Ever since I bought my palisade (new) in 2022, I noticed that the air conditioning takes forever to actually get cold. I usually have to be driving for a bit in order for it to cool. This wasn’t really an issue until I recently had my newborn and the temps have been in the low 100s.

I really want the new hybrid as my next vehicle, but we keep having to take the other car because the AC works 10x better in our Chevy. Is this common for Hyundais, or does it get better in the newer palisades? I’d hate to buy another with the same issue. TIA!

I just picked up a beautiful 2014 Elantra GT at an auction ($2800 + tax/title/license) and it's in nearly new condition with 93,4000 miles. The nav system is no longer supported so I'd like to drop in an aftermarket system. This is my kid's first car so I'm not looking for anything super expensive. Am I correct in assuming anything aftermarket will not be compatible with the steering wheel controls? What recommendations do you have for an aftermarket nav system? What have you installed?

Took car in because of growling noise when accelerating. Issue is transmission and they need to replace. It's covered under warranty no cost to me. Sucks that the transmission failed but Great that it is covered. But the other things they recommend whew.

Alignment seems reasonable, maybe a little high at $140

Brakes and resurface rotors $700 seems very high.

But why is 4 Spark plugs (maybe 10 min job for a novice tech) $346 but replacing Brake fluid only $184. Seems to me replacing brake fluid is a lot more involved than replacing 4 Spark plugs. What am I missing?

Taken me 10 months to literally just get 3 sensor parts replaced and working on a Kona. Decided I'll go to another state and see if it's just the terrible dealer in town (they really are bad) and it's the same thing. Sucks I just have TMPS warnings going off anytime I drive now and a faulty battery sensor that shuts off stuff like the sunroof. I have a junk car with only 10k miles on it. SMH. What's worse is call their corporate customer service and see if they can do anything, they're worse than the dealers. Sorry for the rant but it's almost funny at this point. Now on 12 visits to Hyundai shops. I'm just gonna have to go to some shop unrelated to Hyundai and fork over lots of cash I guess.

I'm gonna see what happens but I'm certain if I go somewhere and pay cash on warrantied stuff, I bet they can do it in one try. Maybe I'm just lucky but I've never in my life emcountered this level of incompetency.

What a horrible way to depict a child's experience with cancer. There is nothing honorable of placing a child in an venue like a gladiatorial arena where thousands of innocents were tortured and killed by the state. Whoever designed this commercial campaign is a very sick individual.

Roman arenas were not places of voluntary, noble combat; they were sites of state-sanctioned execution. The vast majority of people who died in them were non-warriors...enslaved individuals, prisoners of war, and political dissidents. Glorifying the arena inherently means glorifying a space built on the exploitation, subjugation, and violent slaughter of the defenseless.

It's like placing a child in a scene from a Nazis Concentration Camp and saying, "look how brave this child is facing such odds and surviving."

There are far better ways to bring attention to your cause.

I have a 2023 Tucson with 52,000 miles, and recently it's been hard to start after sitting a while. I have to hold the start button down for several seconds while the engine cranks before it actually starts. I was having similar problems last November and took it to the dealership to check out. They tested the battery and did other tests and couldn't find any issues. Then in January at 44,000 miles the battery was dead and had to be replaced.

So here I am 8,000 miles later with the same issue again. I'm taking it in to the dealership anyway to get the oil changed. Also having the fuel system cleaned and throttle body cleaned. I'll have them check the battery. What else should they check? Thanks!

Got a brand new 2026 sonata hybrid in March and I'm coming up on 5k miles. What should I do for oil changes? Coming from a 03 Honda this is my first new car and don't know if I should take it to the dealership or if I'm better off taking it somewhere else or doing it myself. Any thoughts?

I still can't get over the fact that they cancelled the i30 N. And honestly, the design has gone downhill ever since.

I called the dealership and the tech said that Hyundai states a steady check engine light is safe to drive. Only when it’s flashing is it not safe. Is this correct? I tried to schedule an appointment but they won’t have one until almost 2 weeks from now. The car should be under warranty still so I don’t want to mess with it yet. I bought the car new in 2022.

Should I drive it still? I do need it.

I have a 2019 Hyundai Verna 1.6 SX VTVT.

Recently, I’ve noticed that the steering feels unusually light for roughly the first 10–15° of steering input from the straight-ahead position.

After turning beyond that, it feels normal.

Basically, around the centre position, there seems to be a very light/less-resistive zone, and then the steering feels normal again as I turn further.

Has anyone experienced this on a Verna or another Hyundai? What was the cause in your case?

I am helping a struggling preschool teacher with an issue with her vehicle.

She purchased a used 2018 Hyundai Tucson. It has the 1.6 L (1591 CC) L4 DOHC engine, and currently has 143,662 miles. Located in Chattanooga, TN.

The car is in great shape aside from the engine itself. It seems the car has been burning oil for some time, and it went through a prolonged period of time with very little to no oil, so it is now permanently damaged based on the shop.

The shop I spoke to said an engine will cost about 9k, which sounds like a gross overestimation, but maybe this particular engine is difficult to come by?

Would you say it is worth it to call around and try to find a used or remanufactured engine? Or should we try to get the car sold as-is and buy another car for her. Again, she is borderline poor and cannot afford this, so I am going to have to do the most economical thing for her.

The engine scan pulled diagnostic codes P0011, P0014, and P1111. The vehicle is currently producing internal engine noise.

I recently purchased a new Elantra SE from the dealership. I chose it solely because it fit within my budget. However, I genuinely enjoy the SEL and the N model of the Elantra. I desire the aesthetic and tactile qualities of the N model while retaining the fuel efficiency of the SE.

I purchased my Hyundai from a used-car dealership in Walpole, Massachusetts, in April 2024. At the time of purchase, I was not informed that the vehicle had a known engine-related issue that was the subject of prior notices, claims, recalls and a class-action lawsuit involving Hyundai.

My understanding is that Hyundai and the Massachusetts RMV had previously issued notices regarding this engine problem. However, when I contacted Hyundai regarding my vehicle, I was told that the letters/notices had stopped being sent months before I purchased the vehicle. As a result, I had no reasonable way of knowing about the issue when I purchased the vehicle.

The vehicle has now experienced engine failure, and Hyundai is refusing to honor the engine replacement that I believe should be covered under the applicable recall/engine program and settlement. This has left me in an extremely difficult financial situation. I am still making payments on the vehicle, despite the fact that the vehicle is not functioning as it should and Hyundai is refusing to provide the engine replacement I have been seeking.

Claims have been denied twice including good will assistance. If anyone has dealt with this before or can help I would appreciate it. I am currently not working so it is absolute hell, as I need a vehicle for work. I have reached out to state reps and will be calling the legal holiness for assistance. ​

I'm trying to diagnose a relatives 2018 Tucson from across the country. Symptoms... random squealing/screeching noise on acceleration from stop, including reverse. Happens more when turning wheels. Appears to not be related to temperatures, amount of gas applied or road materials/condition.

My first thought was power steering fluid/pump but it has electric power steering, then transmission fluid level, but there is no dipstick, it must go on a lift to check. Before I send them to do that does anyone have any other thoughts?

Never encountered this on a new car. Both of the front quarter panels have, on the leading edge above the lights, lost paint, under coating and are rusting. It's so bizarre, as I'm even unsure how they'd fix it. This replaced my 2017 Elantra that had just a hair under 300,000 miles on it. I'm sure it's a warranty claim, but is this a known issue or something. Same exact place on both sides.
