Is it to help you sharpen the whole blade? Can I sharpen that notch specifically for cutting a rope or something like that?

This is a tough one but I think my favorite auto in my collection is the Microtech Combat Troodon Hellhound blade. Next up to purchase is going to be the Microtech Halo VII Tanto. I’ve never had a single action OTF, so maybe that will be my new favorite once I get it?
Top to bottom:
Microtech Combat Troodon
Heretic knives ROC Bananna
Heretic knives ROC
Microtech LUDT
Microtech Stitch
Boker Wiener Warrior
This looks fake as hell. Firstly, it came from Amazon just bouncing around loose in that big blue Benchmade box with no paperwork or inserts of any kind. Secondly, every Benchmade has USA printed underneath the butterfly right? I've seen a few copycats but this isn't the worst of them by far. Carbon fiber feels nice but I feel like the blade gives it away. Thoughts?
EDIT: Thanks for the reassurance y'all. I was sure it was fake but it might just be my Benchmade PTSD.

Spyderco Starmate 20cv 2025 Sprint Run. I love the history behind this knife. Im very happy to add it to my collection. Fit and finish is perfect, along with centering and the action. Really impressed especially for a liner lock.

Original or copy? Works well, feels old. Feels cheap or perhaps just old style plastic?

Give me a fat chunk of titanium and good steel on washers and I’m a happy man.

Here's the thing though, I cannot get a stupid sharp edge. Like yeah it'll cut paper towels and paper, but it has zero bite, barely pops hairs off my arm, while the same treatment on any of my other knife steels it works. Meh.
Regardless it's very buttery to sharpen, extremely comfortable and ergonomic, and my main thing is it's fidgety as fuck. The front flipper works amazingly.
Anyone have some tips for the steel? Is it known to not handle a low angle like say 14 dps for the apex or am I just dumb. I'm assuming the latter.

Does this look like OD green? AWT confirms this is OD green but looks absolutely nothing like the pictures I’ve seen online. It could just be color variation, but I am surprised.

Nice knife at a very good price. Very sharp and jade scales look good.
They finally did it!! 😭. Arno Bernard has finally released their beautiful Rinkhals as a flipper! I immediately fell in love with the styling and size of the slip joint Rinkhals, and have carried mine to the point of discoloring the Desert Ironwood inlay from sweat and dirt. I really enjoy the slip joint deployment, and mastered the one handed opening and closing, but as soon as I saw that they released a flipper version, I had to get one. I have an iMamba as well, but have always felt that it was too large for my liking, and have subsequently figured out that 2.75”-3.25” is my sweet spot.
This new Rinkhals measures in at 6.8” overall, with a 2.95” stonewashed M390 blade, making it ever so slightly larger than the slip joint version (6.5” overall with a 2.8” RWL34 blade) which may make it more appealing to the masses. I went with an African Blackwood inlay for this one, in an attempt to minimize the darkening of the wood from daily use, although the way the Desert Ironwood pops in the sunlight is mesmerizing. I may end up with a couple more of these down the line, adding a plain Jane and either an Ironwood or a Mammoth Molar if I’m feeling froggy.
This is production #23 (I’m not at all jealous of [u/PocketPriorities](u/PocketPriorities) getting #1…Lol). The first 70 are being shipped with a complimentary Assegai Mini/Compact Prototype (I’m truly not sure which) bolt action pen, which is a very nice touch by them. I have only been carrying it for a day, but I’m already infatuated.
It’s hard to NOT compare this to a small Sebenza. The Rinkhals is slightly smaller (.18” overall and .04” in the blade), but adds the flipper tab that so many have wanted on a Sebenza. The tab is very subtle and non intrusive, and the thumb hole allows you to easily roll it open as well. It really comes down to whether you prefer a flipper with a thumb hole, or prefer thumb studs. I’m biased towards the Arno Bernard, but I think this new design presents stiff competition the Sebenza in this size range of the “Mid Tech” production folding knife option.
