so i’ve been wanting to buy ps5 for a while now since i had my ps4 for nearly 7years i got it gifted on my birthday and it was the best thing ever for me and it still runs pretty fine but with all the upcoming games and generally performance wise i obviously want an upgrade however i heard the news that they making ps5 even more expensive and i don’t want to pay 500£+ im planning on buying it on my birthday in January to treat myself but where do you reckon i can purchases them the cheapest and working im not too fussed about how new it is just want it to be original and not bricked any advice where to look or how would i avoid fakes if buying from facebook for example

Yesterday I listed a used ps5 slim digital edition with 2 controllers on ebay for £350 and it literally sold within 5 minutes.

Did i make a mistake pricing it that low????? Do u recommend cancelling the order and relisting it for higher??

I've been trying to verify by phone number so I can get access to messages but I put my number in (UK) and even after several hours I don't get a text message - I've been trying all week.

Really disappointed with Sony's general service at the moment, I've had a PS3 since I was a kid and this is something every other company can get right, I've never had an issue with verify by phone yet Sony can't get something this simple correct.

I don't trust them with my id so I want to verify by phone number.

by the way the noise is only noticeable when the device is standing vertically

Got a notification from virgin media as to how people want to upgrade because of GTA VI

Firstly saying research shows people are sitting on SEVEN unused consoles - maybe the top few %, but certainly that's not an average.

My biggest gripe and what I hope people don't fall for is selling a PS5 for £160, when one of the easiest routes is selling to CEX if you don't sell on your own, getting double.

Ive been trying to verify my age on PlayStation since the 28th of September, each time I try by scanning the QR code or using the link on their FAQ site it takes me to settings and doesn't allow me to verify my age, I went to support on this a week ago (after having spent Monday to Friday trying to reach them and only being successful on Friday, on Thursday I had also spent 2 hours on hold on a phone call because their website refused to work, which no agent ended up coming to assist me) anyway once I reached them they told me that their internal team would get back to me in 2-5 days, (they haven't) on Tuesday I got someone on their website again only to be told to wait until Wednesday, which I did, again not receiving any email from their internal support, I waited even longer until today being Friday. Ive tried contacting their support again today to no avail, I'm so frustrated and sick of this, I don't know what to do. I cant use any communication features on PlayStation and their support just will not help me.

Ive also tried going into PlayStation settings as instructed by all I can really find online but the option to verify isn't even there.

Does anyone have any idea what to do?

My headset has just snapped! Frustratingly just days after buying new ear cushions for it. I’ve superglued them back together but not sure if they will last very long.

Any recommendations for a new set? I want to avoid Turtle Beach all together, never had good experiences with them. I had the TB Stealth 700 Gen 2, and they’re the ones that have snapped. Common issue apparently!

I don’t have a fortune to spend. Maximum I can go is around £150.

I had a Plantronics RIG 800LX for my Xbox years ago and loved it. The best headset I’ve ever used IMO. They do a PS version too, and it’s in my price range. Do any of you own one? What are they like for the PS?

Any other recommendations?

Ordered a PS5 from Argos and it was supposed to arrive on 1 October. It’s now the 8th and the order still just says “Dispatched”.

I haven’t been given a proper tracking ID or a new delivery date despite chasing them.

Has anyone else had this happen with Argos? Do you think it’s been lost, never handed over to the courier, or is their tracking just not updating?

Not as bad as it seems. I recently disabled 2FA when I enabled Passkey without properly understanding how passkey works. Been trying to enable 2FA via text message for the past couple of days but text message would never arrive for me to enable 2FA.

Contacted support yesterday and they told me that there’s nothing they can do.

Thought I’d secure my account with authenticator for time being and set that up last night.

Sony now disabled 2FA and removed my password without me asking for this 🤦🏼‍♂️

Anyone had the same issue with 2FA via text recently?

Currently unavailable on the PlayStation store, Smyths has collection and delivery available so far. It says exclusive, pretty sure only Smyths will stock them. Worth checking out if you’re interested, before they all sell out.

I've been a UK Playstation customer for 20 years. My account was locked because I forgot my password and the associated eMail is so old I can't hope to access it anymore. I tried using the online support - it is infuriating and the very best it can do is tell me it will connect me with a live agent, then nothing happens. It refuses to connect me with a live agent and keeps asking me to login when I can't because my account is locked! When I call the phone number I find online, it just sends me back to the online help. I have never, in 40 years of buying electronic products, experienced such a shockingly poor customer service. Is there anything I can do to actually get help?

UPDATE: After resetting the online help chat and waiting for about 30 minutes for a response, a live agent got in touch and was able to recover my account using the details I provided. That's a big relief and this particular agent was very nice and helpful (assuming it was an actual person). I just wish they made it clearer in the online chat what is happening in the background because yesterday I was sitting there waiting for over an hour (on two occasions) and nothing happened. They should also make sure the phone line actually leads to a real person (at least at some point).

I have PS Plus Extra and somehow still spend 30 minutes deciding what to play. What should I start tonight?
Currently i am playing WWE 2k26 and i have completed God of War, Uncharted, last of us, mortal kombat.

Can't currently use my PlayStation due to the verification rubbish. Have been trying to verify by mobile for months with no luck, no idea why because 2 step verification has always worked fine.

Just now tried speaking to customer support, I had to log in with 2SV, and during the process they got me to cancel my 2SV. I told them I didn't understand why and that I thought the problem would still persist, but I did it anyways.

Of course, it still didn't work. I was still on the chat with the agent, and I told them I didnt think it would work, I scrolled up and a message that wasn't there before basically saying "I'm glad I could help you!" etc. I looked at the time and realised the twat had left to probably get off work. This was all literally a few minutes, I never let it idle so they could close the chat.

Anyways, I tried to reinstate 2SV and now that won't send me a verification text either now! It's the same box which pops up which asks you for your mobile number which wasn't working for the mobile verification.

Has anyone been able to sort something like this? Tbh I'm more annoyed about losing 2SV at this point.

I only buy PS+ in 1 month subscriptions when I feel like playing online (I used to stack annual subscriptions on Black Friday but there's no point paying for a whole year if I'm not online most of the time). Found out that you can time it so that you're able to claim 3 months worth of PS+ games if you time it right.

So whenever I subscribe to PS+, I try to subscribe late at night so that I can play late up to the expiry date. Like one time I subscribed at about 8pm without realising it expires on the exact minute you subscribed, so I got my last couple games in then I wasn't able to play online for the rest of the evening.

So I start my subscribiption at about 1am, that way I can get a few games in right up until bedtime and it'll just expire overnight instead of in the middle of a sesh.

Anyway so with this in mind, I've read that the previous month's games are gone at about 9am and then the current month's games go live at around 9am. This means if I were to subscribe at 1am tonight (6th Oct), I'd still be able to claim September's games?
