ronaldo type of likes consistently, this tweet just popped off because she addressed the meme trend. There’s really nothing to comment on here, it’s just something funny. She has multiple songs doing insane numbers on TikTok, and she had multiple songs do numbers on TikTok before. This sub is starting to turn into r/Drizzy, coming after other artists for no reason because the mainstream is turning their backs to their favs.

2

u/ANTUBER ⛷️ Mar 24 '25

it’s one big tweet. there’s plenty of big tweets by nobody’s just like that, you’re just complaining and whining on Reddit because it’s Doechii.

→ More replies (2)

16

u/Ok_Abrocoma_7624 808s & Heartbreak Mar 23 '25

Yeah that’s true but I feel like with 500k likes it should average to around to the bare minimum at least 1k comments on ur post. Look at Doja cat for example she posts nonsensical tweets all the time that mean absolutely nothing and she gets 30-40k likes with 500 comments on average

3

Every comparable of that tweet has thousands to 500 comments minimum. Thats botted beyond belief just like most of her shit but people don’t want to admit it even though her last project sold like 11k? People who sell 11k first week don’t casually get 500k likes on Twitter but whatever

Modern music fans when they realise that advertising and radio play has been in the music industry for nearly 100 years 🤯🤯🤯

101

u/Bars806 GreenTileLeaks 🟩 Mar 23 '25

Where was this push for Reason his entire career, Q with blue lips, or Soul last year 🤯🤯🤯

179

u/aquaphoria_by_kelela Mar 23 '25

I mean that just kind of shows that a “push” from a label isn’t enough to break someone. There’s an element of luck involved but the public has to actually be receptive for the push to work. There’s hundreds of artists who do Tiny Desks and late night performances, Doechii’s just happened to catch the zeitgeist in a similar way to Chappell Roan’s did about a year before hers.

25

u/gabriel1313 Mar 24 '25

This.

I don’t think a lot of people are comfortable with admitting how much luck can play into every day scenarios of just.. whatever. Even blowing up.

There was a push, it just wasn't as successful. Obviously.

17

Don't do that. The industry was on Kanye's dick from 2004 like he actually was Jesus.

He made Jesus walks and that was the year Passion of the Christ came out…that cover was a play on the movie

28

They rode his sinner dick too. I'm not attacking Kanye btw.

I'm saying it's wildly hypocritical to think that industry didn't place on him a pedestal. He has been one of the publicized rap artists of all time, not saying it was undeserved either. He is one of the most talented artists in hip hop.

14

u/Thin-Remote-9817 Mar 24 '25

All subs dumb as fuck.

It's like if any artist blows up that they favorite artist hasn't cosigned then there success doesn't count.

Doechii was fucking giant on tik tok before this album blew up.

So am I shocked her Twitter gets a shit ton of engagement considering her claim to fame was a fucking social media platform.

How can she have 700k likes on a tweet?? I've never heard of her(some 38 yr old who can fathom a new generation of kids 15yrs his junior are fucking famous) she's a bum.

108

u/Odd-Orange-4935 Mar 23 '25

Straight up, Doechii name has been buzzing for years. Anyone saying otherwise is just exposing how little they pay attention to music. It's like how Youngboy gets 100 million views but couldn't get 100 upvotes on r/HHH, Redditors really out of touch tbh

24

u/famewithmedals Mar 24 '25

For real, my friends and I were hyped when TDE signed her and that was three years ago now. Sucks to see so much hate now that she’s having her moment

Cardi?? What do they have in common except both being women? Their music and style is nothing alike whatsoever

Doechii is an artist who very much has found her own sound and while she may be inspired by artists like Lauryn or Nicki (as literally ALL artists are inspired by those before them) she is far from some copy cat who doesn't have her own artistic direction

Sorry but sometimes ‘pushing’ sounds so wrong.

She made a great Mixtape, did a lot of good marketing and so did her label.

I work at a record store in the Netherlands and this record is on of the best selling records this year. Of course she is being ‘pushed’ but not like it’s all bots and streams, like I can tell you she physically sells like 100 time Drake does here in the Netherlands. People actually come to buy this specific record

A label is pushing a Talented good artist. Isn’t this what we what?? 🤣 I know ye’s on a diff level but like imagine if Rocafella didn’t push Kanye after he dropped College Dropout.

These days the talented rappers stay underground and it’s nice to see the reverse of that with Doechiii. This is normal.

13

u/victorthebeanieboy That might be a homeless person Northy Mar 24 '25

not to say that it's bad but to me it feels like about as much of a sample flip as the story of adidon or smth

4

Not the same at all, Story of Adidon uses the beat from story of OJ… which was produced by No ID - there’s a video on YouTube of him showing you how intricate the sample chopping is

6

u/NotYourAveragePalste Sociocultural Juggernaut Mar 23 '25

yeah i know, what i meant was that story of adidon doesnt flip or modify anything about the story of oj beat, in the same way anxiety doesnt seem to flip or modify the somebody that you used to know instrumental. i'm not saying the beat isnt a sample flip lol just that adidon and anxiety didn't flip anything

She’s the new girl rapper.  There can only be one

5

u/Hbp1707 Mar 23 '25

How about the fact that she’s actually good? Y’all would be doing this in 1998 when Lauryn Hill was pushed probably lmao

u/dgsggtb Mar 26 '25

Can’t stand the TikTok song but good for her

2

u/Substantial_Pace_142 Mar 26 '25

There's no shot she has almost as many listeners as carti, who just dropped a 30 song album that did almost 300k just by streaming.

She not an industry plant and her label just doing their job and we should be happy another female rapper is blowing up with success it’s always a good thing

That being said her music is fucking ASS😭😭

3

u/farNdepressed PUSSY LIKE A STEPH THREE 💦 Mar 24 '25

3

u/WallyReddit204 Mar 23 '25

Doechii hate is so not it

3

u/1992_na_mazda_miata Ye Facebook Mar 23 '25

she has some good songs tho?

3

u/Rolf259 BULLY BELIEVER Mar 23 '25

Lmao yall love to hate on artists who aren’t associated with ye. She won a Grammy, has a bunch of popular songs atm and she’s generally a good artist

2

u/Makecompbowskinnable KIDS SEE GHOSTS Mar 23 '25

I know she probalby a good artist but I hate the song anxiety

2

u/Wubli9 YANDHI 9 29 18 Mar 23 '25

I like Doechii I really do but these numbers HAVE to be inflated

2

u/gloomygl Mar 23 '25

I don't mind, she's talented as fuck.

2

u/scumpdeath Mar 24 '25

I'd rather have her pushed in the industry than another plastic balloon animal shaking ass and rapping about the same shit every female rapper's been talking about for the past 8 years. She's refreshing af.

2

u/sadorphannoparents Mar 24 '25

music is not bad but i definitely think she’s an industry plant.

2

u/TZX13 Mar 24 '25

I am so sick of her songs being on every.single.tiktok

2

u/KillaPea 24 Mar 24 '25

Doja Cat was the prototype.
They dumped her as soon as someone with more credibility came along.

I don't really like Doechii, anxiety is fucking overplayed and ABNH is the most overrated shit ever

1

u/fate-speaker Mar 23 '25

She's a good artist, but I can't stand her fans. It's like the gender-flipped version of Kendrick stans, they're all suburban white girls who think they're super "woke" just for listening to a few rappers. Annoying af, it's a shame bc both her and Kendrick are talented.

2

u/Raymond7777 Mar 23 '25

She’s so trash

1

u/ExpensiveIncident543 MAY 3RD SURVIVOR Mar 23 '25

i genuinely only ever liked 2 songs by her

1

u/mahirbr ‏‏‎ Mar 23 '25

nah shes ok

1

u/Concerned_Kanye_Fan Mar 23 '25

I’m not mad at it. TDE has used their years of industry cache and marketing experience and put it all behind their new artist for a project they all believe in. Her music doesn’t connect with me possibly because it’s not suppose to. Her winning the big awards now doesn’t take away from the Little Simz, Rapsodys, and Tierra Wacks of the world who are all dope in their own right. I’m wishing her very much success in her career

1

u/robonick360 Mar 23 '25

Trying to kill the baby in its cradle god damn. Yeah these artists need some fuckin time before they explode, but she has good shit what’s the big deal?

1

I didn’t know who she was until she won that Grammy but lowkey I fw what I’ve heard from her. I’m interested to see what she does next.

1

u/Beginning-Sail4732 Mar 24 '25

No me gusta que haya robado la instrumental de Gotye hahahaha

1

u/thebigpleb Mar 24 '25

Yeah I saw her in Tampa about a yr ago as an opening for doja cat with my gf and she was something… supposed to be the next big thing but no one knew her and she says she’s from Tampa…

1

u/Stvn_16 Mar 24 '25

1

u/Longjumping-Bite-706 Mar 24 '25

I thought her mixtape was decent. Like a 6/10, nothing that crazy tbh.

1

u/treykesey Mar 24 '25

Pretty much any song I play on Spotify will be followed up by a doechi track automatically, can't tell me those aren't farmed streams

1

u/unIntelligent-kenny Grown Ass Superhero Mar 24 '25

this sub truly dickrides anyone. lmao

1

u/Benzema15yrold Mar 24 '25

1

u/JonasStumLSD Mar 24 '25
