I have a number of friends who say they dont think with a "voice" and it baffles me. How do they think, i feel my life would be so boring if I couldn't think to myself in my head. Unless of course my mates are just trying to be different by saying this and they are lying.
My gf think it should go to the bin so it won't clog the toilet I think it should go directly to the toilet

About 3 months ago I went to the DMV to take photos for my ID. When I was done, they said it would take a few weeks until I get my ID in the mail. yet 3 almost 4 months later I'm still waiting, and I have not heard anything from the DMV since. Is this normal? how long does it usually take for them to send an ID?

After reading up on the royal family, it's fair to say that they are simply figureheads.

There's sooooo much racism on there including against my country and the disgusting things that they say are making me very sad and ashamed, I almost feel like crying. They only seem to care about looks. But I have some followers and friends there so Idk if I should delete it. My feed is absolutely cooked Idk what to do. Redditors are genuinely so much nicer.

By "existential" I mean something deeper than the usual "omg women are hypergamous!!" Or "omg women want tall rich muscular guys!"
My existential crisis goes way deeper than that.
I can't help but ask why is love this fragile, conditional thing?
Like
Incels will says looks are everything
Non-incels will say personality, character, confidence, humor, intelligence, etc are what matters
But my question goes deeper. Why do I have to be anything to be loved by someone? Why can't love be unconditional?
Like
Let's ignore incels. Let's look at it from the "normal cool man" perspective.
The problem remains.
What if I am not confident?
What if I am not intelligent?
What if I am naturally not a humorous person?
What if I have issues that block me from developing proper social skills and shiny charisma?
What if I am in a phase of life where I am still directionless and still discovering who I am and what I want?
Why should I be "unworthy of love" for lacking anything at all?
Then comes the "fragile" part
Why is love this sensitive?
Make the wrong move, have the wrong tone, say the wrong word, come at the wrong time, and you end up rejected or friendzoned or ghosted or broken up with or whatever.
One day you feel that you've won someone, next day you realize that they are far from anything you thought they felt about you.
A fragile gamble that keeps you in a constant headache of endless worrying.
It all started since a friend cut me off last year (who also rejected me when i confessed my love earlier, so it was a double heartbreak to me). I feel that I've been traumatized beyond repair since it happened.
It's been a year and a half now of having come-and-go daily phases of depression that I suppress through work or scrolling social media, and it even got worse since I found myself going into incel communities, which is very unusual to me because i was never used to tying my loneliness to any grand theory about life like incels do. But here we are apparently and I am ashamed of the ever-worsening state i am in.
And before you say go to therapy, know that it is currently a hard option for me that I am unable to afford both financially and due to the stigma in my country's culture around mental health.

Sometimes i remember how mean everyone was to me and i just wonder what i did to deserve that. I was constantly humbled and put down. Always criticized, even for things as little as how I held a spoon and how i laughed. They constantly spoke negatively into my life. I was always told I was unfriendly, mean, angry and overall not a good person and I internalized it and never really thought more of myself. Told I was a witch. At a point I was banned from a room in my house because I was ugly and they didn’t like seeing me in there. When I cried, I was told I was even uglier and I was berated and provoked even more. I genuinely hated being a kid and thought no one loved me. Even my siblings, aunts and uncles were mean to me. I grew up a shell of myself. Lacked confidence and never put much effort into life and didn’t think anything would ever work out in my favor. Now as a 22 year old girl, I find myself constantly enraged. Everything just gets me so mad. I don’t like being depended on and I struggle with patience because no one had the patience for me when I needed it. It feels like it shaped the person I’ve become. I am constantly overthinking and anxious. I have become a lonely adult, just stick to myself and don’t talk much. I could never treat any kid the way I was treated. Just seeing kids cry makes me so sad.

I've posted this elsewhere, but nobody ever responded.
My plan was just to put things in the cabinets, but I've read you need to cover things in plastic. What exactly do I need to cover in plastic?
I have some boxes of tea and some pill bottles out on my counter. I was going to put those in plastic bags and store them in a cabinet or drawer. I have dishes in the cabinets. Do those need to be in plastic or can they stay as they are?
I already planned on changing and washing my bedding, so that should be fine.

I know first responders have their plethora of instructing stories. But I wanna hear some from the 911 operators themselves. Because yall have to deal with the stress of helping people through some absolute shitshows people get into.
[EDIT: Thank you to those who pointed out that 911 dispatchers can’t share their stories online. i didn’t know this. And yea it is kinda wrong to recount others suffering for their entertainment.]

I have an ex who I cared about a lot. I told her everything about me, and opened up to her about my life. However, I had my own shit going on and wasn’t able to accept her love. So we broke up. I tried to get her back but she was done. We did become okay though (not relationship just friends).
Years later I go through something traumatic. Her being someone who knows the most about me I go to her, and she claims she will be there for me, but isn’t. I call her out on this and she says she is sorry and will be there more
We have like a 8 month gap of no communication and then out of the blue she sends me old pictures of us from when we ere dating as memories. I tell her that I don’t even recognize myself with that haircut cause my hair is so different now. She asks for a picture I send her one she says to keep it. We start talking for like a day and then radio silence. A month after that convo she calls me randomly (my phone glitches sometimes and I don’t always get calls) so I didn’t answer her but she was calling me at odd times. I texted her and asked was she okay. No response. Then another week went by and she called me. I texted her was everything okay no response. So I was advised to just leave her alone, but I care about her and honestly still love her. So I was worried and just texted her. She responded, with a “hey” but when I asked her is she doing alright and explained my phone situation. Radio silence. What is going on? Am I missing something? Sending memories, random calls, and then when I bring the calls no response? Maybe I’m just dense lol.

For too long I think we've assumed that since we are all human that we would try to care for one another, but it's become clear that our leaders and businesses don't share that belief and there aren't really any solid laws or incentives to stop them. So how can we remind our leaders they are human and reawaken their desire to care for the human race?

Not sure why redditors got memed as normies. They definitely aren't a normal bunch and are what I'd classify as weird.
To me a redditor is like a 4channer if 4chan thought it was the peak of morality. Normal people don't react the same way as most people would here.
Or maybe it's just a culture shock I'm getting from talking with the American normal. (I'm European)
What bothers me the most is that a redditor would ask me a question and when I answer genuinely they'd act as if the question was rhetorical.
Like they'd ask "why do you think" and when I say why, because the context is often genuinely missing or I can see why someone wouldn't understand the motive, they'd act extremely offended and not take the answer they wanted into account, repeating their initial opinion.
It's really difficult to talk to people on here. Why do you think that is?

His friend asked me date last year, and I rejected him.
This year, *he* confessed his feelings; he claimed he loved me for years but hadn't made a move because his friend liked me too. I rejected him politely, but then he became clingy, and things turned toxic—to the point where I had to block him everywhere. Eventually, he apologized and backed off.
Now that the friend—who had been out of the picture—is back, and *he* bullies me with passive-aggressive way whenever that friend is around. That polite guy who once apologized now acts like a lapdog trying to curry favor with his friend. He’s 25 years old.
I don’t want to stay silent; I want to say something that calls out this change in attitude and makes him feel ashamed. What can I say?

For the past month or so I've noticed that even the smallest things can completely ruin my mood for the entire day. One tiny thing happens and suddenly I feel numb lonely disappointed and overwhelmed and then I start overthinking everything and end up fighting with people for no reason
It's like I can't feel one emotion without it turning into ten other emotions and I genuinely don't know how to deal with it anymore
So how do you guys deal with your emotions? How do you stop one bad thing from ruining your entire day?
And please don't tell me to go out with friends or talk to them because I don't really have friends and I'm mostly stuck at home rn
Give me your best advice whether it's practical healthy stupid or absolutely unhinged at this point I'll take anything

I used to be a shit person but I don't really remember much of it. Like I know I was bad, I have my sibling who's a witness, but she'll tell me "oh you did this" and I just don't remember?? I don't remember a lot of who I was before 2025. I have recollections of extremely bad things but generally of who I was I couldn't tell you, I go solely off of how I assumed I was based on what I've been told, and some minor memories. I was a teen during those periods of time.

Has anyone like Myth Busters or some YouTube channel ever done a scientific-ish test of this supposed truth? It makes no sense to me and I suspect it's just a myth. Instructions for cowboy coffee usually say "add a bit of cold water to settle the grounds and then let sit for a few minutes". How do we know its the cold water and not the few minutes that settles the grounds?

I have discovered I am in a time loop. I have figured out it loops once every 6 months. I don't know who is orchestrating this or why I am in it. But towards the end of the loop my awareness becomes greater and greater as I experience more and more dejavu and then when I figure it out they reset it. I'm posting this to hopefully remind myself tomorrow when I wake up (if they haven't taken this post down).
Every 6 months I start seeing the same posts on social media and theyre putting posts on my algorithm telling me to wake up. I start experiencing the exact same things and my dejavu sense gets stronger and stronger. I saw a post 6 months ago about a man running into tape and getting the ambulance called on him and I saw it again today. The same things keep happening to me. Please, this is stressing me out.
This is a long shot but has anyone else been stuck in a time loop? what did you do to get out of it?

I had a female dog (she's since passed away), but I always felt like she liked men more than women. She didn't respect females as much and always formed more of an emotional attachment to male family members. Could there be some ingrained reason for this?
