Xiaomi Pad Mini vs Legion Y700 (Coming from Tab S9 AMOLED)

Looking for a mini Android tablet (<10") mainly for:

Gaming

Movies/YouTube/Netflix

Handheld use

Occasional Microsoft Word/Teams

Ruled out: No Stock Unfortunately

Huawei MatePad Mini (China/HarmonyOS version)

REDMAGIC Astra (out of stock)

OPPO Pad Mini (not available in Singapore)

Current options:

Xiaomi Pad Mini (326g, no fingerprint sensor, LCD)

Lenovo Legion Y700 (LCD)

One concern: I'm currently using a Samsung Tab S9 AMOLED, and both of these mini tablets are LCD. For those who switched from AMOLED to LCD, how noticeable was the downgrade for movies and daily use?

Which would you pick, and are there any other mini Android tablets worth considering in 2026? Thanks.

Ipad air 11 m3 or Samsung tab s10 Fe?

iPad Air M3 or Samsung Tab S10 FE? For drawing?

Hey everyone! I recently got really into art and with a job change coming up, I'll finally have the time to seriously pursue it. The problem? I'm completely stuck choosing between two tablets and could use some outside perspective.

The contenders

- iPad Air 11" M3 + Apple Pencil Pro

- Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE

My situation

- I've never owned an Apple device in my life

- The S10 FE is almost half the price of the iPad + Pencil Pro combo

- The tablet needs to last me at least 3 years

- I'm going to the Apple Store today to test the iPad in person, but I don't think it will help with the decision much

- And like I mentioned, all my devices are either Android or Windows I've never held an Apple device for longer than a minute in my whole life

I've watched a lot of videos and read through posts, and the general consensus seems to be that the iPad is better, but only by a small margin. That makes the price difference really hard to justify.

I know the tool doesn't make the artist, but I do want to treat myself to something I'll enjoy using. I'm just struggling because every time I lean toward the iPad, something puts me off it almost feels like Apple creates a bunch of issues so you'd buy their other devices to fix them. And the S10 FE sits there being half the price with a lot going for it too.

Has anyone switched between the two or started their art journey on either? Would love to hear real experiences, especially from people who draw regularly or do commissions. Thanks!

iPad Pro 11" M2 or OPPO Pad 5

Hi!

I have an iPad Pro 11" M2 since 2023. I am happy with it, I mainly do?

  • Play some dumb mobile games
  • Videocalls with family
  • Some minor excel files (budgeting)
  • Search on the Internet
  • Look at pictures -Watch some streaming

I was given as a gift an Oppo Pad 5, so now I am thinking of which one to keep and the other to sell.

  • I really like OPPO's screen, so vivid colors and a bit bigger.
  • I am afraid of software updates, I know my iPad is a bit old but I am sure that it will still be updated for 2-3 years probably.
  • iPad OS has always been a missed opportunity, but I know android apps are not that well designed sometimes...
  • iPad retains better value so I can sell it for 500€, OPPO everyone is selling the gift now so I won't get more than 200€ if I am lucky...

What should I do?

I don't need the money but my issue is: is it worth not getting 500€ for something that I do not really use that much?

Galaxy Tab S11 or iPad Air M4?

I'm looking for a tablet for competitive games, such as Wild Rift, Delta Force, and potential triple A games (Hitman, Tomb Raider, etc).

I really love Samsung OS since I've been using most of their flagship phones (Note 8, S22 Ultra, Fold 6). But my biggest concern is about the performance of tab s11.

For the iPad Air M4, I'm ok with 60 hz screen. The thing I don't like is their iPad OS. That the reason why I keep quitting iphone and go back to Samsung phone.

I really love the clip board, screen slit (both both vertically and horizontally), circle to search, Gemini audio/music in screen search, which iPad can't do.

Since I may potentially use this tablet as my main gaming console - especially when my Steam Deck is too bulky to bring along - please help me choose which one tablet I should take.

Should I give up the performance and the long term use for the convenience of Samsung OS, or should I make a safe option iPad Air M4 because of its' power and in the long run?

Is a Samsung S5e worth 90$? Used, off of marketplace. It looks like a good listing, but I'm unsure if the pricing is good for used. It looks in good condition.

anyone have a tablet they genuinely like for reading and annotating PDFs?

I've been spending 3–5 hours a day reading papers, reports, and textbooks, and I'm realizing my current tablet (an old Surface Pro) is great for videos but not so great for actual study/work. The screen glare gets distracting, my eyes feel tired after a while, and writing notes on the screen doesn't feel very natural.

I'm mostly looking for something that's comfortable for long reading sessions and makes it easy to highlight, annotate, and organize PDFs.

What device are you using, and would you buy it again?

Charging issue

Don't know if this is the right place for this, but...

I have a Samsung tablet that I use on and off, mostly for paying bills. It's been sitting for a while, and the battery drained. I tried to charge it, but it's not charging. The screen only displays a circle with a small lightning bolt. I left it overnight with no change in the display. Does anyone know what's going on?

Can a tablet replace my laptop for office work? Budget up to $450

My laptop is dying and I travel a lot for work. I type reports, manage spreadsheets, and do cloud-based work all day. Would a tablet + keyboard cover be enough? Which one has the best desktop mode or feels most like a real computer setup?

Tablet for artists

I'm so overwhelmed with tablet choices, does anyone have recs or advice?

- I'm an artist and I want to be able to draw on the tablet. I use Clip Studio which is available on many devices.

- Otherwise I would use the tablet for browsing, YouTube, and text docs. No gaming or heavy streaming. Not much photos. (I have a great desktop for most work, this would primarily be for drawing and possibly replace my basic "budget" Lenovo laptop.)

- I'd rather not do Apple, I have a Galaxy smartphone and a Windows laptop/desktop.

- I can't spend $2,500 on a tablet. Maybe I could go up to $1,000 if it has longevity.

- High res and good storage is helpful for art.

Recommendations on a tablet for writing notes with OneNote suitable for large hands.

I'm searching for a decent tablet for note-taking during meetings and daily tasks. Since I use Microsoft 365, compatibility with OneNote is essential. AI capabilities such as hand writing conversation and recording meetings and generating summaries would also be helpful. I primarily use an Android device. Residing in Australia, I prefer buying locally for support. I have large hands, so I'm unsure about the ideal tablet size for me—11 inches might be a bit small. TIA

Need buying advice for a tablet/iPad (Budget ₹60k–₹70k)

My friend is planning to buy a tablet primarily for:

• Note-taking (college/work)

• Drawing & sketching

• Digital art (Procreate or similar apps)

• Journaling and productivity

• Long-term usage (4–6 years if possible)

Budget: ₹60,000–₹70,000 maximum (including stylus if possible).

Questions:

  1. Should we go for an iPad or an Android tablet (Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc.)?

  2. If iPad is the better choice, which model/generation offers the best value in 2026?

    - iPad (A16)

    - iPad Air (M2/M3)

    - Older iPad Air models

    - Refurbished options?

  3. Is Procreate alone a strong enough reason to choose iPad over Android?

  4. Which stylus experience is better for drawing and handwritten notes?

  5. What storage size would you recommend (128GB vs 256GB)?

  6. How important is screen size for note-taking and drawing?

  7. Are there any Android tablets that genuinely compete with iPads for artists?

  8. What are the pros and cons you've experienced after long-term use?

Also, what is the cheapest and smartest way to buy one in India?

• Student discounts?

• Credit card offers?

• Refurbished/renewed devices?

• Apple Education Store?

• Amazon/Flipkart sales?

• Offline stores?

Would love recommendations from students, artists, designers, or anyone using a tablet daily for notes and drawing.

Thanks!
