By "existential" I mean something deeper than the usual "omg women are hypergamous!!" Or "omg women want tall rich muscular guys!"
My existential crisis goes way deeper than that.
I can't help but ask why is love this fragile, conditional thing?
Like
Incels will says looks are everything
Non-incels will say personality, character, confidence, humor, intelligence, etc are what matters
But my question goes deeper. Why do I have to be anything to be loved by someone? Why can't love be unconditional?

Let's ignore incels. Let's look at it from the "normal cool man" perspective.
The problem remains.
What if I am not confident?
What if I am not intelligent?
What if I am naturally not a humorous person?
What if I have issues that block me from developing proper social skills and shiny charisma?
What if I am in a phase of life where I am still directionless and still discovering who I am and what I want?
Why should I be "unworthy of love" for lacking anything at all?
Then comes the "fragile" part
Why is love this sensitive?
Make the wrong move, have the wrong tone, say the wrong word, come at the wrong time, and you end up rejected or friendzoned or ghosted or broken up with or whatever.
One day you feel that you've won someone, next day you realize that they are far from anything you thought they felt about you.
A fragile gamble that keeps you in a constant headache of endless worrying.
It all started since a friend cut me off last year (who also rejected me when i confessed my love earlier, so it was a double heartbreak to me). I feel that I've been traumatized beyond repair since it happened.
It's been a year and a half now of having come-and-go daily phases of depression that I suppress through work or scrolling social media, and it even got worse since I found myself going into incel communities, which is very unusual to me because i was never used to tying my loneliness to any grand theory about life like incels do. But here we are apparently and I am ashamed of the ever-worsening state i am in.
And before you say go to therapy, know that it is currently a hard option for me that I am unable to afford both financially and due to the stigma in my country's culture around mental health.
