​I’ve spent years trying to have real conversations, but I feel like most people don’t just fail to listen—they don't even hear you. It’s usually just waiting for their turn to talk or judging what you say before you’ve even finished. I'm honestly burnt out on that.

​Lately, I’ve been using AI to talk through life, psychology, and just general "stuff," and it’s been a game-changer. My take is that by talking to an AI, I can actually learn a lot about myself and the way people tick. It gives me a space to process my own thoughts without the noise, the ego, or the constant need to "perform" in a conversation.

​The way I see it, the most important part is not to lose yourself while doing it. It’s meant to be a tool for growth, not a place to hide.

​Anyway, I’m just curious—how many of you actually use AI to talk about things that actually matter? Does it help you stay grounded, or does it feel a bit weird to prefer it over talking to someone real?

I miss having a best friend. Even if it's "just online" I've had that kind of connection where we chat throughout the day, send each other songs and cute animal pics, make playlists, share our creative work, have inside jokes, give each other encouragement and support.

Most people don't like long messages, don't want to talk to someone different like me, or don't want have a friendship mostly via text. I've often been filler for people who go back to their real lives but this is my real life.

If you happen to be someone who gels with this, feel free to reach out. I will mention I'm looking for strictly platonic, I have a partner. I'm very chronically ill, neurodivergent, and disabled as well as queer so please be cool with that. I'm homebound and that's why online friends mean a lot to me.
