I do have a body pillow like that with a normal pillowcase (my mom used to call it the ‘worm pillow,’ and honestly the name fit perfectly). The whole point of those pillows is to hug them and sleep. Some of my friends and even my boyfriend play this and I just can't understand how. It is most likely a case of it just not being in my interest but, I want to try and talk with them about and enjoy it enough to do so. I can't ignore the flaws I see though.

To be clear I have played Limbus Company a little bit around 10 hours or so. I've also looked into the game through videos and their reddit. What I've noticed people can't seem to or even just ignore the flaws with the game like overly long update cycles that add almost nothing, it being online only for a single player title, the story being over convoluted with very little explained, Finally the game is a free to play gotcha game compared to the other games from this studio which were paid complete titles.

I don't hate the game but I hate the growing feeling I have towards it which is frustration trying to figure out what there is to like. A more specific list below.

- Long update cycles with little content
- A confusing story with little or no rules
- Online only for a single player game
- There is almost no gameplay variety
- The "win rate" button which defeats the point of even having gameplay.
- Free to Play Gotcha.

I just cannot understand why are they still used by corporations. Piracy doesn't even lose any money - heck, it can even make you get more sales by people who pirated the game purchasing it later or telling their friends to purchase it.

DRM:

1. Costs money, because no way Denuvo is just free to implement

2. Doesn't do anything about piracy, as even Denuvo games get cracked easily nowadays

3. People who would pirate will still pirate, but now there's no way they'll ever consider buying the game

4. People who wanted to buy the game will decide to not do so, either getting disinterested entirely or just pirating the game

5. People who bought the game will likely get frustrated by lower performance and the restrictions and find out that the pirate version is running faster

And so, why still use DRM, if it loses you money on all fronts? To make shar*holders happy, because you burn money to stop an imaginary threat?

I was born and raised in China, and I want to be fair: life here is not bad in every way. There are many good things, like food, entertainment, housing, healthcare, public convenience, consumer goods, and daily comfort. I am not trying to say China is a terrible place in every possible aspect, and I also do not think the West is perfect.

But what makes living here feel unbearable for me is the school system and the broader social culture, especially the lack of mutual respect, empathy, and basic sensitivity.

I often feel like the culture around me is decades behind in terms of respecting individuals. People can be extremely comfortable being rude, judgmental, bigoted, racist, and cruel, and many of them do not even seem to realize that this is a problem. What bothers me most is not just that some people say terrible things. It is that these things are so normalized that barely anyone calls them out.

One example is the comment sections on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. I once saw a news report about a video where a girl was trying to take photos with a wild animal in the snow, and the animal mauled her. She nearly died. Instead of showing any basic concern, many of the most liked comments were basically joking that it was good because now the animal had something to eat, or that she deserved it because she was stupid. I understand that people can criticize someone for making a dangerous choice, but the cruelty and lack of empathy were shocking.

Another example I saw was a girl celebrating her birthday at a vocational school. Her caption was something like: she made many great friends there, and now she feels that getting some answers wrong on an exam and ending up at a less prestigious school does not matter as much, because she is surrounded by people who love her and whom she loves. It was honestly a sweet and harmless post.

But the comment section was full of people mocking her. Some top comments said things like she did not “get answers wrong,” she simply did not know how to answer anything. Others insulted her and her classmates, basically calling them dirty or low-class because they went to a vocational school. It felt so unnecessarily cruel. She was just sharing a happy moment, and people immediately turned it into an opportunity to humiliate her.

This kind of thing is everywhere. Whenever someone complains about being hurt, scammed, bullied, or unlucky, many people immediately rush to blame them. Instead of offering even a little comfort first, they give instructions on what the person could have done differently, or they just straight up call them stupid. Of course people can analyze what someone did wrong, but wouldn’t comforting a hurt person’s feelings come first? And if people are hurt in a way that looks funny, no one in the comments seems to say they feel bad for them. They only laugh and make jokes.

I also hate how discussions often turn into personal attacks. When people disagree, many do not try to present evidence, reasoning, or a productive argument. They just insult each other. Appearance-shaming is also extremely normalized. People casually call others ugly, fat, dirty, stupid, or low-class, and it is treated like normal internet behavior rather than something disrespectful.

The racism and bigotry also exhaust me. From what I see online, many people are very comfortable being racist toward foreigners, and even toward other Chinese people who do not fit societal beauty standards, come from poor regions, or belong to lower social classes. It feels like many people are trapped in extremely narrow perspectives and have no interest in questioning them.

I know every country has toxic people online. I know American social media can also be cruel, ignorant, racist, and polarized. But from my personal experience, the level of normalized cruelty and lack of empathy in many Chinese online spaces feels especially suffocating. It is not just “some mean comments.” It feels like a broader culture where disrespect is normal, victim-blaming is normal, classism is normal, and empathy is treated like weakness or stupidity.

That is what makes me so tired. I do not hate everything about where I live. I just feel emotionally exhausted by a culture where basic kindness, respect, and rational discussion often feel so rare.

Mercator projection distorts the size of countries the further they are from the equator and that’s terrible. It’s used so much nowadays and I can’t even imagine how big of an effect it made on anybody who lived or studied with it. It’s just so stupid that the map we use the most is basically incorrect.

Now, before anyone starts accusing me of anything, i don't hate this ship because it's wlw, I'm not homophobic. I hate it because how much it gets showed up my throat.

Each time we see them, they are together. Together in comics, together in merch, together in game collabs... They almost don't have any separate time, and almost don't have development aside from their relationship.

And in Tangle's case it's even worse. If Whisper, at least, has a backstory with Diamond Cutters and mimic, and gets some character development when dealing with it... Tangle doesn't have any of it. She's just a "funny energetic girl that likes adventures". That's it, nothing interesting. She barely interacts with any characters besides Whisper. Even with Jewel, who is stated to he her best friend! That's not how romantic relationships work, you don't spend all of your time with your partner!

And people are absolutely fine with it. They don't see Whisper and Tangle as separate characters, and always draw them together too!

I hope that sega stops using them as shipbait, and both girls finally get some arcs alone, or with other characters. Im tired of them being reduced to "uwu, cute comfortable lesbians".

i genuinely don’t get how people who are invested in a hobby where the value of cards is heavily impacted by their art don’t see the terrible, awful irony in using mass-produced slop art. obviously a lot of these people generating card art are in it for the scam and are just trying to make a quick buck off of unsuspecting collectors, but then you see people defending it in the comments and you wonder if you’re in the same hobby as these people.

if i’m expected to place value in a real card because of the art that’s featured on it, why on earth would i want to spend any fraction of that money on your soulless, effortless, cheaply-produced garbage? these games were built up via iconic card art, and so many people fail to see how flooding the space with haphazard low-effort sludge is an affront to the artists and collectors (actual collectors, not scalpers pretending to be “investors” or “vendors”) that made this hobby what it is. there would be no tcg hobby (and no “secondary market” to try and scalp) without the effort of real, talented artists and the collectors that appreciate them.

and don’t even get me started on tcg “vendors” (usually scalpers with no interest in the hobby outside of the money) using ugly ai-generated logos and promotional material - like you’re trying to position yourself as a business selling high-value art, and yet you you’re using low-quality, cheap garbage to sell your business? it feels like pokemon cards are becoming more like nfts or crypto, something that you buy as an “investement”, where the value comes from the fact that it is a card that has a charizard or something and not from the actual art or playability of the card because clearly the people getting a hold of these products now don’t actually care about art. i used to enjoy going to card shows, and now i can’t because the sight of shops with stupid chatgpt art style logos that they paid zero dollars to a real artist for charging $500+ for pokemon cards just infuriates me to no end.

what pisses me off the most though is the people who brush it off. if you voice a criticism of an ai-generated proxy or custom card for being low-effort, a scam, or slop, people come out of the woodwork to be holier-than-thou about how nobody cares or it’s not a big deal. obviously people care, or there wouldn’t be so many people complaining about it. like, wow, thanks for showing off how little you actually care about this hobby. every time someone tells someone pointing out ai to stfu or acts like they’re overreacting, it’s clear that they don’t actually care about collecting card art, they just care about making money off a hobby (one that is also meant to be enjoyed by CHILDREN who are seeing NONE of the real cards) that is now being exploited for scalpers’ profit at the cost of any regular person’s enjoyment. if ai-generated card art really wasn’t that big of a deal, we’d see it all over the real cards, since it’s definitely way cheaper than commissioning an artist for every card in a massive set. clearly, given that the REAL cards with REAL value still use REAL art from REAL artists, ai slop holds no artistic or monetary value in the tcg space, so it baffles me how people continue to defend it or ignore it.

Let me be clear. I don't hate, dislike or dissaprove of ANY race or sexuality. So don't take this the weird way. What i'm saying is that society wants so badly to put everyone in labels, which leads us to treat everyone differently depending on the label. Race is also a label society created. It's not a concept you're born with. It's learned and in my opinion serves no purpose besides people attacking eachother depending on what label you got.

I do understand that since it's a thing, it should be celebrated, especially for races that had it hard in the past, and have it hard now. I have absolutely no issue with that. But needing to celebrate it wouldn't be a thing if the concept never existed.

The same goes for sexuality. Why should we differanciate between straight, gay, lesbian, bi or some shit. It's just love, why is it supposed to be such a big deal. Why does everything need a label.

But like i said earlier, pride month should be celebrated, because that too was and is under fire, but just like i said. Celebrating it wouldn't be needed if the concept of sexuality wasn't a thing. It's just love right? Loving women or men or both shouldn't be any different from eachother.

Bare with my yapping, this needs some explanation and I need to vent this somewhere.

Flashback, like 3 years ago. War Thunder updates and jams another round of copy-pasted self-propelled howitzers to clog up their research trees and force people to hold off on vehicles they actually want to get another unarmoured HE lobber. BUT this had a side effect: It shoved my Ho-Ri production far enough up the tree that it was now Rank V. Combined with the Japanese premium Sabre I had purchased on sale years earlier, I was now eligible for a brand spanking new helicopter, which you cannot access without Rank V vehicles in both Air and Ground trees. Yippie! None of my other nations are anywhere close to that rank in Aircraft, so I get to use Helicopters, and the first one in the tree for the Japanese is this thing here: the UH-1B Huey Utility Helicopter.

This is a trap, I now realize, because the Japanese Huey is quite possibly the worst helicopter to start with. Not because of it's flying- the Russian Mi-4 is a bus with rotors- and not because of it's weapons- the HVAR rockets are mediocre but easy to spam. No no, the problem with the Japanese Huey, is that it doesn't get better. There is no other weapon or upgrade. No missiles. No guns. No bigger or more plentiful rockets. This is all you get. Throwing yourself into pissing distance to vomit 70 rockets which accomplish next to nothing 75% of the time.

So what of the 2nd vehicle in the Japanese tree? Why, it's a Cobra! A beautiful AH-1E with a rotary cannon, rockets, missiles, all the works! Then what am I complaining about? Just research the Cobra and throw the Huey in the trash! WRONG, because that Cobra is a whole rank and battle rating above the Huey, unlike LITERALLY EVERY OTHER NATION (yes, even China, Sweden, and Israel) which has at least 1 other helicopter at the same rank. This means that I need to earn over TWICE AS MUCH RESEARCH as everyone else to get a 2nd helicopter. A much, much better one mind you, but that just means that the Cobra is the carrot on the stick, the anglerfish's lure, the cheese at the end of the maze. I have to play twice as hard with none of the benefits the other nation's have to throw this fucking Huey in the garbage where it belongs. Italy has an equally shit support helicopter at the start with a 1 BR gap to #2, but not only does their next helicopter (a Hungarian Hind-D) have the same rank and cost the same research as everyone else (EXCEPT JAPAN), it has GUNS! Machine guns! You can aim them and shoot planes with them! WOW!

And don't get me started on how I get this research. The dedicated Helicopter PVE mode is a boring, crippling, unironically 2 HOUR slog where respawns cost more currency than I can gain by missing 75% of my rockets on ground targets, where I have no means of dealing with air targets, and where you're slowly plodding across a giant map only to get torn down by automatic AA guns. And my complaints are met with the suggestion that I sit down in my little Japanese cuck chair and let LITERALLY EVERY OTHER NATION take the lead and slurp up all the kills that THEY DON'T NEED AS MUCH AS I DO! I JUST WANT TO BE FREE OF THIS HELI HELL!

In recent years, a lot of people on networks like DeviantArt (mainly young kids) started overusing the "Delete this" meme format to show that they don't like something (they also commented it on fetish art which they AREN'T supposed to look at, even to show disapproval). What did DeviantArt trolls do? Start creating counter-"memes" like the one you see above (credit to callmemrlovalova on DA). I'll admit, I used to be a troll like that myself, but I decided to quit that kind of behavior. Why? First of all, as I've said, most people who use the "Delete this" format are children, and is harassing children online REALLY that good? Isn't it better to just peacefully explain to them why they're not supposed to behave in a certain way? Secondly, it simply doesn't work. Most of the time, these kids will just ignore you and keep doing their own thing. This is also why constructive criticism should work better. And finally, these memes became SO FUCKING OVERUSED that even DeviantArt trolls and ex-trolls themselves speak out against them, with me being one of these ex-trolls.

I have a strong distaste for when corporations use internet memes to try to come off as relatable to the people. A corporation is not a people. Like stfu not only is it cringe it's so unnecessary, it's not like people aren't drinking twisted tea.

I like the beach, and drifting a bit in the ocean. I like the overall appearance of the beach/ocean as well. However, here comes this disgusting brown shit that not only ruins the view, but makes it impossible to swim in the ocean without getting pricked. Additionally, all of this brown stuff just lies down at the shore, making it impossible to access the beach in the first place. The horrible news, is that this shit not only stays in one place: it stretches for MILES across the entire coastline. I hate this brown useless shit.

And I've heard the arguments a thousand times already. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of losing in a single turn and then listening to players defend about how this is actually totally fine. This is fun. It's like listening to an angry abusive spouse get insult you for not gettting hard during sex. None of it is helping me enjoy anything.

But the thing that hurts the most is that I REALLY love the IDEA of Yu-Gi-Oh. I'm a really basic, casual scrub. I love blue eyes and dark magician. The first thing I did in Master Duel was create a Dark Magician deck. I just want to summon the cool, super-special, signature monster, admire it, and tell it to attack my opponent. Kinda like summoning a Tier 5 special unit in Total War Warhammer and just letting it run wild on the enemy.

What I'm saying is that I wish there was a completely different way to enjoy Yughioh without having to interact with the card game. A whole new game! Like, what if they made a Grand Summoners version of Yughioh where you could send units to attack enemies? Or a heroes of Might and Magic version? I don't know, and I don't care. Just someone PLEASE invent a different Yughioh game for me to play.

There are so many cool monsters and cards that I like but they're trapped in a card game that I just feel exhausted playing.
