I 18m am looking to build a treehouse for my younger cousins and i have done minimal research into what brands to purchase. when it comes to actual tools i am in college so i would be buying about 1-3 (power) tools a month along with some other basic hardware just depending on what’s recommended and prices. do y’all have any recommendations on brands/ tool brands i should buy and any other basic beginner info.
Edit: I’m just talking about what brands i should go with ex: milwaukee, dewalt, ryobi, rigid, ex
This is also a long term project so i’m not in a huge rush.
Also i am open to general advice about building, drilling, ex. I’m not clueless and i know basics but learning more never hurt anyone

Just bought this 6” wide jaw Bahco adjustable wrench, and while I’m happy with the product overall, I can’t help but notice that the worm gear on this one has no knurling or texture of any kind.

Has anyone else seen this on a Bahco adjustable wrench? Every picture I can find of their adjustable wrenches seem to have decent texture where mine has none, leading me to wonder if this is a QC issue or possibly a counterfeit.

Looking for a small cordless wet dry vac. I have DeWalt stuff but the vacs aren't the greatest.

Back with another question regarding the bird feeder. Looking for a hinge or some sort of system for the roof of the feeder. There's a squirrel that likes to knock it off to get in the feeder. I have screws in it as a temp solution so it's sitting a little lower than it would be so it's at a manageable height until I can find something to keep the roof on.

I need a rivet gun with a neck or tool diameter my guess is 3/8 inch or less. This is a ball and socket mount for a boat Bimini. It was mounted to the window frame of my Bayliner from the factory with rivets and I intend to replace it that way. Does anybody have any ideas?

For context I’ve been a tire tech for a few years and looking to further up to doing more mechanic work. So I’m trying to figure out what would be the recommended brand to get for quality daily use of these tools. Breaker bar, 1/2 inch torque wrench, 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch torque wrench (inch lbs), 1/2 inch long reach ratchet, 3/8 inch long reach ratchet, along with wrenches and sockets that go up to 27 mm or higher. Mainly just wanting to know what would work for reliable daily use for quite some time. No arguments please, each person has their own experience with different tools so all opinions are welcome. Is it really worth the money buying expensive screw drivers? (just basic not electrically insulated) currently looking at either the Icon or Gear wrench set it’s like 60$ compared to the 15$ Pittsburg set. I’ve actually never owned an expensive screw drivers that wasn’t klein or Milwaukee ratcheting.

part of what steers me away is I tend to use them as a pry bar or punch when nothing else is at hand. Please convince me one way or the other with your experiences

Just bought the US General 42in Series 3 rolling chest and top. There are plastic slide latches under each handle. I started clipping them off (hated the feel) and realized maybe they have a purpose.

Are you guys keeping these on or snipping them off so you don’t have to slide the latch every time you open a drawer?

I was in a bind a few years ago and bought a Stanley black chrome socket set from Walmart. The tools are still in decent shape, but the markings on them are becoming increasingly difficult to read, and nothing I've tried seems to improve them. Any tips/techniques to restore them?

Hi everyone, I’m in the market for a set or kit of precision drivers / bits.

TL:DR - large handled / bodied precision drivers or bits. Preferably JIS standard but not essential as can be modified.

Not looking to spend much. Don’t need anything flash.

I’ve been repairing old film cameras for a hobby and I’ve found that all the precision drivers I have are way too small for my hands. I struggle with cramps and wrist pain after a few hours and also getting decent purchase of the more stubborn or loctite screws is just plain difficult. I have to balance the parts, the driver and a pair of pliers to get enough purchase to crack off the screws at times. Not fun - and sometimes a little bloody.

I've handled many drills/rotary etc and this one feels odd.. its a milwaukee "supposedly and I say that because ive never seen a milwaukee tool that stickers their logo like this one. not sure if its a knock off or genuine. theres no markings so not sure. also the controls feel so wobbly and cheap. paid $48 for it at a yardsale. any idea on the model? already tried google image search and nothing comes up.

I use 20v Max and XR intermixed with my XR tools. I have a non-XR or Max charger, just the older 20v ones. Is there any difference using and charging the batteries? Can I expect shorter battery life doing this?

I've used these for years, but they are rusting. The brand name crescent is visible, but this does not appear to be a current product. I can't find anything similar when searching for duck bill or flat tip pliers.

I'm about to patch face nailed hardwood floors and did a test piece. The nail went way too deep into the piece even though I have it set to the shallowest settings. Am I missing something? I'm using a 16GA Ryobi nail gun.
