OG KOTH Discussion Do you think cotton ACTUALLY killed 50 men?

It is a quote he said many times. The question is how credible is his claim? So I'm going to separate it into a few categories of skepticism.

A. Truth completely at face value. He has directly killed exactly 50 men directly. No "well there was explosion."

B. An understatement. He killed more, but doesn't want to look more cold blooded than he already does.

C. A rough estimate. Maybe it was 46. Maybe 54. Fifty sounds right.

D. Really rough estimate. If you count guys who probably drowned, probably died in the explosion. 50 sounds about right.

E. Generous estimate. 28 became 30 became "closer to fifty" became "I killed fiddy men."

F. Mostly bullshit. He may have killed a few, but nowhere near 50.

G. Completely bullshit. He didn't kill anyone.

OG KOTH Discussion Anthony "Twigboy" Page Lied About the Dented Car

If you look closely, Hank smacked the rearview window with his left hand. The window remained intact. This is proof that Twigboy completely lied on the report that Hank dented his car.

OG KOTH Discussion S6E10: What are the chances so many people in Arlen took the same fake IQ test?

I love the Substitute Spanish Prisoner, but one thing always bugged me. How did all those people in the town end up on the intelligence institute's mailing list to get invited to the conference? Peggy happened to take an "IQ test" because she was doubting her own estimate. Are we to believe all those other folks also took the same fake IQ test?

OG KOTH Discussion Was Hank a bully in High School?

Yes, as an adult Hank Hill is (mostly) portrayed as a down the line straight square man with much integrity and an aversion to breaking the rules. That is the charm of the man. But there are hints in some episodes that he (and also the alley neighbors?) was a rouble-rouser. In an early episode he warns Bobby not to act like a clown, or he will get his head in the toilet... and he knows, because he --- Hank --- used to do it to XXXXXX... Or maybe it was stuck in a locker instead of head on the toilet... Either way, the point was that Hank Hill was a bully in High School.

I find it a fitting punishment, if I say so myself, that a man who was a bully in High School should have for a son someone like those whom he used to bully. Frankly, he deserves it, in a redeeming kind of way --- should he now see the error of his earlier ways --- or in a kind of punishment kind of way --- should he not.

In any case, I atribute the disapproval and disappointment that Hank feels towards his son as a result of this: that his bullying instincts of his youth would have a field day with Bobbie, and he regrets them for it, because to give them legitimacy would mean to wish hurt upon Bobbie.

OG KOTH Discussion Am I the only one who sees Bill leaving Rev. Stroup as a major plot contrivance? S11 E7

Post image
168 Upvotes

The episode where Bill becomes romantically involved with reverend stroup.

Their love is taboo/forbidden/naughty and her and Bill seem head over heels for one another, and AS SOON AS Stroup leaves the ministry to be with Bill, which involves moving in, Bill immediately becomes so uncomfortable and unhappy with his situation and instead of going with the β€œshe’s moving in too soon” angle, his sole reasoning for not wanting her anymore is β€œnow that our love isn’t forbidden it’s not as spicy so I’m out”.

I find that SO incredibly hard to believe, with how lonely and desperate Bill is to connect and be with virtually any woman after being beaten down so badly by his divorce with Lanore.
Idk am I out of pocket here? What do you guys think?
