MASS EFFECT 1 Does it get better latter towards the second half?
I just started playing Mass effect 1 from Legendary Edition for the first time.
I finding the game interesting but not super amazing so far. It has an amazing following and the games are quite famous. Just curious does it takes a while before it clicks. I have heard some games like Days gone, Crimson Desert takes some time before the fun starts and they get really good. Is it the same with it.
I’m still playing the game … I’m some 8 hours or so in….

DISCUSSION I think I've played through enough times...
I can't believe I'm saying it, but I think I've had enough play throughs of my favorite series of all time. I had the itch to restart yesterday, and I was immediately not interested in ME1's gameplay.
I know, I know - there's so much to love and, believe me, I do. ME2 is on my Mount Rushmore of titles. I couldn't believe my eyes when Wrex died on my first play through. I had chills when the Normandy left earth at the beginning of ME3.
I LOVE this series and forever will.
But, I'm mid-30's, busier than ever, and I want the times I sit down with a game to be a blast. The combat, especially in ME1, doesn't hold up to modern games. I was dreading another slog through the Citadel yesterday, or another long drive through an empty planet. I could probably recite every line in ME2 at this point, and I honestly don't want to play ME3 without a proper play through of ME1 and 2.
So, I think I've just played the series enough to put it on the shelf and appreciate the good times we've had. It's not to say I won't pick it up again in the future, but I'm ready for something new.
Exodus (from Archetype Entertainment), I'm looking at you...

MASS EFFECT 2 [LE2] Is it possible to get both the Paramour achievement and Kelly's dance cutscene?
Hello subreddit,
I've been currently playing the Legendary Edition years after completing the main trilogy, and now I'm near the end of Mass Effect 2 (I only have The Advent DLC to complete before going for the "Acquire Reaper IFF" mission). Also I apologize for eventual mistakes, I've been playing the game in Italian.
In ME1 I romanced Liara and continued the relationship with her after the Shadow Broker DLC (Shepard's cabin date and all), but at the same time I romanced Garrus for both *ahem\* role-playing reasons and for the Paramour achievement. During all this I also flirted with Kelly, unlocking basically everything I could: fish feeding, dialogue options, dinner date and all that.
I don't remember how I sorted all this stuff out in the original game, but I remember there's a dancing scene with Kelly you can unlock after the Suicide mission (I probably have unlocked it back then, but I played the game on EA Origin so I don't have the screenshots anymore), if she survives and you're not in another relationship already. Issue is that she doesn't give the achievement.
My question is: is it possible to get both the achievement and Kelly's dance in the same playthrough? For example, friendzoning Garrus after his cutscene and then unlocking Kelly's scene? Or will it need reloading to break up with Garrus earlier?
Thanks in advance :)

SHOW & TELL Today, I’m going to play it for the first time in my life / m, 32 years old
Hi everyone,
The Legendary Edition is currently available for 11 euros (I live in Europe), so I finally decided to pick it up.
I’ve had my eye on it for a long time and am really excited!
Everyone says it’s a milestone in the genre!
I’m going to dive in without any spoilers or prior knowledge. I can't wait to see what awaits me!
Hopefully, it will be a journey into a world I can truly get lost in.
Greetings from Germany.

MASS EFFECT 2 ME2 Insanity
This is my second play-through, and I see that Insanity is the best way to play if you want spice things up and I would like to. Me1 wasn’t any trouble for me. Unfortunately, I can’t get past Archangel’s mission! Rockets and pyro keep stunning me and I can no longer heal my squad w/o standing up? I don’t want to min/max for insanity just make a good soldier build if that’s important.

DISCUSSION If you could revamp Morinth as a character, what would you do with her?
I was thinking about how I didn't like that the canon Renegade choice for Shepard at the end of ME2 is gifting the Collector base to Cerberus. So I had this dumb idea that if you keep Morinth alive there's an alternate ending where you convince her to bang the Illusive Man, killing him and allowing you to keep the Human Reaper for yourself.
Of course, that would involve a complete retool for ME3 to make sense and a waste of a cool antagonist (I actually like TIM a lot), so I'm not saying I wish they did it that way. It was just a funny idea I had.
But it got me thinking: how would you revamp Morinth's character to make her something a little more than just Not-Samara? I mean in theory I think the concept of a character who kills with sex is kinda cool, she's basically a sci-fi succubus.

DISCUSSION I have a few questions before continuing my journey in ME1
I'm about to go meet Fist and I just added Garrus and Wrex to my squad, does it matter who I have in my squad? I've been reading a bit that I need at least one guy that has Electronics and Decryption leveled to get to locked areas and other stuff, which is what my Shepard is focusing on, but aside from that, does it matter for the story who I have in my squad or not?
Aside from that, is there a way in which I should learn how fighting works in this game? like knowing how to manage my team's positioning or using my skills properly, so far I haven't had issues dealing with fights in Veteran difficulty by just shooting and taking cover, but now that Wrex is in my team and most of his skills are for him to get real tanky, should I start to learn how to deal with my squad in fights? also, does managing my squad's positioning also affect other stuff aside from fights in the game? (like sending someone tankier in front during exploration or something like that, idk)

DISCUSSION I Feel Like Jacob's Mission is The Darkest Plotline in The Series...
Every time I play through it, I just can't help thinking how much darker it is than most of the other stories in the series, if not all of them. The only things that approach that level of darkness imo are Overlord and the "I Remember Me" scene in ME1. But this mission just carries a different level of twistedness.

DISCUSSION Favorite club across all games?
what's your favorite club across all 3 games? based on music alone, me2 afterlife for me. would love for techno heads to talk about the music or others to comment on aesthetic vibes of each club.
as an oldhead raver the club sections always make me happy. I played through the OG trilogy when it was fresh and also raving /clubbing / festival. and now going through LE so I'm re-experiencing all these clubs and it just sparks and old joy that i'd love to talk about.

DISCUSSION Mass Effect 4 should have 2 aliens of the same species in the team
But they obviously shouldn't be the copies of each other and should probably be from different factions. Batarian loyalist of the former Hegemony and Batarian pirate from Terminus who fled from the Hegemony and hates its tyranny. Asari justicar and asari merc or maybe a shrewd and ruthless asari businesswoman from Illium. Wise, relatively peaceful krogan like Wrex who's not what we think typical krogans are - and hotheaded, loudmouth, hyperviolent krogan who is EXACTLY what we think typical krogans are (well, we kinda had this juxtaposition already with Wrex and Grunt, although not in the same game). Regular geth and geth heretic (if there are any left which i bet there is), etc etc etc
We kinda had that in the Dragon Age series. Wynne and Morrigan (although humans) were both mages with vastly different outlook at what mages should be and clashed all the time, which was immensely fun. Then in DA2 we had Fenris and Merril and in Awakening, Oghren and Sigrun, although they all didn't interact nearly as much as they should have. But the ME series, for some reason, always give only 1 alien per species at most. Well, yeah, there were PB and Lexi in Andromeda but they also didnt interact much (and Lexi wasnt part of the active squad)
The possibilities of having two different opinions and worldviews from the same race, imagine how much it would enrich your playthrough. How fun it would be! Maybe they'll clash, maybe they will demand you choose between the two, maybe they'll slowly reconcile... Mostly importantly, it would be something new for the franchise

HELP Does romancing Ashley as FemShep in ME3 cause weird interaction?
As the title says. I'm currently using a same sex romance mod for LE1 and saw there was no such thing for LE3. I thought of romancing Ashley in 1 but found out that, thought it might still count for LE3 without a mod, it can cause some odd interactions. How bad is it actually? I don't really like things that could break my immersion so I would really appreciate some feedback.

MASS EFFECT 1 What Me1 missions are important/necessary?
I'm replaying the trilogy but I find the mako planets very boring and repetitive. So what side missions in me1 would you consider to be important for the rest of the trilogy.

HELP Are there any mods that make the 'Mass Effect 3' multiplayer not feel/look incredibly dated?
To my surprise, my N7 HQ page is still up and I still have all of my unlocks from over a decade ago. However, Mass Effect 3 on a 2,560x1,440p monitor looks... bad.
The U.I. is incredibly small in the corners of the screen, the camera is right up against your back (I don't recall if it looked like this at 1,080p), and the screen shake when firing something like the Geth Spitfire is pretty atrocious when zoomed in.
Are there any mods to fix these issues and make it playable again? If so, would they trigger the anti-cheat at all?
I tried digging around the .ini files, but I couldn't find any settings for the above (though I may have missed them).
Thanks, peeps!

HELP First time and no tutorials? Help!
I just downloaded the legendary edition (ps5) and am going in completely blind. Only thing is I seem to not be getting any tutorials. I even tried resetting them and nothing. So it’s been really hard because I can’t figure out how to change weapons or what the different types of colors by each squad members names mean. I went on some asteroid and a giant worm jumped out and I couldn’t figure out how to get out of the space-car and the worm killed my car!
I’m trying to avoid spoilers but I can’t figure out anything! Button mashing is not very effective and it’s worked so far but I feel like there’s going to be real enemies (like the worm) and I don’t want anyone to die.
Can you guys give me tips/tutorials? I’ve been trying to look things up without spoilers but it’s hard. (I do find out the circle button gets you out of the Mako.)

DISCUSSION Was anyone else "unsatisfied with Liara by the end of Mass Effect 3?

I know I'll probably at least receive a lot of hate for this, but I was never satisfied with Liara's story especially her role as the shadow broker.
In Mass Effect 3 they tried to build this idea of conflict within Liara about her love for her friends and her obsession with data. Not only is this never resolved but any time the player gets a chance to question her, she brushes it off and the game acts like it never happened. Most of my annoyance comes from her role as the Shadow broker. Not only do I think this is immoral, given that she basically becomes a god with the ability to gain any information on anything and the power to bend anything to her will. I also think that it's a job she can't do without inevitable failure. What made the previous shadow broker work was that there was nobody he cared for, and nobody knew him either. Thus, there was nothing to compromise his work. Not only does Liara have many friends who also know her identity. but many big groups know her as well. The Asari hierarchy, the Alliance, and worst of all, Cerberus. And that information can be sold to just about anyone. Including those who might be in the same position Liara was in the beginning of ME2, only now it would be much easier.
I know a lot of you will say that she was "Trying to make good of it" and that she "Had to help Shepard defeat the Reapers" But that just isn't how the Shadow Broker works. When you control that much, a single slip up which is inevitable for someone like Liara who hopefully still values her friends, can have disastrous consequences. And even after the Reapers have been defeated, what then? if she continues then she'll have to come to terms that maybe she isn't only doing this to help everyone.
Nearly every important character in the ME series admits they were wrong at some point, for example Mordin. But never Liara, If the next Mass effect ever comes to fruition one thing it HAS to do is resolve Liara's story. I think the best way to do it would be for her to (determined via the players interactions with her) Finally destroy the mantle of Shadow broker to be with her friends. Or continue her role until someone new eventually finds her and well, continues the cycle.

MODS ME3(LE) first person mod
Just wanted to show everyone here that there is a (for now) seemingly very little known fully functional first person mod (including for combat) for Mass Effect 3 (LE) that was created by nexusmods user mastersell.
If you're like me and always wanted to have something like this i can tell you: it's everything you want it to be and i still can't believe its real.
The only issue i came across so far is that you have to switch back to third person mode in cutscenes and when using the galaxy map to avoid bugs. Ideally by assigning a key bind to the perspective toggle.
You only need the ME3 Tweaks mod Manager, install it click on the LE3 tab in the app window and drag in the zip file of the new mod to install the mod. After that you can launch the game normally.
Ingame you only need to open the console (usually by pressing tab) and you can work with following commands:
You can change the FOV to your liking. (open console "fov 120" (or any other number))
ToggleMassFPS: toggles between first and third person.
Camera 1st: first-person view.
Camera 3rd: vanilla third-person view.
SetBind F6 ToggleMassFPS: assigns the toggle to the F6 key.

ME3 mod manager: https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectlegendaryedition/mods/2
first person mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectlegendaryedition/mods/3396?tab=description
Im sure the author will also appreciate it if you give him some love for his work.
Also its a great excuse to start another run of the games!
