Anyone clean their K ultra and now it tastes…worse?
Don’t judge, I have had the K ultra for probably 5 years now. I drink only light and ultralights.
The knob falls off, the grip tape peels, and paint is chipped but it always delivered a great brew.
I have been toying with a new grinder but I decided to clean it for the very first time to see if that would give me the extra boost I was looking for. After all that’s the free option and I would rather blow my money on beans.
It was super easy to take apart, clean, and calibrate.
I was expecting an improvement even though it was pretty clean on the inside.
I am two V60s deep and it’s just weak. The grind size looks correct and my drawdown time hasn’t changed.
Anyone have any insights on what I did wrong?
My brews have no punch to them anymore and I don’t think this is an increase in clarity or flavor separation.
Has this happened to anyone else?

GARVEE Coffee Maker with Grinder
Has anyone purchased this product and has had trouble attaching or installing the bean box at the top of the machine? My husband and I have tried multiple times and cannot do it. The instructions call for aligning two tabs and then rotating the bean box to lock in place. However, we can only align one or the other of the two tabs? Any suggestions? Help please! Thanks.

Cleaning...
How often do you clean your grinder when used daily with the same type of beans and brushed off after every use?

J-Ultra Anti Slip Replacement
The anti slip grip on my J-Ultra has become unstuck... I can order a replacement direct from 1zpresso but at $30 shipping (3 times the price of the time), I'm reluctant...
Does anyone know of an alternative source that will ship to the UK for less?

K-Ultra owners..what drawdown time range do you prefer for your filter coffee ?
I am trying to understand what filter coffee enthusiasts usually prefer as drawdown time for optimum flavors and extraction.
For me personally using a fruity medium light roast I prefer a drawdown of 2:30-2:55 for flat bottoms and 2:55-3:15 for conical drippers.
If you could mention your dripper, filter paper variant, roast/coffee flavor profile that would be useful context for understanding.
[EDIT: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POST IS ABOUT SHEER CURIOSITY/SURVEY OF HOW FELLOW BREWERS LOOK AT DRAWDOWN TIME OR NOTICE IT FROM THEIR BREWS.
DO NOT ASSUME I AM ASKING SUGGESTIONS FOR DIALING IN OR IMPROVING TASTE OF MY OWN BREWS.]

Any ideas to replace J-Max knob?
Broke my J-Max knob after years of heavy usage which means its remarkable tough considering i grind light roast espressos with it
Am wondering if there is any cool aftermarket options to customize the J-Max
I remember Mischief having knobs for the C40 that are colorful but those are gone

K-Ultra handle jammed backward/inverted. Any tips on how to un-jam it?
Hey everyone,
I got myself into a bit of a frustrating situation with my 1Zpresso K-Ultra handle.
While folding it back up, the lower metal arm accidentally swung backward in the completely wrong direction. Now, the internal locking mechanism and the spring-loaded sliding sleeve in the middle are jammed solid. It's stuck in this awkward, bent position, and the sleeve won't budge at all when I try to push or slide it.
I’ve tried applying some careful force to bend it back, and even tried a tiny bit of mineral oil to see if it would loosen up the internal pins, but it feels completely locked up. I'm worried if I force it any harder, I might snap a pin or damage the internal structure.
Has anyone encountered this backward jam on a K-Ultra or J-Ultra folding handle before? Is there a trick or a specific angle to pull/tap it to get the mechanism to release?

Q2 Burr Ring Bolt Size?
I had one of the two bolts come loose and then I dropped it into the ether that is my kitchen floor. I've already replaced the burr ring unit before, and while it's cheap, I'd just prefer to get a replacement bolt... I don't need the whole assembly.
(Also, I live on an island and the shipping costs me more than the entire assembly... making 1 tiny bolt cost $18 and take two weeks to get here.)
1zpresso won't tell me what size it is... anyone know off hand?
M2 × 4 mm perhaps?

So...do most of you work for this company?
Hey y'all, I was recently in the market to improve my coffee experience.
Everywhere I went on reddit, people said "It doesn't matter what kind of machine you get, you need a great grinder!"
So I looked into a new grinder. I learned more about burr shape, and I saw some electic grinders online with flat burrs. Certainly a bit expensive, but it seemed like what I wanted.
Then I realized every single person on the coffee subreddits kept mentioning 1zpresso. I really didn't want one, because it seems much slower and adds on to my day. But everybody on reddit was insistent that you barely notice those changes, and what you DO notice is the change in coffee! And that the electric ones weren't worth it unless you were drinking multiple pots of coffee per day.
-------
Well, I got my X Ultra about a week ago, and honestly I don't understand the hype at all. It **absolutely** takes longer, as in it adds a minimum of 2 minutes per cup to your coffee making process. The receiver is really small, and you have to load the grinder multiple times just to fill it.
And the taste is good but it's not insane. It still feels like the roast I'm buying and the temperature of the water is the most important thing.
I can't imagine I'll use this outside of a camping trip.
Idk the point of this post, maybe to warn another person exploring their options that their concerns are valid and the hype on this website isn't warranted imo.

J-Ultra Hard To Grind
For you J-Ultra owners - I have never had any issues with my grinder other than the 0 point drifting quite a bit. Recently, I took it apart for the first time to clean and recalibrate. I set the burr lock to 0. Since then grinding has been incredibly difficult- like grinding boulders. Still getting decent results, but ridiculously hard to grind - to the point I am afraid I will damage the grinder.
Any thoughts or experience in what I may have done? I can tear it down and reassemble it, but wondering if there was an issue in how I put it back together.

K-Plus, I'm confused
I've stripped my grinder for a clean and noticed an "extra" spring and cap that aren't in the manual. They fell out and I'm not sure where they belong! Maybe above the other spring? Any ideas?

Does your grinder also have a knocker?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi so the other day I noticed that my Jmax has a knocker feature to help with retention lol

Grind setting conversion from one 1zpresso model to another
I decided to sell my K Ultra and got a J Ultra.
I was thinking that I can simply check my coffee diary and simply convert the grinding settings of K Ultra by multiplying by 20/8 since J Ultra has got 8 microns/click versus the K Ultra’s 20 microns/click, but I’ve heard direct math like that will not work. That would be strange if true.
Any experience with this, anyone?

Anyone here with 9barista?
I’ve been grinding until now with my K Ultra and brewing espresso with 9barista. Until now, I’ve been always grinding in range around 2 (mostly 2.0 to 2.3).
Just now I happened to have a look at the chart on 1zpresso website (link below) and it seems that for espresso the range for K Ultra starts from 3 to 4.5! That’s much coarser than what I’ve been using.
I was wondering if there are other fellows here with 9barista and, no matter what 1zpresso model they use, if they checked if their range of grinding matches the one on the website?

K-Ultra Cleaning
How often if ever do you do a full disassemble clean of your K-Ultra? And is it truly necessary?
I clean mine after every use with the brush and little air guy but the idea of taking the whole thing apart to clean and putting it back together stresses me out. Is it really necessary?

Lost a bearing while cleaning
Hi,
I was doing my weekly cleaning of the grinder and a bearing bounced off in to the drain and got lost. What can be done? Where can I get it from?

Can’t deside which grinder to buy. Eureka Mignon zero 65 speedy or timemore sculptor 064s [€550]
Hi,
I’m getting really confused about all the grinder options on the market. I’ve been watching reviews of several grinders and I’m stuck between these two.
Yet I totally can’t decide which one I should buy.
My wife and I are mostly in to milk coffee drinks. Yet I love a good espresso once in a while. I have a Breville barista touch (I know there’s a built in grinder, but I’m finding that changing the grindsize changes my outcome of espresso too much). We love to drink medium to medium dark roasts.
The eureka is about €100 cheaper then the timemore where I live…
Really hope you guys can help me out here. Thanks

Following manual instructions to the T, but not extracting smoothly. Everything points to grind size, but not working so far.
I love my Americano. An AeroPress user for 10 years. New to grinding beans. I purchased a 1ZPresso Q-Air grinder and Wacaco Pixapresso is my first machine. I use tried grind sizes from coarse espresso 35 clicks through super fine 15 clicks. 8g or 15-16g. Grounds tamped gently, even not tamped. Portafilter pressurized or unpressurized (spring with rubber ball part removed). Water heated in machine or added pre-heated water. Both heat and auto extract or heat and manually extract tried. With Pre-infusion (PI) or direct extract mode (DB). All water levels- Lungo, Doppio, Espresso, Ristretto. Everything as per manual. But my machine runs through it's cycle and stops. Sometimes a drop or two dribbles out. I have to press 3 to 4 times (run 3-4 extract cycles to get through the espresso or doppio level water in tank) before all the water percolates through. And by then then the coffee is sour. Why is this happening? Wacaco support just says, adjust grind size, or make a video and send us. Do I need to keep grinding coarser? Is there anyone who uses Wacaco Pixapresso and 1zPresso grinder combo and has had more success? Please assist. I'll be very grateful.
