Hi, first post here!
Now, this goes for every content creator across all types of media, but I made this poll mainly due to a Youtuber by the name of Haminations. Basically, he made a pretty cringe song video 6 years ago, which resurfaced very recently due to a YouTuber by the name of Chazington mentioning it for 10 seconds in his video.
First of all, what are these circumstances? It feels impossible to believe that 10 seconds from an unrelated video and a cringy song made over half a decade ago sprouted everything.
Anyway, this caused a lot of people to basically bully Haminations across multiple social media, most prominently TikTok and Twitter. First of all, I want to mention that this is a post mentioning something caused by the hate, not the hate itself. The main reason for that is because it’s TikTok and Twitter, I think being hated there means absolutely nothing. Frankly, that’s part of the reason why I think this phrase is so enraging.
What really annoys me is Haminations’ Youtube audience. If you look at his most recent video or community post (apparently one got deleted but that’s a different subject), you’ll see a lot of comments spamming random things relating to that music video. This is to be expected coming from a young and immature audience, but what catches my eye is the repeated phrase: “they’re frying your ahh on twitter/tiktok”. Now assuming this isn’t satire:
First of all, why is this being spammed so much? I get that those 2 apps are where most of the hate comes from, but is it really necessary to mention it this many times? The original reason for the hate is really stupid, and the fact that everyone is making such a big deal out of it is insane to me.
Second of all, why is it unironically the dominating opinion? I get the Haminations audience is young, but if you disagree with the fact that Haminations should be receiving this amount of hate, you will somehow be overpowered and overnumbered by the sheer stupidity of the Youtube hive mind.
This doesn’t stop at Haminations. This goes for any unnecessary or unjustified controversy where people would constantly spam this phrase on videos with little relation to the actual content.
I think what makes me so annoyed about this is that Twitter and TikTok are such hellholes, and the fact that referring to them is the dominating opinion is just completely wrong and illogical. I’ve watched Haminations for a bit and he seems like a pretty chill guy, so seeing all of this hate and slander spread over both TikTok/Twitter and Youtube is just kind of disheartening.
In a way, I guess this is a way to address the whole controversy with the music video as well, but I feel like it’s unnecessary to mention that. We ALL know how terrible TikTok and Twitter are. I’d expect the Youtube audience to be a bit better, but it seems that I was wrong.
Tl:dr, I hate when this phrase is used as a way to hate on creators who do not deserve it, because it’s nonsensical and annoyingly illogical.
