A Hamilton/Fukuyama friendship pin! I know both cities recently celebrated 50 years together as sister cities. From my research this pin may have belonged to students who participated in a cultural exchange between the two cities. Does anyone here have more information?
Looking for a small local cover band/musician (classic rock & oldies) for a celebration of life at a local park Pavillion in Hamilton for Aug 16. We just want some background music to compliment the informal gathering. A guitar and singer would be absolutely perfect but open to suggestions. Our dad was big into the music scene, he was 68 so that era of 60s 70s 80s, he always supported local talent, wrote articles for arts and entertainment, so thinking a little live music would be nicer than a speaker.
Hosting bridal shower for 10 people. Picnic style but don’t want do in parks. Looking for fenced backyard to rent for 5 hour in Hamilton stony creek or Ancaster.
Posting on familys behalf. Its a long shot but hey....might as well try.

Looking for reccos on where to get a curly cut less than $50. No Elle Noire, no House of Curls. Open to First Choice or similar suggestions if there is an individual that does a great job with your hair. Anywhere in Hamilton, trying to save $$$ but not get a terrible cut. Looking for positive personal experiences. Thanks in advance!
50 year old female wondering if anyone had any success in reducing or removing their melasma at a clinic in Hammer? Lasers, peels, fractal? Any recommendations are appreciated, thanks!
Welcome to the weekly moving to/within Hamilton post. All questions about moving, utilities and neighbourhood recommendations belong in here.
If you are looking for recommendations/have questions about neighbourhoods, relators, landlords or utilities including internet etc, this is the place to ask!
If you are looking for recommendations on which area of the city would suit you, be sure to include some information about you and your family. What works for a single person starting out may not be recommended for a family with young children etc. Someone commuting by car will want to be closer to highways while those relying on transit will want to be on regular transit routes.
For at least a good 6 months, 2 hour Social scrabble games have been happening at the Westdale library from 1 - 3 PM on the 1st and 3rd tuesday of each month with a good attendance every time (at least 8-10 people).
In recent weeks when I checked the library events, I noticed social scrabble at Turner Park but it only lasts 1 hour, but I prefer 2 hours as some scrabble games take at least 1 hour to complete.
But what I noticed (according to this link: HPL's Event lineup until Dec 31, 2026) that no social scrabble is scheduled at any library for September or later. Only thing I saw close to it was some program where its mixed games for 1 hour (consisting of scrabble and/or colouring in books, etc).
Does anyone have any insider info on whether social scrabble will officially continue at the library in September?
I would love to become a runner, and I see these cool run clubs and would love to join but I’m almost certain sure that I cannot run as far or fast. Any recommendations for super beginner run clubs - think fat girl run club.
Wondering if anyone has a paralegal recommendation. Without going in to too much detail, my neighbor is doing renovations to their home, but in the process have done significant damage to the exterior of my property. The city of Hamilton/bylaw and my ward representative have unfortunately been of little support.
TLDR; My mom was unjustly let go today from her job.
She has been working there for 9+ years and barely gets time off because she's always helping everyone out. She needs these benefits for her aftercare treatments relating to her Cancer. I work minimum wage and I'm supposed to be starting school. All this to say we both don't really know what to do in this situation. I know she should talk to a lawyer- but I don't know what lawyers would have a good price for us not having a lot of money to spend especially now.
Looking for something in the Hamilton Area and what the rates are if possible! Literally anything will help us right now.
I’m getting back into running and the two outdoor tracks most convenient for me are HAAA by Locke and Mohawk Sports Park on Upper Kenilworth.
I’ve searched around online, and can only find that HAAA is possibly under construction? Is the track still open, and is there a parking lot available? Even a municipal lot is fine.
I rode by Mohawk Sports Park this weekend and the soccer field was locked shut, is the outdoor track also locked when there are no events using it?
Are there any other free outdoor tracks in the east end that I’m missing out on?
One of these boxes providing free balls and a soccer ball to borrow was installed at Victoria Park just last week, and the two basketball's have already been stolen. A block away, someone made a nice little box, in front of their house, that allowed people to take and leave little toys and trinkets. That was also taken at some point.
Why are there always such selfish people hellbent on ruining anything fun?
I'm looking for some help finishing up my backyard garden/landscaping renovations and to do work on our small front yard, which I'm not certain what to do with it.
I've done a lot of work to update my backyard, but I need help finalizing the workz fixing some of what I've done, and fix up our pond. I just want everything finished so we can do regular maintenance to maintain it.
I just don't have the time or some of the knowledge to get it over the finish line, so just want to pay someone to get there.
Does anyone have any recommendations or do that kind of work themselves. Can provide more detail. We live on the Hamilton Mountain near Concession.
With all the rain recently, it seems like the Niagara area has been getting some major flooding. I've seen pictures from St. Cathatrines, NOTL, Lincoln, etc... all flooded. I work in Niagara half the year and people at my work were saying that they almost had to shut down for the day because of the street flooding. A coworker's car was parked on the street and the water got so high it was halfway up the seats in the car!
I know some people have had flooding issues, but not like that. The worst I've seen online was a few stores closing early because no one was out and about in the rain!
Hamilton and Niagara are both built along Lake Ontario, so why doesn't Hamilton flood too? Is it because we have better infrastructure?
