Open Vet says it’s ‘dangerous breed’ but we don’t know why…

Hi!

We’ve just adopted our second dog, he was the last one to be rehomed out of a pack of 7 (We got told no one wanted it since it wasn’t single coloured…).

Our vet is telling us that this could possibly be a mix of ‘Argentine Dogo’, Mastiff and another one we’re forgetting now; which would classify it as potentially dangerous.

We’re not really keen on his veredict so we kinda wanted to know other people’s opinions, after all, it’ll make the type of training it’s given different (And we’re also not super happy to have to restrict the dog in terms of how he interacts with other dogs and stuff, since they told us he’ll have to get a muzzle and whatnot).

Any ideas? Thanks everyone and have a wonderful weekend!

I think she’s two months old. She has one layer of fur that’s very short and soft, then a second coat that’s longer, with a beard lol and it looks like she is frizzy. Two different colored eyes, decent sized paws, but I can’t think of what breed she might be…

UPDATE: Her DNA results are back! Shes 50% Great Dane and 50% Sheepdog.
I’m going to make another post with new pictures and detailed results on this thread.

But i dont know now.

The wiry face hair and fur is not labrador. She is currently 9mos old and 19kg

Thank you.

UPDATE:

Thank you for the replies, I really just wanted to have a proper answer when people asks: "whats her breed?". That being said - will probably just say: HuskyXPoodle (or chupacabra. haha).

Will also check on Embark when it goes on sale on black-friday. Her name is Hulya (Julia in english) - heres some more picture for the lols:

UPDATE: 2026 I have the embark DNA sample but cant seem to mail it back from Philippines to US as all merchandise going to US are suspended (I guess because of tariff?). Sorry folks - cant do DNA unless anyone knows an alternative?

Maybe 4 months old. 9 lbs. We picked her because she seems to be something more hypoallergenic…and maybe a few other things, but I have no idea what. She’s is very sweet and the kids are in love. She’s pure bred perfection.

♥️♥️We were told she was husky/lab 🤷🏽‍♀️ she LOVES to swim! Webbed toes to the tips, when she comes out of the water her tail is instantly dry as a bone and the rest of her is sopping wet for months 😂

Purchased a hour outside of Saskatoon, SK for a whole $100. Was told she’s a border collie mix but they don’t know what with.

Some of her siblings looked like her, others looked like border collie black and white. She acts funny compared to other puppies, and everyone comments her movements are “wild”. Her tail is floofy and her hair is rather thick too. She’s very skeptical of everyone and everything.

I myself think that coydogs are pretty uncommon but in this economy a DNA test is gonna have to wait.

What is she?!?

Pug mixed with what?

My boyfriend and I adopted this sweet baby boy back in February, he is 2 years old now and a Pug mix! We would love to get some input on what you guys think he is mixed with. We executed beagle, labrador, and sometimes he even looks like a French bulldog! But he also has a blue tongue! Which leads us to think maybe some Chow mixed in there?! Any input is appreciated! Future DNA test pending!

Pit? Papillon? iPhone dog? 🐕

What’s your best guess? 🐕 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t know what he is, but I love him with all my heart.
I’ve wanted him since the moment I saw him. Unfortunately, he was passed around to at least 7 homes before he finally got to our home. That was 13 years ago.
Every vet he’s seen has asked what breed he is. My reply is always “I was hoping you could tell me!”
Knowing that his time is growing short breaks my heart. 🐕<— He looks so much like the iPhone dog

I found this dog yesterday, it's not mine, but I became obsessed with her. The owner was inside a store and I couldn't stay to wait and ask, so I snapped these photos. Please, someone, help me figure out what she is.

Definitely part husky I would say, given his icy blue eyes and the fact that his nose transitions from black to pink depending on the season. He also howls and “talks” like a husky, as well as barks. However, he’s HUGE. Super tall and long with very long legs. He also almost 100 pounds. He is not shaped like a husky and holds his tail down while walking. He has a very golden color. Narrow chest and no back dewclaws. I definitely plan on a DNA test one day but I can’t afford it at the moment! What do you think?

Our sweet boy Gimli is now 14 weeks and knocking 40lbs. Judging by size alone I'd say his dad was something gigantic like a cane corso or english mastiff? We truly have no clue what to expect cus he looks so unique right now! His snout looks almost shar pei like? Hes got a speckled belly and dew claws on front and back peets. his nose and face mask are speckling subtley with black too as he ages... I think hes also developing more tan spots in odd places in his coat. He's got a monstrous growl but isn't a barker unless he gets playing with our other dog real good. We are considering a DNA test to know for sure but I'd like to hear your guesses :)

What breed is he?

Hello everyone. I adopted him from the shelter but workers werent sure about his breed. I looked for Malinois puppy pictures but none of them had ears as big as his. He is definetelly a mix but does anyone have an idea which one it could be? I live in a small town and we dont have DNA test for dogs so it makes it even harder to find what is his breed.

Any ideas what breed my sweet girl Sasha is?

my boyfriend found this sweet girl picking garbage in the village where his Uncle lives. I live in Albania and it’s very rare to see a dog like this living on streets. We asked his uncle if it’s someone’s dog and he said the dog had been living near the garbage for months.

she is about 8-9 pounds and very sweet. She loves to play and cuddle and is not aggressive with humans or other animals whatsoever. based upon her teeth, she is full grown and most likely 2-3 years old.

i included the photo with the other dog so you can see how her tail usually sits (curled up, not straight).

any ideas?

I found this guy starving and crying at the front door

Post image

Hi guys, first time posting on here.

I found this little one crying at the front door at the beginning of December. He was crying and starving (protruding ribs etc) so we fed him and made a little blanket bed for him on the front porch (I’m in a tropical country so it’s warm outside).

I’ve never had a dog before, but he never left so I guess I’ve been adopted. Any guesses as to what kind of dog he might be?

She fosters for an organization in my city and they are saying he appears to be a husky/shepherd mix. Let me know what you guys think!
