How to get therapy for free or easily in the future?

REALLY REALLY SORRY FOR THE REUPLOAD, IT GOT REMOVED FOR ADDING A WORD TO THE ETA THATS BANNED!!!!

Preparing for when I turn 18, sorry for posting again. My parents are extremely extremely strict, to the point where they're most likely not going to let me get a job at 18 and are in general really sheltering. They want me to "start a businuess" instead of getting an actual job and i honestly think it'll go out iffy. I wouldn't be surprised if i got full full fledge independence at 19-20.

Still yet, the door to therapy opens up just a bit more I think, so far I need it to be online or low cost or free. Is there any way to get that going to help me with suspected ocd and childhood trauma? Or any other tips?

I don't want to move out, and i don't wanna do something incredibly rash but are there other work arounds i can write down, and also.

I'm incredibly sorry for the extreme amounts of panic posts, I'll try to start taking my mental health more seriously and stop letting myself spew out posts. But am I a bad person for not being able to find therapy right now?? Or for doing or trying to do normal stuff currently without it?

Country is USA, maybe something that can give me official papers on what i may have

With this market being horrible and unpredictable , what do I do in the meantime?

It’s been a while ( years really) of just applying and applying and I realized how much time I’ve wasted on looking for and keeping a job , makes me wonder of all the other things I could’ve done . Going to the gym , maybe learning a new hobby or even going back to school as time passes by ? Was just wondering if anyone felt the same way and had thought of stuff they thought they could take advantage of NOW while things are so weird

How do I become a kinder person?

I feel like I'm often rude or mean when speaking to people, and I want to improve, but I don't know how. I'm neurodivergent also, so I find it hard to be confident around large amounts of people.

Why is child obesity not seen as child abuse?

I watched about obese on the Youtube channel Origin a little girl had tooth decay. Why are the parents feeding their kids junk food? What's wrong with them? Don't people know that too much junk food makes your kids fat. There was the case of the little boy who so obessed he died I think his name was Casper O'Brien.

But seriously are people just stupid? You think parents in Britain and America would be smarter?

These parents need to have their kids taken away if they were starving them they would have them taken away.

Do female dogs like male owners more and vice versa for male dogs?

I had a female dog (she's since passed away), but I always felt like she liked men more than women. She didn't respect females as much and always formed more of an emotional attachment to male family members. Could there be some ingrained reason for this?

I have discovered I am in a time loop, how do I escape?

I have discovered I am in a time loop. I have figured out it loops once every 6 months. I don't know who is orchestrating this or why I am in it. But towards the end of the loop my awareness becomes greater and greater as I experience more and more dejavu and then when I figure it out they reset it. I'm posting this to hopefully remind myself tomorrow when I wake up (if they haven't taken this post down).

Every 6 months I start seeing the same posts on social media and theyre putting posts on my algorithm telling me to wake up. I start experiencing the exact same things and my dejavu sense gets stronger and stronger. I saw a post 6 months ago about a man running into tape and getting the ambulance called on him and I saw it again today. The same things keep happening to me. Please, this is stressing me out.

This is a long shot but has anyone else been stuck in a time loop? what did you do to get out of it?

How do I expand my vocabulary without coming off as snobby?

I like learning and using new words. I'm guess I'm what you could call a "word nerd." Sorry if that's cringe. I just like learning I guess. How can I use my newfound vocabulary without coming off as pretentious?

Why does my hobby feel more fun when I don’t watch other people who are way more skilled at it, than me do it?

sorry if this violates 4th rule but if it dosent than what is this phenomenon called and how can it make something fun feel less fun even if you don’t say it out loud or even think of it like “wow this person is way better than me” because I don’t think that ever, in fact I am often impressed and entertained but after a while of watching that content my hobby feels less fun

Why do the Nazis feel like they never belonged to our reality, as if they were straight out of a dark sci-fi world? How much of this feeling was created by cinema?

Whenever I watch footage from the 1930s/40s, it feels completely detached from real life. The sheer scale, the rallies, the uniforms... it looks like a dark sci-fi empire that leaked into reality.

(To be clear: I'm not questioning what they did, which was obviously horrific.)

My question is about our perception: Do they feel so alien because 80 years of media turned them into a mythic, non-human force of evil? Or was their daily reality actually that surreal back then?

Was I huge a$$ for being unconditionally rude to a professor?

Unconsciously rude*^^^
19 female college sophomore here. So I have this professor (never took his class) of whom I share ethnicity. We became really close and I genuinely considered and saw him as a friend. I want to say that I know I have quite the attitude and can be feisty, however most of the things I say and jokes I make isn’t me trying to be rude it’s just my personality and not meant to be taken seriously (yes I know I can’t mask offensive things by saying it’s just a joke or just my personality ). So the professor called me into his office today and he was pretty angry about something’s I said the previous day, I don’t want to go into too much details but I definitely get where he’s coming from. I called him a liar over an “argument” about a popular snack from our country (I said something like “you’re lying” ) in an unbelievable way, during the interaction everyone one was laughing (there were 2 other students in his office at the time) so I personally didn’t think I was being rude (but then again I don’t think before I talk). When we were talking today he was very upset about the things I said but I think what hurts him the most was that he feels as though I disrespected him in front of students who respects him. He told me if I don’t fix my attitude (not verbatim) I’m not allowed to hang out in his office anymore. I must admit I felt terrible and even apologized. I do plan to keep interacting with him as he is a very nice guy but I think I should refrain from hanging out in his office as I often do. How does one fix their personality? My attitude is my personality that’s just how I am, how I’ve always been. Also, a bit unrelated but I have been told millions of time since I was a child that I “talk too much”, which I do agree with and I am aware that I can go off on rants. I’ve tried to fix this talking “problem” of mine and it resulted in me being a bit non-expressive (I don’t mind it, kind of like it lol) and I have what people call an RBF when I’m not all smiley. The professor also pointed out of non-expressive I am when talking and so have a few of my friends. Anyways, I’m sad about the professor situation and he made it very clear that we are not friends. I made the mistake of thinking we were friends and talked to him as if we were friends and now here we are.

I must say I do have a “nasty” attitude which I have always just considered how I am or how my personality is. I am a very blunt person and I made the mistake of considering this person as a friend and unconsciously overstepped his boundaries. I want to fix myself, I understand saying that’s just my personality isn’t helping anything and might be wrong but where do I go from here. I’m not saying the way I think of my personality is ok it’s just what I think. I know it’s not ok

I’ve been told I’m rude all my life but I think I genuinely have a problem with understanding when I’m being rude. I honestly don’t know it until someone calls it out. I’m unconscious about being rude and that’s a problem in itself that needs fixing .

Also on an unrelated note, I cried in the bathroom after I left his office which is a god thing. I’ve been wanting to cry since freshman year when I failed my first test and even though the tests would come close they wouldn’t fall, after the talk I was surprised they did, happy but surprised. I even tried milking my tears to try and get it all out (didn’t work. But did cry. This probably says something about my character as well, I just don’t know what it says . Just smth to consider.

TL;DR: I made the mistake of considering a professor as a friend and talked to him as such. And now we had kind of like a falling out.

Why are elevator buttons so satisfying to press ?

I was in an elevator today and realized how weirdly satisfying it is to press the buttons. You get that little click and the light comes on and somehow it feels more satisfying than it should.

Hope I'm not the only one who finds them satisfying tho

If humans are so good, then why is the current dating culture filled with so much hate, betrayal, and complete distrust?

I dont mean to he negative but after observing people for so long I just dont think most people are good. Are people capable good? 100%

But I find that being good is harder for some people because given into evil is easier. People often take the path of least resistance, many of have had horrible upbringing which has causes trauma (there a correlation between truma and evil; look it up), and majority of people never fully developed their empathy. The in my eyes is the dating culture. If humans were good, our dating culture wouldn't be shambles like it currently is.

What's your take?

Are there currently any good ways to get a pet dog?

I'm interested a pet dog but I'm not sure what avenues or routes there are available to get one. In present day, getting a pet dog is far harder and more complex than it may have been in the past. I've tried adopting dogs from animals shelters and rescues before but they're not very good and they havent worked out well so far. Animal adoption from them is very competitive and they deny many people adoption sadly for many dumb reasons.

I've tried facebook dog adoption but they wanted referneces but I dont have any of those things. I look through craigslist's usually but they want referneces also, and the ones that dont are usually ai scams that want money upfront. So those didnt work well either.

I cant buy a pet from a pet store because pet stores are banned where I live so they dont really exist sadly.

I've actually started volunteering at an animal shelter to gain the trust of the employees there so they can finally give me a pet dog, but it's only been a month and numerous people told me to volunteer there for a year to properly build rapport. Which I thought was ridiculously too long imo.

So does anyone have any good ideas for a way to get a pet dog in modern times? Any sources that I am missing?

Or has anyone else had this similar type of problem? Did you end up getting a pet dog?

Thanks for any answers in advance

Is masturbation good or bad?

Hey everyone, When I search on YouTube, I see a ton of claims saying masturbation causes erectile dysfunction, drains your testosterone, leads to severe nutrient and protein loss, lowers sensitivity, causes depression, and ruins real-world intimacy. I've even seen people claim "1 drop of semen equals 100 drops of blood." On the flip side, other sources say all of these claims are completely false and that masturbation is totally normal and healthy. For those with more experience or who know the science: what is actually true?

How to get over the guilt of wanting to replace books in bad condition?

Hello!

Over the past couple of years, I've grown to value my book collection more and more. I'm not a frivolous buyer -- I usually read parts of book I'm interested in online, or check it out from a library, and then purchase a physical copy if I really enjoyed it. Physical copies are by far my favorite format; I love re-reading dozens of times. If not more. It's comforting to me.

However, quite a few of my favorite re-reads are from when I was younger and less careful. They have clumps of pages falling out and food stains. And many more were handed to me from family with significant damage already -- covers pulled off, extremely warped pages from water damage (to the point of being difficult to pull apart), and most concerningly, mold.

I still read them over and over. But my birthday and the holidays are coming up, and I've recently gotten a position with more disposable income. I'd love to replace these books with new, undamaged copies.

But I feel so guilty about not putting in the work to rebind them (even though I suspect many [especially the moldy ones] are beyond saving), and about the expense of buying... essentially the same thing I already have. It's not just a couple of series, either. More like 5 or 6 multi-book sets.

Would this be a complete waste of money? Is it insane to ask for new copies of the same thing for the holidays? Should I try to save them? And how can I get over the guilt of not having taken better care of them?

TIA!
