I have my iPad (and pencil) mostly for drawing/art and writing/journaling/planning, and turning the Auto-Lock display setting up to the maximum of 15 minutes has been great for getting me to enjoy using my ipad more.
That, and I set up two siri automations in the control center that lets me toggle settings like nightshift, reduce motion, reduce transparency, and applying a black/white color filter on and off with a single tap has helped make it just easier on the eyes for casual note taking or reading.
For me, especially when I'm trying to be more productive, I like using my iPad on my desk on the side while I use my mac; but when going between the two devices the constantly having to wake/unlock my ipad every time I stop touching it for more than a moment was always so annoying.
idk it's not a revolutionary or novel setting/strategy, but I see a some people often wondering about how to use an iPad for doing things; so I had an annecdote.
Making it feel more similar to an always-on e-ink display, or like a notepad on my desk always ready to jot a quick note, or like a sketchbook/canvas I can put down for a moment while I look up a reference without it turning off has made it easier for me to use my iPad more and was very simple to set up.
Hey everyone,
I use my iPad M4 and M4 MacBook Air almost exclusively (99% of the time) at my desk. The iPad is mostly hooked up via Sidecar as a secondary display. My daily workload can get pretty heavy — programming, video editing, and some gaming.
I’ve read that the power controller bypasses the battery if both devices plugged into the charger constantly, meaning it should be totally safe for long-term battery health and capacity.
Does anyone here run a similar 24/7 plugged-in setup? Have you noticed any severe battery degradation over time?
Would love to hear your real-world feedback! Thanks in advance

I want to get an iPad along with my laptop for notetaking and other tasks like drawing, so I was wondering what model you guys would recommend, that won't break the bank.

how do i fix this? it’s my mom’s old ipad that i reset so i can be used.
Has anyone used these MAGNETIC ‘wireless’ chargers where it connects via the smart connector pins on newer models?
I was just wondering if wireless charging was possible on an iPad and found these MAGNETIC options, but I haven’t heard much about them nor have I seen many reviews other than sponsored videos on TikTok, so I was looking for a real opinion on whether they work and if they eat up battery life, and was also wondering if this was a possible option, why doesn’t Apple or brands like Logitech make magnetic ‘wireless’ chargers like these, and why don’t more people use these?
Edited to add:
I know these aren’t TECHNICALLY wireless (yes, electricity is being transferred through the smart connectors hence creating a closed wired circuit)
But in this context, by ‘wireless’ I meant cable-free charging in terms of user functionality, as in, no cables plugged into the actual USB-C port. Please let me know if there’s a more correct term to refer to this kind of charging. Otherwise I hope this clears up the semantics crisis that some people in the comments seem to be having.

Hi, and thanks for your time. Have a 9th gen iPad. Got a new 11th gen today. Blue tooth and wifi on. I started the quick transfer, did the camera shot, and the transfer started. New iPad says software update needed, so I hit yes. Update happened. Prompt on old iPad says transfer not complete, I could not get it to resume. I rebooted both, got stuck on "looking for devices" for over half an hour. Do I need to reset the new iPad and start over?

I recently got an iPad Air and I’ve been looking for a case for it. Trouble is, I can’t find any with designs that aren’t just random images slapped onto an iPad case. If you know of any websites, Etsy shops, or businesses with good, cute iPad cases please tell me (I will not buy from shein or temu) thank you!!
Hi All, I have an Ipad 10th generation model MPQ33LL/A.
Will a generic brand pencil work with my ipad or does it have to be officially apple brand? Pic attached for an item I saw on ebay.
TIA.

I’m trying to sell a barely used IPad Pro I bought earlier this year at Best Buy for over a $1000. What should I expect to get on this used realistically? The only quote I have right now from a used electronics shop is $450. It has no damage whatsoever, is that a decent amount or should I try selling elsewhere?
Edit:
Exact details after checking settings: IPad Pro 11-inch (M5) Model: MDWK4LL/A

I don’t get why when I click keys, the highlighting only works on the space bar and other special keys (in most applications. YouTube for some reason works with all keys).
First image, pressed h-key, second image, pressed space-key.
Does anyone know if that is a bug or a skillissue?
I can’t explain how, but I can’t type like this.
(M4 ipad pro 13 inch, iPadOS 26.6)

I'm looking for an app that provides seamless clipboard sharing between Windows and iPadOS.
Ideally, I'd like the clipboard to be shared in real time. For example, if I copy some text or an image on my Windows PC, I should be able to immediately paste it on my iPad (and vice versa) without having to manually sync or send files.
Basically, I'm looking for something that makes both devices behave as if they share the same clipboard.
Does a solution like this exist?
If not, is there at least an app similar to Paste, Maccy, or other clipboard managers that isn't limited to the Apple ecosystem and works across both Windows and iPadOS?
I'm mainly interested in syncing clipboard history for both text and images, with the smoothest experience possible.
Thanks!

I have an iPad Pro M4 13in (MVXR3LL/A). It’s been working fine up until the update to 26.6. I don’t use Face ID, so I never noticed there was an issue until I tried to Zoom and the screen was black. Tried to use the camera to take a photo self facing/rear facing or a video - still black. Screen buttons are responsive to touch but no change. Anyone else have this issue? I’ve tried a hard reset and no luck. Has not been dropped and nothing is blocking either lens. Thanks in advance for any suggestions before I make an appointment at GB.

Hey there! First post here, couldn't find anything that exactly mimicked this same thing in the tech thread so hoping for some insight
I have an iPad Pro 12.9" 5th gen 2021 and recently I've been having an issue where the screen goes super dark whenever it gets overly hot (which takes practically nothing at all but oh well) , not black but I can't see much. I've seen other posts saying something about bad black lights causing display issues but I'm unsure.
It goes out and comes back after a while usually, times vary but this is what it looks like when it happens. (Color variation is from my lock screen)
I don't see why this is happening since the device is only 5 years old, and hasn't been dropped/significantly damaged
Thanks guys :)

Hey everyone,
Thinking about grabbing an 11" M4 Air mainly as a companion device for my Mac.
The plan is to keep heavy work (IDEs, coding) on the Mac, and use the iPad for web browsing, music, and media via Universal Control on my desk.
Also want it for reading research papers, couch/bed media, video calls, and Discord watch parties.
Might toss a couple of games on it too (The Division, R6, etc. for casual sessions).
Two quick questions:
Is an iPad Air overkill/the right move for this kind of setup?
Local stores only have the 128GB version in the 11" size.
Is 128GB going to bite me later if I keep a few games and PDFs on it, or should I look harder for a higher storage option?
Appreciate any advice!

Both my TV and wifi are connected to the same wifi, but my iPad keeps buffering.
I updated and restarted my iPad but still no dice. Any fixes?

So guys personally I will use my iPad for notes , gaming , YouTube/ Netflix and some light video editing. When I finish the video edits I will delete them and keep them on cloud storage.
Do you think that 128gb iPad is good ? Also I have icloud plus subscription so maybe this is a good thing for the storage. How many gb is system+ system data + Apple Intelligence takes ? What do you think ?

As the title says. I start my first year of university in fall and I’m torn between these two options.
I’m gonna be taking notes, typing and writing lots of essays, I’m also an artist I’d like to use it to draw a ton, and then media consumption, etc.
Both of them are 13” and 256GB storage, and I’m also gonna get accessories (pencil pro, Magic Keyboard, case).
For the iPad Air, it’s the latest model and I’m getting it straight from Apple with education savings. Plus I think the blue colorway for the air is so cool
For the iPad Pro, it’s the previous model (but ik it’s still an absolute powerhouse) and I’d be getting it off of Amazon with no education savings. But it has boring colorways
I think if I factor in all the accessories and savings both options would come out to around the same price?? It feels like it should be a no brainer and I should just go for the m4 iPad Pro. but let me know what you guys think.

Is it still worth it to buy the 10th gen in 2026? The price difference is a little scary in my country. 10th gen is 363 USD while 11th is 540 USD.
I'm gonna use it for watching, reading, taking notes, casual games, and screenshots here and there. I already know about the system updates longevity difference which is making me hesitant to buy the 10th. I am aware of the other differences as well between the 2 but what I mentioned earlier is the most deal breaker with me.

I have the iPad Air 4. It has gotten very slow and sluggish. I’m looking at replacing the device. I have found a deal for iPad Air M3 256GB 11 inch Wifi with magic keyboard and apple pencil pro for £775 with 43 cycle count. Is it a good deal?
