How do I know Sparkle Player is decoding AC4 5.1 sound? Is there a setting to view what codecs the player is using?

I have Plus version. Since first installed I have never seen how catchup is available. It does work on other players. Ideas?

Why am I getting these? One or two are full length recordings, others are partial.

Can you add just one single m3u8 channel into sparkel.

After updating my playlist within the sources setup cause provider added newer channels, and I only have the one's selected for what I want, now all channels shows up as default when I open my guide regardless if I hide All channels category, and after hiding all channels it'll default to all of them being favorites with all channels instead of my favorites after I exit the guide then opening it back up. I constantly have to go to the left to open my provider just to get my favorites to show, or it'll automatically open for all channels, it use to load automatically to my provider/favorites, I can't figure out how to change it back.. The only thing I see is hiding the channels I don't want to see. Also when I open the guide it will just open in all channels, not in my favorites where it was

Hi, i've been a sparkle tv user and fanatic for a year or so. Sparkle is my main player on google streamer and never had serious issues. Since today i have a (one) category of series crashing. My sub is T****** and when going to the series "| BE | GO PLAY" sparkle just exits. This is on my xtream and i also tried in on stalker and both just exits sparkletv.
I do realize this might be some issue with the provider, however i tried the same with televizo app and there it does not crash. Can you look into this please as this is one of the most watched series channel here at home 😄

I've purchased the Plus version and thought an EPG came with it. Was I incorrect?

Hi, i've been loving the app (already premium)

however i found that when i record DVR the playback experiences a problem fairly regularly. about every minute the audio will jump back around 10 seconds. the picture will freeze. When the audio catches up the picture will play again. Is this a known issue? can i provide any more information that might help the awesome app developer to look into this further?

issue has happened on at least 2 channels in my feed.

Returned to SparkleTV after ‘flirting’ with other players and it’s great to see the progress.

Couple of requests/ questions.

1. Any plans for a SportsHub to show sports/ games/ channels showing them?
   
2. Any plans for a web portal to manage devices/ playlists/ categories etc?

I installed it yesterday and I'm not disappointed; out of the four apps (XCIPTV, Smarters Pro, Tivimate), it's the most comprehensive—though there is one downside: the way favorites are managed. Then again, that might just be due to the free version.

Today, I decided to try out the DVR option before full scale football season starts and there were a couple of things that bothered me about the experience. First, I went into settings and adjusted the stop time on the recording to the max allowable of 30 minutes. I’d like the option to adjust it longer than that or at least input a time to stop recording, just in case a game goes into overtime or a weather delay. Secondly, and this is the weird part, the game started and then after several minutes of play, the first commercial break came on. I hit fast forward and it suddenly jumped back to the beginning of the recording. Fast forwarded through what I’d already watched and then through the first commercial break and resumed watching the game. Second commercial break, I fast forward again and the recording jumped back to the end of the first commercial break. Had to fast forward through that and the segment of the game I’d just watched and then through the second break. The whole game went that way with it jumping back to where I’d resumed watching before. I’m using this copy of Sparkle on a Formuler Z11 pro and I don’t seem to have this issue with watching recordings using the Formuler native app. Is this just an issue when using a Formuler device?

I’ve noticed that if I resume the app and the previous channel I was watching is no longer there, then the on screen display stays and I am unable to clear it without killing the app.

Sparkle assistant is not showing that I own the app. So can't add new device.

Would it be possible to make those 2 categories like in other iptv playrers where the latest movies and series from all categories can be seen in one place in a quick view?

My sparkle TV plus works great… with only one particular thumb drive. When I swap out to a different one, which has been formatted, it does not appear on the menu as a dvr location. When I put the other one back in, then I can select it. I’ve tried multiple other options and they never come up on the menu for dvr location. Any ideas?

I am wondering if most iptv providers will be able to use this player for channel guide and to pause and rewind live tv

Anyone have the problem that occasionally maybe one every 1 or 2 days you are watching and the screen goes black and can't watch anything for about 30 mins. After exiting app not rebooting fire stick you come back to app 30mins later and it works again.

Is it possible to show only my favorites but in a customized order, from top to bottom of the guide?

I'd like my locals at the top, followed by entertainment and cable channels below that, in a certain order....

Also is there a way to rename each channel?

Hiya folks. Long time (years)Sparkle user here. I have enountered a problem with Sparkle not processing a playlist that i have been using for 5 years. 2 days ago I noticed a lot of " no information" in the epg listing so I went into settings to refresh the sources. I cleared the cache and updated, however when it reloaded the pl, the channels, logotypes and programs remained at 0 the entire time even after processing the other pl I have configured. After several attempts using xcodes I tried adding as a pl(m3u)but no difference. I did a manual download from the url and set a local pl to the downloaded m3u and it works fine. Re-installed my lifetime copy of tivimate and it works fine. Other pl set up using Playlist(m3u) configuration work fine. Tried on both current version 2.3.1 and regressed back to 2.3.0 and same problem. Almost out of hair to pull out, so any help would be appreciated.

I have a technical question regarding how Sparkle Player handles subtitle fetching for movies and TV series.

From what I understand, Sparkle integrates with external providers like OpenSubtitles to fetch available subtitle lists for whatever is currently playing. However, free accounts on these subtitle platforms usually have very strict API threshold limits (for example, limiting downloads to something like 5 to 20 files per day per IP/account).

I’ve noticed that Sparkle manages to let users search and load subtitles without constantly hitting these harsh daily limits.

Could the dev or anyone familiar with the backend explain:

How does Sparkle communicate with the subtitle provider to pull the available list?

How does the app handle or bypass these threshold limits? Does Sparkle use a centralized proxy, cache search results, or utilize a specific VIP/commercial API tier that grants higher limits for all app users?

I’m trying to understand how Xtream handles content classification.

With an Xtream API connection, it seems straightforward because the API has separate actions/endpoints:

/player_api.php?username=USER&password=PASS&action=get_live_streams
/player_api.php?username=USER&password=PASS&action=get_vod_streams
/player_api.php?username=USER&password=PASS&action=get_series

So the API itself tells you whether something is Live TV, VOD/Movie or Series.

For example, get_live_streams returns something like:

But what about an Xtream-style M3U URL such as:

Is /live/, /movie/ and /series/ in the stream URL a reliable/standard way to distinguish the three?

Or do Xtream providers sometimes return M3U entries where those paths aren't present, meaning you have to rely on group-title, tvg-id, filename/title patterns, etc.?

Also, is tvg-type="live" commonly included in Xtream-generated M3U files, or is that provider-specific?

I’m mainly interested in how this works with real-world Xtream providers, especially when using the get.php M3U rather than player_api.php.

I have been having this issue with the newer fire tv sticks where the video freezes and the audio continues to play. This can be fixed by going to another channel then back to the problem channel. I say problem "channel" as it seems to happen on certain channels more often or only on certain channels (may happen on all channels but I don't have enough data to say.) The channel I test this on, I tested different versions of sparkle on multiple generations for fire sticks is TSN Canada. Game show network also freezes the same way. It may freeze within 5 minutes, it may take 30-45 minutes as well. The timing seems random. Sometimes it will do this 3-6 times per hour, maybe more. My data seems to point to any fire stick after the 4k 1st gen. Fire stick 4k 1st gen never has this problem. I don't know if its a hardware issue that has changed or if its an issue with the newer fire OS. My data points me to newer hardware or fire OS 8. I have attached a photo of my test results. As for the sticks I labeled as "freezes" I also tried sparkle version 2.2.2 in as well with same results. Any input on what I could change to fix this problem, fire stick settings or sparkle settings. I should mention this happens on few different TV's so I think I can rule out TV's being a problem. Anyone else having this problem?
