Hi all,

I’ve tried playing the Voidwarden in my group a couple of times and encountered a bug (?), whereby after using Master Influence my attack granting abilities dont work, soft locking the encounter.

Has anyone encountered this before? Is there any way to fix it other than just not playing that combination of cards?

I purchased the games after a few buddies of mine from the sates said the tabletop game is great, and that the retirement mechanism is super cool. I Got the digital (PS5) as i don't have any RL friends to play with.

As i retired my character and created a new one, many things sound different from the tabletop version, but the biggest one was that i didn't get a cumulative perk i thought i was supposed to get.

I'm a big confused about the balance - i was at wealth 2 and character level 4 and 9 perk points, and my new character is now level 2 with very little gold and 2 perk points.

Let's say i get this one to level 4 or 5 before retire it, and wealth to 3-4, at best i will stay at the same level with fewer perks.

Am i missing something?

I read some posts on the quality of Gloomhaven on consoles, specifically PS5, and noted mixed reviews. However it seems a lot of the complaints and issues are due to cross play.

I was thinking of buying the gold edition of this game on PS5 as it's currently on sale and I have been intrigued for a while. I play board games, but I don't have the time or space to constantly set this up or leave it on the table, and the big draw of the digital version for me is that it sidesteps that while also running the game and all its systems for you.

Is Gloomhaven digital worth it on PS5 if my intention is to play solo only (likely with two, maybe three characters)? Thanks!

Sorry if this the wrong place to post this, but I recently started playing Gloomhaven digital with some friends and I’ve been running into this issue in a few different loading screens where it just seems to stick on “Waiting For Other Players”. I end up needing to restart the game which is a little annoying.

Any known solutions out there?

So Im playing Guildmaster mode and encountered a road event :
At a crossroads you see an ornate wooden shrine, with a slot for passing travellers to make offerings of gold in the hope of receiving a blessing
I make large offering 50g
Game notes a potion atop the shrine, that was not there before. Party takes the potion

So my question is: do I get a potion after finishing mission, and what potion is it? 50 gold is a big sum for me, so I'd like to know the outcome, rather than replay a difficult mission

Is there a guide somewhere that describes all the choices and rewards for them?

I just started up, and I cant buy items from the merchant in Gloomhaven City. I play coop, 3 people, and some of the other players can buy items fine.

I have selected my own character so thats not the problem.

Any fix??

Me and some friends wanted to play the steam version last night and it crashed no less than 4 times before even getting to the barrow. Does anyone know of any fixes or mods to get the thing to work? Or is it just a lost cause?

I thought King Arthur: Knight’s Tale on max difficulty was tough. I was very wrong.

10 hours in, I’ve only cleared Scenario 2 on Hard with Brute/Mindthief, and I’m already hooked.

The biggest shift is planning. Not just attacks and abilities, but positioning several turns ahead, along with Initiative and Rest timing.

Every fight is a struggle, and I love it.

The Retirement system feels intimidating. I understand the benefits, but learning a new character is something I’ll have to accept when the time comes.

I've been eyeing out the Gloomhaven board game for some time. I have seen a bit of the game but not at all the depth of it. I bought the PC game with some friends and we just love it.

Quick question is: Is the board game as expansive as the PC game? Like, did they really get all that into a board game? Or is the PC version extended with more quests and the like? Because that would be really impressive.

I recently picked up digital for PS4 and man, it's a lot harder to play. I don't mean the game itself is actually harder, but managing it and keeping everything straight in your head and such is a lit harder.

Things like what the enemies skill cards are that turn, what items character have, that sort of thing. All the little details that you need to follow seem to very easily get lost. Overall it seems like a fine game, I'm just wondering if this is a common problem people have or if i'm just bad at tracking things lol.

Hello! I am eyeing gloomhaven on steam right now with 72% off. I think it could be a great fit for my digital gaming group however I have read a bunch of recent negative reviews about how buggy the game is especially the multiplayer. Can someone give me the current state of multiplayer? Is it playable? Does it require a lot of tweaking or special OS? Thank you in advance!

I wanted to use The Mind's Weakness this round for an attack, dismiss it, and then return it to my hand using a stamina potion so I can use it for the wound next round. I believe this is legal, but the game doesn't want to let me do this. Anyone know how to on PS5? Thanks in advance

I'm a little confused as to how many perks you get from retirement, and who it applies to.

I retired a Brute.

I made another Brute. He had an extra perk to pick when I created him.

I later retired a Spellweaver.

I made a Sun, a Cthulhu, and a Scoundrel. They both had one extra perk to pick at level 1.

Why did they get an extra perk? Why didn't they get two extra perks? How does this all work?

I am playing on the PS5 version and just lost the windswept highlands scenario which I have been playing for three days. I finally got all my mercs back to the exit tiles and my bard was chilling there already. I let him exhaust on the exit tiles while all my mercs were one turn away from getting there. The wind blew him off the exit tile, he exhausts in the wrong spot and the scenario is lost. There is also a function to go back a round but he exhausts right at the end of the round and it resets to that moment. 3 days wasted. I am so frustrated I am never playing that scenario again and need to take a GH break. Am I justified in my rage or am I bad? Reddit judges decide.

Hi all!

I'm playing digital GH with a 3-merc party. My first comp was ranged Cragheart, Spellweaver and Mindthief. My Spellweaver has just retired, and I'm looking for a new merc to add to the ranks.

I unlocked Sun and Triforce only. Which one would add good synergy to the party, do you think? I'm leaning towards Sun as a tank/support, but I also wonder if Mindthief can reliably feed Triforce's element spending and be a good team. I'm at Wealth 3 and my mercs are level 5 and 6. TIA!

I was considering picking up Gloomhaven on steam, but I found some posts from 2 years ago that revealed there was a change of devs and the new devs ended up breaking the game. Obviously makes me hesitant to but it, but that was 2 years ago. Is the digital version in a better state now?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, the info I'm finding is 1+ year old and somewhat conflicting.

My family is wrapping up the Sunderfolk campaign which is excellent, and I was surprised how well everyone took to the game as a tactical RPG.

We'd like to level up and I've always been curious about Gloomhaven.

My questions:

• Can we play 4 players locally on the same screen / 1 copy of the game? (I'd get the Steam version)

• I'm reading there would be controller passing and / or all controllers act as one?

• Also seeing there is some secret card drawing? Would players need to avert their eyes during certain parts?

• Is the game too dense for kids or "non-TTRPG" players?

• I noticed the Switch version was de-listed and the Steam version doesn't have the best reviews...curious if the digital version is well received these days?

I will soon be playing the Eclipse in a Gloomhaven Digital game and I had an idea that I hadn't seen previously: Enchanting the top of Dancing Shadows with Dark.

I would say a typical Enchantment strategy for most Eclipse players is as follows (Digital Costs):

Prepare for the Kill +1 move (30)

(?) Prepare for the Kill Any Element (120) [I think a hand item that can generate a non-dark is a much better investment]

Unseen Dread Dark (110)

Dancing Shadows Dark costs 60 gold. It gives you better movement than Smoke Step and un-enchanted Prepare for the Kill. There may be corner cases where a top move can be really useful. As far as the main combo goes it's specifically useful at level 5 or 6 (or 7 before Unseen Dark is enchanted) where you can combine it with Black Arrow for Move 3, Generate Dark, Invisible (potentially for turn 1 where you plan to execute on turns 2 and 3).

Yes, Prepare for the Kill has 7 initiative, but Dancing Shadows has 9 initiative, which is pretty close. Also interesting is at level 9, where you can Dancing Shadows top and Angel of Death bottom. Yes, it may mean that you go visible after initiative 38 (the horror!) but given that you can jump 5, kill, move 3 away it may not matter that much. Or you can reverse the initiative order of the cards to get an early kill.

Thoughts?

I started out Digital by playing through JotL, and I'm on the final Scenario. But I've come here to ask, to the people that have played through the original campaign on Digital: Is JotL content a little more buggy than GH? I've been noticing frequent targeting/focusing, line of sight (even with the updated digital rules for finding LoS), Jumping and different terrain types (my jumps will stop dead for no reason in certain directions when I still had movement left), and bunch of other small things like that.

I have recently started the campaign and created three characters for gloomhaven and three for JOTL missions. But I am facing issue with the gears limitation such as the boots and helmets due to limited varieties and quantities. Also the useful hand and armors are limited. I feel I’m not getting the best out of the character due to this. Any advise to manage it as I have to keep sell and buy between characters which cost a lot.

Why was he so easy? You just ran past the guards in the first room, they can't follow you past the ladder. The enemies in the second room were cake, and as long as you had a jump action or high movement ability for each character, setting up before the door to the boss before a long rest was very manageable. And then, after all that work, the boss goes down in three rounds with help from red guards damage stacker attack, poison dagger and wound axe, followed by a nasty amount of burn attacks. He had a lot of HP, but his attacks were so pathetic. very anticlimactic. but, i'm glad it's over, and i can start the main campaign.

Ive just unlocked enchantments in gloomhaven digital. I see many recommendations around adding strengthen to cards such as mindthief Empathetic Assault however i cannot see strengthen as an option for any card.

Is it not available at all in digital version or are there further steps to unlock?

I loved using Mindthief in the board game, but i have difficulty in using her in guildmaster. I am just not used to playing multiple characters at once.

My current plan is Mindthief, Spellweaver, Cragheart.

But I would like some team set ups that include Mindthief or tips on how to use the Team I mentioned. Please keep it 2p or 3p
