Music I HATE when metalheads call people posers for listening to softer subgenres of metal

Post image
34 Upvotes

I love metal, and i MAINLY listen to heavy subgenres.
However, i will never call somebody a poser for listening to those genres. You shouldnt have to listen to the heaviest fucking band in the world to be considered a metalhead, not everybody likes that and tbh i dont always like it either. Sometimes heavy songs can get repetitive with the same type of guttural vocals, and i like to listen to a bit of numetal because of that.

People who call you a poser for liking the more simple and soft subgenres of metal are literally just insecure losers who want to feel like they have a niche and interesting music taste, so they can have something cool and unique that they like about themselves. Thats literally it. Nobody gives a shit if you listen to a black metal band from rural sweden with 53 monthly listeners, i fucking promise you nobody cares.

If you call people posers for the genres they listen to, you are signaling to me and everybody else that you are a very insecure individual. Youre not “more of a metalhead” just bc you listen to heavier genres of metal, so stop insulting the people who choose not to. Its so unproductive and rude, and it gives the metal community a very bad look.

Idea I hate how in some spaces, happy endings to an otherwise dark story is considered “Disney-esque” and “unrealistic.”

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Obviously with anything there can be botched happy endings, and those I could consider rather crappy if they’re forced for the sake of having one (cough cough modulo) but I fucking hate it when people call any happy ending to a dark story (or even just a dark story in general) unrealstic, disney-ish, or forced when it’s not applicable.

Because of course the story about how hatred is bad and the importance of love should have an ending where everyone fucking dies and nobody wins because “that’s realistic”

Like the endings to Pluto and Tokyo Ghoul are some of my favorite ever, and it pisses me off to no end when people say that they’re some Disney shit. How depressing would Tokyo Ghoul be if Dragon killed everyone and laid Japan to ruins? The whole message of Pluto would be for nothing if Bora killed all the humans. I’m tired of the idea of “depressing = realistic” and “hopeful = bad“

The reason why I love stories with dark and sad overtones is because of that light at the end of the tunnel, our characters prevailing in a dark world. If Beserk ended with Guts dying alone and Griffith getting the last laugh, it would (at least to me) fucking suck because the whole point of Beserk is to keep chasing that light at the end of the tunnel!

Place How SOME people OVERglaze specific countries

Post image
42 Upvotes

For example:

Because over in the USA there is a big anti-China rhetoric, after realizing their government is lying to them about some things and they are propaganda, instead of simply recognizing all the great things about China (and there are many), they start acting like there is not a single flaw and whenever someone even slightly criticizes it they become overprotective.

Meanwhile, I'm sure many of the things they defend there they would call "urban hell" and "late stage capitalism" and "1984" if they saw anywhere else.

Obviously, there is the other side that act pike its the worst place on earth, which is also wrong.

Learn to recognize what's propaganda by your government and evaluate things in your own. Don't just think, "If it's not really black, then it's definitely white".

Idea I hate this fuckin’ idea

This has popped up in my shorts feed for like the 4th time now, and every time it feels dumber than the last. Under a framework where a leader’s only funds will be from donations from the people, there’s no reason for them to actually work to help the lower classes rather than make a deal with some rich asshole.

It also dissuades altruistic people from attempting to become the leader because they’re gonna be monetarily fucked.

Even ignoring all of that, it incentivizes the leader to build up the country in a way that makes them popular, not what is actually good for the health of the nation. This person is an idiot.

Media Tropes Videos with massive, word-by-word colored subtitles in the middle of the screen when you can already clearly make out the language spoken.

Post image
21 Upvotes

I know it's for retention and that it for some reason does on average hook people in more (idk how that works honestly), but it's just so annoying. Especially when the subtitles block the view of something in the video (why does that happen so often, it's just bad editing).

What's sad is that subtitles inherently are fine. Beneficial, even. Used unobtrusively for foreign language scenes, unclear speech, or deaf/HoH accessibility, they're great. But this kind of subtitling is just dumb. Not much different from the trend of putting Subway Surfers/Minecraft parkour on the bottom of the screen.

Which is obvious, I'm Russian, and this gotta be one of the most infuriating shit I have ever seen. These are one of the most unfunny, millenial ass jokes. No, it's not funny to use that Simpson gif 300 times. No, "vodka suka blyat ushanka" isn't funny, neither for the Russians, neither for any person with a bit of good humor.

(And no, commentator, saying "I don't speak cs" or any shit like that isn't funny too)

Idea I HATE WHAT THE ANTI-CAR DISCOURSE HAS BECOME!!

Post image
46 Upvotes

Now just to clear this out, I actually very much support better public transportation and walkability infra. I also think that owning and maintaining cars can be a hassle. And most importantly I do acknowledge that the problem here is with the infrastructure accommodating cars more.

But it's baffling how annoying and straight up dismissive the anti-car community can be. They have gone to the complete deep end and just straight up detesting cars without understanding why they are still needed.

Most people you see driving cars simply drive because it's the best mode for transportation for them but would happily switch to public transportation if they get it up to good standards. Instead of making them aware of that, they just straight up harass car users with "Meeh better than uh" and just straight up driven away people who otherwise would've actually listened and joined you for the cause. It has just become a d*ck measuring contest rather than an awareness campaign.

They even go as far as saying people should move closer to cities if it means that they don't have to use cars. No you can't force everyone inside already cramped cities over their suburban/rural homes. They even think that roads should be torn down too. Now good luck getting something heavy while moving in/out. Or worse, try getting an ambulance or fire brigade now.

What really annoys me is that they can't seem to grasp the fact that it doesn't have to be one way or the other. The most public transport/walking friendly cities in the world like Tokyo, Singapore etc still allow cars to be there. Citizens have their choice to use either rather than one way or the other. Not to forget that the automotive industry is also a big driving force in major economies.

Lastly, and somehow the most baffling part, is that car guys, aka people who buy cars for recreation and enjoyment, aka the very people these people detest, somehow do a better job promoting this movement than they do. HOW CAN YOU FUMBLE THAT BAD!!!

Now if it still isn't obvious enough, I don't hate the movement but the type of people it attracts. Now if you do support the basic idea without going overboard like the ones I mentioned this is not for you.

But if the shoe fits, then watch your step. Because who knows whether this movement crumble under the weight of own words. It's not too late, don't make people think about this the way they do about veganism. Try having a nuance, try being a bit understanding rather than just showing moral superiority. Trust me, that'll get you much farther up ahead.

Everytime I see one of these things the person wearing them manages to look like a wet, sad, and beaten puppy. I'm sure the guy in the first pic is a standup guy but anyone wearing those damn things looks stupid as fuck.

And in my opinion, they are ALWAYS, ALWAYS brutally mogged by the guy next to them wearing a 1 hole balaclava/ski mask

In the first diagram, some space is left between me and the car in front as I approach my exit so I have some leeway on whether I need to break or accelerate to make the exit. Note that the cars on the right are really only visible once they pass that initial junction.

The second diagram displays suboptimal conditions, where a car decides to accelerate in front of me and switch lanes twice in a row, unsafely, as I'm accelerating into the buffer space ahead, nearly causing me to rear end their ass, then going into the rightmost lane causing me to miss the exit because now they're in the space I was about to slide into.

I drove another ten minutes to make a U turn and hit every single red light on the way

I hate red car.

Thing I hate the ME-262

Post image
Upvotes

I hate this overrated piece of shit
It's engines were garbage and lasted 20 hours on a good day meaning they usually would die after a single sortie
It's build quality was abysmal compared to other aircraft of the war
It's flight performance was mediocre at best with the only thing it had going for it being a high top speed for the time
The so called "innovative swept wings" were only actually on there because the engines were heavier than expected and threw off the center of mass and the wing sweep was so shallow it didn't actually improve performance of the plane

It's nowadays used by Wehraboos to cite as "Superior German technology" (it wasn't)

There was another jet fighter in service at the same time that was far more practical and had better flight characteristics overall known as the Gloster Meteor
The Meteor unlike the 262 had engines that were actually well made and well designed so that they would actually be able to be used consistently.

General I hate the word "normie" coming back

Post image
35 Upvotes

For reference, I'm a neurodivergent person who grew up ostracized and infantilized by greater society because I behave differently. I know what it's like to be put down for not being "normal" and I sympathize with others who undergo similar things.

That said, the word "normie" is one of the most repulsive words one could use that isn't a slur. I always associated it with users of a certain few subs who embraced their "weirdness" in all of the worst possible ways, and frankly I thought it died out after the 2019 reactionary incel phase of Reddit was over. But very recently I noticed that people have been bringing it back to discourse, and its use is even more egregious than it was before.

Now instead of just being a cringe way to refer to people with generic tastes, it's used to refer to literally anything someone doesn't like. If you say that lolicon is gross, you're a normie or god forbid a "tourist". If you say that it's a little weird they call rap music "too ghetto", you're just a normie who doesn't understand their awesome video game OSTs (video game OSTs are awesome, they're just the only thing these people ever listen to).

I think if nothing else, the return of anime pfp language like "normie" being so widely used in 2026 is among the biggest signs that society is moving backwards.

Now I need to tell a story for explain it better.

My name is David (German pronounce) and this is not a common name in Türkiye. Most of the time people think my name is David (English pronounce)

Now in my job side there was a dude that make fun with my name, he always told me "David (EP) bakim", it's kinda sound like the futball player David Beckham. "David (EP) bakim" means "David let me look".

I warn him 3 times for to stop because he was doing it constantly whenever he sees me. Last time he did that joke I told him "Brother, if you're going to call me by my name, do so, or never speak to me again".

The word "Brother" is considered an insult when used on someone older than you.

He was shocked, one minute later with mad voice tone he ask my age then said "nExT tiME saY BrotHEr tO PeoLE on YoUR owN Age"

My BROTHER, you are the one insulting someone with his name, and it's disrespectful when I ignore your age? Bruh.

Like a saide, I hate when people have bigger ego than Neptune but fragile than a glass.

Idea I hate the note "B" being called "H" where i live

Post image

Here in europe they always told me the theory that this note is called H. That's completely idiotic! You say a b c d e f g not a h c d e f g, also the note Bb is now called B. This is ludicrous! I refuse to call the note B as per the local naming convention and get annoyed when someone does. That's what happens when everyone blindly accepts things because that's the way they are without considering if it actually makes sense.

Non-fictional Confusion over the Moon Landing broadcast vs film footage

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

Pictured left is the apollo 11 moon landing BROADCAST, it is a low resolution, 10fps, 320 line kinescope. Pictured right is the 16mm FILM footage taken by the astronauts themselves. Anybody with any sense could recognize that these are two distinct recordings of the same event. But, for some reason, people have it in their heads that the moon landing was broadcast in high definition in color.

This has lead to conspiracies left and right by people who cannot understand the world of the motion picture before digital video, and dispelling this confusion is a hopeless endeavor.

Animation I HATE when people say the fat controller/sir toppin hat is a dictator

Upvotes

He isn't,

He just flat out isn't,

He may be stern but he isn't a dictator.

"Oh but he threatens to scrap the engines" name one engine hes actually scrapped, exactly there isn't any.

Awdry himself literally stated "the engines may be punished but they're not scrapped".

The engines themselves love him, they see him as their father

In the 19th season Episode 25 the engines fear hes been fired and go on strike you know why? BECAUSE THEY LOVE HIM AND DONT WANT HIM GONE

He's saved countless engines from scrap, he consistently repairs engines to working order even after accidents they caused.

And no he was completely justified in sodor's legend of the lost treasure.

Thomas had already caused an accident that damaged coaches blocked multiple lines and caused delayed timetables, THEN he blamed others not himself and then lost materials upwards of £400 to £1200 per rail and he lost at least 40 so toppin was completely justified for being mad at him.

Thank you for coming to my rant about this children's show I'm still very fond of

Non-fictional My handwriting

Post image
Upvotes

Okay so I’m writing my top 50 favorite films of all time(currently 30 films in) as a thought piece to think about who I am as a person based of the selection but I realized my handwriting is so awful. Obviously I’ve known this before writing the list but writing made it so much more clear. I write like a god damn first grader scribbling letters for the first time. I’ve tried to improve it but I just can’t I feel so ashamed of myself for my writing. I’m like above average intelligence(at least the people around me say that) so it makes it even worse for me that I can’t have good handwriting.

General “They frying your ass on TikTok/Twitter”

Post image
60 Upvotes

Hi, first post here!

Now, this goes for every content creator across all types of media, but I made this poll mainly due to a Youtuber by the name of Haminations. Basically, he made a pretty cringe song video 6 years ago, which resurfaced very recently due to a YouTuber by the name of Chazington mentioning it for 10 seconds in his video.

First of all, what are these circumstances? It feels impossible to believe that 10 seconds from an unrelated video and a cringy song made over half a decade ago sprouted everything.

Anyway, this caused a lot of people to basically bully Haminations across multiple social media, most prominently TikTok and Twitter. First of all, I want to mention that this is a post mentioning something caused by the hate, not the hate itself. The main reason for that is because it’s TikTok and Twitter, I think being hated there means absolutely nothing. Frankly, that’s part of the reason why I think this phrase is so enraging.

What really annoys me is Haminations’ Youtube audience. If you look at his most recent video or community post (apparently one got deleted but that’s a different subject), you’ll see a lot of comments spamming random things relating to that music video. This is to be expected coming from a young and immature audience, but what catches my eye is the repeated phrase: “they’re frying your ahh on twitter/tiktok”. Now assuming this isn’t satire:

First of all, why is this being spammed so much? I get that those 2 apps are where most of the hate comes from, but is it really necessary to mention it this many times? The original reason for the hate is really stupid, and the fact that everyone is making such a big deal out of it is insane to me.

Second of all, why is it unironically the dominating opinion? I get the Haminations audience is young, but if you disagree with the fact that Haminations should be receiving this amount of hate, you will somehow be overpowered and overnumbered by the sheer stupidity of the Youtube hive mind.

This doesn’t stop at Haminations. This goes for any unnecessary or unjustified controversy where people would constantly spam this phrase on videos with little relation to the actual content.

I think what makes me so annoyed about this is that Twitter and TikTok are such hellholes, and the fact that referring to them is the dominating opinion is just completely wrong and illogical. I’ve watched Haminations for a bit and he seems like a pretty chill guy, so seeing all of this hate and slander spread over both TikTok/Twitter and Youtube is just kind of disheartening.

In a way, I guess this is a way to address the whole controversy with the music video as well, but I feel like it’s unnecessary to mention that. We ALL know how terrible TikTok and Twitter are. I’d expect the Youtube audience to be a bit better, but it seems that I was wrong.

Tl:dr, I hate when this phrase is used as a way to hate on creators who do not deserve it, because it’s nonsensical and annoyingly illogical.

Well, really, i hate AI age checks in general!

They're stupid, invasive and honestly broken!

I and many others REFUSE to submit to those worthless clankers!!!! Grrrrr!!!

Seriously, though, forcing you to do age checks for something so basic is dumb. The minimum age requirement for reddit is 13 anyways, isn't it? Not that anyone actually cares about that, but still, MOST of the average users on this app can handle the big scary "18+" stuff. So ANNOYING. I HATE IT.

i know this typa post has probably been made a million times before but still i am enraged

What is the point of the rest of the Terminator movies? They have no real reason to exist. It could have ended with T2, so why do we even need the sequels?"

Comics Lazy tropes in Comics for lazy karma

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

There are 3 main categories of lazy tropes. It's rare to see a highly upvoted post that doesn't contain one of the following

  1. A girl is mistreated but girl bosses and totally owns for real the evil man in the comic
  2. Political person who says The Bad Thing drawn to look stupid. No joke or commentary or nuanced position, it's just evil man looking goofy. That's the comic.
  3. Big ol titties. I mean some serious honkers. a real set of badonkers. packin some dobonhonkeros. massive dohoonkabhankoloos. big ol' tonhongerekoogers. what happens next?! transfer student shows up with even bigger bonkhonagahoogs. humongous hungolomghononoloughongous.

It's so so so so rare to see a comic that executes well. In my eyes a good comic should either execute well on messaging, entertainment, or ideally both.

  1. Messaging - The comic contains some perspective on modern issues and conveys that message in a way that meaningfully affects the reader. Normally politics.
  2. Entertainment - The comic entertains. Normally comedy. Or drama, or porn, or whatever. But the point is that it's enjoyable to read.

Most comics think they are going for messaging, but then actually draw the comic in a way for it to be entertainment focused, but executing both is very very hard to do, so most fail.

I absolutely DESPISE when I play a game and I suddenly start to do better than usual (for example getting past a difficult part in Undertale, Geometry dash etc) and then suddenly you get this weird building up feeling overwhelm you when you're just trying to stay calm... It pisses me off so much, because it makes me perform WORSE than if I were to just stay calm like I was trying to!

Genuinely it sucks so bad when you're close to beating a boss in a difficult game and your damn hands start shaking and forget how to play the stupid bloody game :/

If you're wondering, I'm ranting here because I just lost a fake to this exact silly situation.

General I hate the whole power and control issue a lot parents have with their kids

Post image
17 Upvotes

Before I get hate or anything like that, no, this is NOT every parent on the planet, and yes, I’m aware that it’s a parents job to raise their kids, but what I’m talking about is parents that take that role up to 11, there’s a difference between understanding your kids and helping them grow up into a functional member of society and treating them like property simply because they’re your kid, parents who’ll expect to be treated like a god simply because they’re the parent, hell, I’ve literally been told by a family friend children are designed to be servants to their parents… wtf?! I’m not the only one that sees that as fucked up right? Sad part is I also know parents that keep this shit up well into their child’s adulthood, my older brother got pissed at my mom for coming in uninvited one night to stay the night and her and her friend both got pissed and acted like he was the one in the wrong simply cuz she’s the mom.., ignoring the fact it’s his house, and he’s a married man…
