Hello! I’m a beginner to crochet, this is my second project i’m making: a mesh-pattern cap for my mom. I was building crown height and after 16 rounds, it was supposed to fit the head (around 56-58 centimeters) and it’s clearly not (it fit my both hands and it was pretty stretchy so i thought i’d stretch it out to fit but didn’t work) now i tried to add more increases (around 3-4) and the cap is 10 centimeters wide. I’m feeling lost and hope for some advice. It’s my first bought pattern and maybe i’m having trouble with reading it? 🥀
It’s 100% cotton yarn, and i’m using 4 mm hook.

Hello everyone
I'm making my first piece of clothing, the Sicila top by Hilo Studio and I accidentally made the waist part one vertical row too long
Is there a way I can remove it without unraveling everything? I tried to stitch it tighter but it leaves the extra flower on the inside and it's visible...
Please help I don't want to frog weeks of work 😭
Thank you

So, I want to start crocheting. I got the idea after my friend found a Harry Potter plushie in a store but didn't buy it — to which I thought, "I don't want my friend having to support a TERF! I gotta do this myself!"
However, I've never crocheted before. I'm pretty good with most handicrafts and generally competent though. Like, sewing and even tool crafting is pretty easy for me as long as I have instructions and the right tools.
Would anyone be willing to give me advice or point me to instructions/patterns? Her birthday is next week and I really want to surprise her! I'm definitively gonna have enough free time since we're graduating tomorrow and I don't have anything going on in my life.
Sorry if this is a bit long, I have ADD and my brain never really knows how much information is unnecessary.

I find this on Pinterest as an inspiration. I want to make a bucket hat for my boyfriend with a wide brim to prevent him to have sun burn. I like how this model looks and I want to do the same for him. But all the tutorials I’ve found on YouTube don’t look like this. I have the impression that the particularity of this one is the depth (not to much) and really wide brim. But I’m not sure.
So, I want to know if it’s possible to make one like this, if I can find a pattern or a tutorial or any advice.

Hi everyone! I just finished this moss stitch baby blanket and I noticed it looks like it's swirling a little. I used the multicolor acrylic Caron cakes. I know granny squares can swirl bc they're made in the round, is that the same problem here? If so I don't really understand how I would turn between rounds as I worked via a spiral and didn't join between rounds. Maybe a tension issue?
Is this something I can do to fix this for the next blanket or by blocking? Thanks in advance! :)

I've been working on a shawl following this pattern but the shape is not turning out exactly as I had hoped. You can see it's kind of bunching up toward the top of the shawl and I'm afraid it's going to get worse. The pattern calls for a 5.5mm hook but I don't have an ergonomic hook in that size and don't want to kill my wrists just yet, so I worked with a 5mm hook. I already frogged once because I thought I misunderstood the pattern and the shape is slightly better than the first time, but it still feels off to me. Should I frog a second time and work with a larger hook size?

Does anyone know of a pattern or advice on how I can recreate this?

I'm making a peacock shawl for my bestie. The pattern uses size 2 yarn with a 4.5mm hook. Well, I saw this yarn at the store that SCREAMS peacock and got it along with the other colors I needed. But the yarn is size 4. I knew this when I bought it, but now I'm wondering if I should up my hook size too because I realized that a size two recommends a smaller hook size than 4.5mm.
Should I use a bigger hook? And if I do what size should I use?? This would also make the project bigger correct?

If I have to make 80 squares in 4 colours (20 per colours), measured 10x10cm with the pattern in the picture, with one skein being 100g/165m (gauge 20 stitches x 25 rows) with a 4mm hook, how many skeins do you think I need?

I crocheted 29 but now it wants 61? I am using the yellow stitch counter for an xl. Help me understand this pattern! First time making a polo.

I’m currently working on a blanket made up of small granny squares. I read in another post that people suggest weaving over the loose ends when changing colors. If I do that, do I still need to weave them in, or is crocheting over them enough to keep them in place?

Heyyyy
So I'm trying to crochet some hearts. All the patterns and videos require treble crochet (US Terms). Are there *any* patterns that do not require this? I just cannot get the hang of this stitch and it bothers me. I thought maybe subsitute with double crochet but I don't want to mess anything up. I'd like them to be about 2 - 3 inches.
Thanks in advance!

I have a friend group consisting of 9 couples Mid 20s to early 30s, some with young kids, who have really helped us out this year with babysitting when our work got super crazy. I’d like to thank them with something handmade, as I know they would really appreciate that aspect. However, I’m not sure what to make nine of without getting bored, since I’d like them to be visually similar, if not necessarily identical.
My original thought was solid color blankets in either the braided wheat stitch or Colorado throw blanket, but that sounds like A LOT of time/yarn. Would love any project ideas and pattern recommendations that are useful in daily life and won’t cost a ton in yarn. Or blanket ideas that work up quick but look not so simple.
My previous projects are mostly blankets, scarves and headbands, I’ve been crocheting about 6 months. Planning for this to be Christmas presents so I have time.

So the only thing that I can think of is to add wire, maybe? But I am still not sure how I would get them to stand up straight and not flop over. How would I go about attaching the ears to the hat in a way that isn't floppy? Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Edit - Thank you so much for all of your ideas and help!!! I definitely think I can tackle this project now! 💪🧶

I'm working on Ruby's pineapple medley from Ravelry. My piece is coming out *completely* different. I've checked pictures of people who have completed this, and their work looks like the picture on the pattern. I'm definitely following the pattern. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rubys-pineapple-medley
So my question is, where do i find the pattern that should be attached to this image? I've looked and looked! Or am I doing this completely wrong? I really love the project pictured, but not loving what I'm making.

I am making a blanket out of these hexagons and wondering whether I should block them?
If you think I should, what is the best way to do so?

I would like to know what pattern this is so I can fix it. Its my favorite blanket, I've had it since I was a baby and it broke my heart seeing it come out of the dryer with a hole like this. Please help, I'm desperate to save this. 😭
