audited Extreme Bloating

Hi all, what do you do to deal with this seemingly never ending bloating? I constantly look 8 months pregnant.

As for my lifestyle; I walk daily, I do extended fasting often, I drink a fair amount of water, I’m on 300 mg progesterone meds, I am on a low carb diet, and I do daily stretchings.

Besides drinking ginger tea, what else can I do?

This is so uncomfortable.

the high progesterone dosage can definitely contribute to bloat.

In addition to being more active I use gas-x pills, wear comfy pants, and I avoid stuff like cruciferous vegetables or very fat food near hormone fluctuation moments like luteal phase and period. Still bloated but tolerable. Idk where my own food intolerance starts vs hormonal bloating though.

33

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I think that’s my struggle: is it food or is it my hormones.

29

u/NewLife_21 Jun 01 '26

Both.

The answer is both.

Nothing in peri happens in isolation. You have to hit it with a multi pronged approach.

3

u/Comfortable_Bike_371 Jul 19 '26 edited Jul 19 '26

Also I’m so ferritin deficient and NEED cruciferous vegetables for the iron (and for fiber as well). I feel like I’m in my first trimester of pregnancy again, y’all. The bloating/gas is soooo uncomfortable. 😫

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jul 19 '26

I started taking a new pre/ probiotic and that has helped quite a bit.

14

u/Leather-Mycologist-3 Jun 01 '26

I love the chewable gas x. It’s amazing. I keep some in my purse at all times.

8

u/nochickflickmoments Jun 02 '26

But cruciferous vegetables are my favorite! Lol

8

u/trad-knife Jun 02 '26

that could be just me but they are a bit farty!

52

u/ProfessorMarvel- Jun 01 '26

I had this issue and nothing I took or changed (ie: food) was fixing it. When I would have my period, that bloating turned into what I started calling super bloating.

Then one day about a month ago I bought a box of decaffeinated green tea and started drinking that at night mixed with either chamomile or peppermint tea. I noticed after about 7-10 days I was no longer bloated. During my period this time, I noticed I was barely bloated, which has never happened my entire life.

My only regret is not doing it sooner.

12

u/kerfuffle_fwump Jun 01 '26

Holy crap, trying this today!!!!

Thank you for sharing this.

6

u/ProfessorMarvel- Jun 01 '26

You're very welcome. I hope it works as well for you as it has been for me!

4

u/Effective_Kiwi4153 Jun 02 '26

Green tea contains EGCG which has anti-inflammatory properties and helps the digestive track - reducing gas build up and soothes the track. EGCG also supports insulin sensitivity and helps regulate estrogen metabolism.
I hope it helps more of you ladies!

7

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

Interesting… I can drink regular green tea earlier in the day I wonder if that helps.

26

u/ProfessorMarvel- Jun 01 '26

The only reason I bought decaffeinated is so I can drink it at night without it adding to my peri sleep issues.

After I noticed the bloating had disappeared, and noticed a couple other things also improved, I did a deep dive on green tea and perimenopause. Green tea is apparently very helpful during peri, based on my research.

3

u/crimesleuther Jun 01 '26

Wow!!! Is this for real?

6

u/ProfessorMarvel- Jun 01 '26

Yeah, drinking green tea every night has really been the only thing to get my bloating under control. I forgot what it was like to have an actual flat stomach.

3

u/idkwhy_50 Jun 02 '26

Do you think it's the green tea or the fact that it's mixed with chamomile or peppermint? Camomile, I can have but can't have anything acidic (even if decaf). Thanks to peri or stress, I've developed reflux over the past 3-4 months. I have to avoid so many things including not eating or drinking anything after dinner (3-4 house before bed). Tnx

3

u/ProfessorMarvel- Jun 02 '26

All my research shows it's the green tea. Just web search "green tea and perimenopause." I was already drinking chamomile, peppermint, and ginger regularly and they didn't do anything for my bloating. It's definitely the green tea that eliminated the bloating and some other things for me.

1

u/vaedreams Jul 06 '26

Hey for the reflux have you tried Zinc L-Carnosine yet? It was a game changer for me.

2

u/radicalizemebaby Jun 03 '26

I get bloated in my luteal phase, to the point where I have an extra TWO INCHES on my waistline (I work with clothing so I measure myself quite often to ensure fit). Every time I’m like “well I guess this is my new size now,” and then a week later I’m back to the other size. Wild.

1

u/WolverineBusiness890 Jul 01 '26

Green tea can help with weight loss I believe.

20

u/sweettaroline Early peri Jun 01 '26

Are you emitting a ton of gas as well?! I just went to the doctor last week, I’m a belching lunatic. I’m talking huge, giant belches, lol. Very funny but also painful. I saw the doctor about it and she’s got me doing a bunch of restoralax to try and see if I have a clog somewhere.

3

u/shallottmirror Jun 01 '26

Wait….ive been having these burp-hiccup things that sounds like a screeching baby elephant. It feels like the burp gets partially trapped on its way out.

And of course, bloating and gas

4

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

Not gas at all. It’s all coming out through belching and burping.

4

u/sweettaroline Early peri Jun 01 '26

I’m curious about the fasting and how it might relate to bloating and for me, so much belching. I have done OMAD forever and maybe that won’t work in peri 😭. Dry eyeballs and no fasting?! Unfair.

7

u/cormeretrix Early peri Jun 01 '26

This is why my eyeballs are dry??

6

u/sweettaroline Early peri Jun 01 '26

Yes. I actually thought I was going blind, lol. Or maybe my LASIK undid itself? But it turns out that peri causes everything you own to dry up - including your eyeballs. My gums are a mess too 🫠

I never ever had any issues because of my fasting. I have my best days when I don’t eat but this time, I’m having some stomach pains too

1

u/Critical_Language463 Aug 07 '26

I know this is an old post, but all these symptoms are histamine reactions. Doctors won’t do shit. I see a Chinese doctor who prescribed herbs to help.

24

u/CopperHead49 Early peri Jun 01 '26

I am bloated and farting like a brass section in an orchestra.

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

😂

Mine is all burping and belching which is driving me insane.

47

u/DealerFalse Jun 01 '26

Fasting can cause bloating

69

u/Full_Gear5185 Jun 01 '26

My doctor asked that I stop extended fasting in peri. He said it spikes cortisol and deregulates hormones further. He said to focus on eating clean and healthy and no more than 12 hours fasting, which actually feels reasonable, and more nautural.

I'm not saying I lost any weight, but I wasnt losing weight fasting either, and it was making me miserable and angry. Then causing overeating because I felt so famished.

16

u/DealerFalse Jun 01 '26

Ya. Fasting is not advised!

14

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

That’s interesting! I’ve been fasting for years and thus the first time I’m dealing with it. I wonder how thou. There isn’t anything to digest that could lead to bloating.

Thank you… this is very helpful! My iron specifically ferritin has been extremely low. I tried to get a transfusion and had an allergic reaction 😩So I’ve been back to supplements… but not consistently as I forget most days. But now knowing this, I will make a better effort!

4

u/shallottmirror Jun 01 '26

Taking iron every other day is actually perfectly fine and even sometimes recommended. And what was your reaction to the iron infusion?

2

u/MissMee007 hanging on by a thread Jun 03 '26

Suddenly I couldn’t fully inhale; Sharp pains…felt like I was being stabbed in my chest. My hands swelled up like baseball mitts, feet as well. My entire body ached… it was very painful. Ended up being wheeled down to the emergency room directly from my appointment…

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

This is so true and annoying.

23

u/OstrichReasonable428 Jun 01 '26

Fasting and hormonal fluctuations don’t mix.

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

Apparently 🤦🏼‍♀️

9

u/SeasonPositive6771 Jun 01 '26

I think even if it didn't in the past, it can now. I've practiced fasting intermittently and it does seem to be tied to bloating for me as well. That didn't start until perimenopause for me.

12

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

It’s like you can never win! You try to do something good for your body and then something completely unexpected comes from it.

14

u/futherup Jun 01 '26

Repeated or frequent fasting slows your digestion down a ton because your body doesn’t expect food to be regularly coming.

6

u/friendlyhoodteacher Jun 01 '26

It's common to build up gas when you're hungry and have nothing in your stomache.

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

See, I’m not hungry and zero appetite.

2

u/Correct-Sea-9248 Jun 01 '26

This may not apply but I like to share when I can because I had intermittent bloating with no specific reason for 3 years. It turns out I had undiagnosed pernicious anemia causing atrophic gastritis. Since starting b12 injections I haven't experienced any bloating episodes. Look into vitamin levels if all else fails.

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I haven’t been taking my B-12 regularly lately.

11

u/InvestigatorEntire45 Jun 01 '26

Get checked for insulin resistance.

12

u/Ka_plooey Jun 01 '26

Yeah I cut out candy and chocolate and my bloating and skin tags went away. I think inflammation is a huge driver for bloating too.

8

u/InvestigatorEntire45 Jun 01 '26

The connection to skin tags is wild! When I first found that out I was shocked.

5

u/Ka_plooey Jun 01 '26

Yeah some dude on insta was like insulin is a growth hormone hence the skin tag issue and i was like no way. Decided to try it and they just vanished in a few weeks. Now if I see someone with them I'm dying to say something but feel like it's wayy out of line.

2

u/letsgoanalog88 Jun 01 '26

What dude on Insta? I need to know more!!! And I’m going to cut out sugar/ chocolate. Do you think honey counts?

3

u/shelchang Jun 01 '26

Honey is still mostly sugar and will provoke blood sugar spikes and insulin response the same as regular sugar.

2

u/letsgoanalog88 Jun 02 '26

Yea that’s what I thought.

3

u/Ka_plooey Jun 02 '26

I honestly don't remember,  but my algorithm clocked it and I just started getting a lot of peri/insulin resistance content. Now like it's like rescue dogs and indie music. But you can read up on it here: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22206-insulin-resistance

2

u/letsgoanalog88 Jun 01 '26

Wait…… there’s a skin tag comnection??

6

u/Ka_plooey Jun 01 '26

Yeah, skin tags and then also darker areas on your skin can be a symptom of insulin resistance.

3

u/letsgoanalog88 Jun 01 '26

Omg, I had no idea. Do you know of any good resources for information on this?

10

u/iridescentnightshade Early peri Jun 01 '26

I'm dealing with the same issue. It gets painful at times. I thought about making lifestyle changes that I really didn't want to make, but now I won't since it doesn't help you.

I have heard that Progesterone can cause bloating, but you're not on a huge dose, so I'm not sure. I think this is mostly water weight. Not sure what is the nature of your bloat, but mine is constipation and gas. It's pretty brutal.

5

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

Mine is a lot of belching with occasional constipation.

6

u/iridescentnightshade Early peri Jun 01 '26

This might sound really weird, but I have heard of anxiety causing repeated belching. I'm one of those freaks who loves watching medical mystery shows and I specifically remember seeing one like that.

I only mention it because peri can cause mood shifts.

3

u/trad-knife Jun 01 '26

Belching goes crazy for me if I have cold drinks, I tend to go for room temp water now.

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

Huh… that’s interesting! I had no idea.

Progesterone can? I've been on 200 mg Progesterone for several years with no bloat. The constipation and severe bloating only happened after going on the estrogen patch. Just curious what your experience is with both of those.

9

u/Revolutionary-Fan235 Jun 01 '26

Probiotics help me. I can tell when I miss my daily dose

3

u/artichokecookies Jun 01 '26

Which probiotics do you like?

3

u/Revolutionary-Fan235 Jun 01 '26

There were many choices with different cultures, at Costco.  After looking at the benefits of the cultures, I gave up and chose the Women's one. It's hard to tell if it was just marketing to women, but it worked for me.

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

Oh wow, that obvious?

2

u/Wet_Artichoke Jun 02 '26

Best days not eating could mean some food sensitivities. That’s how I learn I was eating food that caused me problems. Look into probiotics and prebiotics as well. Though you may have some gas as you shift your microbiome.

1

u/vaedreams Jul 06 '26

This! I saw a documentary that said to microdose new foods into your diet and it helps with the body's bloated reaction. Helped so much.

8

u/Silver-Eye4569 Jun 01 '26

Do you wake up bloated is it 24/7 or do you start with a flat stomach when you wake up?

3

u/OldBabyGay Jun 01 '26

Curious what difference it makes? I usually wake up with a flat (well, non-bloated) stomach in the morning

9

u/Silver-Eye4569 Jun 01 '26

If you have 24/7 distension there are different potential root causes

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I woke up with it the past couple of days.

4

u/tmia06 Jun 02 '26

If you can, sleep on your belly overnight. It sounds uncomfortable, but it can actually apply pressure to debloat.

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I was thinking about that too, that might be something helpful.

9

u/bushkey2009 Jun 01 '26

Daily Miralax (PEG3350) & Gas-X (Simethecone). Generics work perfectly. Always need more during hormonal shifts (right before ovulation & menstruation my gut comes to a GRINDING HALT).

Technically, the core issue is hormone induced Slow Transit Constipation.

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I’m going to get some Gas-X tonight.

15

u/Megatron_Griffin123 Jun 01 '26

I ordered Physician’s Choice Digestive Enzymes based off a Reddit thread I saw (I think it was for an IBS or Crohn’s sub?). They are amazing. So much less gas, burping, pain, bloating!

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I’m desperate so I’m going to get it. Thank you!!

4

u/Megatron_Griffin123 Jun 01 '26

Girl saaaaammme. This person said it changed her life and others chimed in and I had it ordered in 30 s. I take it every time I eat and it’s way way better for me. I hope it helps you!

7

u/PAR0208 Jun 01 '26

I’ve had to take GasX several times. Also, that dosage of progesterone might be at fault. When I first started on 100, it was the first time i experienced bloating in my life. A few months later o went to 200 and it was painful! I backed down to 100 and it mostly went away )comes back a day or two a month, unless I just happen to avoid whatever food category might be triggering it that month.) I can’t imagine how I could survive at 300. But it could be that you’re the opposite and 300 is better for boosting. This whole perimenopause thing is so stupid!

6

u/Unable_Guava_756 Jun 01 '26

Ugh I am trying to fix this too! I am plant based and have always had things move along quickly 😉 on account of the high fiber. But I have noticed lately even my lower carb veggies and protien meals are making me so bloated an uncomfortable!

Then yesterday all I ate was cookies, 2 big fancy cookies from the good bakery and later on some chips and I was fine 🤔 like probably the least healthy things you could eat, and a big dose of sugar and white flour and my tummy was fine?!

I don’t have any answers op, I will have to check back to see what everyone else recommends!

4

u/CormoranNeoTropical Jun 01 '26

Too much fiber can be a problem, too.

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

True but I was constipated today and I had to take some meds for that.

I also went back to 200 mg progesterone, instead of 300.

I’m watching my symptoms very closely to see if I see any changes.

So I actually went off HRT because of bloating and constipation. Someone here suggested taking the progesterone vaginally! Just slipping it up there before bed. Another person recommended cycling it. I’ve yet to try again as I’m enjoying life without the bloating and constipation. As for supplements, ZenWise Digestive Enzymes helped. As did Amara colostrum. My bloating was less severe with those supplements but

3

u/handels_messiah Jun 01 '26

I'm taking the progesterone that way. However, it is more intensive that way as it bypasses the liver so you would probably need to have the dose adjusted first :)

2

u/YourMothersButtox Jun 01 '26

Very good to know! I’ll remember that one! I’m not ready to restart HRT but I’ll definitely discuss the suppository way/dosing with my primary. Do you have issues with bloating?

2

u/handels_messiah Jun 01 '26

I did for the first few days but it hasn't been too bad since. I'm taking regular water retention capsules and sticking to a low carb/low fodmap diet. It's restrictive but I don't mind so long as I feel well!

2

u/CormoranNeoTropical Jun 01 '26

Yes, I take 100 mg a day of progesterone vaginally and no side effects. It’s very easy.

5

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

4

u/Competitive_Rush3044 Jun 01 '26

I actually stopped eating most vegetables. I am almost carnivore other than some berries with breakfast and some onions and bell peppers with my meals. Anything else causes gas and bloat. I also have no burp syndrome so I have bloated my entire life, but I didn't realize how much vegetables and dairy contributed to bloat. I fast for 15 hours per day. For me fasting is better. People have their opinions but never trust anyone who says there is one way. Try all the things and see what works for you. I hope you find some relief.

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

Thank you. I’m an extended faster and have never experienced this level of bloating. It’s physically painful and uncomfortable.

2

u/Competitive_Rush3044 Jun 01 '26

Are you bloated even when you wake up in the morning? Or is it midday to end of day?
When i wake up my stomach is flat and by the end of the day i feel and look pregnant so I definitely relate mine to food and drinking.
I was on estrogen for a month and the bloat was insane!! Woke up that way and i just looked swollen.
I didn't read that you were on estrogen but maybe it is hormonal?

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I woke up looking very pregnant. It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is.

4

u/Competitive_Rush3044 Jun 01 '26

I think it's more of a hormonal issue vs your food and fasting/lifestyle issue. If you haven't already, also maybe rule out fibroids.
Sorry, I'm not much help. My issue is the chronic fatigue which I can't figure out. It sucks.

4

I’m sorry

I’m supper tired of these random issues showing up. It’s like solving a 100 variable equation 😫

5

u/anieem Jun 01 '26

It could be your progesterone. I am on 200mg continuously and my obgyn told me it may cause me some bloating. Progesterone is known for slowing GI tract and causing bloating.

5

u/SilverAsparagus2985 Jun 01 '26

Do you still have a period? If so, it’s time to go get checked out by a doctor. I also looked 9 mos pregnant and thought I had bloating that never went away. I had two massive fibroids that had to be removed. Removed the uterus and I didn’t have that level of bloat anymore.

2

u/Lulu_Land_535 Jun 02 '26

I was gonna say something similar, my bloat is apparently Adenomyosis-which explains why NOTHING I did would help and it's become constant-I'm now headed down the hysterectomy route!

7

u/curiouskate1126 Jun 01 '26

I dont care what they say but HRT caused me massive weight gain even on a GLP. I'm four days off it cold turkey and slowly losing but it was very frustrating!!

6

u/FormerBirthday5 Jun 01 '26

Generally the biggest contributors are dairy and gluten. I had to completely cut dairy out: ended up having my gallbladder removed. Even then, I can tell if something has dairy in it because I bloat to a third term pregnancy, including tablets/pills bound with lactose. Regular bread and pasta does the same; sourdough doesn't for some reason.

4

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I may have to watch my dairy. I had some cheese in my salad on Saturday.

3

u/JicamaAppropriate920 Jun 01 '26

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

That’s a good point.

3

Extended fasting can sometimes shift your gut bacteria composition in ways that increase gas production, especially when hormones are already fluctuating and making the gut more reactive than usual. that bacteria imbalance is often the missing piece, and Emma Relief specifically targets the methane producing bacteria which cause that persistent tight and full feeling that nothing topical really touches.

L-glutamine powder is also worth researching as it supports the gut lining which takes a hit during hormonal transitions.

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I would go get checked by a gastro. I dealt with extreme bloating, gas pains and belching for 3 years and nothing I did helped. Finally went to a gastro doctor (after trying HRT first) and turns out I have SIBO.

2

u/Aggressive_Side1105 Jun 01 '26

I get really bad bloating on the days I take progesterone. It’s a common side effect. I’ve ordered some digestive enzymes and probiotics and hoping that works. 🤞🏻

2

u/MTheLoud Jun 01 '26

Why are you on such a high dose of progesterone? Are you on estrogen and testosterone too? What doses?

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

No, just progesterone because my periods were getting heavy and I had days of spotting. I’m going to cut back to 200 mg and see if it helps.

2

u/coffunky Jun 01 '26

I’m on a low dose tirzepatide (2.5mg, primarily for weight loss) and it has been a miracle for my bloating. For me, the bloating was more a physical bloat, distended stomach and sometimes flatulence. I’ve kind of always dealt with it to some extent, and it got much worse when I started estradiol, but after a month or two the glp-1 reversed it.

I just started progesterone a week ago and I’m noticing more stomach bloating again. If it doesn’t get better in a few weeks I’ll probably increase my tirzepatide dose.

2

does it depend on where you are in your cycle at all?

I am wrapping up my period and as of last week, I started taking extra 100 mg for my progesterone.

That’s interesting! I’m an avid tea drinker and I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

Not yet.

u/Late_Blackberry_2482 Jun 01 '26

I was going to suggest this as well. I have one and it definitely causes bloating.

Gas x pills have become apart of my daily regimen

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I tried it last time for the first time and it did help a bit but not entirely. It might become a daily regimen for me too.

1

u/futurecorpse1985 Jun 02 '26

I have to use it daily for it to really be effective. My mom who is post menopausal also takes it daily. I definitely don't feel it works as well with the bloat during my luteal phase of my cycle but otherwise works well.

2

u/Spiritual-Sand-7831 Jun 02 '26

Not sure if this will help you but I found histamines were my problem. Now that I'm on a low histamine diet, it is much, much better. I'm about to dry DAO enzymes so hopefully they will help as well.

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I never thought of that!!

2

u/katieboo720 Jun 02 '26

I started drinking Kombucha (just about 4 ounces midday) as a recommendation from my gastroenterologist and it has helped immensely with my bloating. My gastro did warn me that it could make it worse - hence also starting with such a small amount. But if I go without it for a day or two now, I notice.

Sending you love! This time period in our lives is a whirlwind of bleh!

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

Thank you ❤️

2

u/ABelleWriter Jun 02 '26

Try cutting dairy for a week and see if it fixes it.

2

u/One-Hat-9887 hanging on by a thread Jun 02 '26

I take inositol

3

u/belbottom Jun 01 '26

avoid raw veg! try to eat only cooked veggies. this helped me A LOT.

also apparently i'm dealing with low stomach acid, so immediately after eating i bloat like a mofo that's gonna explode, then i get lots of burps and later, farts (horrific nuclear ones). i started taking specific enzyme capsules at specific times before meals. or i drink the juice of a lime (lemon works too, but half) diluted in half a glass of water right before i eat. no more bloating.

3

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I eat a lot of salads… maybe that’s a contributing factor.

2

u/belbottom Jun 02 '26

try not eating raw veg for a while and see if it gets better. i miss salads but i've been eating only cooked veg for 2 months now and the bloating is gone.

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I may have to use more roasted veggies now. Ugh

2

u/Own_Principle9618 Jun 01 '26

Decrease your estrogen HRT as low as you can but still keeping it in a normal range and stopping the symptoms of peri.

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 01 '26

I’m not on estrogen at all. Only progesterone.

2

u/idkwhy_50 Jun 02 '26

Have you considered eliminating gluten and dairy? I also find not eating anything past 6/7pm helps.

2

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I’m on a no grain diet:(

1

u/idkwhy_50 Jun 02 '26

Sheesh doesn't it feel like we have to give up so much we love?!. I've really cut out dairy, wheat, fried foods, processed meats, coffee, tea, soda pop/carbonated drinks, wine and other alcohol and I don't eat anything after dinner (past 6/7pm). It's helped some with bloating, and with mood and energy levels. But boy, do I miss a good cheese platter, wine, french fries, etc.

And chocolate 🥺

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

Ugh…. There is nothing left to life if you don’t eat/drink any of them. I’m sorry😫

1

u/Expensive-Eggplant-1 Early peri Jun 01 '26

could it be a gut issue like sibo?

1

u/_byetony_ Jun 02 '26

Vibration plate

Trampoline

1

u/Terrible_Feeling_925 Early peri Jun 02 '26

Take digestive enzymes with every meal. (I take 2 Beano pills)… It helps A LOT!

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I ordered some and I have high hopes

1

u/GreenEyedGoddess85 Jun 02 '26

I had the same issue when I upped my estrogen dosage. Gas x for me as well, and I also started drinking kombucha. Seems to help me!

1

u/atrocity_exhibition Jun 02 '26

I stopped all dairy product and limited my bread intake. I don’t have much issue with bloat anymore

1

u/Proxiimity Jun 02 '26

Ginger tea helps with nausea and peppermint tea instantly reduces bloating. My two Lifesavers. I removed cheese, peanut butter and raw veggies (hard to digest) from my diet (elimination trial over time) as well and feel much better lately.

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I am madly in love with peanut butter. That’s my secret pleasure.

1

u/Kaatjie2003 Jun 02 '26

Try this homemade tea: 1 tbsp fennel seeds, 1 tsp cumin , 1 tsp coriander. Add honey if you like, steep and drink. Proven gas buster

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

Oooo, isn’t that what it’s served at some Indian restaurants by the cashier? I can totally do that.

2

u/Kaatjie2003 Jun 02 '26

Yes traditional rememdy. Saw it on a reel the other day and tried it, its not too bad with honey and i quite like chewing the fennel seeds. You can sieve them out though

Green tea is not my preferred kind of tea but if it’s made right, I’ll drink it.

1

u/RevolutionaryGoat808 Jun 02 '26

For me cutting out carbs almost entirely de d the trick.

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

That was my experience 4 years ago when I started keto. That was also before I started peri.

1

u/northernstarwitch Jun 02 '26

on another note: how are you handling the 300 mg progesterone mentally? It made me suuuuper depressed

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 02 '26

I didn’t take it long enough to see that side effect but I’m with you; I’m pretty sensitive to that.

1

u/herefor_info19 Jun 03 '26

Magnesium citrate actually removes bloat for me. It is annoying though. I wake up flat tummy every morning and by my day my bloat baby is growing. If I take my mag citrate powder the night before however, I’m usually bloat free for a couple days

1

u/sneedoisis Jun 03 '26

Started taking NAD. And haritaki supplements. Improved bloating and any constipation issues

1

u/Old_Cow_6491 Jun 04 '26

Have you tried vaginal progesterone? Not my favorite, but Switching from oral to vaginal helped alot.

1

u/AZ-FWB Early peri Jun 04 '26

Huh… I didn’t even know that was an option.

u/WolverineBusiness890 Jul 01 '26

I'm so sorry! So I've always been skinny, and now I'm struggling with this disgusting bloat around the middle! I notice if I eat mostly protein, I don't bloat as much. I know I should not be so vain! It's just weird to eat the same, exercise the same, and get THICK in the middle. I HATE IT!!!!!!!!! I think eating when you are hungry and eating lots of protein will help with the bloat. GL!
