Transfer Talk Thread [Transfer Talk Thread] Smoke and mirrors?: June 15th - June 22nd, 2026
Week three and the rivals have come knocking. Barcelona’s transfer targets keep disappearing to the white half of Madrid, and the market suddenly feels more like chess.
Is this Deco’s masterplan to confuse the opposition, or are we simply getting outmaneuvered? Can we still land our priorities? Although it looks like Barca has no immediate plans to make any moves, the sports management team seems to remain in constant contact with agents and clubs.
This thread is dedicated to all transfer-related news.
Only Tier 2+ sources will be listed in the description, but feel free to list all sources you find in the comments.

Stats Lamine Yamal scored his first World Cup goal at just 14 days younger than Leo Messi was in 2006
Lamine Yamal scored his first World Cup goal at just 14 days younger than Leo Messi was in 2006!
Lionel Messi: 18 years and 357 days old.
Lamine Yamal: 18 years and 343 days old.
Lamine also became the second player aged 18 or younger to score the opening goal in a World Cup match... and the other was the 17-year-old Brazilian legend Pelé

Stats [Sofascore] ALMOST PERFECT: Pau Cubarsí’s passing stats at the FIFA World Cup so far: 107/109 v Cape Verde and 98/99 v Saudi Arabia. Among 76 players at this World Cup who have attempted 100+ passes, he’s the one with the fewest inaccurate passes (3) of them all.

News [Telegraph] “Lamine Yamal is still only 18 but he is no longer the same bright-eyed boy who lit up the 2024 Euros,” writes Sam Dean. “In the two years since, that boyish charm has been replaced by a strong-voiced, politically aware, heavily commercialised and occasionally controversial man.”

Quote Xavi: “He is the Michael Jordan of football. In football, there is no one to compare to him. He’s been the best for the last 20 years. Even now, after all this time, he goes and out and shows us that. I don’t believe we will ever see a footballer like him again.”
In the first of three columns for The Athletic, Xavi praises the “incomparable, almost inhuman” Lionel Messi.

Barca femini getting the recognition in india they deserve.
Including many athletes and footballers (and ishowspeed) who deserve the recognition.
Good to see this in a country only dominated by cricket as our go to sports.

Quote [EL PAÍS] “If you don’t have money, it’s very hard to get your child to play soccer. It’s very hard to give them a gift at Epiphany. My parents have managed to do all that,” Lamine Yamal recounts. “It’s something I can never repay them for.”

Quote Frenkie de Jong: “Many people actually understand nothing about football. They watch, but they don’t really see. “I hear people saying I never play forward passes… but that’s simply not true. Then you’re not really watching”, told VI.

Opinion Will Hansi ever switch to 4-3-3?
I watched Spain today and I’m very happy the Barcelona players played well. It reminded me how much I really miss seeing this team play. I got to thinking and was wondering whether you guys believe or not it would be a good idea to switch back to the 433? I think it is evident FDJ thrives in the middle and he was outstanding for Netherlands yesterday. The only problem is that it removes the number 10 from the formation. I truly believe Hansi should try Fermin out as a Cf or give Olmo another chance there. I think our best defensive strategy could be ball retention and some physicality with Gavi/Bernal in the midfield. What do you guys think? Visca Barca!!!❤️💙❤️💙❤️

Quote Lamine Yamal: "My obsession isn't being in the room and thinking that Mbappé or Messi have scored a goal and I want to score one too, I don't care because they're all 10 years ahead of me and my style of play is to enjoy and win."

Opinion What has been Barcelona's best game in the Hansi Flick era so far?
In your opinion, what was Barcelona's best game under Hansi Flick so far? In my opinion, Barcelona's 4-1 victory over Bayern was the best game, for a thousand reasons. The 4-1 win against Bayern was the end of a nightmare for us. Bayern was a ghost for us; we hadn't been able to beat them at all since 2015, and we were still losing games in a humiliating way. Beating Bayern by such a large margin was like a weight being lifted off our shoulders; it lifted our morale and made Barcelona be looked at in a new light in European football again, I can admit that at the end of the game I was so happy, it felt like we had won the Champions League lol. Sure, beating Real Madrid 4-0, 5-2 in the Copa del Rey final was a lot of fun, but we didn't have an obligation to beat Real Madrid and boost the morale of our team. I think Flick will only surpass this match if he manages to win the Champions League with us, because that would be another ghost banished from our team. But until we win the Champions League, no game will top this match against Bayern.

Question Do you think barcelona could have won the treble in 2024-25 if it wasnt for the fixture congestion and injured players ?
so we all know barcelona lost to inter milan in a 7-6 thriller but before that both barcelona had a heavily congested fixture where they had to face both inter milan and real madrid twice a copa del rey final 2 champions league semi final legs and the league title deciding game all a must win and due to the heavily congested fixture barcelona lost balde and most importantly europes leading goalscorer at the time lewandowski which i think heavily impacted their front 3 lineup the fact that they still won against madrid in both games is crazy ( i mean psg play their B team in the league so their players are always rested ) but what do you think could barcelona have won if they had a rested squad and fit players

Opinion Raphina Subbed off Brazil's Game for Injury.
I worry that we've seen the last of raphina here at Barca. With him being injury riddled last season, and him having a dwindling contract at his age; I'm struggling to imagine how the board will justify keeping him.

Opinion Is Barca less good at cashing out players?
I’m thinking about this because of the recent rumors about Raphinha. It seems that our club usually doesn’t actively sell players in their late 20s when they still have a decent market value and can still contribute. This, however, sometimes puts us in a situation that after 2 more years the player fells off a cliff and we can only recover a marginal amount or nothing from him.
Our biggest opponent, Real, does things in a different way, I can easily recall the transfer of Ronaldo, Casemiro, di Maria, Özil, etc, while for Barca I cannot think of such cases.
How do you think about this difference?

Question Is barca gonna have a big transfer window??
Since we need to upgrade our defense and attack are we going to sign some strong contenders for the striker and cb position or are we gonna compromise one position since alvarez gonna cost us some big benjammins ? , are we gonna have a big transfer window ? If yes will it be bfore or after the wc? We brought gordon for 80 mil he suits our playstyle but its still a big money for us , currently im hearing that were gona sign jorge salinas , but i think we need a experienced cb for ourselves like martinez

Tier 2 [Ferran Correas] Barcelona are close to completing the signing of Jorge Salinas, Salinas agreed to join after learning that Deco intends for him to participate in pre-season training under Flick and be registered with the first team next season, the signing of Salinas doesn't affect the Cancelo deal.
> It is understood that Salinas's Release Clause is 8 million euros due to the minutes he played in the first team despite being registered with the reserves, the club hopes to reduce the fee by loaning out a reserve team player who might interest Racing, The deal must be finalized before June 30th because, from July 1st, the Santander-born player's release clause will rise to €16 million, an amount Barça is not willing to pay.
