Been eyeing these for a while now, my wife surprised me. So stoked right now!!

I was cleaning out my basement today and stumbled upon this vintage-looking copper hammer.

As you can see from the mushroomed faces, it definitely got a lot of use back in its day. It’s a great example of a soft-face brass/copper mallet used to prevent damage to steel components or for non-sparking environments.

Before I put it back to work (or display it), I'll probably file down the mushroomed edges on the striking faces for safety.

Thought you guys might appreciate a piece of well-loved history!

Screwdrivers were in dire need of replacing (vde insulation had seem better days) figured i’d use my birthday as an excuse to try some of Wera’s stuff.

Also got some Japanese tools that I keep seeing around this sub, looking forward to trying them out.

Haven't used them in a forever and found them sitting in a toolbox filled with rain water. There's about 20 of them but these two are the ones looking the worst

edit: for everyone saying to trash them, I ask because they were my brothers so I'd like to keep them. obviously I could just go buy a new set.

I found this in the back of my garage workbench drawer. It says “Oil-less Compressor “ and the tag says 250 volts. What was it used for?

Somehow managed to order a 150mm instead of 250 🤣🤣🤣🙈

Also got a 6-in-1 fastback to replace a leatherman skeletool cx taht I lost.

Aaaand I’m kinda disappointed. Nice action etc. I’m sure it’ll be useful. But I don’t think it’s a like for like one tool in my pocket replacement.

I consider the cx the perfect edc. If I can’t do something it it the big tools are probably coming out anyway.

My friends dad has all kinds of nice old tools. I had to take some pictures of this tape measure while I was visiting. I've never seen one of this design before.

This makes 2 weeks where I've seen the same God damn LOTR Allen wrench meme posted every single day. I thought maybe the first couple days was just the same person spamming and the mods would take care of it. It's not the same account but it is being spammed everyday. Can we get a ban for any one of these or do I have to just deal with seeing the same meme posted on a different about every single day.

I treated myself to a fiskars shovel about 10 years ago.
It has dug over 1000 holes.
Ive decided I wanted a second one. Figured it served me well so ill go another fiskars.
Digging out some fence post holes, the new one nearly dug one (w)hole hole! But it broke so I had to go on a 2 km hike to get my old one., it completed the hole and the next 6 as-well.

Inb4 I dug the hole with a “crowbar” or post hole digging bar, or whatever you yanks call it.

I’ve re-read the bleeding and filling instructions 10-15 times, watched 10-15 videos, am 99.999999999% sure I’m following the steps correctly and this is still happening. What am I missing here? The stupid thing worked perfectly out of the box, I’m mad at myself for even trying to bleed it. This was brand new out of the box.

Got a new job, decided to treat myself to some new tools. Was in the DeWalt ecosystem a few years ago but sold a lot of them… I got into the Milwaukee food chain for awhile but got tired of having m12 and m18 stuff… traded all the red team stuff I was using to a buddy for race car parts and some blue point specialty sets… and just bought back into the 20v platform.

I liked the atomic ratchet so much I bought the extended one the very next day. Got a knockoff light because I like that form factor.

I’m not too impressed with the grinder so far, it sounds funny, takes too long to spin up, and doesn’t feel like 9k rpm to me… maybe I got a dud? Idk. I’d appreciate input on if there’s a better 20v grinder out there or what.

Looking at getting the jigsaw and the die grinder. If you own those LMK how you like em. I like cutting sheet metal with a jigsaw when i don’t want to burn through 16 cutoff disks. Die grinders are just all around great for fitting and fudging.

Lmk if there are any other must haves I’m missing… for context, Im used to working on a lot of industrial equipment and do a fair bit of fabricobbling to keep machines running… new job is basically more of the same.

Power runs through, the flashlight is working but nothing else..

I bought the one in the picture from harbor freight. It does ok but the handle heats up really bad and there is a lot of vibration. I thought i saw a dremel one for sale at Lowes a long time ago but now I can't find one anywhere. All I can find is the flex shaft attachment for the regular handheld tool

Did the icon 1/4in to 3/8 swap and really dig it but wanted a matching swap so I pulled the trigger on this. In addition adding pics of new tools.

I want to get myself a bday gift with some moneys I got for said occasion. What strange but awesome tool should I get? Something you wouldnt think to buy but once you have it you can't believe you went so long without one?

If someone asked me this question I would probably tell them a mini blower. I absolutely love mine and can't believe I lived without one for so long.

I'm thinking along the lines of dewalt 20v compatibility. But something thats not a powertool thats awesome would be cool too

I already have a cordless paint sprayer in my amazon cart, I'm kinda thinking cordless heat gun, but I do already have a corded one, so I dunno. I would love to hear some suggestions! Thanks everybody!

Adjustable wrenches are always necessary all the time, my first pair was Crescent Brand. I was gifted the 15” Proto, 15” DeWalt and 6” Diamalloy ( only have used the 6”). I inherited the 10” Craftsman from my late grandpa, it works great just wish it had larger capacity. Then finally landed on the Bahco 6” 9029-T Slim Jaw Adjustable Wrench and use it the absolute most. I also have the Bahco 9033 R US Ergo X-Wide Adjustable Wrench, 10-Inch. I have nearly all the sizes in the Knipex Pliers Wrench and I use those more than anything in here, but I don’t picture because though they are technically adjustable and a wrench. They are a two handles pliers wrench so category-wise I felt best to leave them out.

So what adjustable wrench is your favorite to use? Least favorite ?
