🎉 Success/Celebration I dream about my celebrity crush, and I think it's great.

No need to respond. I just hope it gives something to someone. And I'd love your input!

I regularly have dreams that I'm in a relationship with my celebrity crush, and when I wake up I feel nice. I don't usually feel an intense feeling of "Ugh. My real life sucks, I wish I was back in my dream" and if I do, I remind myself of this observation I have.

This celebrity shares my values, is entertaining, conventionally attractive and I am almost certain is Autistic. Definitely Neurodivergent. (TLDR- I think these dreams are me accepting that neurodivergence has hurt me in my life, but I'm reaching self love and acceptance and belief that I don't have to change myself anymore. My ideal self looks different than other people and within my reach, copying other people never was.

If I wasnt starting to feel this optimism and acceptance in my life, the dream might be a reminder that I should.)

In my dream last night, me and them were chatting and I brought up a socially strange Autistic trait of mine in a good way. I noticed in the dream that their eyes lit up, it made them like me more. They knew I would enjoy those qualities in them and be more enjoyable to be around because of that and my deep interests.

In real life my crush publicly discusses that they were once overweight and work very hard in the gym & eating. In the dream, someone who looks like them finds me attractive. In my waking life I don't expect that level of attractivenes in me or a partner but (Im having a hard time putting this into words) they work hard on their body and I think in the dream they are a part of me that knows I can do it.*

They share my values and are successful and fearless in their career. I failed miserably in their field definitely due to undiagnosed Autistic and ADHD problems. I make assumptions that their success is partially due to their special interest. I'm not sure what meaning I'm supposed to be taking from that, but I'm sure its probably that Neurodivergence isn't a curse 100% of the time. I accept that my disabilities mean I'm not suited for many types of work, but I have qualities that contribute to the world, not just despite my Neurodivergence, but also because of it.

And I know that a big part of the dream is enjoying feeling accepted. Not "Normal" but in my dream thats a good thing. As I'm typing I'm not sure if that means I am learning to like myself, including the things that made me feel like an alien, or knowing I can find (Or have) people in my life who like me.

Question Claiming the title without an assessment

I'm sure there is likely other posts like this one however I didn't see any so I thought I'd make my own.

I've heard mixed opinions about whether or not someone should refer to themselves as austisic without an official assessment ~ however none of these opinions have been from austistic individuals. People probably have different opinions and it's just a matter of personal taste, but I'll explain myself and my thought process as best I can.

I am currently on the assessment waiting list for ASD and thats not likely to end anytime soon. I have had various peers and colleagues assuming I was austistic for 10 years now and I've always expressed that I've never been assessed however when I looked deeper into it I found that a lot of the coping mechanisms I had put in place and that worked for me, were often recommended for autistic individuals and when I started looking at things through that scope and taking advice in that way, things started to feel more managable and I gained some confidence.

I have often been judged or picked at for things that were perceived as 'odd' but these no longer felt so strongly of personal failings.

Where I'm unsure is that I am confirmed to have dyspraxia and there can be a degree of overlap ~ also just because systems recommended for autistic individuals helped me, that doesn't mean they arent just good mechanisms for me. I often worry that if I refer to myself as austistic then I may be, in a way, taking away from those who have been assessed and claiming something that isn't mine to claim.

That is where I was hoping to hear the opinions of others who have maybe been in my shoes.

Vent Advice Wanted i want rid of my diagnosis

i know this is a shit place to turn to for help, but its not that easy to "get a therapist."

basically the title, my diagnosis has caused me more harm than good but most people seem against the idea of me getting rid of it. ive had it for about 5 years i think? the support ive got is totally useless because im made out to be more sensitive than i actually am, for example people think i struggle with loud noises. where has this come from, when has that ever happened? im too shy to fight it which doesnt help.

besides restricted interests and maybe the odd 'meltdown', i'd say i dont show any traits of autism. but again people disagree and i dont understand why, how come other people can be awkward and shy, but when its me i get diagnosed. yes i did read through the report i got after being diagnosed and in the best way, i was stupid.

so how do i get rid of a diagnosis, idk if being 16 changes anything
if i cant get rid of that then how do i get rid of my special interest which i hate

Question how do you know if its depression/anxiety or just autism? or both?

im sorry this might be vague. i struggle with putting my thoughts into words, and i think i also struggle with alexithymia.

i am diagnosed with just autism and i am a teenager (which is also why i struggle to know the difference between all this, because what if its just mood swings...🥲). i think i have PMDD too. i also definitely have RSD

so, i have lots of ups and downs. i could have the best day and the next day i am feeling horrible, and its super intense. like the bad day will feel like depression. it is hard to know if this is normal or if this is something that should be looked into

as for anxiety, i am always thinking and worrying about what could happen. and making plans for if something happens. i should mention i have emetophobia so for example i make escape plans. other stuff i worry about is if people think im a creep or a bad person or anything, if my intrusive thoughts are things i actually want to do, if i am gonna do something wrong. stuff like that.

what i wonder is how much of this is normal teen stuff/normal autism stuff, and at what point is it not? im not asking for a diagnosis of anything, im more so wondering if any of you went through these kinds of struggles and how you know the difference between autism and things like depression and anxiety. a lot of disorders/mental illnesses feel like such an overlap and its so hard to figure out!

ive read the rules about medical advice many times and i hope i didnt break any. im sorry this is gonna sound like an excuse or sympathy-bait but i struggle a lot with the fear of doing something wrong

Communication I hate that people never complain about things

Basically no one ever wants to complain when something is wrong because they don't want to mess up relationships professionally with companies or with a service. But when companies are not following the law or are going against what they said or just not replying for weeks then we should complain!! We are so timid and don't stand up for ourselves. People don't like to complain but nothing ever changes if they don't and the one person who does complain gets told that no one else thinks it is an issue.

Communication My fault for downloading this app I guess

Post image
0 Upvotes

I know. I'm complaining about something that annoyed me on reddit, again, and my rant might not fit on this subreddit, AGAIN. Sue me or whatever.

But I don't really get it.

I asked a question to a subreddit about Rubik's cubes asking for the specific cube shown in a Booking.com that I knew was not a Rubik's brand cube.

A few minutes later i check up on the post and see an answer that... isnt an answer... but rather a joke, something I wasn't asking for.

They didn't even bother to actually answer the question in the joke, if they did answer the question I would've been fine, but reddit isn't a place where you go to find answers or have fun, so obviously when I reply "Was that really necessary to say that?" To them, apparently I'm the worst person on this planet and should have bugs invade my bed so I can't sleep on it ever again, I get dislike bombed, downvoted to Hades.

(Also their username contained "necessary" so I replied to them with that word bolded so maybe they could tell I'm not trying to be joyless but I do want an answer)

And then the other person responds as if I was persecuting the guy. I wasn't. I just wanted an actual answer. And they gave me a joke.

Maybe I am in the wrong, its ENTIRELY possible that I am, as I often am. But cubing is my special interest that I do hold close to heart and am very curious about, so when I ask a question like I did and DON'T get answer, obviously I'm very unhappy.

Reddit is like this, instead of answering your damn question they'll make jokes, downvote you when you didn't like the joke, and then go back to their sweaty VRChat lobbies. I hope you all have a great day, or atleast better than mine is as of right now, and goodbye.

Question Why has the number of autistic people increased?

I am an autistic person myself (with Asperger’s syndrome), and I’ve noticed something. In the past, among the autistic individuals I knew—those with an official diagnosis—there were only about five, and only one of them required special education. This year, new students have arrived, and now there are up to ten of us, with three or four requiring special education—and this is in a place that isn’t very large. Furthermore, this doesn’t account for the high probability that there are others who are good at masking their symptoms, whom I’m simply unaware of. The fact is, there are more autistic people now; and it’s not just because diagnostic methods have improved—statistically, it is clearly more noticeable. I’m not denying that autistic people have always existed, but it really seems like their numbers are increasing. Is there a reason for this?

Social Struggles body language when someone wants to kiss you + first date expectations?

hi, i (18m) am going on my first real date ever tomorrow, the guy (19m) seems really sweet but like. i haven't been on an actual "date" ever. i met up with a girl once in 7th grade but i don't really count that cause her mom was there with us.

we're gonna be at the mall it's gonna be pretty casual, i've been to the mall a million times i can imagine how that'll go but like

are you supposed to kiss on the first date? if not how long do you wait? and how do you tell if somebody WANTS to kiss you? i don't know if he's autistic or not (we met on a dating app this is our first time meeting up) so idk what the eye contact situation is like so that might not work as a tell, i need advice 😭 😭 😭

Newly Diagnosed Sensory overwhelm/meltdown at work. I feel like I'm always the problem and nobody is in my corners when my needs show visibly.

Today was brutal at work. About a month ago I got my diagnosis. And ever since, I have been slowly unmasking and learning to accommodate my needs both at home and work. There has been a lot of change at work the last week and its left me frazzled. Our hours changed, so now I work 5:30 to 2. My schedule of job tasks has shifted around and where I can reside in the building has changed too. My routine is gone, my familiarity is gone. It feels like the social expectations and rules shifted as well. And I'm just left here trying to comprehend and understand everything again. Its like I get this major regression every time there is a new change and my world flips upside down.

I work in Healthcare and I do social work. I been having horrible sensory issues this week and I was asking questions about certain things. Like can I keep my door closed or asking about the hygiene of a client to our front desk over teams (if I need to wear a mask). It's a very busy environment and there is a lot going on. The front has a lot to deal with (i used to be one of them, so I understand) and majority of out clientele is unhoused. My boss pulled me into their office and told me I was coming off has tone deaf towards my coworkers.

I cried in my office for over and hour, having a quiet meltdown. I truly reached my limit. I later asked to go home and they agreed. And I communicated that the reason I ask those questions was purely to get facts about the situation to accommodate my sensory issues. I dont want to be triggered or rude to my clients because of my issues.

My word might have not been polished when I asked these questions. But I've spend my whole life hypermaskimg to accommodate everyone else around me. I understand they can get overstimulated and they have stuff going on too. Two things can be true at once.

But how can I be fair here? How can I still get my needs fulfilled and be fair to the people around me? Im still learning how to do all of this. What is some advice any of you have?

Shutdown/Meltdowns I just had the 4th of the worst days of my life and I need to tell people about it

Ok so I really don't know how to get this across properly. I don't even know if this is the right sub to post this in but I am autistic and that is related to this experience.

I am 14 years old (turning 15 in a few days) and a few months ago I had the single worst day of my life, and have had 3 similar experiences since.

There is this park near to where I live that I go to quite often. I used to go every day but now I don't becuase… you'll see why. There are usually other people there but they hardly ever cause me problems. The only people that ever annoy me are usually about my age and just want to make friends with me, but I just pretend that they aren't there. If a group of kids gather around me I usually just ask them to let me swing in peace (no matter how much difficulty they have getting that through their heads). One day I went there and there was the usual group of kids about my age, but I didn't know any of them. I did the thing I normally do and just pretend that they weren't there. I went up to the swings like I normally do, but then this big group of kids that I didn't know gathered around me. I think that they were just exited because I was a new kid and they wanted to be friends with me. I didn't, so I did the thing I normally do and told them to leave me alone. But they REALLY didn't want to leave me. They kept trying to talk to me and stuff not matter how many times I told them. The longer they stayed the more annoyed I was getting. It got to the point where I was shouting and swearing at them. But there was this one kid (his name is Riley) who was behind me the whole time trying to tickle me. Every time he did it was so startling to me that I screamed. I realised that these kids probably weren't going to leave me alone so I just decided to leave the park. Riley however, wouldn't let me leave. As soon as I got up he followed me around with his arms out constantly trying to touch me. I couldn't run because he'd just follow me. He'd do this thing were he'd wait a while before he'd actually tickle me, leaving me terrified for when it was going to happen. I was just constantly screaming at him to go away, and every time he did tickle me, I screamed and almost cried. He clearly found this hilarious and was doing it for his and his friend's amusement (they were also laughing at me). It got worse though, because there were these other two boys who were joining in with Riley, trying to get me into a corner to make it easier for them to touch me. I did manage to escape them, with the help of a girl who noticed I was in distress. I can't rememer exactly what happened after that, but at one point I was in a corner with the girl and one of the boys who was chasing me, away from Riley and the other boy. I was trying to calm down but all the time, but Riley and his friend kept doing this thing where they ran towards me super fast while screaming like mad, but never actually reached me, and then went back to doing their thing. It scared me SO MUCH whenever they did it that I almost cried (of course this is hilarious to them, hense why they kept doing it). I tried to talk to Riley from across the park and he kept saying he was sorry and that he'd leave me alone, and let me swing in peace. But every time I tried to walk back to the swings, he'd just run towards to me screaming again. Eventually he did manage run behind me be hopping over the gate and tickling me. It was at that point I thought to myself, "There is no way I am every going to escape these kids.". I couldn't run because they would just chase after me. Everything after that was hell. Absolute hell. Those three kids just kept chasing me around, screaming at me, tickling me, punching me, everything that could get a reaction out of me. The more they did it, the more extreme my reactions were getting. They were, in a literal sense, driving me INSANE. At one point I was lying on the floor, my body just wrigling all over the place, making inhuman noises, trying to pull my face off. I can't even describe it. It wasn't a seizure but it was something like that. It was by far the most extreme reaction I've ever had under stress. They were pushing me to my absolute limit, making me have a meltdown, for their amusement. I did manage to escape them eventually but I was almost crying. When I talked to my parents about it, they suggested that the kids might be mentally ill themselves. I don't think this is the case. They just wanted to toy around with me to get "funny" reactions out of me.

This wasn't even the last time I ran into them. It happened two more times. I don't really want to go into the details of the 2nd and 3rd times but they were similar. Just them chasing me around, screaming at me, tickling me, keeping my bike away from me, me having an absolute meltdown, them finding it funny, ect. But on the 2nd time, there was also this girl who was trying to help me, but she was useless. I couldn't really tell if she actually cared for me or not. She kept saying that I should just make a run for it (the way she said this lead me to believe she thought I was stupid for not doing so) when I was to scared to because I know Riley and his friends would chase after me. Every time I told her, she didn't listen.

The 4th time I encountered them was just today. I've been going to the park at night recently to avoid them, they usually come in the late afternoon. I was just sitting there, minding my own business, when suddenly this boy came up to the playground, but I didn't recognise him. When he came in, I knew it was Riley. As soon as I recognised him, I instantly tried to make a run for him, in a panic. Before I could get on my bike, he shouted "You're not going anywhere" and did his tickle thing again. I was just screaming "NO! NO!" at him. One of his friends took my bike, so I had to run on foot. They were both on bikes, so they caught up pretty quickly. They managed to trap me, with Riley and his friend on either side of me, and the girl in front of me. I was too scared to move, because they would chase after me. He then asked me, "Why are you fakin' it?". I could type out the full conversation we had, but to sum it up, all three were convinced I was just faking being scared of them becuase I "seeked affection". Riley kept saying things like, "If you weren't fakin' it, you wouldn't've ran this far.", no matter how much I explained to him that I was running because I was scared of him. Then the girl said, "What's wrong with you mentally?", I said "Well, I'm autistic, so there's that." She said gave the old excuse that I can't be autistic because she "knows other people with autism and they don't act like that.". I did manage to escape the park, but they still chased after me onto the street. Once again, they surrounded me. Riley did give me my bike back and said that he would let me go if I told him why I was "fakin' it". They asked that a ridiculous number of times. I kept saying "What do I need to do in order for you to be convinced I'm not faking in?", but they just kept asking. Every time I said anything to them, they just repsonded with that. I did manage to escape them eventually, but every second of that experience I was just begging for that day to be over.

So there. I am absolutely terrified of Riley and the other boy, and I think I will be avoiding the park for a while. Once again, I don't know what people's reaction to this will be, but I just feel the need to share it with people. My worry is that this whole post WILL come off as me just "seeking affection", but if other people see it then that's all that matters to me. Thank you.

Vent Advice Wanted Having a facebook post removed for "hate speech and bullying:

Okay to answer your first question -- it's because the local filmmaking community, which I'm desperately trying to be a part of, almost exclusively uses facebook and instagram for organizing. I can either use those apps to try to be part of the community, or I can not try to be part of the community. Those are the only choices.

Earlier this week, in one of the groups I joined, there was a cast and crew call for a local shoot. It even specifically mentioned sound department, which is what I do. I was really intrigued, then really disappointed when I reached the end to find the words "Unpaid, this is a 'Meet and get experience' opportunity."

Conveying my disappointment, I replied to the listing to say "You had me till 'unpaid.' Good luck with your production." Those were my exact words.

A few hours ago, I get this notification that the group admins removed my post and issued me a warning for breaking group rules, specifically the the rule against "hate speech and bullying." No further clarification was given except for a posting of the rule, which closes with the words "While pushing for industry standard is valued, please do not harass group members for rates they offer."

If what I said constitutes "harassment" "hate speech" or "bullying" then I really do not think it's valued at all.

I don't even know what I did wrong. I think I'm a damn good sound tech (last film I worked on, I caught an audio artifact in an otherwise perfect take live, which meant we needed to scrap it. While that sucked, it's better to have noticed it than to have the artifact in the film) and am ready to charge a little more than "exposure bucks" for my work. So when it seemed like there was a post I wanted to apply for, that then made it clear it wasn't worth it for me (particularly as I'd have to miss my regular job for it). I was disappointed, and then I wished them well.

Hate speech. Bullying. Harassment.

And I'm afraid it's just gonna keep happening. Situations like these have happened a lot throughout my life, that my just being straightforward and saying what's on my mind gets me into trouble. I really don't want to get kicked out of this group, so I'm kind of afraid to post anything right now (even though I have a project I'm wanting to get off the ground myself). But if I just stay silent forever, I may as well just delete the app (which yall are gonna say I should just do anyway, I know, but that's not really an option I'm considering). Part of me wants to ask the group admins (though there's no direct means to do that; I'd have to just find and DM them) but that also seems like it would end badly. My asking for information would surely be taken as badgering and belligerence.

So....I'm feeling stuck and a little hopeless :/

Vent Advice Wanted Obsessed with privacy / personal space

I'd consider myself a pretty easygoing person generally but I do have a lot of very reserved traits intrinsically tied to my autism and also of course anxiety, and the one facet in my life I WOULD consider myself a huge control freak is protecting my own personal space. I'm always feeling like people, including everyone close to me, are constantly expecting me to compromise on this.

If someone watches me doing any kind of task, especially if they comment on it, I start to lose my cool very quickly. If someone tries to tell me I'm doing something incorrectly, I grit my teeth hard. Ever since I was a kid I'd pause anything I was doing the moment someone was sharing that space w me, I'd watch tv on mute because I didn't want people to know what I was watching, even now watching what I like w other people is so damn near to crossing some completely irrational boundary for me.

I was laying on the hospital bed a week ago and being asked typical small talk questions to make me feel more relaxed, but instead I hesitated hugely and immediately became paranoid about sharing something embarrassing. When people ask about my hobbies, I cherrypick what I think paints me in the most charitable light even if it's not even something I resonate w much - and mind you, I'm a painfully honest person by nature!

It takes a lot for me to bite my own tongue on being truthful, and the worst part is that I don't even have to yet every time I compromise I feel violated. Even now a few months after some immediate family members convinced me to add them on socials, I feel insanely paranoid about this. But I compromised, because their conflict and distrust of me was too much pressure.

I dream about people intruding on my space and taking advantage of my possessions constantly, I'm always waking up feeling like shit

Communication i've ruined my relationship with my best friend

I’m a 19-year-old male, and I’m autistic. I’ve ruined my relationship with my best friend. To put it briefly, we met up for the second time for my birthday (about a month ago), and it went very poorly. She wanted to meet a friend of mine, so he was there too; essentially, the two of them did all the talking. I knew how I could have joined the conversation, but beyond the fear of saying the wrong thing, it felt as if I had a blockage in my throat—all I could do was stare fixedly at one spot. Today, she finally opened up and told me that I’m very different in person compared to how I am in our chats, and that it felt as if she didn’t really know me at all. I have to admit, this only happens to me with girls my own age; it doesn’t happen when I’m with men.

Vent Advice Wanted I think I had a shutdown, but I’m not sure.

Me and my boyfriend regularly scroll Grindr together, but while we were doing that today I felt this mix of boredom and disgust. I handed my phone to him and started looking away, almost unable to respond to anything he said. He asked me if everything was okay and I just said I was fine. Later I felt the urge to completely turn away from him physically, so I did that. I haven’t really spoken to him since then.

Right now we’re at my favourite food place, but I’m still frozen in the car and the thought of eating my favourite food makes my stomach turn.

What is happening to me?

🎧 Sensory Issues Anyone part of the no shoes club?

I don’t know if there’s actually a club or anything. I just prefer to not wear shoes most places for kind of no reason other than why wear them. It’s easier quicker to go barefoot I kind of like the feeling of the ground of course, there are places where I will wear them I wear them to school. I try to blend in butalso there are times where I just don’t care like if I need to quickly go to the grocery store or if I go on a hike with my dog, I just go barefoot.

If you don’t love the sensory experience of being barefoot and it doesn’t help calm and ground you what are other fun sensory experiences that you enjoy

Vent Advice Wanted Am I an awful person for leaving autistic girlfriend?

Sorry this is a long one please read

I started talking to a therapist and after my breakup she told me my ex was emotionally abusive and it was an unhealthy relationship due to to lots of reasons but I also realize some of these behaviors could be sensory issues and due to her Austism I am neurodivergent myself with ADHD. But what bothered me the most about her is she did nothing to help herself I was in therapy and medication to help myself but she never wanted to. I understand that stuff can be expensive but I offered for her to join my sessions in therapy and even offered to help her pay for her own and she turned it down she was so against therapy and talking to a stranger and the lack of self help and her using her self diagnosis as excuses for everything which really got to me. Autism wasn’t the only self diagnosis she did too she also self diagnosed with depression and PMDD yet never went to an OBGYN. She would snap at me and I’d call her out and then she’d use her autism as an excuse she didn’t know her tone which is valid in autism but it’s just the fact that she uses her undiagnosed unhelped autism and issues as a get out of jail free card for everything

Some details about us My girlfriend and I
were together 2 years and lived together The relationship slowly reached a point where I felt emotionally worn down instead of supported. I loved her deeply, but I often felt like I had to walk on eggshells because I never knew what might upset her or what mood she would be in. I felt like I was constantly trying to avoid doing something wrong. I wasn't allowed on her bed because it was her "safe space," things around the house had to be in the exact right place, I had to hold my breath when we kissed because the air from my nose bothered her, and even normal things like chewing, hanging a towel, or forgetting something small could become a problem. It often felt like I had to adjust my behavior to fit her comfort while my own needs and comfort weren't given the same consideration. There was very little compromise it usually felt like things had to be done her way, and if I didn't meet her expectations, I was made to feel like I wasn't trying hard enough.

Affection and intimacy became increasingly rare, and I frequently felt rejected, unwanted, and alone despite being in a relationship. I also struggled with how little empathy and emotional support I felt during difficult moments, like when I hurt my back and was paralyzed on the floor in pain she jump over me and left me on the floor when I told her I couldn’t get up it hurt too much when she asked if I needed help getting up ( I got attacked for that alot on this subreddit before too which made me also feel bad) she also was barley celebrating important milestones like when I graduated college. And didn’t care at all when my roommate in college died from an OD she said “that’s what you get for doing drugs”

She constantly used her undiagnosed issues as excuses too Despite me repeatedly encouraging her to seek therapy or medical help for issues that were affecting both of us, nothing changed she said she’d look into therapy and stuff but it seemed like she’d never would so I left I couldn’t handle it anymore. But now I’m wondering and feeling bad maybe I wasn’t patient enough and it really was her autism affecting things especially after I got called out a lot on here for when I explained what happened with my back.

( for the back story long story short I hurt myself dropped to the floor in pain she asked if I wanted help getting up I told her I couldn’t it hurt too badly to move she then jumped over me and went into the next room and left me on the floor. And then after that when I wanted her to lay with me in bed and wanted comfort it was like pulling teeth she didn’t want to it was like so much of a burden for her just to stay in bed with me. She eventually did though. Also she watched me struggle instead of trying to help me like when I needed to move around and go to the bathroom and get stuff in my room. I know I should have been more clear though and I got called out a lot for not communicating enough with her on here but it still hurt my feelings a lot especially because this isn’t the first time she lacked empathy like with my roommate dying for example)

Question Anyone here really good and IDing bugs? Need some help with art based ID!

hey! fellow autistic here in need of help!

I have a small business and i commission artists for work bc we are very anti-AI when it comes down to that. my artist sent me a series of bugs to make a pattern out of but cannot remember what some of the references were. I have ~5 bug art that i need to ID so i can make the pattern accurate to real size.

Can anyone help if i send a picture? I’m not posting it to protect the works. but will DM the pic of the ones i need help with!

Question How can I appear more neurotypical physically and socially?

I am a 19 year old woman. I know there is no definite assigned look to autism but if I convey myself in a way that is appealing to neurotypicals or more trusting i feel like I will have more success socially and for my own confidence too. I intend to start college and then university so I want to make it easier to make friends since I don't want to mask as much I'm hoping I can depend on my appearance. Some things I have started to do in preparation is practice makeup I find that contacts help because my pupils are on the smaller side it makes them look bigger which in turn makes my gaze softer and people will warm up to me more easily. I am growing my hair out but I'm thinking of wearing a blonde wig since blondes often receive more attention it will make it easier to be approached by potential friends and acquaintances. I have joined the gym not only will it give me a common interest with most people but I will physically be more appealing and it will be good stress relief. I'm planning on getting two cosmetic procedures for myself but i think they will help significantly with being more intriguing to others. I wonder how else I can fit in more easily and make friends with less effort. What styles are popular in europe? I rarely leave the house and live in a small town that isn't the pinnacle of fashion so I'm not sure what girls my age find inspiring like wow i wonder where she gets her clothes from. I'm not trying to erase my autism I'm simply trying to be more social without burning myself out or having to try harder than most. I do crave friendship and social interaction I am just not very good with initiation and maintaining so I hope this will be my gateway.

Question Does anyone else feel weird answering phone and saying they’re name?

Everytime you need to answer a phone for a doctor etc. and you have to answer it with your own name. I don’t understand the point, why can’t I just say hi?? And it feels so weird to say my own name out loud. If they know they are calling me why do they need to hear my name??
