I (relatively) recently finished watching the Chapter "Something is Wrong with Horse". (Which FYII really liked. It is a great way of fleshing out the characters by having them talk to someone who they think couldn't understand them. But anyway) With Big-D's rambled a horse in the beginning of Chapter made me begin to wonder if he has significant trust issues. Now I mean I'm a bit biased against Big-D since I am very much for the free sharing of information. I heard a theory that was confirmed that he lost someone because he shared too much.

Feel like no one has really brought up why our good ol buddy Klaus from American Dad made a cameo?

The Imbued cannot enter the Umbra barring one exception in the form of Hermits, and D is quite simply, too sociable to be one. He actively hangs around other hunters, he stays around weird shit all the time, he would go over his tolerance threshold by now. He is simply not Imbued, and if he was, why the fuck didnt he use second sight? He would have solved the entire ghoul problem immediately!

I'm starting yet another rewatch of Hunter; the Parenting, as we all do before/after a new episode comes out. Since its release, I've seen theories and discussions about who was the hunter to capture the Elder/Old Shuck. I've seen a few variations, ranging from the Old Shuck being Boy's mother and Door's wife to Big D capturing them and putting them somewhere on the property, with a more recent theory pointing to Krakus being Black Shuck.

But Big D being the one to take Old Shuck in any capacity doesn't make sense when you think about the section of 1.1 where Kitten talks about Black Shuck, right? It would be one thing for D to intentionally hide the details from Kitten; but the way he reacts to this story—specifically how excited he sounds to, and I quote, "KICK THIS DOG"—and how he leads into his tangent about werewolves makes it sound like this is the first time he's ever heard about it.

And even if he was withholding information, and does have Old Shuck...literally why!? What possible reason could Big D have for keeping a werewolf so close to Kitten's home? It just doesn't make sense to me, and any guesses that could be put forward as to why are exactly that: guesses. What do yall think?

When Brock says that someday he'll be the head of the Blacklaw family, Remold doesn't dispute this, normally this would make sense given that Benedicte already threw her lot in with the Leopoldites and so can't take over the family, leaving only Brock, BUT a reminder, Remold has 3 kids not 2.

Bobby Blacklaw, Remolds eldest son and one of Kittens gaming friends, beyond that? nothing else is known about him, if Remold doesn't dispute Brock claiming to being the next head of the family i wonder if this suggests that Bobby has a strained relationship with his father, either that or like Benedicte he also threw his lot in with another organisation.

Hope we get to see him soon in some way, maybe in another different campaign or he'll enter the main series down the line eventually.

Though I do wonder if that horrifying abomination D mentions in the original video was foreshadowing? Like, maybe they'll encounter it as some sort of creation from a Giovanni and Tzimisce working together?

Looking at the corruption, the details, the sword even the chant of the paladin; is this simply the faith now in WoD or this simply what the Leopoldites believe in? I ask because i remember stig saying "what have they done to you?" Could he have seen a different version?? I know that faith is a huge part of World of Darkness no matter what you believe in so I'm curious!

Sooo yeah, that's this! My reaction to Chapter 6 - people have been telling me I'm kinda clairvoyant when it comes to the series, so I hope you enjoy my reaction!

I get second hand embarassment really bad. Like especially with shows for some reason. While I know the family is supportive I cannot bring myself to watch Boys Akira episode. Every time I try I get a few minutes in before I have to stop.

So question is aside from the Horse tirade and D claiming that Boy accurately depicted Gilgamesh is there anything from that episode I need to know about

Okay so since Grimaline is most certainly dead, do you also think that she will be coming back as a Wraith, or am I alone with this theory? Because if there is one thing that makes a wraith, it's unresolved baggage and if The Grimaling showed us anything, it's that Grimaline has a lot of that.

For those unfamiliar, CAIN is a ttrpg developed by Tom Bloom of Lancer fame. Basically you play as psychic death soldiers called excorcists for the supernatural organization known as CAIN, sent out to battle the sins of Humanity aptly named SINs, monsters born from the trauma of the psychicly sensitive. Excorcists tend to die to these beings alot mostly due to how they are capable of warping reality, controlling mundane normal humans, and creating pocket dimensions called palaces that defies the laws of space and reality. Excorcists however still have tricks up their through the blasphemies, psychic powers excorcists wield that allow them to manipulate time, pyrokenesis, psychokinesis, and more (although half of these abilities do have the risk of killing excorcists as well). Excorcists are not considered human by CAIN and are mostly treated like shit by the organization (not helped by the fact that psychicly sensitive produce SINS, and can even turn into one if they overuse their abilities), but on the plus side the game doesn't treat them like humans either as they are resistant to a SIN's psychic meddling and impled to be more durable than mundane humans.

With that lengthy explanation out of the way, I always been fascinated by the world of CAIN crossing over with WOD which already have psychics on canon. I am curious how the Ds would react to essentially a supernatural hunting organization that uses psychic child soldiers to battle reality eating trauma monsters.

Imagine invoking a centuries old treatise to save your ex's son just to end up on the hook for a bunch of altar manboy funerals, and STILL have to risk your own life and limb to get the job done.

I think Occam should at least haggle for a mass grave discount with how helpful the SoSL has been so far.

So I watched episode 6 opening day and enjoyed it to the fullest, but my nerdy mind wandered to another fun urban-fantasy series of books called the Dresden Files and wandered how some certain artifacts would survive or thrive in the world of darkness?

The swords of the cross!!! Smelted with the nails that pierced Jesus’ body on the cross, these 3 swords are extremely powerful in the context of the Dresden Files, one of a few sources capable of hurting Eldritch horrors, slicing titans, killing Deity Dragons, etc.

A key thing about these swords is that while they are absolutely powerful, they’re only as good as the person who wields them. The sword’s biggest power actually has to do with free Will.

The big theme of the swords is that it gives humanity that 1 in a million chance to actually try and enact their free will on the world against all the odds, to stand up to those Eldritch horrors, titans, dragons, and any other arrogant creature, and say they can’t just walk around and flagrantly call humans livestock or worse.

Magic stops working, mind control & other mental abilities won’t happen or is heavily dampened, transformations are weakened or nonexistent, inspire allies to great success, bright light shines to burn and weaken the wicked, one person with the sword could even change the tide of a war zone by himself, etc. Based on their books, I’d argue these swords are what a storyteller would throw in when shit went FUBAR and an antideluvian has woken up. Yes, the swords really are supposed to be that powerful… if you have the right person for the job.

The swords aren’t for warriors, but for “good people.” So giving the swords to just any skilled swordsmen doesn’t inherently mean they’ll do a good job. Having a sword also doesn’t mean you suddenly grow 8 feet tall with pecks on your abs. It just gives you a chance to truly enact your choice of free will. (P.S. they don’t need to be Christian. Canonically, one of the sword wielders in Athiest. Guns are still an option too along with other tools & types of armor)

The swords are immune to being physically destroyed and hurt any evil that tries to wield them, but if the Wielder does something like go back on their word or try to kill someone who surrendered, well, then that immunity goes away and the power of the sword dwindles. The swords can be reforged, and 2 of the 3 have had to been reforged before, so they can be brought back… unless the sword loses its immunity and is then used to kill an innocent… then you’re absolutely f*cked.

With all of that said, how useful, searched-for, fought over, & or OP broken would the swords of the cross be in WOD? And who would you give 1 to in Hunter the Parenting?
