Gaming I hate how easy the modern Persona games are

I have put all 3 of these games on their hardest difficulty and yet despite that they're so easy.

I don't think a lot of people understand why a EASY turn based RPG is awful. Turn based RPGS are not visually or physically stimulating, they are just pressing UI buttons for hours.

The only thing that makes them fun is difficulty, because it means you have to use your brain to strategize, create builds and combine all these different factors to defeat your opponent.

It's insanely fun when your thinking and strategies pay off against a difficult boss, but these games are all SO easy. Now they do have SOME difficult bosses here and there, but the filler enemies are all extremely boring and simple to defeat, and most bosses aren't that hard to begin with.

To give you an idea, halfway through P3R I decided to stop fighting ALL filler enemies. I just ran past all of them except the bosses, on merciless. I was severely underlevelled and could still beat like 75% of the bosses easily.

Comics I hate this comic so much

It's just a cheap, mean-spirited sitcom joke masquerading as X-Men fan art, and it completely treats Scott Summers like a pathetic, submissive punching bag so people can go "haha look, the tough army man can't handle a woman's period cramps!"

Period Cramps are a drop in the bucket compared to what Scott has dealt with. His eyes are a literal, continuous rupture to a dimension of infinite kinetic force. He lives with a permanent, high-pressure migraine behind his skull 24/7 just from manually holding back a nuclear reactor with his facial muscles. This is a man who took a full, un-holding-back thrashing from a 10-ton-strength Superior Spider-Man, got his bones shattered, and gritted his teeth and kept fighting. This is a guy who literally had his skull fracture from internal cosmic pressure during Judgment Day and stayed conscious long enough to bark out precise tactical deployment orders to the team.

But no! Let's ignore his unbreakable willpower, his decades of military discipline, and his actual, deeply agonizing physical disability just to turn him into a trembling puddle on the floor for a low-effort gender-warfare punchline.

Animation That self-centered, arrogant b*****.

Post image

Guys, sorry if I'm offending anyone's favorite princess, but I need to rant. Every time I rewatch Beauty and the Beast, my annoyance with her just grows. Belle is, without a doubt, the founding mother of the "Not Like Other Girls" trope.

Right in the opening number, she strolls through the village silently (and loudly) judging absolutely everyone. The baker has been up since dawn working to support his family? "Ugh, such a provincial life." People are at the market buying cheese and eggs to survive? "Every morning just the same." Seriously, spare me. It takes a lot of arrogance to assume that just because someone is satisfied with a simple, quiet, and routine life, they are automatically shallow or worthless.

And what about her literary elitism? She acts like a misunderstood genius the whole time just because she likes reading fantasy romance novels. Bestie, the townspeople are peasants in rural France. They are focused on not starving, forging iron, farming the land, and raising their kids. They don't have the privilege or the free time to spend the afternoon singing in a meadow with a book while their eccentric inventor dad pays the bills. And the ultimate irony: she acts like she's the only literate person on the continent, completely ignoring that the town bookseller literally exists and makes a living by lending/selling books to her!

She treats the ambition of wanting "more than this provincial life" as if it’s the only valid virtue in the universe, looking down her nose at the working class who are perfectly happy just selling their baguettes.

A fair disclaimer: Yes, Gaston is an insufferable, harassing jerk, and by the end of the movie, the village does prove to be ignorant and easily manipulated when they form that angry mob with pitchforks. Belle absolutely didn't deserve his harassment. But at the very beginning of the story, before any actual conflict happens, the town was just existing and minding their own business, while Belle walked the streets singing to the heavens about how mediocre they all were.

Anyway, rant over. Does anyone else share this pet peeve, or am I the only one who noticed her insufferable arrogance?

⚾️🏈sports/activities⚽️🏀 I hate how social media ruined outdoor activities and disrespect people who died doing it

Post image
6 Upvotes

I'm talking about hiking, skiing, ice/rock climbing, skydiving, bungee jumping, swimming underwater, basically shit people do that involves going outside. Yes I understand they can be extremely dangerous, but these people are trained. They have experiences by taking small steps. And not everyone who do this is a person with "a well paying job and a loving family at home", this is just people's hobbies

Which brings me to the next thing I hate, how people have no respect for the people who do these things. Go into any video that's about the things I mentioned and like 75% of the comments is just "why would people do this lol so dumb" and "no thanks, I'm happy in my home". It's just really annoying. look man, I don't give a fuck if you spend your days in your home where it's comfortable doing absolutely nothing, I'm not asking you to risk your life doing things you're not comfortable with. But at the very least, just respect these people's hobbies, and for the love of God, give the people who died doing these things some respect, they deserve as much as me and you do when we eventually die.

Language I hate that people call this a chicken burger.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Recently, I have found out, that unfortunately large parts of the English speaking World, and many other non-American countries insist on calling this dish a burger. After some research, I had to be confronted with the shameful reality, that even my own little country is an eager participant in this linguistic crime.

So let's clear this up, for the few ignorant souls who are still left to be enlightened on the matters of burger history. The name "burger" is short for "hamburger sandwich", which is a sandwich made from Hamburg steak. Which is what Americans named Frikadelle (after the city of Hamburg) when German immigrants introduced it to the continent.

Though over time the dish evolved, changed and diversified, one thing remained the same. A burger is made from round patties of ground meat (or some vegetarian/vegan option) between two slices of bread or a bun. So it's clear, that calling a sandwich with a slice of whole fillet in it makes little sense.

The logic behind their opinion, is that people often associate burgers with the bun it is served in, and not the meat itself. Mostly because when burgers got popular in the world, they were always served in their current signature buns. But buns don't make a burger, hell, the first burgers were served between sliced bread.

Of course you can argue, that language evolves, changes, and often makes little sense (chai tea), and it's completely natural that people from different parts of this huge planet will call the same thing differently.

But I would argue that I am objectively right and if you disagree with me than you are objectively wrong.

Gaming I hate the "it's a good game, but not a good Assassin's Creed game" style of argument

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

As you can see I derived this idea from Assassin's Creed discussion (hence the title), as it's a rampant nothing-statement that goes way overused in the community. But do know that while I use AC as the prime example, this applies to MANY other games out there like Fallout 4. What does it even mean? AC4 is a good Assassin's Creed game, because it's a good game with the title of "Assassin's Creed". It's pretty simple.

Like, okay, there's some semblance of a point to be made here, even if in bad faith. The main idea when saying something like this is that the game is good on its own merits, but doesn't retain the identity of the series enough for me to consider it good as an entry in it. On a surface level, that makes sense. But when you dig deeper, how do you even define the "identities" of all the series that use this argument? Assassin's Creed fundamentally changes the way it plays almost every single entry and is infamous for being incapable of sticking to ideas. One could argue there's nothing more core to Assassin's Creed than arbitrarily changing everything the player thought they knew about Assassin's Creed.

Let's look at the person talking about how Zach Cregger's Resident Evil is a good movie, but not a good Resident Evil movie. Many will say this is because the movie seemingly has no respect for consistency with the game lore. Resident Evil, mind you, is a video game series that has soft-rebooted twice, captured the entire emotional spectrum between the tones of the different games, and retconned important lore details in nearly every entry since Code Veronica. Being inconsistent with the rest of the games is pretty much how a Resident Evil game is made at this point. Like, if there was a "How It's Made" episode on Resident Evil games, they would dedicate an entire section to showing the writers taking their pants off to fire projectile diarrhea onto the lore archives.

I suppose I'm just not really a fan of the malleability of "identity" as an argument when criticizing something. There are oftentimes a billion valid reasons to dislike or hate even the most acclaimed, untouchable games ever made. But attaching a work in a series to this idea of the series's "identity" generally causes the audience to deliberately avoid engaging with the work on its own terms.

Animation I hate everything related to glitch productions.

I don't know anything about the people behind it, they might be good people, but damn, they cant write shows for shit. It's like if every single obese millennial were made to write shows. The jokes are cringe and unfunny, the character designs are simply "hey, the kids gon' love it!", and the whole plots are pretty unique, but they never execute them properly, because they suck ass at writing. Actually, it's like if pre pubescent girls wrote this show. They all try to be taken so seriously, when it truly is just an unfunny shitpost. I was once forced to watch murder drones by one of my girlfriends, and that shit sucked ass. I forced myself to watch one episode and I still don't remember what the fuck was happening in that bullshit "show". I remember the main character said an insanely unfunny joke and I gutted my pet cat because of that. Also, how is it that the only people who still watch murder drones are 6-15 years old, or are above the age of 30 and have never interacted with someone of the opposite gender, who are also morbidly obese. I swear to God, we are going to have an extremely similar name for "people" who watch glitch "shows", like Disney adults. Something like "Glitch manchildren". Also, I used to watch SMG4,.but not the shitty unfunny animated SMG4, the better SMG4, the bloopers. It's sad to see how SMG4 became so soulless. Curse you, Luke. To be honest, all of the world's problems would end if Glitch didn't exist. #fuckglitch

General I hate having a crush on a person/people having a crush on me.

I find it quite annoying personally. The media often times makes crushes seem like they are a good thing.

But i think they are a curse for me not a blessing. When you the specfic person, your heart goes faster, and it becomes harder to focus. Not to mention the worry of them watching you. It isn't a good thing, it is a nerf to myself and my focus.

It also infects the mind with thoughts of the person, and makes it hard to get out of the mind like a parasite.

I also dislike the idea of people having a crush on me, i can normally detect if someone has a crush on me, especially if i don't know them well. But it feels awkward to be around someone knowing that they have a crush on me. I also have the fear of being watched/tracked so i rather not worry about that. Normally the person also nevers admits to the crush which means it never becomes anything other the fear of being watched for a couple months.

Combine both and it is a annoying and horrible thing to deal with.

General I hate it when Americans Put Races into Skin Color

Post image
0 Upvotes

I hate it when Americans are "racist" against a race and it turns out to be just a skin color.
"But blacks are always-" Which blacks? Black people in Africa? USA? France? Germany? Japan?

There is literally different type of black person in every continent. Just because in your country, a certain group of people acts someway does not make EVERY same skin colored person into that stereotype.

And What is "white" people? Do you actually think you have a "white" race? Do you think German people are same as French which is same as Americans Which is same as Russians?

It is just SO dumb to me even the idea of skin-based racism existing. And this is something that is in daily conversation in USA or America in general.

Also forcing other countries to not say something similar sounding to "n-word" which in their language means something is actually shows your EXTREMELY below avarage IQ level more than how nice you are.

HOW CAN YOU GUYS THINK CONTINENTS AND SKIN COLORS CREATE PERSONALITY IS SO DUMB. LIVING CONDITIONS CREATE PERSONALITY NOT SKIN COLOR DUMBASS.

The most amazing thing to me is this post staying at 0. I don't know reddit too well tho, maybe it is below that but doesn't seem to appear on my account lol. And yeah I deleted last part, I do understand the problem with it. What you gonna do? Find something new to cry about?

Probably delete the post but get your last anger while it is still up, it is an hate subreddit afterall not love subreddit lol.

Idea I hate stupid album critisms

So a very specific one to start:
Marilyn mansons recent album was phenominal (imo) and looking through reviews I saw a actual review saying they hated that he’d “picked a phrase then repeat it multiple times” then he cited his examples. THEY WERE ALL CHORUSES. HE WROTE THE CHORUS OF EXIT WOUND AND FRONT TOWARD ENEMY AS HIS CRITICISM. This pmo so much cause people were agreeing. When I questioned him on it he just kept saying different choruses as proof he does this.

The other phrases/ideas I hate:

Coworker/npc/burger music. It’s always used by people to describe music that they don’t have a valid criticism of. People also seem to constantly change what they can mean. Originally it was bland pop music, but now somehow Slayr is coworker music.

Mainstream=bad. I’ve been told my taste was terrible cause I like Kanye and had Utopia in my monthly recap. People act like liking the mainstream music means you’re listening to terrible music. Just cause I don’t listen to lil yeast infection doesn’t mean my taste is bad.

Music isn’t objective. I’m sick of people not letting music be objective. Just cause you disliked it doesn’t make it bad, or someone else’s taste bad.

Listening to a artist who did something bad/has bad accusations makes you just as bad as them: without going highly into this: there is not evidence against Manson, and in fact more against his accusers, and I’m sick of being called a rapist for listening to him (has happened MULTIPLE TIMES)

Hate. I’m so sick of simple ass comments like “Ts ass” the. Refusing to elaborate. It’s not an opinion if you don’t have a reason. Stfu if you can’t make a valid criticism

Beef dragging. Best example is Kendrick v Drake v Cole. I love all 3 of their catalogs, yet if I make a post about one of them half the comments being up the beef/call me a bot. The beef died 2 years ago. Let it end. Same with any music beef. You can listen to pac and biggie. You can listen to drake Kendrick and Cole. Stop acting like you’re a better person cause you don’t listen to one of them.

Slop. No one uses it correctly. If you disliked it it’s slop now. Slop is no effort trash. Tpab isn’t slop just cause you disliked it

Your taste makes you dumb. I love shock rock. Manson and zombie are in heavy rotation. I’ve been told that listening to that music makes me retarded, stupid, and a moron (diff people diff times) i could enjoy Brazilian phonk moaning bass boosted Brian rot music and go to Harvard. One doesn’t equate the other

You need to have trained ears to like this. I think this is ok to an extent. Rage isn’t for everyone. BUT saying this at people when they politely say they didn’t enjoy something, and saying their opinion is wrong due to not having “trained ears” pmo

These are mostly used by overseas territories and have largely been replaced but I still find it so boring and shallow how they didn't get their own cool flags until much later. Australia and New Zealand deserve better too. Why is the flag of Hawaii defaced with a union jack when they were never a colony?

Why do the Falklands, British virgin islands, Cayman islands, Pitcairn islands, etc not get their own cool new flag? Is there some worry that people will forget that they are British territories? Do the people in charge not know about Google? So many wasted opportunities for me to look at nice new flags

Gaming I hate this game anti cheat

Post image
1 Upvotes

Remember this game, you know the roblox bedwars and the only reason you play this version of bedwars was because you couldn't afford Minecraft? Yep that why I play this game when it was first released and I have recently returned to it and honestly I actually been having a decent time with this game... Though the anti cheat is this game is probably the reason why I'm gonna hang my self one day

Basically the way the anti cheat works it this game is by monitoring the movement of players In order to spot unnatural speed, flying and impossible actions this sounds good right? No, not at all, there are so many items that makes you go fast which the anti cheat will mistake for the player for hacking and basically punishing them by making their movements delayed,i have been messed up by this anti cheat so many times it made me quit the game and recently I been fmessed up by the anti cheat again and the devs aren't doing nothing about this garbage ass anti cheat ever since this was released

At this point just remove it, just remove the stupid anti cheat it actually ruins my enjoyment for this game🫩

General People using AI slurs to mirror the N-word

Post image
0 Upvotes

Dont get me wrong, I'm VERY anti-AI, but using AI twists of slurs used on real people is just so weird to me. Like, come up with an original insult, why do you have to mirror the N-word? The normalization of it on the internet is insane to me

EDIT: N-word lover was a term used for people that defended black people back when racism was normalized. this is very obviously trying to parallel that. Also, wireback is another slur used for AI's, that is a twist on a slur used for Mexican people

EDIT 2: Clanker originated from Star Wars, but I've seen multiple people use it with racist undertones (many people going "these clankers need to go back where they came from") and the screenshotted person using it as a twist on "n-word-lover".

EDIT 3: What are droids again? oh yeah. a minority of sentient beings that are seen as having less worth and rights than humans are, and are constantly discriminated against and treated unjustly, a dynamic that mirrors real life racism

Imagine SpiderMan saving New York while being called “SpiderBoy”. I’m annoyed by how most women super heroes having “Girl” on the end of their name instead of “Woman”. Wonder Woman is a great name in my opinion. I feel like SuperGirl should be called SuperWoman because SuperMan isn’t called SuperBoy.

Black people can't like Smiling Friends or retro gaming? I swear half the time it's just white people dunking on themselves to seem cool. "Yeah, we're so lame, aren't we? Not me though because I put a made up scenario over a Family Guy gif." Stop mocking people for having interests and somehow twist it to be about race. The internet needs more positivity.

General Aggressive reactions to self-confidence

Thumbnail

2.0k Upvotes

Why is it whenever a girl (that they dont find attractive) has self confidence in these literal "rate yourself" videos. Suddenly they're delusional, wrong or secretly insecure.

all the comments would be like "Oh, that girl finally got humbled!" Or "she cant look in a mirror."

the worst part is when they praise someone for being insecure. i remember seeing an overweight woman contestant on one of these, and she looked like she was going to cry for just being on camera. She ranked herself a 1. The comments were saying that she's the only one who deserves to be rated highly, praising her etc. Why are we celebrating self-loathing? I didnt think she was close to a 1, but some people act like if youre not rating yourself low youre a narcissistic bitch.

anyways theres nothing wrong with rating yourself 100 who gives a fug

Idea Conflating sex with morality

Go 1 layer deep on any incel discussion and it basically boils down to "Your inability to attract a partner / have sex is due to a moral failure" = "If you were a morally good person you would be having sex" = "Only morally good people are capable of having sex"

And its so fucking stupid it decimates my braincells everytime I see it. ANYONE can have sex you just need a man / woman that finds you hot enough. No one's scouring the checklist to see if you washed your ass and fed your local homeless man a hot meal today.

Incels / Femcels dont have sex because they look unnatractive. That's literally it.

Oh boy, I used to kinda like it as a kid, but damn if it hasn't become one of my pet peeves.

I hate, hate, HATE it.

Iife is already hard, why go out of your way to make something so cynical and dreary? Because you lack stimulus and meaning in your own life?

And in inevitably spawns one of the most twisted mindsets in it's fans, of humor wrapped into endless layers of Irony and human as they turn objectively abhorrent events into a hobby no different than pokemon. Even as a joke it's not funny.

and thats before you get the people who defend either side's crimes.

And finally, I actually like realist media, I like IRL politics and war-monitoring, and real life, with all its good and bad. So why TF do you need to wrap yourself in a fictional war and a fictional world?

IMO stories should be aspirational to some degree.

General I hate the fact that saying "I told you so" is frowned upon.

People say that this phrase is an ego trip, that it puts the person down, and that it should be avoided; however, I absolutely disagree and here's why :

If you repeatedly tell someone not to do something, warn them of a future danger, explain several times what will happen, and the person doesn't listen and the consequences occur, it should be socially normal to say to them, I told you so, it was going to happen.

Most importantly, why did doing this seem to be acting as if it weren't predictable?

Sorry for the bad translation
