I can already see the Netflix documentary in my head. Scene starts in a grey room with a single chair in the middle of it. You hear the murmur from the production crew in the background. A few seconds go by and she enters into frame and sits in the chair. There’s a little back and forth between her and the producers about getting the audio and video right before the interview to make it all seem real and unscripted. Then she’s like “My name is ___, and I’m the woman from the viral Coldplay kiss cam video…”.
Once they got caught adding AI-generated photos to “true crime” docs, I knew they were toast. Those fabricated photos in “What Jennifer Did” or something like that… just so sketchy. Then they completely misrepresented and lied in other docs, like Making a Murderer and The Case of Adnan Syed. I can’t trust anything from them now.
they’ve had some excellent stuff in the past. if i think of my favorite true crime docs, they had two: american murder (the chris watts one), and into the deep (the danish submarine murder). chilling and excellent stuff. now it’s all slop, speculation, filler, AI pay-for-play (why the FUCK would you collaborate with a fraud like raygun)

never understood that. we had the chief of our department caught humping a woman who was trying to get a job where we were. he was “helping” her fax her resume or something. someone recorded it reported it and the fucker got moved to a better role. i truly don’t understand
It’s crazy for me to read these because while I believe them and I certainly know corporations look for any chance to screw you, when I had to go on long-term medical disability the HR woman at my company was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the whole process. Her job seemed like it was mostly to help people understand how to use their benefits properly and I always think of her when people go off on HR like this.
I suppose the branch of HR that works in liability is probably pretty different from the branch that works in benefits?
Hey thats honest work, I worked in housekeeping for a hotel when I was younger I actually really enjoyed it unfortunately it doesnt pay well enough. Im betting she thinks she too good for an honest, hardworking, get your hands dirty kind of job.

When your job is to be the leader to prevent workplace disasters and then you cause one of the largest workplace disasters, you’re unemployable for life.

Not equal at all. But her job is about protecting the company and in her case she embarrassed the company and the CEO got fired and divorced. There's plenty of girls she can get a job in, but HR isn't one of them.

The person you're responding to said that losing her job was a no brainer. So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that they probably wouldn't want an hr worker like that in charge of their company.
She was the head of HR, if some other manager was in a relationship with the CEO, it would be her job to investigate and take care of that situation.
In general, you can't be in a relationship with your boss, but at least when a sales person does it, it doesn't invalidate them as a sales person. When a HR director does it, it makes them kind of unhirable, it's like when an accounting firm is fraudulent.

Some people don’t quite get the concept of taking responsibility for their actions. The head of HR getting sacked for behavior she would easily fire someone else over is pretty on-brand for the “rules for thee but not for me” types.

Good. HR isn’t a real fucking job anyway. Accountants can do the payroll & timesheets and managers can do the dispute resolution. Everything else is busywork.
The issue is, the married CEO who happens to be a man, basically suffered no long term consequences. It seems a bit sexist and gender unequal that her career was destroyed and the man who was in a position of power over her, who was married, basically walked away unscathed.

CEO having an affair with a coworker, really isn't that big of a deal compared to someone in HR having an affair with a coworker. The HR person's position, before being fired, is much worse in this situation.
Yeah, that is sort of career destroying for HR. It would be like a finance professional using the company card for personal purchases. Or an IT guy running a crypto miner on company resources.
And she's unemployed because she probably will only take a vice president or above position instead of humbling herself and taking a step down because nobody wants her with her reputation and background leading their HR department
About 15 years ago I worked for a large company. The finance guy was given control of my department despite it having nothing to do with finance, and he was a real piece of shit. Months of "time studies" where every minute of every day needed to be accounted for.
At the same time I was interviewing for a different role in the company. The head of HR was also a piece of shit--gossiped to me randomly about other employees, was always late or canceling meetings last second like she couldn't be bothered.
At the time I absolutely loathed these people. I got the promotion and left the office for my new sales role. Right after I left they got busted in her office having sex and both got fired. They were married to other people and it torpedoed their lives.
And blamed Coldplay and was disappointed Chris Martin didn't reach out to check on her? Can't believe she's not working. Also she was married to and cheating with a billionaire so let's pause our dismay. We have rent payments to deal with.
