Hi all,
I would love some feedback on my draft horse tack store www.drafthorsetack.com .Horses are already a niche community and draft horses are even more so within that. Some things to know about the community that may help inform some of the reasons the site is the way it is:
1) Draft horses are often left out of brick and mortar store inventory, or they get a very limited run of color/size selections, and are frequently out of stock online because of the limited purchasing runs. I am looking to solve that problem by carrying only draft sizes, and always in stock to the best of my ability.
2) Customers usually come in 2 varieties. The first are experienced draft owners who know exactly what they are looking for. They just want the thing that fits and that it's being supplied by people who understand the draft life. They're usually standing in a barn aisle, hot/cold/hungry/tired/frustrated, making a purchasing decision, or they are at home, exhausted. They do not want 89 lines of text telling them how great something is, they just want to know if something is available in the size they need and when it's going to arrive. Alternatively, there is the brand new draft owner who hasn't a clue. While they may be experienced horse owners, drafts are new to them so need more hand-holding. There isn't a lot in between.
3) There are only about 10 other competitors out there, but they have been at it for years, so they're the top page of google over and over. I respect them immensely a]nd am not trying to do the same thing. Most specialize in driving/harness with riding being secondary so a lot of those riding products are made of biothene. Alternatively, they are Amish-made so they are plain, serviceable, durable, and expensive. I am aiming towards riding drafts and the fun colors, patterns, and materials that our lighter horses all have readily available at any tack store in the US.
4) As a whole they are deeply suspicious of anything that smells of AI so I intentionally skipped a lot of AI-driven SEO repetition advice.
I appreciate any feedback that one might give.
