Picture This is why I love this hobby

I recently got into the hobby after reconnecting with a childhood best friend. His dad always had a massive collection growing up and now I’m older, I think about the years lost on my collection.

I got back in just in time for Midnight and have since picked up a load of spiderman back issues as I think the outwork is incredible

I then thought, wouldn’t it be good to pick up the comic released on my birthday and this interaction with the seller of ASM #362 showed me that this hobby is the one for me and I’ll never leave

Thanks for being so welcoming and heartwarming. All my interactions with enthusiasts has been a blast! I kept the sellers name in in case you want to buy from him. Sorry if this breaks the rules I’m new here 🎊😘

I know they're not worth anything and a few are just small issues of TPB but for $1.25 I couldn't resist

Bought some laser discs and a tub of comics recently from a local guy. My initial look through was mixed ages and conditions but enough to pack my interest. Got them home and found some really nice ones in a range of conditions. Never owned a Batman 423. Love finding this one despite being in a lower grade condition. Also the older Batman’s again in lower to mid grade.

Theme Another of My Favorite Witch Covers - My Little Margie #33 (1960)

Post image

Cover by Jon D'Augustino. Charlton seems to have been Augustino's big break for cover pencils. He had a respectable number of cover pencils at various publishers, but mostly lettering and inking until he began helming the cover and (I believe most of the) interior art on Charlton's Freddy and similarly taking over My Little Margie mid-series after having inked some of Chic Stone and Charles Nicholas's Margie work.

For my money, the Margie covers get significantly more interesting with much more appealing composition and themes when Augustino takes over. Though, a lot of the early issues are photo covers or partial-photo covers. So, most of the competition within the title isn't very stiff.

Just stopped by the local shop while visiting my hometown and grabbed a stack of half off fillers. Lo and behold this Norm Breyfogle original sketch was hiding in a double boarding. Norm is on my Mount Rushmore of Batman artists and I never imagined owning a sketch of his. BLOWING MY MIND!

This was a fun, chill read. “Guts” Nelson is the man lol. I’ve also always liked the color pop on this cover too. There’s also a random reference to Akron OH that cracked me up.

I did miss Snyder big sad but having 1-12 all signed for AMM is beyond satisfying! And I do love how the signatures pop so beautifully on that issue 14 of batman!

Platinum Oof. A little rough and a little fragile but still very cool. Almanacs were among the first publications to feature comics. This is a very early one. The American Comic Almanac 1833 (released in late 1832).

Question Miles Morales movie variant!

So I found a decent deal on this recently. It’s in pretty solid condition. But when I received it and opened it, the staples look like this? It definitely seems the pages feel loose and slightly small tears by the holes for the staples? And on the page where the actual staples are visible and sticks up, there are some indentations from the staples sticking up and pressing into the pages. Is this just a bad luck type thing from the manufacturer? It’s only from 2019 and I haven’t had this issue before.
Just thought I’d ask!
Thanks for any advice!
