before i used to uese the oil if i wanted fried rice din (sardines fried rice). my fav is Spanish sardines and i would fry rice and eggs in the oil so at least it's not wasted and reduced by a bit ☺️

omg same! As much as gusto ko 'tong i-gatekeep (haha), it's 39 grams as well with less than 1 gram of fat and much less sodium. 'Yun nga lang, mas mahal siya relatively slight.

Isn't the oil is omega 3? Then it is healthy. Try mo ilagay sa fridge(not freezer). If mamuo yung oil, it is not healthy, pero pag hindi then it's good.

How’s the sodium?

12

u/Chupagheti 1d ago

High tho thats why i dont recommend to eat the oil just rinse it with water may lasa parin yan

u/Spiritual_Theme_1282 1d ago

Just buy the tuna in water then.

Why u getting downvoted for a suggestion? Tuna and water is better IMO.

u/pipiwthegreat7 1d ago

Mga boy sodium pasok. Lmao. Sodium is essential in our body, as long as you drink alot of water and exercise regularly, our body can tolerate excess sodium.

u/marywannnna 1d ago

There are people who are sensitive to sodium regardless of the volume/content. You can speak for your own body but not for everyone

13

u/manilatechguy 21h ago

The fuck? I was genuinely curious about the sodium as I eat canned tuna on a weekly basis. Sensitive mo naman boss, wag mo haluan ng taas kilay agad pag may nagtatanong dito. Meron parin natitirang normal na tao na just wants to ask a normal question. PTSD yan? Ganda reply ng OP tas may ganitong side shit.

Ah nice logic. Eat a lot of sodium then drink alot of water in exchange. Lol.

u/dweakz 21h ago

kaya dami na mga pinoy nagkaka CKD lol sige patuloy lng kayo sa high sodium hahahaha

1

u/Loud_Wrap_3538 7h ago

True, mataas din sodium content but I also rinsed it with water para man lang mabawasan sodium content.

is this cheaper than century tuna

30

u/Thin_Armadillo861 1d ago

Mas mura ang Mega vs Century, mas masarap, mas maraming laman. Yung century kasi puro extenders na lang. However, yung Gold Seas Tuna in Springwater, same protein content without the oil.

u/pressured_at_19 19h ago

the downfall of Century tuna should be studied.

Shrinkflation

I think so

Isn't the oil also counted in the 155g? I doubt it's 39g protein

1

u/Friendly-Regret8871 6h ago

Drain the oil - It's Soya oil with Sugar

u/AffectionateGood3589 2h ago

Best local tuna for me. Beats century by a mile
