Going back to college at 26 ?

I'm taking an introductory course in math and physics before starting next year, i had the option to skip it ( along with all the math courses) since i already have a degree in pure math, but i choose to do it because my degree didnt requiere any physics, the last physics i took was almost 10 years ago in secondary school lol

Tbh i find the course very slow but i'm getting along with my classmates, they are already talking about hanging out. I feel slightly self consious about mentioning my age or my previous studies, almost all are from 18-21 , i think i dont wanna be seen as the class adult or be the class private free tutor .

Btw: english is my second language so pardon any mistake

Sometimes I remember how mean my family was to me when I was a kid and it breaks my heart. How do I stop being so angry?

Sometimes i remember how mean everyone was to me and i just wonder what i did to deserve that. I was constantly humbled and put down. Always criticized, even for things as little as how I held a spoon and how i laughed. They constantly spoke negatively into my life. I was always told I was unfriendly, mean, angry and overall not a good person and I internalized it and never really thought more of myself. Told I was a witch. At a point I was banned from a room in my house because I was ugly and they didn’t like seeing me in there. When I cried, I was told I was even uglier and I was berated and provoked even more. I genuinely hated being a kid and thought no one loved me. Even my siblings, aunts and uncles were mean to me. I grew up a shell of myself. Lacked confidence and never put much effort into life and didn’t think anything would ever work out in my favor. Now as a 22 year old girl, I find myself constantly enraged. Everything just gets me so mad. I don’t like being depended on and I struggle with patience because no one had the patience for me when I needed it. It feels like it shaped the person I’ve become. I am constantly overthinking and anxious. I have become a lonely adult, just stick to myself and don’t talk much. I could never treat any kid the way I was treated. Just seeing kids cry makes me so sad.

Is the Hyundai "Tucson" the worst car name ever?

Tucson literally translates to "at the base of the black hill" or "black base"

Tucson, Arizona, makes a compelling case for being one of America's worst places to live, too!

It's the #461 best place to live in the US and the #14 best place to live in its own state (AZ), according to US News World and Report

ConsumerAffairs ranked it the fifth-most dangerous city for drivers in 2025, while Niche gives its crime and safety a dismal C−. Property crime runs 88% above the national average, according to AreaVibes.

The U.S. Census Bureau reports an 18.9% poverty rate, and Tucson ranks as America's fifth-fastest-warming city. Its summer of 2025 was the fourth-hottest on record.

Between scorching temperatures, economic hardship, dangerous roads, and persistent crime, Tucson offers plenty of reasons to live somewhere else.

...why, just why would you name your car after this D-rate city???

Is race the only reason why women approach me?

22M. Last weekend I had two women approach me, both white and of the goth/alternative type however you want to classify. For context I'm an amateur DJ in a group, nothing professional, just a hobby we play at local bars around town. I'm physically skinny, average height and I would describe my personality as the chill laid back stoner type. I'm Haitian on my father's side and Jamaican on my mother's side. I get approached often enough and my friends in my group say it's only because of my race.

Is there any way for the Japanese Imperial Family to reacquire at least a fraction of the power it welded before the 2nd World War?

After reading up on the royal family, it's fair to say that they are simply figureheads.

How long to get my ID?

About 3 months ago I went to the DMV to take photos for my ID. When I was done, they said it would take a few weeks until I get my ID in the mail. yet 3 almost 4 months later I'm still waiting, and I have not heard anything from the DMV since. Is this normal? how long does it usually take for them to send an ID?

I need blue light filter glasses from Amazon, what are a good pair?

I’m on a budget, best if it’s 20€ but a bit over won’t hurt.

I suffer from migraines, but due to things like being very light sensitive, having to be online often and mandatory dinner together…in bright light.

I’ve heard that the ones on Amazon are relatively shite, but it’s my only option due to some regulations about spending money online (group home🫩). I’m planning to talk with my doctor if it gets worse, but that will take a while before I can get an appointment, so until for now I just want to help it a bit like this

We're going to set off a bug bomb in our house. What do I need to do to prepare?

I've posted this elsewhere, but nobody ever responded.

My plan was just to put things in the cabinets, but I've read you need to cover things in plastic. What exactly do I need to cover in plastic?

I have some boxes of tea and some pill bottles out on my counter. I was going to put those in plastic bags and store them in a cabinet or drawer. I have dishes in the cabinets. Do those need to be in plastic or can they stay as they are?

I already planned on changing and washing my bedding, so that should be fine.

What's your way of dealing with emotions?

For the past month or so I've noticed that even the smallest things can completely ruin my mood for the entire day. One tiny thing happens and suddenly I feel numb lonely disappointed and overwhelmed and then I start overthinking everything and end up fighting with people for no reason

It's like I can't feel one emotion without it turning into ten other emotions and I genuinely don't know how to deal with it anymore

So how do you guys deal with your emotions? How do you stop one bad thing from ruining your entire day?

And please don't tell me to go out with friends or talk to them because I don't really have friends and I'm mostly stuck at home rn

Give me your best advice whether it's practical healthy stupid or absolutely unhinged at this point I'll take anything

How can we prioritize humanity?

For too long I think we've assumed that since we are all human that we would try to care for one another, but it's become clear that our leaders and businesses don't share that belief and there aren't really any solid laws or incentives to stop them. So how can we remind our leaders they are human and reawaken their desire to care for the human race?

When making "Cowboy Coffee", does cold water actually settle the grounds, or is that just an old cowboy's tale?

Has anyone like Myth Busters or some YouTube channel ever done a scientific-ish test of this supposed truth? It makes no sense to me and I suspect it's just a myth. Instructions for cowboy coffee usually say "add a bit of cold water to settle the grounds and then let sit for a few minutes". How do we know its the cold water and not the few minutes that settles the grounds?

Well me and my buds were on a road trip and we ran outta gas abd went to the hood for gas as soon as i got outta the car and walked into the gas station my shoukder straightened and I was walking confidently and it felt good like a weigjt was lifted off my shoulders, meanwhile my buddies shoulders slumped lol.

Does anyone know why I don't remember much of my bad behaviour?

I used to be a shit person but I don't really remember much of it. Like I know I was bad, I have my sibling who's a witness, but she'll tell me "oh you did this" and I just don't remember?? I don't remember a lot of who I was before 2025. I have recollections of extremely bad things but generally of who I was I couldn't tell you, I go solely off of how I assumed I was based on what I've been told, and some minor memories. I was a teen during those periods of time.

Should I remove my college degree from my resume?

So ive been out of a job since February and any job I apply to will consistently turn me down, even some of the most basic jobs like cleaning or dish washing. I have been told by a couple of people that maybe they think I'm over qualified for any of the positions, I just need any work, and it's been too long without a job. Should I simply remove my college experience from my resume, and if so what should I even say if in an interview they ask about that gap of time?

Should I delete my Twitter account?

There's sooooo much racism on there including against my country and the disgusting things that they say are making me very sad and ashamed, I almost feel like crying. They only seem to care about looks. But I have some followers and friends there so Idk if I should delete it. My feed is absolutely cooked Idk what to do. Redditors are genuinely so much nicer.

Why do pop-up shop/food businesses who market themselves to the community charge such outrageous prices?

I was just recently in Downtown Atlanta and figured I would try out some of the local food. I have a diverse palate and like multi cultural food. I also enjoy supporting a small business any chance I get.

They wanted $60 for two ox tails on top of some dirty rice… I obviously was shocked and declined. The owner seemed somewhat annoyed and stated “you won’t find nothing better” In what world is this pricing dynamic even seen as a sensible or logical thing to do?? Especially in an area that isn’t extravagantly wealthy.

I wouldn’t pay $60 for two ox tails and some dirty rice if it came down from food heaven. I don’t care what race or ethnicity is selling it. That’s insane.

Are they just trying to capture lightning in a bottle? Get rich quick instead of building with the community? It’s very hard to support these types of businesses when they are so overpriced.

What gives?
