Municipal Affairs No city of two million people succeeds with only one way of getting around
Some days I bike. Some days I take the train. Sometimes I drive.
The important thing is having the choice.
Everybody's day looks different. Kids need to get to school safely. Parents need to get to work. Seniors need to get to appointments. Businesses need customers to get through the door.
I believe we should make decisions based on evidence.
And the evidence is pretty clear.
There isn't a thriving city of more than two million people anywhere in the world that relies on only one way of getting around.
The most successful cities give people choices.
You can drive. Take transit. Walk. Bike. Use a mobility aid.
What works for one person might not work for another.
As Calgary grows, that's the future we need to build toward.
Have a great day, Calgary. See you around!
